Food poisoning

Whole family got food poisoning from the buffet. Will never go back to this resort. The only enjoyable experience was the daisyclub for the kids. The teachers were attentive and caring. Carla is amazing.

Good value

View from a 75 year old. Check in is slow. Hotel package offer is time share offer in disguise. Easy to say no. We stayed 2 weeks Feb-March. Junior Garden suite near kids pool. Rooms are spacious and very well equipped with soap, shampoo, shave kit, toothbrush kit etc etc. King bed was firm and comfortable. Lots of storage and a safe. Decent coffee maker. Bar had 4 soft drinks, 2 light beers and 4 bottles of water. Restocked daily. Separate bath (top rusting from salt) and good shower with lots  [... read more]of hot water. Decor was dated ie orange tiles, mirror could use resilver. Nice patio furniture. Lounge chair used as a desk chair was a bit irritating. Free WiFi with good connectivity. Cleaning staff excellent. I found restaurants above average. Never had a tender steak in Mexico before. Good buffet with lots off variety. An oddity, need to ask for salt and pepper at all restaurants. A plus, food not allowed outside restaurants. Staff varied from excellent to indifferent. Typical entertainment, with not enough seating for all to view. I enjoyed some of the shows. Great beach. Seaweed constantly removed by tractor. Pools clean and a boisterous party pool for the younger set. Good kiddies pool. Usual issues with towels claiming spots on beach and pools. Go before 8. Expect to see iguana, gecko, feral cats, agouti, coati, racoons and even alligators in a contained wild area. Pelicans and frigate birds abound and you may see an oriole. Birding fair at best. Grounds are well maintained. 1 hr walk to Puerto Morales, or take a free 25 minute bike tour to town.

First Time! Amazing Trip!

Ocean Coral is an amazing resort! Beautiful gardens, walkways, beach setups and relaxing areas. Easy to get around, many restaurants, snack spots and bars, that are clean and ready to accommodate. Friendly staff, always around and ready to help get you whatever you want.

Beautiful rersort

1) The grounds of the resort are well maintained and the fine sandy beach is cleared of algae regularly 2) The rooms are spacious and comfortable. However, - The temperature control thermostat was erratic, fluctuating between 20c and 25c, although set at 23c - The shower water temperature is a problem: It took 5+ minutes before it reached a comfortable level but then it tuned from extremely cold to hot on its own. However , the Japanese restaurant was a bit disappointing, especially when we were charged $51 CAD for a small bottle of Saki (we were not told we had to pay for it before ordering ) 4) One shower at the large pool was out of service during our 10 days stay at the resort 5) Night entertainment was not as good compared to our first time stay at the resort some five years ago.

Fabulous resort

We had a good 2 week stay at this resort. The resort is large but everything was easy to get to. The weather was perfect with only 1 rainy day where they held the outdoor activities in the lobby. The pool was really nice but found it was cold in the morning but warmed up later in the day. The room was spacious with the most comfortable beds. I had the best sleeps while I was there. We only reserved 1 dinner which was at the Italian restaurant and it was very good. A large variety of food in the buffet restaurant. Saturday was Mexican theme night in the buffet restaurant and vendors came in and sold their products. Thursday afternoon is the foam party in the swim up pool. Lots of fun. The entertainment group got you involved in different activities. The only downfall is the resort is in the boonies so you had to take a cab where ever you went. A great resort with lots of fun.

Wonderful Resort

We have stayed at resorts up and down the Riviera over the last 20 years and our 10 day stay at Ocean Coral and Turquesa was lovely. All the boxes we look for were checked, well maintained beach lovely for swimming, sunning and long walks. Solid dining with a buffet that was consistent and fresh and specialty restaurants that were equal to most good resorts, I enjoyed Blue Moon and Route 66. The coffee shop, Mike’s, was a welcome stop for a capacino or fresh pastry and the numerous bars always [... read more] provided a selection of cocktails served quickly by a cheerful and attentive staff. Surprises were the little unexpected toppings like an amazing piano player in the main lobby evenings or margarita night and martini night. we’re not usually one for shows, but really thought the ones we saw were well done. We happened to be there for Super Bowl and they had an amazing big screen set up in front of the ocean that will be quite memorable. We are a mature couple who were there Yeah, he’s with a brother and sister-in-law, but if you have young children, kids pool, water park and entertainment area looked absolutely stunning, and was very well maintained and supervised. All staff we encountered were attentive and looking to make our holiday enjoyable. No question we would return again

It could be better!

