Great Resort

Most of the resort was excellent....there was a few things I didn't like. They did not have enough evening shows. Punta Cana Breathless had way more shows and entertainment compared to Cancun Breathless and the entertainers were more hands on with the guests. The fridge in the room was warm so nothing cold to drink which was not good we did ask them to fix the fridge but nothing was done. Very good value for the price paid

We were very fortunate to get a pretty good price on this vacation as we booked it only 10 days before departure. The highs - the pools were great...clean, heated and lots of activity. Service was exceptional in all areas from bars, to restaurants, housekeeping, etc. Food was good, not excellent but we were certainly never hungry. Rooms were amazing - very clean, comfortable and incredible shower! Only 20 minute shuttle to airport and ground transportation was very well organized. The low [... read more]s - the beach was pristine and well maintained but you could not go in the Ocean due to the seaweed. Pools are on the beach so its not a big deal. Dinner in specialty restaurants (especially French) took inordinately long time. All in all, a great value for under $2k....but I dont think I would pay more than that.

A nice place if you like to party

The good: Modern hotel, nice rooms, many restaurants to choose from and the food is pretty good. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The bad: The beach is terrible. Nobody swims in the ocean at this resort. The water is filled with sea weeds and the water is an awful brown color. You can't stroll along the ocean front much beyond the hotel because the coastline is filled with rotting seaweed and rocks. The music played at this resort is very annoying after a while. It's a const [... read more]ant droning of drumbeat mixes with no vocals. It's everywhere you go, from the gym to the poolside. In the Xcelerate section of the hotel, the music is so loud that it's unpleasant to sit in the beach chairs alongside the pool. I was a DJ for many years and I can tell you that the volume level exceeded what would be normal in this situation. Your ears should not hurt after sitting by the pool for an hour. The disco bar is no different, the music is excessively loud (bring a DB meter and you'll see what I mean) but that's more to be expected than at the poolside. If you are the type that spends all day with a drink in your hand in the pool, you'll fit right in with this crowd. Lots of people having a good time, yelling and cheering in the fine dining restaurants, celebrating birthdays or pre-wedding parties. You are also pretty isolated at this hotel, other than one other hotel next door, there is nothing for many miles. You have to drive for 20 minutes before you encounter civilization.

Upbeat, Upscale and Fun

Both the staff and the facility are fantastic at Breathless Riviera Cancun. The resort is brand new and features all of the modern amenities that you can think of. We were also very pleased with the ambiance and the food at the restaurants. The only negative on our trip was the beach (rocky and lots of seaweed).

Exhausted

The scenery, service and look of the hotel was amazing, but the hotel acoustics were made for a concert environment in that if you need sleep you can only really do so between 4 a.m. - 9 a.m. when the music stops and everyone goes "home"..unless of course you can sleep while being out at a night club. When I got to my room after being awake and travelling for hours I was completely exhausted but couldn't nap due to the noise that came from all sides. The almost constant tech/electeonic music pum [... read more]ping, people talking, yelling, squealing that I could hear in the room was extremely frustrating and it grated on my nerves due to a lack of sleep. Closing the curtains, covering my ears and putting a towel at the bottom of the door did nothing to drown out the noise. Having the entertainment everywhere is a poor design. I've never been to any hotel or resort where the entertainment wasn't contained or separate from the rooms. The joke is I chose an adult only hotel to avoid the noise of kids...walking down the beach past the other hotels that had kids seemed quieter. I waited some time to take this trip and could have gone anywhere so I was very excited when I arrived and saw the beauty of the place but that quickly turned to the biggest vacation disappointment I've ever had. I'd only recommend this hotel to someone who wants to be up all day and night partying. I have a very demanding profession and lots of personal responsibilities so in my getaways I need a balance and physical divisions between sleep and play so I highly doubt I'd ever return.

Perfect Vacation

We arrived at the hotel Mid afternoon and were promptly greeted with champagne and cool towels. We stayed on the xhale club which was perfect for those wanting a quiet area. Loved every minute and would definitely return .

