Superby Service

This is my first time visiting the Caribbean. I have never visited an "all inclusive resort" before and I was impressed with the calibre of service they offered. Being a strict Vegetarian, I thought i would face obstacles but rather the chef/staff were more than accommodating to meet the needs of my family of 3. There were new varieties of food every day —fresh fruits galore!! Room service: Daily a cleaning staff would bring fresh towels and make up our bed and place 2 bottles of water in the bar fridge. I had booked the "Amnesia junior suite" with 2 double beds, with a sofa. The suite is very comfortable and you dont feel cramped in . The wash room is nice. Showerstall was perfect for those hot days to cool off. Bars: beach side and pool side No words to describe how friendly and hospitable they are to tourist. They will make any drink you like. Day or not night.. No end of liquors, as if it were flowing like water!! Cafe shop: At this resort, there is a coffee shop. Many North American tourists enjoy their dose of caffeine in the morning. The cafe would make any speciality coffees that you may fancy. Daily I would come over and get my Cappacinino and my Crossisant. Very popular spot during the day. I would like to recommend if they can extend the hrs from until 9pm rather than 5pm. In the evening,there are some of us,who enjoy a nice Night cap in the evenings. Amazing fresh pastries made daily! Beach: The team called "Viva Vibe" are staff they help with any water sports one would like to entertain while at the beach. Almost daily we would ask the staff to come an accompany us (family ) each in separate kayaks and help us navigate through the chopping waves of the Alantic Ocean. VIVA ViBE are responsible for entertainment at the resort. They perform the live shows, the night dancing and the Disco. The staff are highly skilled and very helpful. I love their "service attitude".Always smiling and will to help a helping hand if one facing any problems rendering the services at the resort. Excellent service ( 5 stars). La carte Dining: We had the pleasure of attending only 2.The rest were fully booked.The chef would prepare speciality dish for us, because we were Vegetarian. One night were had Italian.Best Italian food I have ever tasted!! Only issue is that spots fill out very quickly first thing in the morning. Can the management open up another restaurant on the premises to have 2 la carte dining at the same time with 2 separates cusines?? Everyone would like that intimate fine dining experience with "wine ,dine and candle light setting" but those slots fill up quickly!!

Small but nice resort

Upon arrival we were sent to what looked like a prison cell (not actually) but it was so small, no balcony, no sitting spot- the Bliss room. We got moved the next day, to a suite and it was much better. The resort is very small. Food was pretty decent sort of the same things each day. Small pool, so it seemed crowed at times. Wifi kicks you off often so you have to constantly sign back in. Nothing to do at night unless you wait for the disco to open at 11pm, we didn't check it out! Struggling to find itself

Before COVID this place was awesome - it WAS adults only and a classy fun place. Now they have switched to a family resort and the locals invade every weekend and they DO NOT like tourists. They keep removing items that were offered before - no more room service - no more bath towel and slippers. The hotel is struggling to figure out who they should appeal to. The hotel was hosting a Vacation Boot Camp conference when we arrived which helped the food selection and quality. The conference end [... read more]ed and the tomatoes went from beautiful red to green and red. Management seems disorganized and wasteful - they made staff setup two days for a pool dinner when we clearly had rain rolling in - both times it was rained out and switched to the indoor buffet. Reception Manager Miguel should be demoted for his inability to understand customer service and loyalty to repeat customers. Other staff are frustrated with his personality too. On the other hand Animation Manager Rafael would be a great replacement and a friendly replacement for Miguel. Staff that made the vacation good include Orelvis, Oscabelly, Yanet, Tony, Juan, Darwin and Omar. A another special thank you goes to Andrea in the Spa - always friendly and a superstar in our eyes. In conclusion - if you want Adults only with Wyndham go to Samana where you will be happy.

What a great experience!

I went on vacation with my sister, my 18 year old niece and her best friend. Our Tripcentral Rep Colleen made the whole booking experience seemless, taking care of any of our questions promptly and keeping us up to date on everything. Thank you!!! From the moment our vacation started at the airport, to arriving for a week and the return home, I can honestly say it was one of the best vacations I’ve ever had. The flight was early arriving. The hotel was amazing. Clean room, no bugs, could do [... read more] with pictures in the room, but other than that, the bed was very comfortable and we were able to control the temperature in our room with no problem. The hotel grounds were very clean and beautiful, especially the walk to the beach through the lush, tree lined walkway path. The restaurants and food were excellent. There was something for everyone and we were able to try all but the Blend restaurant. We all loved the little cafe that had iced coffee, hot beverages, wraps and pastries. It was nice when we wanted a snack. Our favourite meal was the huge bbq the one night, out by the pool. So much to choose from and delicious! The staff were always willing to help and when we needed something, we were able to ask with no problems. The beach was very clean and chairs were always available. We had no bugs until the last couple of evenings, but we had bug spray, so it was a non issue. The entertainment was very good. There were several beach vendors, but it seemed to be controlled as you were told to remember their shirt numbers if you wanted something, but if you said no, they didn’t continue to bother you. Saying that, there were several of them. Our only disappointment was that the pool was dirty from Monday to Thursday when it was cleaned and chlorine added and we used it the rest of the time.

