Amaizing resort

We were lucky to have a room in the center of the hotel and all the places were relatively close to us. The food was very good, varied and for all tastes. The restaurants were very good and the service was excellent. The hotel workers were very helpful and friendly. The room was very good and comfortable. The beach was very good, the water was crystal clear and there was no seaweed. The pools were excellent, very clean and for all tastes. The water park was really fun but with few options. Fantastic and party central resort!!!

The facility was awesome with a lot of sun bathing chairs along the beach, there’s different restaurants and pools you can go to and the food is awesome! The service is fantastic, although the bartenders do get very busy sometimes! If you love parties and love having a good time with your buddies, come here!!!

Riu republica tons of fun

Hotel was a very lively and fun atmosphere. We had 6 rooms. All clean and AC worked great. Food was pretty good. Great resort for my bachelor party. Would highly recommend to any group looking to party

Not satisfied

The grounds were not clean enough. The drug dealers are all over the place, including on your staff. The pool water was dirty. The food was bad except for Ole which was pretty good. Bar service was very bad. The beach/ocean was amazing.

Great spot to kick start your weight loss journey

The food is absolutely terrible. Room is dirty and house keeping is spotty. Booze does the trick. I would advise looking at other Riu resorts in the area as there are far nicer ones. Great place to party!

Average Resort

The rooms need some upgrades. We had issues with the shower not draining properly, the phone not working, and mold in the shower and room. Staff were somewhat able to assist but requests had to be repeated.

Riu Replublica

The hotel grounds were well taken care of. The entertainment was delightful. The food was average. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, the excessive drinking made for very messy times. They seemed to not care about public drunkenness nor did they appreciate their surroundings.

Great time!

The resort had a lovely ambiance and was really well manicured! I liked that the “a la carte” restaurants were first come first serve, so we didn’t have to book in advance, and could visit these restaurants multiple times as opposed to having buffet dinners. The Spanish, “kulinarium” and Indian restaurants were all really good. The Spanish restaurant was by far our favourite, with Spanish style tapas for appetizers, and 3 entrees to choose from. Friendly and attentive servers/bartenders really helped enhance the experience. With so many different pools, it was diverse, there was definitely one pool that was more of a “party vibe” but it was easy to find a more quiet corner to relax and read poolside in. I read a lot of reviews about the room cards not working, but if you just keep it separate from your cell phone it isn’t a problem. Wifi signal was strong all over the resort, even by the beach, which was a nice touch. The room was cleaned daily mid afternoon, and always felt clean and fresh afterwards. The mattress was very firm but personally, that’s my preference. There was only 3 pillows and they were really thin, but maybe we could have had more if we asked, we didn’t try. Also lack of blankets, again we probably could have asked for more though just didn’t bother.

Riu republica - Punta cana

This adults only resort is quite lovely but very big. The staff and service was excellent. Lots of pool options and magnificent beach. The rooms are dated but very clean. Bed very comfortable. The evening entertainment was lots of fun but there is excessive partying happening all day so a bit noisy and music was too loud to enjoy at times. Decent Place

I find that staff will help you with what you need but won’t smile. Most staff there when I was there are not friendly but will help you. Swimming pool has molds not sure why for a 5 star hotel. Service and Food is Good overall. Place is not wholesome and welcoming to guest.young adults would enjoy it since they are there just to party.I came there ro relax and enjoy.

Good resort

The beach is beautiful! There is a breeze and big waves all the time. Plenty of pools to sit at each with different music and activities to choose from. Selection of foods was good. The room was clean. Staff were great. If you like to party this is your hotel.

Great resort for adults only!

