Amazing resort beautiful beach awesome food.

The 2 beds in the room were small twins. we were told double beds, so we needed a sofa bed to accommodate for 3 people in a room. Also needed a divider between the bathroom and the beds in front of the bathtub .

Such a great place to go

The hotel was AWESOME. Great staff such nice people. Food was so good with a good verity. Beach had its time when the seaweed was bad you can’t help that great beach otherwise. Soooo many places to take great pictures also. Our room was nice also , this resort is very clean they are always cleaning. The gym was the worst part but not everyone like the gym. Neon night was so much fun. Great place I would recommend this place for sure.

Great resort

Nice place and I would definitely go back just I felt the staff was not that friendly but still good 👍. The food was good but the Japaneses and French restaurants do not want to serve lots of people so you got to go early.

Our Return to Mexico...Amazing

Beautiful Resort, grounds were clean and stunning. Our room was clean and we never wanted for anything. This was by far one of the best resorts we have been to. From entertainment to food, pools and beach we were impressed. Thank you for having us.

Really nice resort

Well laid out resort, we had our wedding there. The food was good, no complaints, the staff always asked about any allergies. the staff took care of our group. They gave us a room upgrade with a swim out pool, Oceanview close to one of the pools which we took advantage of. We will return one day.

Amazing RIU Republica Punta Cana

We were party of 4 adults, had an amazing time at RIU Republica. Lots fun for adults with different age groups. The only problem that we had was with SunWing checkin crew at Punta Cana airport. We already checked in online, had to wait in a line up for 2.5 hours just to print the baggage labels and check them in. There were few parties with small children and toddlers that had to wait in check-in line up. Exceptional!

We stayed for 10 days and were so happy with our vacation. The grounds and beach are impeccable, the food was delicious and the staff are exceptional! We specifically enjoyed the amazing service from Lilly and Packo at the main buffet area.

Still great. Riu palace is always my favourite.

This is a great resort and it’s my 3rd or 4th time here. First time back since dec 2019. Nothing has suffered during the down time of Covid. The food is still good, the restaurants still had great service. The grounds and cleanliness are still top notch. I don’t think they have a mask policy as I didn’t notice 100% of staff with masks. Some food servers did, but I think that may a general food handling requirement. Certainly not for Covid though. This has got a great beach to [... read more] lie on with tons of chairs and lots of shady trees. I counted about 75 columns of trees with 4 - 5 in each column. So roughly 300. You can walk this beach about 30 minutes north and 2 hours south if walking is your thing.. Right now, traffic is ver very bad due to construction around and leading to the airport. My transport has been 30-40 minutes in the past and this time it was close to 2 hrs. Also there are 5 or 6 new hotels on the costa Mujeres strip, so you’ll probably be going on a tour bus and making multiple stops between your hotel and the airport. Because of this, we missed breakfast on the last day. Had to pick us up 5 hours before flight time. I kinda blame Sunwing for that. It would be a better customer experience if they put people in 8-person mini vans direct to hotel instead of 60 seat buses that stop 5 times. It might be worth it to book your own hotel transfer if your time is important. All in all, riu itself was spectacular as usual and Sunwing was mediocre as usual.

Very nice resort

Everything was beautiful, right down to the restaurants, living spaces, bedrooms, bars etc. I would highly recommend this resort to anybody else in the future. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres Resort

Rooms - There isn't any privacy if your room is shared Restaurants - The buffet has better meals than the main restaurants . The food should be a bit more than room temperature Alcohol tastes different from North American alcohol. When it comes to the excursions, more details should be provided.

Top Notch!!

We have travelled to plenty of resorts In The Riu chain. This is our 2nd time at Costa Mujeres Riu Palace. Very clean, staff was lovely especially Naïm in the buffet and Alejandro who kept our room perfect. The beach is wonderful but could certainly use some more shade options. The pools are great. Even though it was busy there was always a spot to sit and we didn’t feel crowded at all. Entertainment was a bit hit and miss this time. Better when we were there in October. Huge Resort

The hotel in general is very clean and very large, takes time to get to restaurants and bars etc,All the staff wore masks and there was hand sanitizers everywhere. I found that because there were so many guests at the hotel that the quality of food was compromised, usually cold and overcooked, and there were several nights that we went to bed hungry. Steak house had the best service but the worse food. Italian restaurant had the worse service and the food was very salty. Amazing resort!

We were very pleased with our stay in Riu Palace Costa Mujeres. The food is excellent and hotel is very very clean and maintained well. The staff did a great job keeping our room clean and organized everyday. I only have one concern with the entire stay. I returned home with bite marks on my leg. Not sure if this is something I caught from bed bugs or if it was something else. Other than that it was 5 star all the way.

Paradise on earth

We just came back from Riu Palace Costa Mujeres from a 1 week stay. The beach was amazing, only had seaweed for a couple of days. The food: The Buffet has an amazing choice, You can eat something different everyday. The a la carte restaurants are normal. The only exceptional was Krystal, fusion cuisine,We ate there 2 nights. The service is above average. Once You pick a spot during breakfast and lunch You get a regular server that gets to know how to serve You. Special shout to Marroquín, Nain [... read more] and Abdiel during breakfast and lunch and To Mari our server at the Krystal restaurant. For example I would look for the same server and have my coffee, beer, wine almost immediately. The Beach servers kept the drinks coming all day long, special thanks to Tommy, Canelo and Manuel. The cleanliness in the hotel was immaculate. Front desk services very attentive. You get what You pay for, some people complain about the quality of the food in general and for the price it’s hard to find a better quality price hotel. If You pay twice more You will find better quality food but You have to open Your wallet. I definitely recommend this resort and to have a better view of the hotel and the restaurants go to YouTube and look for video reviews, they helped Us decide choose this resort.

