Riu Palace Paradise Island: Honest Review

This hotel is very good for people travelling without children. The food is really good and the beach is as nice as varadero cuba. The rooms are very nice and a bit old, but overall very good. The hotel staff are always friendly and asking if they can assist. Atlantis is next door and there is lots to do. The bad - the beach vendors are a bit annoying and the taxi drivers never have change. This has nothing to do with the hotel - but be prepared for this in Nassau. Sandals Royal Bahamian: Great Vacation!

This really is a great resort. Grounds are small and everything is right there! We had a lovely room with a view of the ocean and pool on the quiet side at Balmoral. The restaurants offered a wide selection of dishes and most were excellent. A lot of the staff are new but they are trying very hard to please! Pools are cool as they have been refilled since the reno, but I'm sure they will heat up soon. The Loop which is a website dedicated to concerns and requests is fantastic. Breezes Bahamas: Amazing food!

My husband and I recently got back from 3 nights 4 days at Breezes resort in Nassau. The resort in itself and rooms are in need of an update but we weren't there to sit inside the room. The food is amazing, the drinks plentiful and the beach is amazing. Always easy to find a chair near beach and pool. The service is great and all the people are super friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: A Bit Disappointed

The staff at the resort were very friendly. The food was by far the best I have had on most Islands. The grounds and hotel were kept very clean, albeit the rooms and interior could use updating. The biggest disappointment was that the pool was freezing cold for the four days that we stayed at the resort with conflicting responses provided by our tour provider and the front desk indicating that they didn't have a heated pool as compared to management and the pool staff stating that the heater had [... read more] been damaged from the recent hurricane and the repairs had not yet been completed. What made things worse was that there were red flags on the beach each day with the ocean being unsafe to swim in.

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Clean and Updated Resort

The hotel lobby and bar area is really nice. The hotel rooms were clean, food was good and fresh and it was easy to get to the beach. Hotel is convenient to Airport and had everything we were looking for in a quick getaway

The Royal at Atlantis: Best Resort I've ever been too!!!!

The Atlantis is the best of the best.. It has something for everyone. No matter how old. Hotel staff go out of there way to make your stay enjoyable. I've been here 4 times and still can't get enough..

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Pleasant resort

As a party of four adults and a 10 month old baby, we spent a pleasant week at the Riu Palace on St Maarten. The hotel is plantation style set in nicely kept gardens. The accommodation is spacious and very clean. The beach is not suitable for long beach walks, but the water is calm and warm and lovely for swimming. The food was rather mediocre. There was a wide variety to choose from at every meal, but the quality was disappointing. The staff was very friendly, polite and helpful. The general ma [... read more]nager and assistant manager were approachable and Mr Clemont Perna went out of his way to accommodate special requests.

Good food. Close beach access! Had a great time. R n r with my wife. No problems with the hotel staff. Pool was small but decent. Food was great. Ample selection. Lots to choose from for everyone

The Royal at Atlantis: First but not last trip to Atlantis

Just got back from a quick 4 day getaway to the Atlantis Resort in Nassau Bahamas. The resort was everything we hoped it would be. Most people that we talked to were return guests and we could see why. The resort was very well taken care of. Very very friendly staff and very easy to figure things out. The included Wine n Dine Pass was very much appreciated and got used as well. Overall I would not recommend to others to do the all inclusive option as we saved a ton buying our own meals. The food [... read more] options were fairly plentiful and easily available. The casino and night club were both terrific and a lot of fun. The aquaventure pools/waterslides and lazy river were incredible whether child or adult. The beach options were great with several to choose from. Overall quite satisfied with the resort. We will be going back.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Amazing resort!

Loved the resort! Our room was very spacious, loved the view from our balcony! Mini fridge stocked with beer , pop, water along with the alcohol dispenser was a great feature. The food was excellent! Enjoyed the a la carte restaurants as well as the very plentiful buffet. The food was always fresh and tasty. Loved their coffee with hot milk! Great service from the time we checked in to the time we left. Staff were always very pleasant. Our room was always nicely cleaned. Riu Palace Paradise Island: Amazing people makes this resort a must try!

Although the hotel is a bit dated and the pool area is on the small side, the ocean front is spectacular! The food selection is more than adequate and quite tasty! Since our last visit, no reservations are needed for the specialty restaurants or so we were told. Apparently those who stood in line for dinner but didn't get in were promised reservations for the following evening, unfortunately we only found that out after waiting a half hour in line and then turned away. The Royal at Atlantis: Great Trip

Atlantis is a great place to go lots to do in the water park. Lots to to see and do on the resort itself. Food was good but pricey. Depending on where you stay there is not many places for breakfast. One thing I wasn't impressed with was to use a Canadian credit card some places want a copy of your driver licence. Which I was not to willing to do due to possible identity thief.Some places just looked at your ID to make sure you were the card holder. The Royal at Atlantis: Everything I expected and more!