Riu Republica is a great resort for adults only. Of course if you travel in March like I did there will be thousands of teenagers from the US universities spring break, so get ready for LOUD! That being said, these teenagers where all very respectful and it was nice seeing them bonding and having a great time. The resort is super clean, rooms are quiet, many restaurants to choose from, food is o.k. (I'm from Montreal, nothing beats our food) clubs every where, lots of entertainment. There is [... read more] theme parties every second day bringing you by bus to other Riu hotels. If you want to dance, get drunk, then you get on the bus! The water park is always fun, but the beach is beautiful, and where you want to spend your time, depending on the day, you can get a calm beach or vary waivy, which is always fun. The Riu casino is small, really small, out dated, and depressing. If you are in to casino's I recommend you pay the $20 US to go to the Hard Rock Cafe Hotel Casino. It is really nice, very big, and there is a lot of shops down the strip from the casino. The employees are friendly, so please bring a lot of $1 bills so you can TIP (To Insure Promptness) as it is always appreciated. I would always tip $1 everytime I grab drinks at the bar or served a drink, a couple dollars when I went for lunch at the buffet, and $5 for a sit down dinner. It is so important to tip, giving back. All in all, it was great to relax at this beautiful resort. I'm happy I booked with Louise Endean from Trip Central, she was amazing with her service from start to finish. Have fun, bon voyages! AL

Enjoyable vacation!

The beach was amazing. Very large and nice to walk on. The resort is huge. During the day, the entertainment only went to one pool so it wasn’t as engaging as other Riu resorts, but the staff were very friendly. There was great entertainment and it’s a good party resort. However if you’re not interested in partying, there are a lot of spots that are quiet and relaxing. Our room air conditioning wasn’t working when we got there. The air conditioning tech came within the hour and when it didn’t  [... read more]work, they moved us to a new room. Front desk was very kind and social. Restaurant staff was great and waiters were really kind and helpful. Overall a kind, helpful resort that is good for all kinds of purposes. I only wish the entertainment team was larger since the resort is so large. Also they didn’t follow the timeline of the events listed on the Riu app during the day, so having the Riu app wasn’t helpful.

Not so great

Employees not happy, long line up to book in, elevators and ice machines not working, septic smell, no coffee shop, 1 store, no ginger ail and no rye whiskey, many guests were ill, long wait at doctor's office

Great place with exceptions

I had a great time at Riu Republic. Rooms were great, lots of pools to choose from, nice beach. Loved the fact we could get multiple lounge chairs most of the day quite easily. Main buffet and the restaurants we tried were very good. Have to nite that 5 our group of 14 became very ill during the trip. Weather was also below expectations, periodic rain and cloudy except for 2 days. So while not everyone in my friends group would agree, I had an enjoyable time

Sub Par experience

The hotel of Riu Republica was generally satisfactory in most concerns a guest may have. Service in areas lacked and general maintenance of the resort was poorly maintained in spots. The staff was generally positive depending on which area or activity you we’re partaking in. Drinks also generally inconsistent on how strong or light they would be served.

Amazing Resort

The hotel was great! The resort is huge. It has so many pool areas, a beautiful beach area with plenty of chairs and shaded area. This resort has so many things to do. The food was good and what I liked the most is the friendly and super nice staff. I would recommend this resort!

Great holiday

The Republica exceeded our expectations. Food was good , alcohol was decent if you asked for the better stuff they gave it to you. The staff very good. Resort super clean the rooms a little dated but clean and comfortable. Anything you asked for they delivered. Beach was great and never an issue to get chairs. Fun place too!

Resort review

Do your homework before you go to this resort. I didn't and it's a party resort. Kids drinking until they get so drunk. Saw them hurt and smashed. I have stayed at a Riu in Jamacia and Mexico. The standards and food were a much better quality. Hot tub broken. Air conditioning terrible. Toilets didn't flush. TV didn't work.

Not a 5 Star

Grounds and resort is big and beautiful. It's so big and busy that the staff can't handle to keep up with the little stuff like taking 2 days and 7 calls to get my fridge replenished. Workers seemed to care about the customers but not the cleanliness of certain areas. Food was just okay. The best was the jerk chicken, I had that everyday. Buffet was repetitive and just okay. Nothing to brag about.
