Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Another Great Vacation

We just returned from our third stay at the Royal Decameron Complex in beautiful Bucerias. We travelled with family and friends. The resort is a complex of six building blocks. I requested block 6 as it is the furthest away from the main part of the resort and therefore quieter and although there is a bar closeby, we have never been disturbed by excessive noise. Our room, 6224 had a king bed, couch, table and chairs, TV with cabinet for storage, nighttables with drawers, a good sized closet with [... read more] safe, 3 piece bathroom (shower only). The bed was VERY firm but I was able to sleep comfortably. Others might consider it too hard. There is no fridge in the room but one can be requested (not sure if there is an extra charge). Bottled water was provided and bottles could be refilled at the bar. There is a store at the resort and the supermarket is within walking distance for extra water, snacks, etc. There are two large buffet style restaurants as well as specialty restaurants which have to be reserved in advance. We ate at the Japanese restaurant which was good and also the Brazilian which was ok but not my favourite as I don't eat a lot of red meat. The food at the buffet was plentiful with lots of choices. The staff were friendly and always pleasant. There were a total of five pools and lounge chairs were plentiful. We didn't spend a lot of time sitting at the pool as we always had plans with friends and family. The beach was well maintained and chairs were plentiful. Some guests brought blow up mattresses for the plastic chairs as they would be uncomfortable to lie on for long periods of time. I didn't do a lot of sitting as I like to be active and took advantage of the many walking paths. There is a gym with cardio equipment and weights and a spa. I had a lovely facial and friends had massages. The spa services are not included but are reasonably priced and there are specials during the week such as a couples massage. There are activities at the pool during the day and I did some pottery painting which was enjoyable. This was also at an additional cost depending on what you chose to paint. The staff glazed the pottery and corrected any mistakes. I was very pleased with the jewelry box I painted. At night there were theme shows at the theater and also a disco. I watched a few shows which were entertaining but never stayed up for the disco as I was always tired after a full day of activities. We stayed for 9 nights and were sorry our vacation went by so quickly. Can't wait to return next year!

This hotel is Canadians home away from home. Many people return again and again for this reason. The staff are amazing and the resort is large enough not to feel crowded and yet it doesn't feel huge. I love it here and will return, just like many others.

Grand Decameron Panama: Not very kid friendly

This was our second time at the Royal Decameron Panama. We found it very clean and well maintained. Problems were it was not very kid friendly. Food was sub par as well. People were very friendly and staff were great. Hotel needs to invest in more shade umbrellas. The sun is very hot and we felt there were not enough umbrellas for shade. It was tough for the kids to be exposed all day in the sun.

the royal Decameron is good value for the price. Our only complaint is the beds and pillows are too hard. The staff are fantastic and friendly. We have been to Royal Decameron Complex five times and would return again.

Decameron San Luis: Beautiful resort in the calm quiet part of San Andres

After staying at this resort during the first week of February 2019 with my boyfriend, I can say that we made the right choice in picking this resort in San Louis, the quieter part of San Andres. The food was delicious, the staff was helpful and the resort was kept clean at all times. The nightly entertainment was great and was different every night. There is a lot to do on the island as well, and definitely worth the trip.

Grand Decameron Panama: Tips & Tricks

This is the perfect stay if you do not require extra bells & whistles. Yes, a lot of walking (to wear off the food)so bring several comfortable sandals. If you prefer less walking consider purchasing a lower level room. If you have any concerns, go to the Transat desk and they will do everything to try to accommodate you. We were not happy with our 2 double beds, but changed us to a single King bed the same day. A+ Food was pretty good, just not really hot - more like lukewarm unless you got it  [... read more]from the grill. If you need a beach/pool chair, put your towel on at 6am or earlier. They book quickly and there is no resort rule about saving chairs. It was a little confusing about what restaurants are open at what times. It would be helpful if they posted them outside each restaurant. If you're travelling with a group of 6+, consider inquiring about gold bands as they give you more privileges and cost WAY less in Canada than down there in US $. For the average traveller, in my opinion, is not needed.

