Fun atmosphere!

This was a great budget friendly resort. The pools were well maintained, beach beautifully manicured and the grounds spotless. The resort itself was very clean—albeit a bit outdated. Staff were fabulous and very helpful. Drinks were made with generous servings of alcohol. The food was hit and miss and lacked variety. A lot of times the food was fairly bland/boring. Would describe this resort as being a four star versus a five as it lacks the amenities, consistency and upgrades of a five star.

Riu Reggae 3.5*

The Resort was a perfect size. Rooms were clean, staff was nice. Food was good, but would be better if they switched up the menus once in a while. It seem to be the same foods everyday. Plus the food was not hot, sometimes even cold. The Hotel Grounds were ok, they didn't pick up garbage in the gardens and grass often. Not pretty. They only cleaned the Beach/Pool washroom in the morning, so needless to say they were dirty and no toiled paper or hand soap. Everything else was kept fairly  [... read more]clean.

It's not 5 stars

This hotel needs an update. The lobby is very shabby and the resort is very dated. Best beach of all 3 surrounding beaches (least seaweed and most Palm trees for shade). The people are older (late 30s to mid 50s), so I wouldn't recommend it to people in their 20s like me. It does however give you access to the Riu Montego Bay lunches and clubs. The entertainment staff is awesome but the rest of the staff is rude or very inappropriate, male staff offering you weed or to take you off the resort.

A beautiful place

Location, Location, Location! So close to the airport, 7 minutes bus ride! Rooms are good, nothing special but you don't go to a resort to stay in the room, unless you are a honeymooner, lol Service was excellent, people quick to approach you and to check on you everywhere, beach included! Food was delicious and sooooo many options, kudos to the chef and the team! Drinks were good and always cold ;-) The bartenders paid attention to you and they remembered what you asked before or you [... read more]r favourites, specially my double espresso with coffee liquor :-P The entertainment team (Short Boss, Kitty Kat, Fun Size, Black Panther, Buffalo, Kool, sorry I forgot a few names) was amazing, full of energy and always smiling, the shows were fun and the ice breakers kept you engage, great job! Definitely a place that I will recommend and be back.

Wonderful staff

This was our 3rd stay at Riu Reggae. We hadn’t been there since the beginning of Covid. The staff starting from front desk, entertainment, wait staff, bartenders, spa, and landscaping were all, as always, wonderful. We were however disappointed in the lack of respect of some guests who disregarded mask and noise rules, and at times common decency. The food was not of the standard that we had really enjoyed in the past. The steak was tough, and were not the cuts described on the menu. The so [... read more] called ribeye was at best a fatty hunk of blade steak. We also noticed the disappearance of premium liquors and good house wines. The sand on the beach was our biggest concern. The hotel is using ground-up limestone to fill sparse sand areas specifically the beach volleyball. My husband had to visit the nurse after diving for a ball. His knees were scraped to bleeding point because this substance is very course and not even pleasant to walk on. Other disappointments were poor television reception, a la carte restaurants weren’t available some nights, and the advertised “free shuttle” to the nearby mall was non-existent. I’m not sure if we’ll be back.

Good Place for a Party

We were to the Riu Reggae in December 2021. This is a great place to go if you want to have a fun vacation. Always lots of music, the entertainment crew is lovely and want to engage you. If you are looking for any peace, this is not the place for you. There is no escaping *constant* noise. From 10am onwards, music plays constantly at the pools and the entertainment crew is hosting games. Even constant noise in the hallways with doors slamming and voices carried in the hallways. The b [... read more]each was pretty disappointing - it is small and lots of seaweed. The only guaranteed shade on the beach is in the smoking section as it gets shade from trees and the building. The rest is covered with palm trees only so not reliable for shade. The hotel is very clean - they are constantly cleaning. COVID protocols were followed - hand sanitizer, masks, etc. The hotel tries to do a good job with it but the patrons need to respect the protocols to really make it work. The team working there is amazing. Incredibly nice and hardworking people. The food was excellent. We only went to the Italian a la carte - again, so noisy that it was hard to enjoy the atmosphere. The food at the buffet was so good that we didn't feel the need to go to the other a la cartes. If you want activity and vibrancy, I think you would enjoy this. If you want to escape noise and have some peace, this is not the place for you.

Beautiful resort

Very clean and all the members in staff are very friendly. Food was amazing and pools were so clean. I was celebrating my birthday with my friends we had great time. Thank you for your service and keeping the place super clean ❤️❤️

Rui Reggae

Buffet restaurant - food was great- every meal multiple choices - every night had different entrees - great salad bar - different choices each meal - multiple choices - so good that we only ate at the specialty restaurants twice - the Italian was really good. we did upgrade our room- & where really happy with new room for minimum amt. beach was not long , but you could walk all 3 properties of the Rui, Grounds very well kept

Excellent Vacation

Had a great time at the Riu Reggae rooms were a good size and always kept clean, the food was amazing lots of selection and very flavourful, we ate at the a la cartes and quite enjoyed them, the steakhouse was our favourite. If you like slushie drinks there is a few good ones to choose from. The entertainment staff was very friendly and put on some good shows at night. I would recommend this resort to friends.

