Absolutely wonderful

We stayed in the swimsuits, Everything was fantastic! Couldn't find one thing to complain about and we tried! Even the beach even though there was some seaweed but it didnt bother us!Planning on coming back in the spring with the kids!

Home away from home

this hotel has it all. good foods, buffet and a-la carts and the snack shacks. drinks are never to far away. every evening shows at the plaza and theatre. shuttle to and back from hotel good organized. rooms are spacious and housekeeping is amazing. beaches are great but in the ocean you need water shoes because of rocky ocean floor. this was our 3th visit in a row to this hotel and we will come back again.

Great vacation!

A few restaurants were excellent, others were ok. Had an ice cream place. Beach and pool were amazing! Could hardly get family out of the ocean. Only Short drive To play del carmen. Loved the swim out option.

Good Resort, but do your research for the day trips

The hotel was good, check in took a while but it was busy enough that it was excusable. The room was good, room keeping was good but they walked in a couple times after we said not to. Language barrier I assume. The food from the buffets was mostly good, the alcohol was good and the people working at the resort were polite. The only significant issue we had was with Best Day travel agency, who helped us book a half day trip to a dolphin centre. The rep lied about details about the rules at th [... read more]e centre, which led to us having to spend extra money in order to actually participate in the activity. It was frustrating, to say the least. Overall the trip was good, and it was worth it. The resort also had an abundance of local wildlife. Nothing threatening, very nice to see and be around.

Family Resort

The beach was completely full of seaweed. This is a typical issue in the area. We choose not the go in the ocean. The pools are nice. Chill out lounge was amazing. It is more geared towards families. Expect a lot of kids around, not the best for couples. Food was decent.

Great Family resort

There are plenty of things to do with kids on the resort. The magicians and live shows were a hit with my three year old. The staff is amazing and will go out of there way to assist you. The only thing I don’t like the individuals selling time shares. They are very persistent.

HUGE RESORT! NEVER OVER CROWDED!

Loved the hotel, even at 90% capacity you wouldn't know, it was never crowded anywhere we went. Able to sit at the beach or the pool without issue. There are so many choices where you can stay depending on your situation. Eg. Family with children, couples only, groups of friends etc. The staff are very friendly. My only complaint would be the food was good but not great.

Fabulous Trip!

This resort is simply amazing, from the large grand entry way to the clean and welcoming atmosphere, it truly has it all. Great food and drinks, definitely recommend the Blue Hawaiian.. so darn delicious! Our room was massive, with a large king bed and our own private patio. We did see rooms that had their down entrance to the pool and lounger, as cool as this was we didn’t think it would be worth the extra money. Wonderful mother/daughter vacation

This resort had everything we were hoping for plus more! Beautiful grounds that are kept extremely clean, the staff are all very friendly and respectful. Entertainment crew are very social and outgoing and the evening shows are pretty good but are more tailored towards kids. Drinks were unreal! Restaurants were all amazing except for the steakhouse. Wonderful time

Amazing grounds. Swim out is well worth the upgrade. Great distance from the airport. Beyond amazing pools. Terrible beach but the seaweed isn't the resorts fault. Ok food. The buffet had good choices, the a la cart were not terrible but could be better. Good service but the bars need more staff.

Awesome Resort!

This resort was awesome! The staff were friendly and fun, the grounds were clean and all the gardens very well taken care of. Our room was nice, especially the large, modern bathroom. The activities by the pool were fun, the food was great, and so was the disco and sports bar. I would highly recommend this resort! The only negative was there was a lot of sea weed at the edge of the beach and when you first went into the water on most of the days we were there.

Incredible Resort

We just got back from 9 days at the Grand Riviera Princess. What a wonderful experience. This is our second trip in five years and we were thrilled to find the resort in excellent condition still. The pools are beautiful and there are party pool, quiet pools, swim up bars, a pirate ship pool for kids. There is a beautiful beach and the hotel does a great job keeping on top of the seaweed. We ate at different restaurants in the resort every night. We enjoyed the gym daily and loved the Pilates classes.

Kid-friendly, family-oriented resort

This is our 2nd time at this resort. The hotel has several pools, has a kids club with splash pad and park. There is an amazing beach and you can walk for miles in both sides. The evening shows cater to the kids. There are Disney themed live shows which are quite good. They had a magician doing magic tricks at your table during breakfast and a really cool ice cream parlour. The rooms were very large. We had bunk beds with a trundle bed which fit my family of 5. Great resort for the whole family!

This resort is massive! With four hotels in one, it’s no wonder the resort in so large. However, there are shuttles every 15 minutes to take you where you need to go (beach, lobby, etc.). Food was fantastic and consistent in all restaurants. Lots of activities that will keep the whole family busy! This is my second visit to the Grand Princess and I have referred many close friends to this resort as well and they loved it!

Wonderful place!

Amazing vacation at Grand Riviera Princess. Very big, clean resort. There are 7 a la card. The food in bouffet was very good all kind of food variety. The only thing is in bouffet has to be more different kind of chicken. The city was very safe. Near to Playa Del Carmen.The staff were amazing people. At the main pool there are 2 boys name Victor. the resort overall was amazing I was there once and this was my second time it has improved a lot jonathan from the from lobby was amazing he helped us out all week when he was around our private pool with a butler was so nice and a very quiet area

Amazing trip!

Was super! The food was lovely. Jonathan a worker that has been working there for 7 years; was so so amazing! Awesome employee :). The beach was beautiful and so many warm employees. So many different food choices as well :)

Large Resort - but well laid out.

Where to start? upon arrival we where dropped off at the wrong reception area. Not the resorts fault but check into Platinum ended up taking 1.5 hrs. It happens. 3rd floor room Riviera Platinum side was quite good, spacious, great balcony, hot water, housekeeping, amenities all on point. Fridge not very cold but oh well. Never a problem finding room at the beach, (where we spent most of our time) The butler there didn't come around a lot, but there was only 1 for the private area and she was bus [... read more]y. Beach rocky until you get in the water 30ft. or so. You can snorkel but there is nothing to see. Beach food was great. try the jerk chicken! A-la-cartes are absolutely the way to go. All were fantastic! Went to main buffet twice, if you do try to go early or late or it's crowded with the usual buffet folks. Some pushy & all elbows. Again no fault of the resort. Pools had lots of room although we weren't in them much. Everything was very well maintained on the grounds. Shops were good but take the shuttle to Playa if you want to save some $. Vendors in the plaza every thurs. eve. They were not to pushy and have a good selection of handmade stuff. Platinum wristbands didn't help much in common areas, tip, tip,tip! Who made this memorable? The people in the platinum lounge. (Concierge) Pablo! saw him deal with a few situations showing tact and courtesy. (Servers) Becky & Veronica, the best! Bernie! 41/2 ft. of word class shuttle driver!

Perfect 👌

Great resort, very clean and well kept grounds. Beautiful scenery! My kids loved all the wildlife on the resort. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and miss being there! The Gibson family

Beautiful resort But

The property is gorgeous. The buildings and landscaping design are one of the nicest I’ve been to. However this is quite difficult to enjoy as they allow smoking EVERYWHERE. (Except restaurants). Beach, pool side, hallways, even on our balcony in nonsmoking area all we could smell of smoke from cigars and cigarettes. The service was perfect, zero complaints about the staff. The food at all restaurants was good. The buffets were the same everyday, uneventful and just ok.
