Another great vacation at Memories Caribe

Excellent beach, caring and dedicated staff, outstanding à la Carte Restaurants and abondant food choices at the Buffet (bœuf, chicken seafood/fish, vegetables and all kind of deserts). The only thing that i would like is to have hot water in my room….

Had best time EVER

Can't say enough about this wonderful resort. We had the best time ever. The staff is beyond accommodating and will bend over backwards to ensure that your stay is perfect. We were surprised that the food was pleasantly good and we did not go without! We will definitely be returning!!!

Terrific Resort

Great resort...rooms are dated but very clean and comfortable....staff very friendly....food at A La Carte restaurants very good, buffet good but repetitive....grounds and common areas well looked after.....good and close to airport as well.....would recommend this resort and will be going again

I wish I had known….

The beach and staff were fantastic. Unfortunately, that’s where it ends. The majority of the public toilets didn’t flush or have toilet paper. When we turned the sink on in our room, cockroaches came up more than once. The wifi was unreliable at best. Our “superior” package only included wine, draft beer, rum, and maybe gin; very little mix options available. The beds were box springs with liquid proof mattress covers. The sheets weren’t changed once, just tucked back in. To get a new beach towe [... read more]l, you had to go to front desk and ask for a towel change to your room at night. The water features around the resort were stagnant and resulted in lots of mosquitoes. The desk staff clearly didn’t communicate, as every seemed clueless when returned to talk to a manager, as directed. A manager was never available.

Favourite Resort

This was our second visit in 2025 and our 10th visit to the Memories Caribe. We booked a Premium Lakeview room on the top floor. We were assigned building 24. We had hot water every day and everything worked fine in the room. The resort is older and the rooms could be renovated, but they are clean and comfortable. FOOD: great variety. Beach snack bar and BBQ were great. BEACH: absolutely gorgeous with crystal clear water and clean white sand. You can walk for miles in either direction. Walking on the sandbars at low tide is such an wonderful experience. STAFF: very friendly and helpful We will definitely return to the Memories Caribe in the future.

Amazing Resort

Great resort, good drinks and nice beaches. Definitely for the older crowd so if you’re going to party i’d recommend somewhere else. But for a chill relaxing time it was amazing. ( don’t get me wrong there was still some very fun late nights ).

This was our fourth time to Cuba, and it was our favourite visit so far. We loved the resort, the beach was spectacular, and as with every place we've visited in Cuba, the staff were lovely. The food was quite good at the resort, and I loved that the bars had espresso and cappuccino machines. There was only one other resort beside us, and on the other side was a large lake and estuary. Walking along the beach in that direction was wild and gorgeous. Thanks to the nature on that side, the birds a [... read more]nd bird song around us was the cherry on the top. Make sure to pack bug repellant, though. As with many beaches and tropical countries, the tiny no-see-ums will make quick work of your legs. Once I put a bit of repellent on my legs, I didn't have a problem. Also, remember it's Cuba. There might be the odd power outage or maintenance issue. However, this resort has been the best of the lot so far! Loads of people at the resort had been going there year after year. I can see why. You can now count me among them! This place is wonderful.

Trip to Cayo Coco -- Memories of Caribe

The grounds were fine. The buffet was fine. Some days things were missing and back on the next day. Which was ok. Going to the grills and waiting for a few minutes to have something hot was amazing (beef, pork chicken, fish, pasta, rice and eggs). Not that the buffet was cod. A la cartes were good especially Asian that I was able to have a 4 course meal. The service was great in both buffet and a la carte. The rooms were spacious. We had 2 double beds in our first room and then a king b [... read more]ed in our second. The housekeeping staff were very helpful and would keep our rooms up to par. The down fall at this site was that our rooms were booked by one person and we were put in to different buildingds. Not close together. After one night and a day we were put in the same building on the ground floor. Which was good. Then when it was time to take a shower I found out that they did not have hot water in at least 4 towers and are working on it. They agreed to move us to another room in the resort but my wife said no that we moved once and she didn't want to move again . So they gave me a room I was able to go to once a day that I could have a shower. The day excursion to Moron and surrounding areas was awesome to see other parts of Cuba. Also picking up souvenirs and learning some of the history was great. At the resort the public washrooms were no always close by and some didn't have toilet

Amazing resort

The staff are so friendly and accommodating. The food, buffet and ala cartes, were excellent. The beach, the pool and the bars are all amazing. If I had to complain, it would only be the lack of hot water in the shower. First day was cold, but warm after that. It was doable

Not horrible

Troubles with hot water in bungalows, heard from others they had similar issues. Food was good like any Cuban food. Staff were amazing. Beach is small but very nice. Rooms are a bit out of date and could use some work.

Great price - beach incredible

If you are looking for a beautiful vacay for a decent cost this is a great resort but do the upgrade!! The beach is incredible, the resort food is decent, lots of amenities coffee bar, piano bar and sports bar snack bar never closes. The beach bbq is amazing and too shelf alcohol is a plus. Things I overlooked some front desk staff unfriendly, towels changed once in the week, the bugs they only love a few of us but when they do… my husband loved this resort over all other places we have been Mex [... read more]ico and Dominican.

