Great Vacation

Clean resort, amazing room and food was good with alot of choices. Nice to go to the waterpark slides and parties at the other Riu hotels. Also Adults Only Hotel. City is nice to see and water taxi to see the El Arco and beaches. Great weather in June

Great Resort - Not Sure About Housekeeping

I really don't want our incident to persuade my review of the resort, but I know that I depend a lot on the reviews of other that have been to the resort when searching for my next destination so here goes. It's fairly new so the rooms were very nice though I feel housekeeping could have done a better job when it came to the cleanliness of the room i.e. replacing used towels, soap and sweeping the floor. We were there during Cabo Fest which made the resort incredibly busy, but it appeared nobody worked during the evenings once everyone was in their rooms. Given where our room was located, I believe my bikini bottoms were stolen from our balcony which is heartbreaking. I only wore them once and they were Michael Kors, so not cheap. I immediately reported the incident and the hotel manager was able to confirm that housekeeping was in our room during the time I suspected them to go missing. Unfortunately nothing was found and the hotel wasn't able to compensate me so I've filed an official report with CMS RIU and I'm still waiting to hear back. I really hope they compensate me another bottom. Really it's the principal of the whole situation and it's disheartening when I work so hard and then go on a vacation and have to worry about locking everything up. The safes aren't big enough to put my suitcase in. This was an unfortunate event as everything else with the resort was great. The gym was small, but all the equipment was new, and I know for a fact that it was mopped every morning as we were there at 6am when the cleaning lady was there. All in all we enjoyed our stay, but unfortunately the fact that an item was stolen from our balcony makes me sad.

UNBELIEVABLE!!

Amazing resort. Loved the infinity pool and the view beyond. Buffet was great. So much to choose from, but the taco bar at lunch was the best.Staff is amazing! My cup runneth over, Lol. Entertainment staff made it so fun. Can't wait to go back.

Excellent resort

The food was great, the rooms were large and stylish. Amazing layout and view of the beach, would definitely recommend and return to the RIU Palace Baja California. The weather was absolutely perfect for my entire 7 day stay.

Amazing Wonderful Holiday!

Everything about this holiday was wonderful. The food, the entertainment, the people. We had a great holiday. The elite extra cost w Sunwing not so much. Plane was full and we were seated next to university students that hadn’t paid this extra fee. We were last to get our bags at the carousel. The extra 200$ was definitely not worth it. Also Sunwing has the same ridiculous sitcom there and back, so no need to bring earphones. The flight was great otherwise Thank you

Very good new resort.

This is a beautiful resort with staff that could not have been better. The attention to our needs and the overall service of ALL of the staff, at the front desk, room service, restaurant staff, pool attendants,bar staff, and particularly management staff, was more than we expected. They went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful stay at this Riu Resort. The food in the Buffet and the five specialty restaurants was excellent.

Beautiful property!

Overall this hotel was great. The rooms, pools, amenities, view were amazing. The only negative thing I can say was that the food & service at the specialty restaurants needs to improve. Being a new property, I expect this to improve over time. Adult only was great and if you wanted to party... head next door to the Riu Sante Fe.

Great rooms & pools.

The Hotel was very nice with fantastic pool/views. Many of the staff didn’t speak/understand English very well. The “Specialty Restaurants” were not very good, except for Japanese which was good. The Buffet was not too bad, however it gets “old” pretty quick. By far the best meals we had were off the resort. As it’s a new Hotel (4-5 months) I would expect it will improve over next year? Modern Resort

