The resort was ok at best

Rooms were nice people were not the nicest very rude I though some people were awesome but they were over shadowed by the rude ones like we were inconveniencing them most of them were in the buffet. The locals being there for 2 days really sucked at no one paid attention to us at all just the locals. I wouldn’t have went there if I knew that . Great time

Second time to Royalton Splash, quality property and a great time. There are 2 hotels on this property - you will need to upgrade to Diamond Club if you want good food/drinks, and access to pools close to the beach, and better areas on the beach (cleaner, better service, close to bars). Worth the upgrade. There weren’t many Covid protocols (99% of staff didn’t wear a mask, hand sanitizer stations were always empty, had to carefully select cups and plates from the buffet).

Our trip to Royalton Splash Punta Cana (April 2022)

We stayed at the Royalton Splash Punta Cana for 8 days in April 2022. This was our first trip with our 3 year old and we had paid for the best package which was the Junior Suite Jacuzzi Diamond Club. Firstly what I can say is that the Diamond Club "extra" is not worth it... ok we had the "private" check in upon arriving however a few families were in line thus, it took longer to check in than the "regular" clients that checked in at the front desk. Also, this lounge is very far away from the roo [... read more]ms so, it is easier to grab a drink at the pool, bar or coffee lounge than to walk over there for the snacks and drinks/coffee they are offering daily. Additionally, the "butler's service" was awful... we met him on the 2nd day and gave him a fair good amount of tip. We thought this would encourage a good service for the week... we thought wrong! This butler told us he would take care of every night's "à la carte" dinner reservations... Given we have a toddler, we asked for the dinner reservations to be before 7:30. They exchange with clients with the "what's app" and we had to ask him numerous times per day at which restaurant we would be eating that day and at what time... sometimes it would take 2, 3, 4 messages before he would respond and we could have a response at 5PM/6PM and, for the entire week, our reservations were at 8:30PM. Even with a complaint to the "butler's supervisor", nothing changed... It would have been easier to book them ourselves. We got nothing more from this "butlers service" that week. No extras attentions... and the "premium alcool" is not available at the Splash... you have to cross over to the Royalton Punta Cana to access a "VIP" lounge and enjoy the premium bottles (which is a 10-minutes walk). The diamond club pool is very small and doesn't have much chairs. Overhaul the hotel is nice and clean. The main pool is at the centre of all the building thus, very accessible. If you want a chair by the pool, you need to put your alarm clock early... at 7AM they were all taken! Same for the beach no matter if you have the diamond club or not. To access the beach, you need to cross over to the royalton Punta Cana which as I said before, is a good 10-minutes walk. You can take the mini bus (but during the day or at dinner time, you will be lucky if you have a spot on it thus, you have to be patient- we found it easier to just walk). As for the restaurants, 3 of them are at the Splash and the rests are at the other hotel (royalton punta Cana). We tried almost all of them and we were never disappointed! The theatre and entertainment is also at the other hotel. Not much entertainment at the splash at night... we had an outdoor area to enjoy a few drinks after dinner and that's about it. The coffee place is very nice and the pastries and coffees are amazing! As for the buffet, personally there wasn't much choices and almost none for toddler's. The buffet at the royalton Punta Cana was WAY more attractive and they had a LOT more to offer... we ended up eating breakfast at the Splash and lunch at the Royalton Punta Cana. The service at the buffet of the splash was OK... not to say bad... at breakfast, you were lucky if you had a cup of coffee or water before you finished your plate. The waiters always seemed in a bad mood... 1/2 the time we didn't get a hello or a smile. This was a first for us... total different story at the buffet of the royalton Punta Cana. As for the room, on the first night, they made a mistake and we had 1 queen bed instead of 2... my husband ended up sleeping on the couch that night. Also, the room floor was covered with water (it was raining)... so our first night wasn't the best! The next day we transferred in another room. It was clean and spacious HOWEVER, the shower hadn't been cleaned as I found a bunch of long hair in the floor and walls... YUCK! I wrote a note the next morning and gave a generous tip to the cleaning lady asking to clean the shower which she didn't... after 3 days the hairs were still there and we ended up throwing them away ourselves. Beside that we had towels, water and a clean room the whole week. As for the water park, we didn't spend time over there... unfortunately little kids cannot go in the big slides even if accompanied by an adult and the little kids section did not interest him. It was pretty nice but you need to arrive EARLY if you want a chair. So overhaul, we spent way more time at the other royalton and if we were to redo it, I would definitely book at the royalton punta Cana as it gives you access to the royalton splash anyway... we are not deceived but, we were expecting a bit more considering the amount we paid for this trip.