Well, it is not a 5* resort. It is more like 3*. I should get a luxury room with an ocean view. I got a huge room for 5 people, which was stinking very badly. Of course I couldn't sleep in such a stench so they moved me to a small quite comfortable room without the stench. None of these rooms had a sea view. This resort was very peaceful and quiet. The room service was slow and the people taking care of the resort were always expected tips for anything they did. The food was not the best. Overall, I bought a very expensive multi-day vacation that was not worth the money and was very disappointing. I don't think I would go on such a vacation again and certainly not to this resort...

Clean tidy and comfortable resort

It took 2 days to get the humidity out of the room but after that it was comfortable. The grounds were immaculate, staff kept things looking good. The pool was clean, and the service was great. I would suggest that the hotel monitor 2 things - their no smoking policy is not policed and allowing people to place their towels on the lounge chairs then never show up is not fair to others. The restaurant staff are beyond fabulous - they are kind, helpful and friendly. The food at all venues was great - you can call always find something delicious. The Mikes Coffee staff are the quickest baristas I've ever seen, serving up great coffee. But, the roads to the hotel - full of pot holes - are the worst - be prepared for the roughest ride of your life.

Fantastic time ¡

This was a wonderful week. The resort was clean, modern and beautiful. The associates were outgoing and helpful. The food was never boring. The buffet was changed daily with an abundance of fresh produce. We pretty much camped out beside the pool from dawn to dusk daily and never had a problem finding lounge chairs and towels. We are already planning to return!

Our time at the resort

Our time throughout was very pleasant start to finish. We enjoyed every moment be it the room, be it those dining areas, pools and the greenery around. Our only advise is to maintain the running water in the bath. We had few times when water stopped or became very low during shower Thanks

Amazing resort

We had an amazing time at the resort. I’m a very picky eater and the food was better than my expectations. I’d say it was very delicious. I had an amazing prime rib dinner at the buffet one night, the breakfasts were always my favourite. There was a honey comb that gave fresh honey for pancakes. The A la carts were delicious too. Now, the water was a bit wavey but the beach itself was kept up daily with minimal seaweed. Sand was soft and clean. There was lots of chairs around the pools. The staff worked effortlessly to ensure guests were well taken care of. I can’t wait to go back to this resort. First time in Mexico and the memories I have will last a life time! Thanks to my travel agent Heather for suggesting this resort that matched all my wants in a vacation!!!!

Great resort - horrible beach water

The Ocean Coral and Turquesa is a very nicely laid out resort, with 4 pools (1 Adult only, 2 general pools and a children's pool) The El Beso (adult only) room was recently renovated, and well appointed, with a shower, bathtub and private toilet area. spacious room with a couch and desk area. Lots of plug-ins and USB connections for those electronics in our lives! Of the 6 restaurants, 3 required reservations (all done through the Ocean Coral app) and provide a great selection of choices. Ja [... read more]panese grill; Italian; Mexican; Brazilian skewers; Romantic Dining and a burger shop. The Villa Marina (Brazilian) was being renovated for most of our trip, but it opened in time for us to enjoy. The buffet offered numerous choices daily, with vegetarian, gluten free meals available. And their dessert section was delicious! The only complaint we and many others had, was the color of the ocean water at the beach. Not sure if this is an ocean current situation along that coastline, but the water was brown for 1/2KM from the shore. The amount of sargassum washing up daily was cleaned as best they could. Overall, a great 2 weeks (Nov 24 - Dec 8) relaxing at this resort, great options for day beds, pool chairs, and beach palapas/chairs, never an issue finding a place to sit. Walking the beach into Puerto Morelos takes approx. 1 hour, and lots to see along the way.

Beautiful resort

This is a lovely resort that caters to all ages . The food is superior. Westjet needs to get more organized with airport transfer to the resort. We were 24 km from the resort and it took 2.5 hrs of travel to get us there. Ridiculous.

Fantastic Resort

Second time at Oceans Coral and Turquesa in last year and a half and not a member of the H10 club. A very well maintained property. Easy to get around. Awesome service from the buffet to the individual restaurants.

Lovely resort

Good food, very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Wonderful time,lots of activities, pool was very clean, coffee bar exceptional. Beach was okay, no sargassum.went with friend had an amazing time.