Great resort

This resort has everything you want good food and entertainment three pools to match your mood ...the party pool was mostly self absorbed selfie takers but the other pools were very good atmosphere Food was good and the restaurants being open till 11 have a decent chance to go to dinner after a hard day of relaxing

Foamy Fun

Lots of action (if you want it it). Beautifully clean resort with amazing staff. Always joking and having a good time the staff seem like they really enjoy what they do which is refreshing. The restaurants were awesome and we were able to visit each one. We never ate at the buffet in the evening but I'm sure it was good as the breakfasts were great. Top notch resort for a solo getaway ***with a caveat - see below

Beautiful resort, amazing service, great food, yummy drinks. The only issue I had was the noise level and not having a clear understanding of the different types of resort rooms and areas. So let me help you out... Excelerate Area - this is considered the party zone. I knew this ahead of time and made sure I didn't book in this area. Allure - I booked my room in the Allure zone thinking I would be no where near excelerate. Once I got to the resort, I realized that one side of allure ma [... read more]kes up the U shape of the excelerate area. My beautiful, corner ocean front suite was right above the DJ booth. After talking to the Front Desk, I decided to move rooms (sad to lose my corner suite but more than happy to have some peace and not hear the Techno beat that starts at 9 am). Xhale - This area is considered the quiet zone (and it is quiet) but comes at a premium cost. I could have switched over to this area for an additional $150 USD/night. I travelled on my own and felt safe in the resort and beach areas. Security is posted at either end of the beach to monitor activities and resort guests (no bracelets, so nice). I met a lot of wonderful people from all over – mostly Canadians, Americans and some Europeans. Due to north winds and the lagoons nearby, the ocean was not the usual turquoise that the Mayan Riveria is known for, it was dark and wavy. Not sure how long this will persist but it was about the same for the 7 days of my stay (Nov 11-18)

BEST VACATION AND RESORT EVER!

Amazing resort

Beautiful resort with amazingly friendly staff. All restaurants were amazing, especially Silkcity (we went 3 times at this restaurant). Rooms were very clean spacious. Would go back to this resort in a heartbeat.

Wonderful resort

First and foremost this was a spectacular resort. I will list the pros and cons: Pros: -Stunning grounds and rooms -Extremely pleasant, accommodating, kind staff. Language not an issue. -Very clean and safe. No worries about use or drinking of water but did stay away from trying water from room tap. -Weather amazing. Loved the Italian. Never went to French though. -Room service surprisingly good for dinner anyway. Breakfast not so good. -Swim out room pretty but would not do again. Water in swim out very cold. Also may have comtributed to the extreme 24-7 humidity. Shower in middle room didn't help either. -Needed a makeup mirror in bathroom. I know this sounds petty but mirror very deep away from edge counter and lighting poor around room to use other mirrors. -Fitness Center definitely geared for males. Lowest weight 7.5 lbs. and machines scaled for larger people. Nice and clean and up to date though. -Xcelerate pool brings with it a different crowd. I didn't think I would mind the fact that there are topless women but it did have the feel of a cheesy swinger-like area with women up dancing topless and kind of strutting their stuff. Either way one knows when going to that pool that that may have that feel I guess so personal choice. -pushy attempts to cell spa coupons. Pleasant interactions yet don't want to be co tinually asked if we want to go to the spa. -Beach not good at all. We knew this going into the trip but as not beach people decided to book anyway. Thing we didn't consider was negative effect on view and inability to walk he beach in am or during time there. -nightlife so-so. Show each night at 10-1030 in theatre like room and the After Dark fun smaller venue for dancing. Really resort winds down by 11. Overall I definitely would recommend this resort. Was a wonderful 7 days there. Resort has a lot to offer and staff delightful. The 3 pool choices offers something for everyone or, in our case, the opportunity to mix it up some.