Would never go back!

Royalton Splash is not what it used to be according to past reviews. Quick recap: great beach, food ok, service very bad. Not worth the $ not upgrading to Diamond Club. Royalton Punta Cana is much better!

Amazing beach but not a 4+

Travelled from March 14 to 21 2022 Although the beach was amazing, the lack of service and average food would not make me come back, not a 5 stars or 4.5. If you can afford it stay at the Punta Cana next door. Beach: hotel not directly on the beach, a 10min walk through the property and Punta Cana hotel to get there. BUT beautiful, has a big sandy area, clean. Ocean was amazing...Best part of the trip. Not enough chairs, by 7:15 all gone. Lots of waves.  Pools: has 2 pools, Slides are  [... read more]nice but closes at 5pm. Food: buffet has choices but repetetive, food average. Most food was warm to cold, meat always overcooked. Cafe shop has good coffee. Mexican was good, Italien not so much. Seafood was good but meat and fish over cooked. We ate at Punta Cana buffet our last night, big difference in food and service. Rooms: big and clean. Patio door has no screen. Shower has no door. First 2 days no new towels until we called several time and then had to tip someone to get some. Weather: HOT during the day, windy at night but nice. Service: check-in awful, restaurants very very slow, beach area not much service in blue chairs area. Everyone looking for tips if you need any help. Took them 2h check us in. Not sure if they were understaffed or staff lacking training or impacts of covid as friends went 4 years ago and they said it doesn't compare. Property: clean, beautiful. Lobby is more an entry point, not typical lobby where you can hang out, you have to go to the Punta Cana one. Entertainment: only music and signing at splash, shows are at Punta Cana. Same type of shows like other resorts, nothing exciting.

Poor resort

Dull and lackluster, this resort took over 4 hours one night to come and unlock our room. Kids were sitting outside til after 1am. We were upgraded to the Royalton which was much better, although we couldn't be given a DC room. Will never book at Splash again.

Royalton splash resort review

Water park was great! Lifeguards at the top and bottom of each slide. Rooms were ok, beds were uncomfortable, food was not good. A la Carte restaurants were recycled buffet food not enough selection for kids. Activities at the pool We’re not geared for kids.

Fantastic week off

Hotel was good, a little mess in the room with water keeps coming out of the washroom when anyone took shower but overall it was goo. Good was great, the staff was awesome and humble… extremely helpful. We had a great week off!

Awesome time at The Splash DC

We very much enjoyed our stay here. We are seasoned travelers but not unrealistic in our expectations! I believe the Splash is a 4* but the PC side is closer to a 5* That being said, we (family of 4 in the family suite upgraded to DC) like the splash side but appreciate the PC side. We were in building 25 facing the pool. It was a bit quieter which we liked. Our kids are 9 and 13. There was so much to do even on the splash side! We did the VR room and the Escape room. We preferred the DC lounge coffee in the am! We ate lunches on the PC side and could tell the level of food difference in the buffet. However the food was good at either place. Lots of choices. We actually loved the walk from the Splash to the PC side. The nature and atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing! The grounds were well kept and the nature was great. Lots of stores to grab last minute necessities. The beach was fabulous! The DC lounge areas (beach side) were also great. DC has their own area for drinks, but we didn’t use it very much. We LOVED the steak house!! The Japanese was a fun experience. The Mexican was okay. Towel service was also great. I hate HATE being hounded about towels, since we are not the type to travel to a hotel to steal a used towel. They did not hound us at all ever!! Be respectful and put your towel in the bins! Every time. Tons and tons of places to hang out at night, depending on your wants. Quiet, or noisy. Hope this helps! Some service was bad, others were great. We are good tippers to good service and don’t let poor service ruin our fun. We upgraded the family suite to DC upon arrival. I can tell you I was VERY annoyed with my “butler” and his inability to be helpful. They communicate via WhatsApp - but when I asked for him to book an a la cart with another room, he said he couldn’t. BUT I was able to do it myself after he told me he couldn’t. The other room wasn’t Diamond Club, BUT that didn’t stop me. So, it shouldn’t have stopped him. So you can see, I didn’t let that ruin my vacation. He lost tips because of it. None the less, the resort, the stay, the overall experience was awesome. We will be returning and likely staying on the splash side again with the DC upgrade.