Great resort for the price point

Rooms were nice and clean. Good size resort. Buffet was good. Staff was friendly. Fairly quiet. Because of the risk of jellyfish and spiky fish there was a red flag (almost all resorts). No ocean swim

Good time even with Rainy weather

So we arrived at 1130 pm, air transst did great job making sure our whole bus included all us to hotel, I had asked for ground or 1st level ,their English needed a little polishing, finally they mentioned was an elevator and got 3rd floor Jr suite. Looked great and had personal items in bathroom supplied appreciated The main lobby had multi level past bar area which could use some markings where the ceramic tiles are all same colour..00 it drops plus 12 inches ,my hubby luckily lande [... read more]d on his feet when he walked off level. Night entertainment was fine fire wand show Abba tribute and bingo /casino which was only for the French population,karaoke... Restaurants where well supplied with food choices Alot of rain and water on outdoor hallways big slip fall risk - staff tried to keep up but should have had a wet vacuum, All week had to watch not to fall around water from 3 rainy days, Reservations for a la cart were very tricky to manage, air transat rep didn't help with any of that HAD to use the hotel app and air transatapp which .y phone had no room to add another app to.. Finally I got 3 booked Beach was good once they cleaned it from the 3 previous days of rain Pools were great, drinks were very good not consist between indoor lobby bar and pool bar tho LAST MORNING AFTER RAIN STORM MOST oF NIGHT we had 1/2 room with water lying on floor I slipped and fell and hit my head I went to lobby and told them I wasn't impressed but they probably didn't understand told them I hit my head and asked 2 different people for an ice pack but they looked baffled... our ride to airport was going in 15 min Anyways went home to nurse the lump for 5 dsys Air transat - good for plane , but on way home should have handed out declare card 1/2 hour before landing poor decision as we were disembarking to give then Could have been more helpful at hotel no meeting and the timeshare people in lobby had to tell us where to find them Price was good for one week but was surprised how they didn't make their presence known once arrived Happy with trip central booking assistance thank you Wendy. Sorry fir the rant but most people have to watch their physical self to carry on after the holiday and being a nurse just me.

Great employees

Beach: The beach is very nice to go for a long walk. Food: In general the food is good to very good and the employees are dedicated to giving customers a good service. BAD: They have closed 2 outdoor restaurent/buffets and have limited access to one of the best outdoor ones which included a quiet pool area that is now part of the beso/priveledge group. We ended up eating most meals in the general indoor buffet area except for when we were able to get reservations for the restaurants.  [... read more] The bathrooms need to be redone (especially shower), same for the beds although some rooms have new mattresses and they seem to have started renovating a few rooms. The beach is now reduced to approximately 20-30 feet wide when the tide is low and can rise up to the beach chairs which are now right in front of the flower bed area. There is only one row of palapas available due to the loss of beach frontage.

Very nice resort

had a great stay, the people were very friendly and helpful, wheelchair accessibility was excellent, made the trip easy! Beach is nice, grounds and rooms kept spotless, great variety of food, plentiful drinks, lots of lounges by the ocean and pools.

Very impressed with this resort !

was very impressed with this Hotel. Its run by a great organized team that puts customer experience and service as top priority. My family experienced a luxurious, clean, fun and relaxing vacation for a great price . Very impressed with Staff and service, they were all so helpful and friendly. They all went above and beyond to make sure we all felt taken care of . The waiters, chefs and bartenders , all service staff were phenomenal . All very attentive and friendly . Every day they had different variety of dishes to choose from , i never got bored of eating . We were there on halloween and they made custom halloween dishes for people to try, It was the cutest thing ever . The rooms were also very clean , modern bright and spacious and house keeping was always on point . The entertainment was also lots of fun ! Every day from morning to night there is always something going on for the families . From cooking classes , volleyball , soccer , fun games amongst other things to do . They have a weekly and hourly calendar that is posted on the wall that shows all their events . The entertainment shows at night were a lot of fun to watch, they had professional dancing shows , circus acrobats , karaoke and so much more . The hosts were very energetic as well . From 10:30 pm 12:00 every night they had a kid friendly outdoor dance party every nigh which was a lot of fun . I kind of wish they had an adult after party indoor club and dj that went on a bit later then 12 for those of us that wanted to continue to dance and party . But then again this is considered a family friendly hotel so i can see why they don’t have a club. The dj does need to work a bit on his mixing and music choices when changing songs. As it didn’t flow nicely but he did try his best still fun overall . Beach was nice and clean , although it was Seaweed season and i wish they would’ve cleaned up the seaweed more frequently to make it more aesthetically pleasing. They had lots of pool space and chairs which was nice . The Bars , ice cream parlours , fresh juice bars , coffee shops was also a nice little treat for everyone . Overall it was an amazing experience and i highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a reasonable family friendly hotel without jeopardizing any of the normal luxurious you would expect to receive . Ocean Coral Y Turquesa . You all went above and beyond for your guests and it didn’t go unnoticed . Great Job ! Will be recommending you to all my friends .
