Nice resort but needs some upkeep.

First off I would like to say we had a great time at the Gran Sirenis Maya Beach, the staff was excellent. Very friendly and prompt, the food was good, there was lots of options at the buffet, the Japanese alacarte was our favorite, the ranchero steak house was very good as well. There was very little premium booze, so if that's what your looking for maybe choose another resort or get the members club upgrade. Not a big deal for us, but maybe for some. My daughter loved the lazy river!  [... read more]The pools were big but they are badly in need of repairs, the glass tiles that make up the pool liner are all falling out. My daughter cut her toe on one. I saw another guy with the medical staff with what looked to be a bigger cut. The kids were making a game of diving for the loose tiles at the bottom of the pool and piling them up on the side of the pool deck. The beach is not as nice as some other stretches of the riviera, it consists of three small coves with a rocky outcrop in between. The southern most cove was covered in piles of seaweed for the entire time we were there. The staff had an army of people out trying to clear it but the ocean was definitely winning that battle. That to be said there were still lots of people in the ocean as there are lots of fish to be seen. The northern most cove has a much nicer beach and the ocean floor is not rocky like the other cove. Our rooms were big and clean, we had a balcony with a view of the ocean that was very nice. The weather was spectacular, hot and sunny all week! Overall the place was fine, however for the money there are nicer places on the riviera.

Great resort, beach disappointing

The resort was great, a la carte fantastic, beach disappointing. Great for snorkelling. For swimming or long walk on the beach, not recommended. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. SPA technicians were great. Very large resort. I would not return due to the beach. However, for some that prefer snorkelling, it is an excellent spot for sea turtles.

Adequate All Inclusive

Grand Sirenis all inclusive resort delivers what one would expect from a moderately priced property on the Mayan Riviera. The buffet food was pretty good and the al a carte restaurants were OK. The grounds were very nice and well looked after. The amenities available after dinner were somewhat sparse and a little boring so returning to one's room and curling up in front of the TV often seemed to be the best option. Speaking of the beach all of the Mayan Riviera is suffering from an influx of seaweed covering the shoreline. The resort tried to keep the beach clean but the weed kept coming and fouling things up. Overall a pretty good resort but there are plenty of other options.

Beautiful Resort!

This is a large resort, with the grounds spread out, so be prepared to walk off your delicious meals, as the guest carts are few and far between. That being said, the grounds are beautiful!! When wearing the appropriate shoes, the walking was not a chore, but a pleasure! The staff was amazing, the rooms clean and the bar and wait staff accommodating and always going the extra mile to please! We really enjoyed our time and will be back!

Good times!!!

Very nice resort. Good food, lots to do, and lots to see. Take the time to find out everything that is offered so you do not miss anything. Party pool and quiet pool gives you choice. High waves every day kept us from enjoying the ocean the way we would have liked to. People working there - so nice and helpful.

Great place

Friendly helpful staff loved the layout. Tripcentral rep Diane was amazing getting me in on such short notice. My mother required a wheel chair and consieur took care of getting one delivered and picked up after. place is wheel chair accessable.

Fun fun fun

This holiday was so much fun for the kids. There was so much to do at the resort it kept them busy so we could do some relaxing. The rooms were large and comfortable. The pools were kept very clean. The snorkelling in the ocean was great. The food was fantastic. It was very close to many cool excursions as well. Like swimming with dolphins. Overall we all had a perfect vacation.

Great Resort!

Hotel was clean and high quality. Staff were accommodating, highly energetic, and polite. Food variety was better than other hotels and quality was good. Activities offered were nice - dolphins were on site and affordable so that was also a plus. Only potentially negative point is that the resort is about an hour and a half from the airport. This could also be considered a plus as it means you are contained to the hotel once you arrive and avoid spending additional money :)

Great resort, best resort service I've ever experienced

The resort is spread out, 3 pools and the beach and there will be some walking. This balances well with the amazing food. If you need anything just ask. The staff will amaze you At every request, honest, just ask.

Love it

I like that it is in the middle of a conservation area, the service is excellent and it is very spacious, good atmosphere and the shows were spectacular. The bedrooms are a good size, but I would like the rooms to have ocean views. The most enjoyable things were the sky bar, the BBQ on the beach and the lazy river.

Amazing resort

The hotel was very clean and the rooms and spacious and confortable. We never had an issue with bugs in our room either. The resort is full of entertainment by the pool bar. Food was also wonderful! I would defiantly stay at this resort again and recommend to others.

Terrific resort

The hotel was great, the staff very friendly and professional, it made the stay very comfortable. The food was awesome. Pools were great and the installations were very clean. Overall my stay was wonderful.

Wedding week

My daughters wedding was held on the beach at the resort. The staff and everyone made her day a day to remember. Couldn't be happier with everything. The staff went out of their way to make sure you had the most enjoyable time. The servers at the buffet always greeted us with their happy smiles.

A Beautiful Resort

The resort staff, food, rooms, were all amazing. The only disappointment was the shuttle service. Always promised a shuttle would be coming right away but we usually waited over 1/2 Hour. We would end up walking. Pool parties were awesome🍻🍻🍻😉

Huge resort!

The service was excellent, and the location is perfect, between Tulum and Playa del Carmen. The place feels more like a little town than a resort and so many activities that you could do, from watching dolphins to kayak and nature walks

Not as good as before

This was our third time at the resort. We were there last in 2012. The resort grounds are beautiful. The beach used to be pretty with great snorkeling but I think a storm must have wrecked havoc on the beach and reef. The staff are amazing. The food..not so good. Too much catering to the Brits. I grew up in England and I really don't want to travel to Mexico to eat bangers and mash. Wildlife on resort is nice. Sad that the reef has disintegrated and disappointed in food. Can't do that when kids are pushing by and swimming around you. I have 3 active boys and I wouldn't allow this.

Wonderful Family Trip in May/17!!

Our family loved the Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach! The rooms were perfect for our family - spacious and clean! We loved the garden view. We also enjoyed the grounds. There were lots of animals to see every day! We are beach people so we spent most of our time at the beach! It is awesome! There are tons of pallapas on the beach so there is always shade and the snorkling is wonderful! We swam with turtles right off the shore and we swam with tons of fish! Our favourite restaurant was the Italian restaurant. We are planning on a return visit in November! We are very excited to head back to this resort!

It was OK

The resort was very large with a lot of walking involved. The rooms were large and clean and the AC worked well as long as you remembered to keep the patio door latched closed. The beach area was a bit rocky with hard sand. Pools were very large but have tiles missing from them throughout the pool. The food was good and plenty full. There was a few spots on the main walk ways that had a strong sewer smell. All in all not a bad spot for the price.

Big Place but Nice

The hotel was overall very nice. Food , service, cleanliness was good. Beach was rocky but some sandy , softer spots. One thing , the Bride and Groom should have received an upgraded room. Their room was the same as ours but they didn't even have the glass part separating the bathroom. We saw an upgraded, ocean view room and we feel that the newlyweds should have had that kind of room.

We Loved this Resort!

This resort was amazing and surpassed our expectations for vacation as well as our wedding. The grounds were beautiful and everything was very natural. The staff were so kind and always greeted you with a warm smile. I feel very fortunate to have had our wedding at this location.