Resort, service, amenities and especially the people were exceptional!!! I recommend Atlantis to be on everyone's bucket list!!! The beach tower, while a little dated, was very clean and comfortable. Just be sure to get the water view as the terrace view is just looking at the conference centre rooftops and quite ugly.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Amazing vacation

This is our 6th time back to the Riu Palace Bahamas. Although the resort itself can use some updates it is a great choice for the value. We travel there every September. The weather is great. The beach and the ocean are beautiful. Food is fantastic, especially the a la Carter at Krystal's. The Atlantas hotel and casino is right next door and you can walk through the aquarium after 6pm at no extra charge. We will continue to vacation here as long as possible

Riu Palace Paradise Island: VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

I am going to start off by saying our trip advisor Beth Mckinley did not do her job properly and we feel as if after we decided to pay for the trip and she was compensated she did not have any interest in making sure our trip went well or answering any questions, other than directing to links where I had to search for the information myself. I had asked her to apply the trip insurance multiple times and Beth kept saying she would contact me and never did and then said we can just go into the  [... read more]trip advisor place or call in ourselves to get the trip insurance added on, I ended up calling CAA to use them and was quite disturbed at the lack of customer service. On top of Beth not caring to help us out after we had paid for the trip she had forgot to mention that there would be a shuttle picking us up from the airport so we ended up taking a taxi that cost us $45 instead of a FREE shuttle ride, she also forgot to mention that the resort gourmet restaurants require you to wear long pants, this was a crucial detail that most trip advisors tell you about and because of this we had trouble going to those gourmet restaurants and had to wear workers pants that the hotel provided us with. We were also informed by our trip advisor that this place spoils you on your honeymoon and that she had called ahead of time to make sure they were aware that we would be going on our honeymoon, NOTHING happened through the entire trip we were treated like any other guest! We were also informed by our trip advisor that this place was brand new within 5 years and was a really nice hotel, which is also not true at all! On top of our trip advisor severely lacking customer service skills and showing that she cared at all for her clients, when we arrived at the hotel our first room we got smelled like disgusting routing mold and mildew! It smelled so bad that we started feeling sick from the smell and had to ask to be transferred to another room. Instead of the hotel being accommodating and giving us a better room we got a smaller room that still had a bit of smell but not as bad which was also very disapointing! This was just the beginning of our trip! After being told by a restaurant that I had to wear pants and because i did not bring any i had to wear their workers pants, we went to the Japenese restaurant there 2 nights after and saw another man wearing shorts. I did not think anything of it as I saw him leave and thought he was asked to get pants on and then he came back with shorts on. Then I proceeded to ask the doorman why he was allowed and I was not and was told that because they did not have the proper size pants (my pants were also 4 sizes too big), I was told by the doormen that it was up to him to use his discretion as to who is let into the restaurant. The worst part of all this is when we went and expressed our problems with the front desk very little was done to show their concern and make up for the lack of service, it was almost as if they did not care at all. Some of the staff was friendly but a lot of them seemed very miserable especially when asking for certain drinks that they don't like making like mojitos or long island ice teas, the drinks were also very inconsistent. The only things that I can say that were positive are the beaches being well kept and the food being good for the most part, a lot of nights the main buffet seemed to be the same, except the last night they had a Mexican theme that was very tasty. For what we paid it is definitely not worth the money, we would be interested in going back after they have completely finished the renovations at the riu so there is no longer any mold and mildew smell but we would not pay what we paid again as it is not worth the money. Atlantis is looking like the better option and we will be booking through another travel agency unless this is reconciled with proper compensation for the poor customer service and practically ruining our honeymoon!

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Paradise trip!

We liked the food and the pools. The beach is absolutely beautiful!!! The bahamas is truly a beautiful island! Friendly staff. Nice hotel, could use a little updating in the rooms, but overall, very nice. Love the restaurants they are very nice and modern looking. The service was within reason. We didn't have to wait long. The buffet was really good. They had a large variety of food and opened late. Loved that there was always something to do and great entertainment during the day and night. It' [... read more]s a kid friendly resort. Could use a children's Waterpark or splash pad. Our kids loved or there!

Sandals Royal Bahamian: Honeymoon cancelled

We didn't get to stay at Royal Bahamian as they closed down two weeks before we were to go there. We got to rebook at another Sandals. Maybe we will get the chance to go there one day. I can't comment on the resort so I'm not sure how it is.

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Beautiful Beach

Hotel was okay. Beach and pools were beautiful. Lots of things to do. Buffet restaurants were okay - food was luke warm at best. The al a carte restaurants were fabulous. Would go back for the beach!!!!
