Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Great hotel

Hotel, beach,waterfront, and staff where all excellent except the food was very bad. The leftovers seemed like they were served the following day and the exact same meals were served everyday. Very little choices to choose from. Food was not five star. Many people at resort same same thing. For this reason I would not recommend this Hotel.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Top notch resort!

Would have no hesitation booking at the Esmeralda again! Great beach, comfortable room, lots of attention to detail, good food & amenities and fantastic wifi. Bring earplugs though... the nightly entertainment is loud.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Amazing Resort for families

My wife and I took our kids (girl 8; boy 5) for a 7-day vacation to the Bahia Principe Grand Coba. In short, it was amazing. We loved our trip. - Food was great. We also really liked the Japanese Tepyniaki and the Indian restaurant. - Pools are huge with tons of chairs and huts (you can show up at 10am and still have shaded huts, or show up anytime and have a lounge chair but in the sun). Lots of iguanas and coaties. - Finally, the greatest thing was the Kids Club. The staff there are amazing. Kids were always looking forward to it and didn't want to leave. They rehearse during the day and put on plays in front of parents at night and its wonderful. kids did Moana, Frozen, and a talent show. A big thank you to Yuli, Ami, and Karla! Only con is the distance from the Cancun airport. About an hour and a half depending on traffic. But its well worth it for this resort. We will likely go again next year.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Very nice resort

On the whole the resort was very clean although some of the rooms need updating and the food was very good. Staff were pleasant and many spoke some English. There were a lack of umbrellas by the pools and a resort of this caliber should have had a lot more of them as it was brutal sitting in the sun without some shade. Also more ordinary chairs should be placed by the pools as not everyone wants to lie on a lounge chair and sitting on them is not comfortable for many. Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Average at best

We don't usually do reviews, but I think this resort warrants one. Overall resort is just average, what might have been a 5 star at one time, is maybe a 3.5 now. There are many upgrades needed in this resort, granted some have been completed and are still on going. Our room was a renovated room, which was very nice. The buffet restaurants definitely need some TLC, they are showing there age as well as some unpleasant smells which doesn't fair well when trying to eat. A La Cart restaurants  [... read more]were nice and food was good. Pools have algae and mold in them and never once saw anyone cleaning them in a 2 week span. You can never judge things on reviews alone, but, read and take the average experiences from others.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Amazing resort - Top notch and great service .

Very well organized and clean . Great staff at front desk and all around. Air Transat , as usual was great , although they damaged my wife’s suitcase which we have reported to them , and hopefully they will resolve soon . We would return there , as we were that pleased with the resort .

We had an amazing time at the Aquamarine. Everything was top notch EXCEPT the pool chairs. Was extremely annoying to be worried about our pool chairs. Mine were taken by your staff when I was at breakfast with my husband for a half hour. My friends were in the pool and their chairs were taken by the staff. The manager with the 2 long pigtails was extremely rude and did not listen to anything I was saying. She just kept saying, “I will take your chairs again if you are not there”. We paid a lot o [... read more]f money to come to your resort and it was upsetting to know our things were at risk of being taken away. We have never had this happen at any other resort. Perhaps more chairs are needed by the pool. Also more umbrellas as no shade available. Everything else was amazing. Pool was beautiful and your staff mostly very helpful. Oh and Juan was the BEST poolside waiter ever. Such zest for his job smiling and energetic all day long.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Lipstick on a pig.

The Bahia Principe Grande Punta Cana was badly in need of repair and maintainence,. Both of the buffet restaurants had areas in which the smell of sewage was overpowering , table and chairs were worn, broken and chipped. Food was generally good but constantly running short. We had one of the renovated suites and as such was pleasantly appointed and roomy. A lack of ventilation in the bathroom was allowing mold to form in the corners of the shower and under the sink. The beach pool and beach wer [... read more]e over crowded and lacked space for the number of guests booked in. Central pools and deck areas weren't as crowded but the 2 pools were serviced by 1 washroom with 2 male and 2 female stalls, for several days this area was flooded by overflowing toilets and had fecal matter floating in it. None of the stalls were lit as motion sensor switches had been removed and covered with steel plates.Pools had algae coating the perimeter drains and large areas in the center of the pools. Some staff were very helpful but many were just marking time. Upon arrival the resort looked fine but after a few days of constantly dealing with issues it became obvious that it was severely overcrowded and lacked the amenities for such a volume of guests.Meals felt like cattle calls with long lines, no plates and missing items. A LA carte restraunts were rushed and not pleasant dining experiences. To sum up the experience it was crowded and rough around the edges like a cheap carnival. 3 star resort at best.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Bouganville is a Gem