The hotel was clean, staff were helpful and friendly. Tips are expected. The buffet food had good selection with chefs available cooking non-stop. The food at the buffet is the same every day except for one station. There’s no nice way of saying this but; The restaurant selections were minimal and the food was terrible. We had to call for water and coffee separately to be refilled by different service staff as housekeeping does not automatically do that when they  [... read more]clean your room. That was very time consuming and took away from our time enjoying Los Cabos. We hardly slept the week that we stayed since the noise travels throughout the hotel (Bring Ear plugs). Also the resort next door the Santa Fe has pool parties Monday Wednesday Friday Saturday from 2pm-7pm which is great as long as you don’t want to have an afternoon nap since you heard everything. The activities in the pool were fun but it was always the same activities every day. The pools infinity pools are beautiful but they are not heated and were freezing. The drinks at each bar varied in quality. If you went to the same bar the drinks were never made the same. The best drinks were upstairs away from the pool at the Martini bar. Staffing around the pool was lacking and the staff members had a lot of people to serve it turned out to be better to go to the bar yourself. The gift shop has minimal selection of items so if you need anything best to bring it with you or go shopping in town. The SunWing staff were amazing throughout our entire stay any questions we had and any excursions we took they helped us out which made our vacation more enjoyable.

A good vacation

Just came home after a 12 day vacation at this resort. Overall we were very happy with the resort. It is extremely clean. They are cleaning all the time and picking up any trash etc. You can tell the staff really care about the guests. They are always trying to accommodate any requests that you have. The rooms were very spacious and cleaned perfectly every day. We loved the bars and look out area on the second floor. It was such an amazing view. At the morning buffet, Suzanna looked after us and always made a table for us as there were 6 of us travelling together. She also worked at night at Krystal. Thank you so much Suzanna. I also want to thank Jimenez, Rivera, Luis and Ramon at the Indian restaurant. They were all so nice and looked after all our needs. I am not a fan of indian but my group loves it so we went there 3 times. They helped to accommodate my food order so I had something to eat They were extremely happy and we had an awesome night each time we visited. Overall we were very happy with the resort. I think there are still a few kinks to iron out at the restaurants as a new resort but you can tell they are trying really hard to make everyone happy. On a side note, it was so hard to watch when people were abusing the staff due to wait times at the restaurants and service. These employees are working their butts off to make us happy. You are on vacation and no one deserves to be treated the way some of the guests were treating the staff. Everyone should be grateful to have the opportunity to travel and relax. The staff are working to the best of their ability which we thought was amazing. Thanks to everyone that makes this resort a good destination to stay. This is our second vacation at the RUI, first one at Santa Fe several years ago. I would recommend this resort for the price point, cleanliness and the amazing staff that are there to serve you.

Great resort hotel

Stayed at the new Riu Baja California recently and the hotel hit on all points. Check in was one of if not the smoothest I have ever experienced. Been to 30+ all inclusive hotels to date. Room cleanliness was great, daily service was fine, room additions such as bar fridge and water was always filled to the max. Large patio deck with alot of privacy. Deck view was of the ocean and the Riu St. Fe. We were on the 4th floor. Food at the buffet was decent. Everyday there were new options. At [... read more]e here mostly for breakfast and lunch. Dinner was taken at the other restaurants offered. Steak house was good and so was the Fusion. Pools....great atmosphere, great service, swim up bar was more lively than other pools but that is to be expected. Entertainment in the evening was pretty good. Make sure to take in the Micheal Jackson show. It was the best! Overall I hold no reservations is suggesting the Riu Baja California! Wish I could be back there tomorrow!

Nice new/clean place

While the rooms are nice, clean, modern and bright, the Riu Palace Baja California is more like a hotel than a resort. If you like to take time to explore the grounds, this is not the place for you. It is just a hotel on the water. The are four heated pools but they are all located in front of the hotel within throwing distance of each other and the activities/music are often competing with each other, making difficult to just relax around the pool at times. If you enjoy walking along the beac [... read more]h, know that this beach is very difficult to travel on due to extensive slanting. Be prepared to repeatedly be approached by merchants on the beach. Also, the hotel is located a fair distance to Cabos and cab ride is going to set you back $20 CAD each way so if you intend on going into town, you will have to add $$ to your stay here. We enjoyed a nice assortment of food and the staff was very courteous and friendly. Though they try, the nightly entertainment is not very good at all. If you don't like noise, request a room that is not facing the RIU Sante Fe next door. Loud music and parties are organized at the Sante Fe and many have complained that they couldn't sit on their decks or leave their patio doors open because of the excessive noise. These parties tend to end early enough though.