Amazing

We loved the resort. It’s small, the food is good and staff are so amazing. Loved the entertainment team. Rooms were super clean. Beach was nice. Loved the mexican restaurant and the Italian as well.

Beautiful small resort

Everything is perfect Will go again My daughter been there 3 times. Going on your own is safe The little Café Place is so much fun. People there are really nice I have nothing negative. 7 days to 10 is enough cause a small quiet place

WILL NOT RETURN

All public areas were in good order. We opted for an 'Amnesia Suite,' which was large, comfortable and always kept clean and tidy. Service provided by the maid was outstanding. Food at the main restaurant was OK, but lacking in variety. Other restaurants we visited were also OK but the menu at these 'premium' restaurants was not too different from the main buffet. There was only one bar, which was near the pool and not very convenient if you were near the main lobby area. NEGATIVES - There wer [... read more]e no steps or hand rail to access the pool. My wife and I are senior citizens and getting into the pool was too difficult for us. We found the beach was too far from the main complex. MAJOR NEGATIVE - The constand loud 'boom boom' of the music (if you can call it that) was too much. The noise was so loud, that we had difficulty getting to sleep until after 11.00 pm. Summary - generally disappointed.

Great resort!

The entire resort are is well maintained. Great walking trails, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the room was excellent. Air conditioning was great, food was good. I would recommend this resort.

As advertised

The overall size for us was great. Everything was close and convenient. A quiet resort as well. No problem accessing good beach or pool seats, at least during our stay. An ideal location for people seeking a restful vacation. Food was satisfactory, but we found selection a bit limited. A couple of strange notes were no coffee at supper time, no bacon at breakfast. Coffee when available in morning was milk only, no cream.

Love this resort

This resort was the smallest I’ve been to but it was my favourite. The rooms are clean, food was good but the entertainment staff and bar tenders etc make this place so special. ALL the staff are amazing. Can’t wait to return

Bien

Petit resort près de l’aéroport. Tout est bien situe. Chambres sont à 2 min de la piscine, 2 min du buffet etc… Nous avons été capable d’avoir 4 restos à la carte dans la semaine. La plage est à 5min de marche et beau sentier pour si rendre. Longue plage ou on peut marcher. Serviette de plage disponible chaque matin.

Amazing Resort

We just got back from a week at Heavens. I NEVER write reviews but I have to say this was a great vacation. The resort is small, very clean, the room was excellent, the food was good but it was the staff that exceeded all expectations. Jay and Mikeson beside the towel exchange were great. A huge shout out to the animation team especially Aladdin. Also, Hector the Protector on the beach offers great excursions at great prices. We will definitely be back!

Not good at all

The resort is bad, and the food is awful. They just want to sell you the time sharing with a new name (Pay over 67000$ and become a Viva club member!) Just don't go to that place. I don't recommend it at all.

The VH Gran Ventana was a great experience

Our family had a great vacation. The staff were absolutely amazing and went above and beyond to make you feel at home and welcome. The food was very good, the rooms were very comfortable and clean and the beach and pool atmosphere were perfect. The hotel had great amenities but still felt small and quiet. I can’t say e ouch good things an out this place. I highly recommend this to anyone.

Good

The resort was a lot smaller than the pictures showed. Also it said adults only and there were a few kids. The food was ok. It was very clean. The serves were kind. The grounds were clean but the plants did not look healthy.

Not a 4 1/2 * Resort

Mini bar only has 1 SMALL bottle of water per person per day. So it’s a mini fridge not a mini bar. We asked for more water but were told NO outright. We ended up buying our water. Very very small resort. Food tasted good but selection was very limited. Desserts were awful. Only 3 kinds of fruits offered. Same ones everyday. Toiletries are a luxury I guess so bring your own. Rooms are spacious but outdated. AC was loud and constantly acting up. Beach was small and full of seaweed so we went to n [... read more]eighbouring resorts and used their beach. A la carte restaurants were good. Service staff were great. Pool needs chlorine and a good clean.