Wondrous location, not enough superlatives

Everything was so beautiful from accommodations to grounds to beach.to pools to restaurants. Have only one criticism and that is that you play music in each restaurant appropriate to the country whose cooking is served. This would set the atmosphere. Forget the rock n roll and heavy base.

Very loud all night party!

Clean, fun resort with fabulous food! BUT the all night pool/beach party on Saturdays is no joke. Our room was in the 5000 building on the party pool side and the music blared ALL NIGHT until 7am. Even with earplugs it was like sleeping next to a loud speaker. There were only a handful of people down at the party, so not sure why they needed to have the music that loud all night long!...I can understand if we were the only ones not at the party, but there was barely anyone. Other people who had [... read more] rooms surrounding this pool reported sleeping on the floor in the bathroom, hoping the added door would insulate from the noise...it did not! The hotel staff were actually quite rude and didn't seem to care much about the complaints they were receiving...just laughed and/or ignored you. We were told that the party is also for local people coming in from other areas, who paid a small fee to come party at our resort for the night. We had a tour booked for the next morning with a 7am pickup time, which we went up to the lobby and had the hotel staff change at 4:30am, since we had not yet had a wink of sleep at this point. The beach isn't great. It is hard (almost like concrete with a bit of sand on top). There are hedges that partially block the view from the beach chairs and the water has quite a few rocks. The hotel grounds and pool areas are very clean. The service by the pool is good...always someone walking around asking if you want a drink...but there are also many bars so you can easily grab a drink yourself. The hotel rooms are very clean and comfortable. The food and service in the a la carte restaurants is very good and no reservations are required...first come, first serve. The alcohol is all premium brands. We were there for 10 days (arrived Sunday morning and departed Tuesday evening) and really enjoyed our stay up until the pool party night...the lack of sleep threw off the last few days of our trip and the lack of concern from the staff was off-putting. The entertainment staff were very friendly, but the rest of the staff in the lobby, coffee shop and some bars were very rude. We would not go back to this resort.

Look no further !!!

O.K. finally found the resort that has it all !!!! Seriously, a quiet area to soak in the sun and surroundings ; Another, somewhat crowd mixer and yes, the "party Pool" !!! So you are the boss of deciding what mood you're in and what you are looking for at that very second and minute of each and every day..... totally kept bouncing back and forth from the party pool area to the relaxed area............just not as young as we used to be........L.O.L. Perfect Getaway

This is the best resort I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. So much fun, all top notch amenities great food and the service was absolutely top notch! We simply just did not have enough time within our 7 days to see and do all this amazing resort has to offer next year we are going for 10.

Fantastic Time and Beautiful Resort

The hotel was new, the staff extremely friendly and there were lots of them. The food was excellent and the drinks were top notch. The entertainment was constant and fantastic! I would definately go back.

Amazing 10 night stay

We wanted a higher quality experience and we got it! We stayed for 10 nights. Every staff we encountered were happy and super friendly. The atmosphere was very laid back and comfortable, young, and social. Expect to make friends easily. Food was amazing, even the buffet was super impressive quality and choices. Freshly squeezed limes made all the margaritas. We recommend upgrading rooms, to the excell club for sure. Gym was great. We found a perfect 10 km run that we did almost every day from th [... read more]e resort that ran parallel to the coastline. This hotel line makes you do a long informational session upon your first visit to try to sell you on an Unlimited Membership. It's a really nice hotel, so I'm not surprised people sign up. But, don't let them take longer than 1 or 1.5 hrs if you don't want to sign up. They will try really hard to get a yes from you. But it wasn't for us and you can leave the meeting after 1.5 hrs and still get a $200 coupon for the amazing spa! Go here! Do it now!

It's all in the name "Breathless"

Fabulous resort and experience! The staff bent over backwards to accommodate us. Food, accommodations, pools, and service, first class. My only disappointment was the condition and lack of the beach space. Lastly, our representatives from Transat and Tripcentral were awesome!!!