I will start out by saying that the resort, every part of it was immaculately clean. From the rooms to the public areas and grounds. The staff are constantly cleaning everything!. The front desk were amazing, (shout out to Fabulous Fabio) helping in every way. We love the colonial architecture which to us is a great feature. We are not modernists and the whole resort felt comfortable and pleasing. Having the choice of an activity pool or quite pool was a bonus. And everything is only a [... read more] short walk. The buffet food was excellent with lots of choices. We even wandered over to La Romana, the family side of the resort a few times for dinner at the buffet and shopping. And coffee in the morning with a game of billliards by the bar before the heat of the day was fun. I would recommend this Resort to anyone as we had such a wonderful stay and will definately return.

There is so many mosquitoes my husband covered head to toe with. Wealth please bring mosquito repellent We had an issue with bugs and bad smell in our first room the next day they moved to another next to a construction site that was jackhammering at 7sm The only thing that ok was the food good the room was clean the beach is nice

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Best all inclusive I've stayed at

Wow!! This place is awesome. We have zero complaints. If we had a problem it was fixed for us right away. The grounds are beautiful. Pools are a perfect temperature for February. It was hot 30 degrees everyday. The food.. let's just say the buffet is amazing. If you want it they have it. We ate at 4 Al a carte. 2 were on the Sian Kaan resort the others were at the other properties All food was 5 star. Best All inclusive food we have ever had. If you love the cruise food you will love the food [... read more] here. Transportation to the beach and other resorts was on a tram. It was very efficient. All 4 resorts are beautiful. We played golf at the pga riviera maya golf course 3 times. It's expensive but hey you are on vacation so oh well. Great course in great condition. Bring lots of balls it's tough. The course was 2 minutes from our room. We definately will be back. Don't pay attention to any bad reviews. This place is well worth the money.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Amazing Resort!

The facility is beautiful, huge and has many beaches and pools, resulting in a long "coast line" with plenty of beach chairs that are shaded. We never had to "fight" for a chair or rush to "reserve" one. The other guests were spaced away nicely so we had our privacy by the beach and pools - maybe because it was off season in February. The beach and pool parties were an absolute blast - the entertainment staff were very engaging. I loved that the resort had such an open and airy infrastructure. We spent all 4 days in the resort without even leaving and we loved it.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Very nice, clean, amazing stuff. Great food choices. Good organization.

Hotel, rooms and all amenities great!!! very happy to stay there, had a good time with friends. weather great, food great, amazing and friendly stuff. we will recommend for sure and come back in few years.

The service we received when there was 5 star . The people are so nice you can have a conversation with them.they were very accommodating from 24hour room service which was good our fridge was never empty we tip out beer cart conisour and he took very good care of us .the tub worked and the water was always hot .the bed was good and ac was ice cold . The maids always turn it down so check thermostat or u will freeze.the food was great we loved Jazmin buffet and the jerk centre chicken. Lots of options for smokers aswell.the pools were great again lots of options multiple pools to suit your liking.we think the lobby bar was first class drinks and service . We used a private driver for our excursions ask Garfield about Raymond he took good care of us. Much cheaper and u spend time doing what you want not sitting in bus all day..the resort is getting long in the tooth but they were always painting trying to maintain.very clean resort . My biggest complaint is do not get a room facing the highway it is not quit trucks all day blowing horns an Jake breaks very frustrating by end of week as we would spend time on balcony between 3:30 and 5:300 before super and end of day before bed .

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Couples Vacation to the Bahia

