Bring your own dinner napkins and toilets papers!

The rooms are clean...the check in was slow... the hotel is very nice but still need lots of improvement's. Was in Cuba many times before so I know what to expect, this time I was disappointed The pool was nice…the hotel property is huge and need lots of walking, we can't catch the shuttle easily...there is a small beach where the water shallow but lots of rocks...we had to walk between 5-10 minutes to the better beach which was nice, caught the shuttle only one time...little bar on [... read more] the beach but no grill or any place where we could bite something for lunch, had to walk back to the buffet basically that was the only place in that big hotel where was possible to eat something during the day...the 24 hrs. snack bar menu was very limited and the food was awful there...tried the ala carte restaurants in the evening it was the same food what had in the buffet so was no point to go there. Had no soda, tonic, juices for week and a half (it was only the diabetic juices which had no taste)…many times no forks end spoon on the tables...it was a little peace of toilet paper for napkins on the tables or sometimes nothing, the VIP section had a proper dinner napkin (that coast $35 US per person for a day)… drinks quality and entertainment was poor. It was a stinky washroom on the beach, but after couple days was out of order and wasn't fixed while our stay...the only availability was walk back to the hotel or use the bush or the ocean. The staff are friendly, polite and helpful of course...we love Cuba and the people we will definitely return but not in this hotel.

Amazing Place that needs minor improvements

We liked everything about the rooms and amenities. The staff were hardworking, nice and pleasant but I would like some improvements on the following:- 1. If there is no toilet paper in a public toilet then a note should be written to notify the public. The public toilets are many around the reception area so just redirect people. The reason is that as a lady it’s embarrassing to use the bathroom and realize half way there is no toilet paper. 2. Food hygiene should be number one priority. It [... read more] maybe hard due to the open buffet style but have a glass protector to prevent dirty hands and flies. 3. The Wi-Fi is very unreliable. The fact that you have to call the reception all the time to give you more hours that disconnects 5 min later. Most of the time no one handles the call at the reception for assistance. The username and password is very long and can’t be saved and you have to retype frequently to login. It is very exhausting when the network is very poor.

You ask about "covid"? It is clear you have not moved on, and it shows. Many issues here, none due to covid. I would suggest the TripCentral employees begin to re-learn about their destinations and provide their clients with relevant information. Being misinformed on basic details is an odd phenomenon considering you are our knowledge base for such trips.

Bring your own toilet paper

With a 5 star rating, the Iberostar name behind it and a trip advisor travellers choice award, we thought we couldn’t go wrong. 4th trip to Cuba. Service non-existent. Food undercooked and repetitive. Unable to make most drinks. No toilet paper in public areas!!!

Fantastic resort!

Had a great time! A group of us went to celebrate my brothers birthday. The staff made sure it was a special day for his 50th. The hotel room was exceptional for Cuba. Very clean and modern. The pool was great and the beach was clean. The beach bar was a great meeting place for us. And the bar tender was a lot of fun. The lobby bar was packed every night so you had to make sure you got there early enough to get chairs. Also there wasn’t a huge selection at the buffet but we never left hungry. The Japanese restaurant was the best. The show was great and the food was very good. Don’t get the fish soup though. That was terrible. The restaurant brought out a birthday cake for my brother and it was wonderful! The staff even sang for him. Wonderful time! Do not exchange your Canadian money. The locals will give you par for it. They will charge you extra if you pay in pesos. Not completely sure why this is but that’s the way it’s working now. The locals are hurting extremely badly because of Covid and the lack of diesel. They can’t get supplies as the transport industry isn’t running up to par. They are very appreciative of anything you give them from money to clothes to medicine. All in all we had a fantastic time and will definitely go back.

This was one one my favourite hotels in Cuba . Been to 8 different resorts this one is best by far .

This resort seem to have everything you needed for a good holiday.. Food was good apart from the odd shortage , but never a real concern. Staff were great and took care of all our needs and never had to wait long any where .

Very clean, and comfortable resort

The hotel was modern looking. Very clean. The rooms were the best I've seen in Cuba. Beds were comfortable. Staff was pleasant. Food was good, and there was plenty of variety. Store was very small, so make sure to bring everything that you need with you. Shower was luxurious, and towels were top grade. Beach was small, but we did have access to the Playa Pasquero Beach.

Iberostar hotel amazing the service excellent the grounds incredible beautiful beach unfortunately the food is very poor many essentials such as tomatoes potatoes mint for mojitos not available Cuba is suffering from supply issues very sad

Wonderful stay

We had booked at the Iberostar Selection for two weeks, we had arrived on a Friday and it was good at the start, the lobby representative had advised us to come back next morning and inquire in getting a room with a king bed since the one we were assigned to had two double beds and it was just husband and I. So we did, we got a room looking the ocean and a king size bed. We were happy with that recommendation. We had met some guests that Friday evening when we were checking in and they had wa [... read more]rned us that the food at the hotel was repetitive due to the shortage of food in Cuba, we weren’t surprised but the food was still tasty and it filled us at every meal. The beaches were beautiful and the entertainment at the main pool was fun and enjoying. We met a couple at one of the a la carte restaurants and they suggested that we check out the Coral level resort due to their excellent service and a much quieter atmosphere and the food was better, so we decided to get a tour that night, the Jr Suite sold us both and we transferred from Iberostar Selection to the Coral level the next day, it was worth the money and we would definitely return to the Coral when we return to Holguin. The main reason why we decided to change is because the maid that was cleaning our room had left our back sliding door unlocked on three days straight, I first thought it was my hubby that did that cause he is a smoker and would smoke on the little patio in the back of our room facing the ocean. We thought maybe she forgot to lock the sliding door but it continued to be left unlocked three times in a row after our room was cleaned, I did approach the maid and spoke to a client service representative at the main lobby because there was no manager available. Otherwise we had a good time and our friends also joined us in our trip during the second week of our stay. Thank you to all of the staff at both hotels, the service was good and I forgot to mention that the show at the theatre was good, only saw the show twice but it was entertaining and the main singer has an amazing voice.