Very nice resort

This resort was very clean. The service staff were friendly and helpful. The activities were interesting. We would like to thank the entertainment staff for their hospitality especially Alladin, Izzy, Valentina and Gaby. They always interacted with us and kept us entertained. Also our maid Natalia she helped us with a clean room and good service. All in all we would return to this resort and recommend it to our friends. Thanks for a wonderful holiday.

Great stay at Viva Heavens

Hotel was way nicer than I expected. Pictures did not do it justice. Room was basic, but hotel staff were great especially the wait staff and entertainment crew. Shout out to Aladdin, Issa and Valentina!! They were wonderful and very talented. Would come back for sure.

Overall Nice Resort But Needs Some Attention to Details

Grounds are very pretty and well-maintained. Pleasantly surprised and pleased that there were no bugs considering all the lush vegetation surrounding the grounds. Pool area is lovely, clean and close to everything. It's a smaller resort, so most of the restaurants, buffet, cafe and main bar are within walking distance of rooms, lobby and pool. A couple of the restaurants are further back, closer to the beach, but it is really only a 7-10 min walk, which is nothing compared to other larger res [... read more]orts. The beach was also really nice. There were very few vendors so there was not a constant barrage of people trying to sell. Also convenient is that there is a shopping plaza about 3 mins away, walking. You can get souvenirs, beach wear, little snacks, extra drinks, water in the little shops. Entertainment team was really good - they tried very hard to get participants to join the games. There were some very nice activities throughout the week: Canadian Day, International Women's Day, Coconut Water Day - different treats and drinks offered. Some improvements required: Dining The food at the buffet was, for the most part, very good, although sometimes repetitive, especially breakfast. One has to remember that these islands don't always receive or grow a large variety of products, so the repetition makes sense. They get creative with what they have. We suggest more variety in spreads though. For breakfast, the only spread for toast is butter. There should be some jam, peanut butter, honey, anything other than plain butter. On a positive note, the buffet restaurant was also open 11pm - 7am for snacks. This is a great idea because the shows end pretty late and one is often ready for a little snack before bed. There are only 4 specialty restaurants. We went to the Dominican and Mexican ones and were not really impressed. We cancelled our reservation for the fusion blend one and stuck to the buffet, where the food was much better with more choices. The snack/lunch restaurant by the beach was large but didn't have as much selection. The choices offered were still good though. Water The hotel provides 3 small bottles of water daily. Considering the tap water is not drinkable, 3 little bottles is nothing when you have to brush your teeth, rinse, wash retainers, etc. And this is for 2 people. Definitely not enough water for more than 2. We had to ask for an extra bottle every night. Eventually, on the 3rd day, we bought a large bottle of water at the shopping plaza which allowed us enough to take care of our necessities much better. Definitely need to improve this situation, because you don't want to ingest even a little bit of the tap water. Pool Area Pool lounge chairs are so-so. The cushions slip down when you're just sitting on the chairs. This was really annoying!! Hotel should really look at replacing these. Beds/Pillows Beds are comfortable, but the pillows are HORRIBLE!. May as well not have any as they flatten to pancakes. Our necks were quite sore by the end of the week. Entertainment Although the entertainment was very good, there were often delays getting started. We missed the last night's show that was supposed to start at 9:45. It was 10:15 and nothing had yet started and we needed to get up early for our flight, so we left. It seems that 9:45 is a suggestion; show starts closer to 10. This makes for an extremely long day in the heat for the animation team; this is very unfair and almost abusive. The whole "animation team" policy needs to be reviewed. Perhaps have one team for part of the day and another team for the latter part of the day. No one should have to work a 14-15 hr day every day (apparently, they get a day off every 15 days). Not acceptable. Cleanliness of Rooms Overall, our room was done fairly well every day, however the shower was definitely not cleaned because we saw the same things in the same spot on the shower floor every day all week. We also had to leave a note for the attendant to refill the however soap dispenser mid-stay, meaning she wasn't checking regularly. Transportation To/From Airport The drive/driver, promptness were fine, however the little bus is downright awful. There is a narrow aisle in the middle which hardly fits a small child to get through. All the adults had issues getting to a seat using this aisle. Then every other seat had a huge bump on the floor, so not only was it challenging to get to a seat in the narrow aisle, but it was impossible to sit comfortably in all the seats with these bumps. Surely, something more comfortable could be offered.

Excellent Service

This was our Second Visit to Viva Heavens and it surpassed our first experience. The resort is small. The service is amazing. All the staff speak English (waiters, bar tenders, reception) and they are always smiling and happy to serve you. The food was much better and more varied this visit. Any small problem (glitchy door lock) was immediately dealt with. The resort is NOT ocean facing but accessed by a short walk along a lush path bordering a lagoon.