Awesome resort , awesome staff!

The resort is super nice and the staff is amazing , especially the vibe team member Junior ! He always made our experience at the pool fun! Food was delicious and fresh. Waterpark is fun for all ages .We paid 15 $ pp for a la carte on the Royalton PC side and was well worth it, Good food and service was amazing. Highly recommend the resort. Always something to do. Only problem we had was TV in one room stopped working and had to contact the front desk several times to fix it.

Very nice property

We loved our stay at the Royalton Splash. Rooms were spacious and clean and the suite with bunk beds for the kids was great. The food was an 8 /10. We upgraded to the diamond club on arrival and I’m glad we did or we would have been stuck with one buffet and two a la carte restaurants the entire week. The only frustrating part was that certain ones could make reservations and others could not which led to lengthy delays. Great week at Royalton Splash!

I really enjoyed my week here and the hotel was good. The hotel room was very nice, air conditioned and clean. The only complaint I had was that I was cold the first night; however as soon as I called, the staff immediately brought more blankets. The customer service was excellent, specifically Darleny who made our experience so much better! The water park was a lot of fun and it is not crowded during the week. The food was good as well especially Zen, the Japanese restaurant. The buffets were okay. The only problem with the food was that on the weekends the resort is extremely busy so the wait time for the restaurants on the Royalton splash side were extremely busy and both the a la carts had a two hour wait. I cannot complain though because as soon as we contacted the customer service lady, Darleny, she arranged for us to eat at dorado which was excellent. There is a bit of a weird class system with different coloured wristbands though which is frustrating because had we not contacted customer service the other staff would not allow us to eat at the Royalton Punta Cana. Overall, I got to relax and the experience was good. I would come back!

Great Resort

The staff were amazing, from Papi Honffi making sure we always had drinks, to Ramon delivering them to us on his head! (Yes, it was something you have to see!!) to the whole Vibe Team making you feel so welcome and keeping the entertainment going. (Pablo really went above and beyond). Right down to the hard working ground crew, this place was a perfect get-a-way!

Punta Canada !

We stayed at the Grand Memories Splash with upgraded Black Diamond wrist bands which allowed access to the beautiful Royalton Resort next door. The resort was very clean and the grounds are beautiful with live peacocks roaming around. The splash park was great, the slides are awesome for older kids/teens. The beach is Gorgeous, and we rented cabanas by the pool which came with cold Coronas and a fruit plate. The restaurants were OK. But all the food is sourced locally which supports their econom [... read more]y so it's good you feel good eating. The entertainment was great ! They had a modanna tribute our 5 year thought was pure magic. The only downfall of the resort is the travel smart personnel will call relentless to persuade you into attending a pseudo "time share" presentation. Do not believe them when they say it's 30 minutes....it's 3 hours. But all together a beautiful resort.

Loved it

We spent a week at the beginning of December at Grand Memories Splash with two children 7 and 11 year old. We truly enjoyed it - large and clean rooms, beautiful gardens, great food and entertainment. We were worried about the walk to Royalton, but we actually enjoyed the distance (which, by the way, is a 5 minute walk) because it made the resort feel more like a mini-town and not a confined space. The waterpark was awesome, and never crowded. We would definitely return.

Awesome Resort

Let's just say my family and I had a wonderful time during our stay. We stayed Diamond Club...worth every penny. The rooms were very clean and very spacious. The restaurants and the food was great. The staff at the restaurants were fantastic. The grounds were well taken care of as were the pool and restroom areas. All staff were polite and willing to help with all of your needs. Definit vacation spot.

This resort had everything a family needs from the waterpark to the beaches nightly entertainment kids and teen clubs where a hit with the kids the pools had entertainment all day long would like to of had some music in the diamond club pool it was to quite.

Incredible place to be

We absolutely loved the resort! There was tons of different things to do on the grounds, rooms were beautiful and staff was great. The food at the buffet, pool bars, room service and a la carts were all delicious and there was a wide variety of alcoholic options.

Perfect Vacation

The entire vacation was amazing. The diamond club experience was perfect and the staff went above and beyond to treat us like special guests. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Punta Cana