Great resort

We had a great vacation at the Riu reggae. It is a small resort, adults only which is great. Rooms are clean and beds comfortable. Very nice bathroom and large shower. Food was fantastic lots to choose from. Al a cartes were all good and service was excellent. Drinks great as well, lots of choices. Entertainment crew are awesome, shows pretty good at night as well. Great vacation all and all

Great Resort

Had a great week. Food was amazing with lots of options to choose for every taste. The service was great. Hotel rooms are nice and clean. The beach is small but there are plenty of lounge chairs for everyone by the beach and near the pools. Would go again. The entertainment shows at night are okay.

Great little resort

Well kept small resort. Just a short 5 minute drive from the airport in Montego Bay. Beach and pools had plenty of sun loungers available, no need to rush to find a place to soak up the sun. The food was delicious and the wait staff were always friendly. The bars had plenty drink selections to choose from.

Great trip!

Stayed at the Riu Reggae for 1 week. The rook was nice with a little balcony. We were on the first floor with a garden view. The view was some trees with a big wall behind it, but it was nice and quiet as it was away from the main beach/pools/stage etc. The food was decent, buffet was good. Our favorite restaurant was the Kulinarium. The drinks were great and the staff were very pleasant, welcoming, and fun. The entertainment was okay, very talented dancers!

Resort was great

Really relaxing, food was good, ambiance was great. Would recommend to anyone. Beach was beautiful and service was awesome. Great games along pool every afternoon and shows at night were entertaining

Riu Reggae, Jamaica

We have to say that we had a fantastic stay at Riu Reggae. The room was very clean and was as we requested, king size bed, top floor, very quiet area. Our room was always tended to daily with perfection. The staff were wonderful starting with the morning buffet, to the lunch and then to dinner. Also, the bartenders were always amiable. Always very personable and happy!!! The animation team were great. Always very approachable and so very personable. The grounds were kept very clean and  [... read more]in top shape. The food was kept in an air conditioned area with accessible doors which kept out the elements outside. There certainly was a lot to choose from in the buffets. You have no excuse to leave hungry! Overall, we have to say that Riu Reggae was certainly a good choice and have to thank Wendy at Trip Central for helping us make our choice! I forgot, the staff at the front reception desk were also so helpful . Thank you all at the Riu Reggae for a wonderful week!

Great Resort

The resort Very clean and well kept resort. Rooms were very nice, clean and enjoyed the mini fridge. The staff were all very friendly. The Entertainment was excellent. Great shows. The entertainment team is Very talented. Food was really good. Enjoyed buffet and restaurant. Nice no lines up for restaurants If you like early dinner. I would have liked to have plantain.

Fabulous Resort

I’ve stayed at Riu’s in Mayan Rivera and Dominican and must say that the Riu Reggae in Montego Bay surpassed my expectations. Check in was quick and very efficient, there were 4 of us ladies, and we got the rooms we requested, side by side and separate beds. I liked the smaller size of the resort, not a lot of walking. Restaurants were great and I liked the fact that the specialty restaurants were first come first serve and you could go as many times as you liked. Entertainment was absolutely fantastic, so professional, the best I’ve ever seen. The entertainment staff were always so upbeat, making sure everyone was having a good time. The pools are nice and large, huge swim up bars, lots of partying in the pool. We are beach people and although the beach isn’t huge like the beaches in Punta Cana, it’s very nice, the sand was soft, water was clear, always lots of chairs and a section that provided lots of shade or sun. The beach at Riu Reggae is better than the Riu Montego Bay. All the staff were so friendly and it felt genuine. The rooms were very clean, and a decent size. The in room bar was great and refilled regularly. We didn’t want for anything at the Riu Reggae, I would definitely recommend for people who want a smaller resort, not a lot of walking, great staff, food and amenities. Would definitely return.

Wonderful resort

I really loved the riu reggae, it wasn't too big and the entire resort was clean. The staff at the resort were amazing. They were always interacting with people, loved the buffet, and every ala cart restaurant had great food and was presented well on the plates. The beach was beautiful. I loved everything about the resort and plan to visit the riu reggae again

Amazing resort

The hotel rooms were not that great but the overall resort was amazing, they had fun activities and very entertaining for all of us. Beautiful view, amazing food and drinks that the resort has offered

Really Nice Resort!

Staying at this Hotel was a very pleasant experience. The food was delicious and the service was great. It is more of a party resort which is what we were going for. It was smaller than i expected it to be but i enjoyed the space.