Friendly Staff

I've stayed at this resort twice, the first time was 5 years ago and it was your typical Cuba experience, basic (but good) food, beautiful beach, friendly staff, the best coffee and barista you will find. I had the same guy both visits, you will probably find him behind the counter if you go there. Tell him "Americano and latte" say hi! There was a noticable decline in what they can offer, the shop was almost bare, the a la carte options are down to one a visit unless you purchased the premium  [... read more]package, and the alcohol options were more limited without the premium package. Toilet paper was hit or miss, you had it in your room but the public washrooms only sometimes. We knew this and brought our own but didn't need to. The resort itself is dated but clean and they certainly do the best with what they have. My only real issue was the sand fleas, they were not an issue on my first visit but definitely on the second. Oh, and nothing to do with the resort but a shout out to the smokers, can you just not in public places...including beaches? Nasty habit that affects everyone around you, it's just rude.

Wonderful Experience!

The grounds are well maintained, and the gardeners really take pride in their work. We enjoyed our walks around the property. There was entertainment throughout the day, which was lively. The workers were always pleasant, smiling, and grateful for gifts. The rooms were clean and spacious. There was plenty of options for dining, buffet (pasta, chicken, beef, pork, fish), several restaurants, pizza, sandwiches, fries, burgers or hot-dogs. I was pleasantly surprised with this resort. Great Beach and staff

Very attentive staff , enjoyed beach beauty, the a la cart meals Asian was best ,met Canadians and even French speaking All were friendly -not like in Dominican-, buffet food was very good and little shy of fruit variety but always a fresh juice available,rose wine available as an option at all evening meals , white wine was great niot too dry,snack bar - had some supply issues the menu was limited and chicken sandwich was very good, beverages- a little light on alcohol too much ice sometimes [... read more], Rooms need a little finishing touches but A/C worked and beds comfortable, t least 4 english channels on TV,

Amazing Time

We spent a week at the resort at the end of January 2025. Everything was above our expectations having travelled many times to Cuba. Rooms were clean, the grounds are beautiful, food was above expectations and the beach was utterly breathtaking.

Great while awake , no chance of sleep …

The entertainment staff was absolutely amazing , the energy there is also great . The problems I had was my room had no air conditioning and was impossible to sleep in. I went to ask for someone to fix it and they couldn’t and their resolution was for me to relocate to another resort next door. Food was good and a good selection. Beach is amazing and a nice pool. Again I got unlucky with my room but the lack of problem solving is the main issue .

ENJOYABLE RESORT

I must say that I was very pleased with "Memories Caribe Beach Resort". especially the food...yes the food. Best we've had during our many visits to Cuba! Always something to choose from, one day they even had Turkey...WOW. The "snack bar" had a great variety of sandwiches and fries too! Drink choices...the lobby bar made the best Pina-Coladas and Spanish coffee! At the beach, great pizza freshly made, not everyday however grab it when you can! Only tried 1 specialty restaurant as we alway [... read more]s find the buffet offers the best choices. Can't forget the Cafe bar.....Love!!! On the downside, rooms definitely need to be updated. They are very clean however air conditioning unit isn't good for sure. It works OK, could use maintenance for cleaning etc. Had a issue with hot water the week we were there, only in the shower. The staff tried there best and were very prompt to react to any concerns we had however they were working on plumbing on the whole resort so during this week some had hot water and some not. Entertainment: always something going on either in the theatre, around the pool, in the snack bar and buffet . Love music however would recommend perhaps when the music is playing around the pool that the snack bar turn theirs off! Spanish lessons, dance class, dancing....certainly can keep busy if you want for sure! the people, WONDERFUL...friendly...aim to please!

Older, Tired resort

This facility is tired. Older buildings, broken walkways, painted walls look old and tired. Staff maintenance on the lawns and gardens were taken care of every day we were there. They look great. Staff are super friendly, always smiling and helpful. The variety of food in the buffet was sufficient. The chefs cooking food on the grills were excellent! And tasty too. Those folks deserve a raise!

Great Beach

Loved the food here at Memories Caribe. I did feel that it was lacking things for being advertised as a 4 star. The workers here were top notch and went out of their way to help you. There is only so much you can do with a tired old resort. I would not return to this resort because 98% of the people were eaten alive by bugs. I was warned but unfortunately trip was already booked. On hindsight I should have used the cancellation insurance and booked else where. It's because of the beaches in Cayo [... read more] Coco that I go. I have never been bitten like this before in my life.. some things are not available or just not offered. Like certain premium drinks were only on offered with Diamond Club. That's a monopoly by Sunwing. As I said I would go back to other resorts all over Cuba before this one. Beach was amazing, sandbars were huge. I never set foot in the pool as I prefer the beach. And because the music is too loud at the pool.

Returning guest

Repeat guests. Better than last year regarding amount of food and a lot less flies. Still having issues with the hot water in certain buildings. Friendly staff, clean rooms. Did not have any problems with power.