Top notch resort, staff, food, & overall experience!

An incredible resort! The best amenities, food, staff, entertainment, activities, and more! There was so much to do, see, and eat we literally didn’t need to leave the resort! I would most definitely go back & can’t wait until I do! Truly the best experience!!!

Beautiful beach + amazing resort!

My friend and I stayed at the Riu Palace Costa Mujeres for a week in May 2022. Overall, we had a fantastic experience! The resort is impeccably clean, you’d feel comfortable to walk around barefoot the entire time! The beach was absolutely beautiful and the primary reason we chose Costa Mujeres (knowing well that seaweed is still plaguing Riviera Maya). The food was okay! Breakfast was fantastic! Lunch and dinner at the buffet were basically the exact same all week. But there was still a ton o [... read more]f variety and lots to choose from! We enjoyed most of the speciality restaurants, especially Krystal and Mexican. The pool wasn’t for us at all (we are beach people to begin with). It was very crowded after lunch time and a bit of a mosh pit - If you love that party vibe, the pool is def for you! Thank you to our Trip Central agent, ONeil for booking us another successful trip! Good Hotel for Families

There are some things that didn't suit us at this resort perhaps largely due to the huge surge in occupancy. It is on a windy stretch and the ocean water is very turbulent most of the time. And contrary to what most people have reported ...there is sargassum in the water and on shore.Not as bad as further down the coast but there none the less. No peace and quiet at all. The boom boom music from the pool bars is non stop accompanied by lots of screaming partiers. There was no quiet area that we could find. The resort is a beautiful property and extremely well maintained. All areas were clean. The staff is amazing and service was great in all venues. That's quite an achievement given the place was at max capacity. Top shelf booze is available and drinks are good. Maid service is spot on and the mini bar was always replenished. The coffee bar was a favourite in the morning and mid afternoon. The piano bar's acoustics are terrible. So when occupied in the evening it's impossible to converse and is like being in an echo chamber. The same applies to the halls at night ... sound bounces and gets amplified. You will hear the theatre show in your room until it ends. The food was good. Lots of choice. A lot of people appear to never have seen food before LOL. Can't say it was exceptional but it was all fresh and plentiful. Good for an AI. If you enjoy fish and seafood you will find it quite satisfying. They have Indio beer and it was a treat with meals. Overall we think your experience will improve when capacity isn't at peak anymore. BTW the airport experience is actually worse than it's ever been , especially on return to Canada.

Riu in March 2022

This is a lovely hotel with excellent service. The staff are friendly and wore masks at all times. Sanitizer was available every time you went to buffet. Check in was easy but we did find it difficult to find our rooms. When we saw a Riu employee, he was kind enough to take us right to our room. The room itself was very musty smelling, especially the drawers. However, the following day after the maids were in, it no longer smelled musty - had a very fresh smell like the main lobby. Ou [... read more]r only disappointment was the beach - so much seaweed. It was very, very windy with strong waves so we were unable to go in the water as we normally would. This of course is not the fault of the hotel. The drink staff on the beach were really good.

Awesome resort.

Piano in lounge was noisy and hard to hear for all of us when in a conversation. Suggest soft music and piano in a more outside area. Would of liked more washrooms. entertainment 9am instead of 9:30. Bar closer to beach. Overall it was an awesome resort. Also room 4071 had a bowl they just purchased removed from their room and not returned. This was Nancy and Jim’s room

Relaxing expansive beautiful resort

Pros: great service, friendly staff, excellent food (exception: chicken enchiladas were bland), plentiful drinks and accommodating bartenders who welcomed our crazy cocktail suggestions! Despite lack of reservations always got a seat at the restaurant of our choice - favourites were Fusion and Japanese and the Buffet. Just keep aware of which days they are closed(!) The lamb at the Fusion restaurant was to die for - yummmmmm! The beach was incredible and palms were just right for shade a [... read more]nd separation - never had to fight for beach loungers. The ocean was warm, sea bottom very clean ! The surf was very calm the first few days and exciting roller-surf the last few! The sand is a cardio-challenge but you will adapt quickly! So many pools to choose from and we loved the gazebo awnings - sun when you wanted it, shade when you needed it. Pools with swim up bars were not crowded and kept very clean. Pool rules strictly enforced - especially kids kept out of adult only pools. Plenty of activity choices to suit anyone! Nightly shows were entertaining.Hint: use the app to keep track of what is going on. It is a very large spread out resort so you will do a lot of walking but it balances out all of the eating… :-) Well manicured property and very elegant decor and hardscapes. Plenty of places to hang out with others or be private with your SO. This resort is quiet and relaxing- you will need to do excursions or go next door to the disco for a noisier livelier crowd. There were some children staying there but most families stayed next door at the Dunamar. (The water park is shared between them). The rooms are lovely, and they were super clean. Room service and minibar service was good. Con: only one - the mattress in our room was mushy and the edges were all worn and collapsed/ nonexistent! Easy fix - just get better mattresses! COVID: the resort handled the protocols very well and I felt safe during our entire stay.