Good new resort.

The rooms were perfect with air condition, the service was really good, the food was ok, the territory is well maintained. There weren't many black flies, otherwise the spray worked well. We all liked it except the beaches are not safe as there are a lot of local people coming. They stole our sandals and it was hell to stay on vacation with just sneakers. The rest of the vacation was a bit ruined because of this because we were scared every time we went to the beach and it was impossible to s [... read more]wim together because someone would have stayed to watch our clothes.

Great resort

The resort is beautiful, we enjoyed much the beach, the Iberostar team were amazing and we love the entertainment every night. The food is okay but more variety will be appreciated. We will surely like to come back again with family and friends!

Amazing resort

Iberostar holguin is a resort we would definitely love to return to. Very clean and beautiful landscaping with a wonderful staff. Buffet was organized and food was good . Loved the small beach area close to the buildings perfect for children because of the shallow water and across the short bridge to the main beach is a nice walk for those who like to take short walks. The shuttle carts are also available for a ride across. The water is as beautiful as i have seen. I would love to visit again.

Iberostar Selection Holguin

This was the first tropical trip my wife and I took since being married. This resort was more than we expected. The food, the beaches, the pool, the staff, and the entertainment was absolutely amazing. I will definitely be going back next year.

Go somewhere else !!!

Terrible experience !!!! 7 days a week, I ate pasta . Other options are really not good !! And , I was wait 20-30 minutes just for pasta . Local people always coming to beach. No privacy!!! Food : Terrible 😣 Room: good 😌 Desert and fruit are not good 👎

Clean and nice area but not a 4.5 star ...maybe 3 in internationals standards !

because were a few people in resort everything regarding services were smooth ...but till resort you have to endure cuban incompetence during crossing the border ( don't blame them ...they don't know better, is the system) food is edible - many canadians enjoy it but i think is inadmissible for a resort named IBEROSTAR to not have in a restaurant : vinegar, onion, bell peppers, spices , lemon, diversity of fruits ...list is long but i stop to what is obvious a la carte restaurants have same k [... read more]ind of food or almost ...is only the name : a la carte ! poorly food but u can check the meniu by a QR code ! childish for what food they offer but again everyone is different and some of canadians enjoy many locals have access to the resort ...this time i didn't see kingpins of cuban black market ... departure was the same time and nerves consuming like arrival

Modern clean Room/Resort on fabulous Pesquero Beach

Iberostar Review We enjoyed our 2 week stay here, hands down! Front desk check-in and greeting was very friendly, professional and fast. Assigned room was so comfortable and modern with wifi service, charging station, and a spectacular ocean view!  An additional screened patio door made it perfect for us to enjoy the ocean breeze anytime! First beach, close by, shallow and nicely sheltered from surf on windy days. Second beach, clear water and absolutely fabulous for snorkelling and water sports. Electric cart shuttle always available and convienant to take us where we wanted. We enjoyed our 4 km, safe, leisure walks along the public pathway of beautiful Pesquero Beach.   Dining room host Uranemi, polite and helpful with our menu selections and reservations. Food of excellent Cuban fare! The good variety of fresh buffet selections and cooking stations were very appealing and tasty. Yainet ready with our morning coffee and glass of sparkling water. We were pleased with our many al la carte meals especially the delicious Lobster Entrees and Milena’s top notch service. IceCreamBar was close to the beach and the server here made this a cheerful and fun stop. Thanks to Arthur and team. “Campari on the rocks, two sparkling waters on the side” yes, BeachBar bartender Henry always showed a lot of class! Swimming Pool lovely, with many comfortable lounge areas and water levels, plus a juggling bartender, wow! Beverage/bar service manager Robert...right on! GM Diego frequently seen around resort, always approachable with a good sense of humour, staying on top. We will definitely return!

So-so resort

I could have been told that on my return trip I was booked, along with my friend, on a Priority seat. It would have allowed me to avoid two hours of lining up for two hours for the check in an customs in an unbelievably slow process.

Beautiful Resort

Vacationed Feb 17- 24 , 2020 ....Beautiful Resort, We stayed in building 26 which was close to beach, pool and kids splash pad area. About 4- 5 min walk to the buffet. loved the beach and our Maid was outstanding. Could not book one alacarte for the week unless we took a 9:30pm , which is not suitable for anyone I would think and we had small children. I have been to a few different resorts in Cuba and have always been able to get pizza and fries, this resort had neither. One would think  [... read more]when a resort is promoting a great resort for children they would certainly have pizza and fries. Cereal for children was only available last 2 mornings. The food at buffet was pretty much same every night. I have had much better in a 3* for an Iberostar I was disappointed.

Amazing time

Couldn’t of been happier with our stay here! Amazing staff! Entire resort was spotless and clean! The pools and beach were incredible and well taken care of Very happy customers....Heather our travel agent was great and helped us when we needed it!

Iberostar Resort in Hoglguin

The hotel is very modern, the rooms were fantastic (Oceanview), the service was second to none when we got it. They need more staff. The food was adequate, if somewhat plain. What I didn’t like was that all the restaurants had shortages of food that was on the menu. It seems that most of what I wanted wasn’t available. One thing I would suggest is to raise the building numbers higher on the wall and light them.