We loved the Bahia Akumal, this property really has put the effort into accommodating everyones needs, vacation type and budget. This property has 4 resorts in one, if you stay at Akumal and Sian Ka'an you have access to all 4 resorts which are accessible by tram. And you have 7 a la carte dinners at any of the restaurants on the property. By using the bahia app you can book your a la carte up to 10 days before your departure. We really enjoyed that aspect of our trip was already taken care of.  [... read more] Akumal makes efforts to ensure there are adults only spaces throughout the resort; on the beach as well as an infinity pool with its own buffet, which was also adults only, offering breakfast and lunch. We really enjoyed this feature as we could go for breakfast and stay till lunch and then decide where we wanted to go for the rest of the afternoon. Sian Ka'an was the other adults only; however the age demographic was mostly 50-60's and this resort was a good distance from the beach and more of a jungle vibe; very quite and secluded. However we prefer to be near the beach where we can hear the ocean. If you are a Golfer this side of the resort has a PGA course. Some of the differences between Akumal and Tulum (the more popularly booked option and the biggest section of the complex) Tulum is more updated and is quite large, it also has the biggest beach frontage however the largest section of the beach (at least during the time of year we were there: February) didnt have enough space between the short and an incline to put loungers so the loungers for this section were behind a short fence and some greenery/vegetation. This part of the beach is also the closest to Tulum's largest pool. So a bit of a walk down the beach to get to the loungers that are directly on the beach where you can see the surf. The beaches at Akumal give you more options in terms of terrain; the adults only section of the beach has quite a lot of ocean life and a great spot to snorkel, they ensure all akumal beaches have surf breaks and therefore much calmer water to enter and exit from and makes snorkeling possible however, one of these beach options was fairly rocky so consider wearing water shoes. Tulums bigger beach doesn't have a break and during our stay the waves were too strong to make the swim enjoyable, so it was really nice to have a calmer option at akumal. Tulum has more snack bars for between the lunch and dinner service buffets then Akumal has, and we found that they kept those snack bars more stocked and therefore more options to choose from then akumal. We found the differences between the luxury option at Akumal and Tulum and Coba to be slight but worth it. They have poolside and beach drink service. They have service at every bar vs self serve at some of tulums bars. The Buffets were comparable however, the higher end option at Tulum might be something like Piaya and at Akumal a chef sliced roast or meat of some kind. Also things like Avocado/guacamole was at all of the Akumal buffets but not at Tulum when we came for a meal. So small subtle differences but you could see them throughout your stay. Some of the negative parts of our stay would be in the buffets; the food is so poorly labeled for anyone with dietary requirements aka allergy its very unclear if you are getting what is labeled at any point. For example the sushi was never labeled properly and when asked for clarification they were unable to tell us which item was which. Or when looking at the options before you, there is clearly a dish of plantains however that tag is no where on the listing for that section. There is no allergen warnings labeled either. And even in section where there was several things containing shellfish the labels were not accurate. This is likely a common occurrence down south where english is a second language however, its worth noting if you have concerns in this area. We also had a few small items go missing from our room, so that was disappointing but not large enough items to worth mentioning to staff. The location from Cancun is a bit of a trip, it was only supposed to take 1.5 hours but due to traffic and road maintenance it took 3 hours to get there. Upon speaking to other guests that arrived through Tulum airport they said it took no time at all to make it through the airport and they were at the resort in under and hour. Overall we had a great trip, we would return to this location, and we would recommend it to friends.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Great resort

Found the pictures of the pool very misleading! Instead of one large long pool as we had expected, it was broken up into several separate pools!! The buffet was passable but not great for every meal. The ala carte restaurants were excellent and dispite comments to the contrary we had NO PROBLEM making reservations for them at the customer service desk once we arrived.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Excellent Choice

Just recently spent a week at the Luxury Esmeralda resort and absolutely loved it.  I never write reviews but felt this resort deserved one.   Truthfully no real complaints with our stay.  We used the app to check in online before arriving which made it easy when we arrived.  Also pre booked our dinners at the restaurants.  Our room for 3 was great, lots of space for us to all get ready.   The grounds were kept great, staff constantly keeping all areas & bathrooms always clean.     [... read more] We enjoyed the main pool and want to give shout out to Juan & Carlos for such great service with our drinks all day long!  The entertainment staff Hector and Bubalue had such energy and always friendly chatting with everyone.   Also had amazing service from Emanuel our guest services who helped us change a dinner reservation and with our room.  Very helpful and pleasant to deal with.  Highly recommend and bonus was we had access to the adult only Ambar resort for the pool, restaurants etc.   Thanks Shannon for a great recommendation!

Stunning hotel with great beachfront for swimming. Lots of wildlife to see snorkelling off the beach. Very good buffet and excellent restaurants. Access to great outings. Exception and kind service. Lots to do! Highly recommend.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Never Disappoints

We are in our 60s, and have visited Sian Ka’an about 18 times. We keep returning primarily because of the quiet atmosphere, and the amazing staff. It is a bit dated and in need of refreshing, no question. But it is good value.