Ultra Modern

First impression was it looked out of place next to its traditional style sister hotels. The welcome was warm the staff friendly and the room was excellent. We were on the 3rd floor which could be floor 4,5,6 depending which lift you used. The hotel was spotless and staff were always cleaning. The food in the buffet dining room was good and varied and fresh. The alacart restaurants were a bit hit and miss with the service, they forgot to serve our main course in one. I put this down to the st [... read more]aff being relatively new and the hotel. Was fairly full as it was reading week in US. Pools were great warm and clean. Gentle games were layed, the more boisterous stuff happened in the sister hotels. The beach was kept clean and tidy but you could not swim in the sea, this was a big disappointment for us. Evening entertainment improved over the week but a cool wind blew through the entertainment area in the evening, you needed to be seated near a patio heater. A very enjoyable stay over all and you could not fault the hotel on its cleanliness.

Still some growing pains to work out. Overall nice hotel, excellent rooms.

Beautiful pools, excellent food and service personnel, 5 specialty restaurants. (no reservations required) well maintained grounds, expensive taxis for short trip downtown Los Cabos. Problem with cigarettes and cigars near the pool and bar areas. (No designated smoking areas) Entertainment needs to be lengthened and worked on for professionalism. Stunning views

The property of the Riu Palace Baja California offered beautiful views of the ocean and the Arch. We enjoyed sitting poolside or in the seated area sipping cappuccinos while taking in the view. The food was overall good. We really enjoyed the Krystal and Indian restaurant. We did not have the opportunity to get seating in the steakhouse, but heard from several couples their steakhouse meals were not good. We did take in the entertainment and the White Party at the Santa Fe and we did enjoy spending time there. We intentionally chose an adults only resort as that is our preference when we travel--this time we were very relieved in our choice as spring breakers arrived at the Santa Fe at the end of our visit. We spoke to people who managed to move to the Baja from the Santa Fe because of the craziness of the students and they were much happy once they did. The Baja is quieter than the Palace and Sante Fe, but everything is till available to Baja guests whenever they want. I would consider returning there again.

Riu palace

For my very first trip this place is awesome nothing bad to say about, the staff, rooms, food etc, everything was all around great it’s going to be really hard to top this place for next year if we don’t discuss going back I really would like to go back once again in my lifetime riu is awesome!! Thanks for the great experience!! Also if you go down to the marina I recommend eating at the where’s the food place WTF. Really great food and owner is great guy cheers!!

Nice new resort

Nice room except if you are facing the Santa Fe Riu. Lots of loud music and pool parties. Waiters are very friendly and polite. Nice variety of restaurants with plenty of food. A lot of entertainment on site...volleyball...aqua fitness...challenges....ping pong... Very nice beach...you can walk all the way to the marina.

Top Notch Resort

I stayed for a week in January with my brother. Everything from the smooth check in our room, the food, the grounds, staff and cleanliness of the resort was fantastic. I would highly recommend the Riu Baja California in Cabos San Lucas as a destination to visit.

Beauty Resort!

This was our first time ever in Mexico and we are seasoned travellers... what else can I say but AMAZING! Staff, food, rooms, pools, the view...unreal! We will go back for sure. The Riu got this one right for sure!

Amazing views.

The resort is brand new. Had some issues with water sound in the ceiling. Called maintence and problem was said to be fixed. I had to follow up with them. They did not call me. Resort does not feel like you are in Mexico. No music anywhere besides at the pool, and not mexican. Entertainment in the evening needs help. Rooms need more privacy.