This was our 11th visit to this resort and the number of repeat guests is amazing. Staff work very hard and aim to please. The buffets change every day and you can always find something good to eat. There is a gourmet station 1-2 times per week where the chef prepares plates that look too pretty to eat. The rooms are basic but very clean. The grounds are beautiful. The entertainment is excellent, including an Elvis impersonator show on Mondays. Staff are receptive to feedback. The beach is ver [... read more]y long and you can walk for miles. Kayaks, boogie boards, and a ride on the catamaran are included. This all inclusive gives you good value.

Grand Decameron Panama: Lovely stay at Decameron

Wonderful relaxing 4th stay at the hotel..staff were friendly, room very clean and good food. Found the entertainment a little loud but all in all a good time had by all. Would recommend to take a cushion for the beach lounge chairs they are not very comfortable.

Grand Decameron Montego Beach: The view

I have stayed here several times as well as the adjacent sister resort Cornwall beach. The resort is small so you don’t get multiple restaurants. There is one al a carte and the main buffet. I love that they focus on island fare, ox tail, jerk chicken & pork, curry goat, etc. It’s all great and they always have homemade cookies. They both have fantastic ocean views from almost every room. The Royal Decameron Montgomery beach has 144 rooms with only about 10 called run of the house which do not have ocean side balconies. Our balcony was so close to the water that from the third floor we could not even see the small beach below us, only the water which is great with many shades of blue THE VIEWS Are gorgeous. You won't get this view at most other resorts without paying a huge premium. The entertainment is good at night.

The food was amazing and had a great variety at the buffet.The animation was good and the shows were very entertaining. The rooms would need a little work , especially the bathrooms but besides that....we had an amazing time!

This was my fourth stay over the past 15 years and has only has gotten better. Great staff, beautiful grounds. Clean rooms and great food. Lots of staff on and always willing to help. Great place for all ages and lots to enjoy at the resort and lots to go and do close by if wanted

Grand Decameron Panama: Great resort but greatly disappointed as well!!

This was our 4th trip to this resort. It did not disappoint in the food, accommodation, cleanliness, service or golf. It did however disappoint in the newly created upgraded areas. We lost access to our favorite pool and lobby bar. We were not told of this at the time of booking but found it when we arrived. Had we known, we would have definitely upgraded. To upgrade there, it was outrageously expensive. If we had of done this when we booked, it would have been a fraction of the cost. We did c [... read more]ontact our travel agent for assistance and she told us to speak to the Transat representative on site. They were no help either. However, other travel agents made it right for their clients and the upgrade was provided to them. Good for them but not for us. This resort has created some big problems with this new upgrade area. It is highly under utilized and creating over crowding in other areas. Cleanliness is becoming a problem in the pools and lazy river waterways. Will we return for the 5th time? Sadly I am really not sure.

The resort nice, it certainly isn't a luxury resort but certainly a good value. It is Panama and you need to understand that. Have been going for 10 years and so much enjoy it. The golf is great. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

It is hard to describe all the spectacular features offered by this resort . Grounds are gorgeous and a joy to walk around in. Pools are well maintained and very user friendly. Staff is great and always willing to help. Rooms are basic but comfortable and clean. Food is plentiful and the buffets offer something for everyone. Weather has been spectacular both times we have been there.

This travel deal is not worth the money. There is a real language barrier unless you speak Spanish . The lodging needs some serious upgrading. One key (an actual key) per room. An extra one is available for $15 but be sure and keep your receipt or no refund! No coffee machines in the rooms and the safes are an additional $3 a day . Housekeeping was satisfactory. Grand Decameron Los Cabos: Great food but...

The hotel was clean and well maintained. There were lots of available pool and beach chairs. The servers and cleaning staff were great. However I was unaware of the premium option. There were areas of the hotel that were not available to non premium guests. The fee to upgrade seemed to high for the extended options. So we missed out on the rooftop pool and did have to pay a fee for wifi. There was entertainment nightly though we choose to give it a miss mostly. Grand Decameron Panama: Must try

It was a great vacation. Definately different from the same old same old. Rooms were nice and no musty smells. Food was good and plentiful. Beach was nice and enough pools to please everyone. Not all crowded. Only downfall here was english is hard to come by. Some knowledge of French or spanish for restaurants would benefit for simple things like salt, pepper ketchup. There are shuttles as well though. There is a little restaurant off the resort and across the road, maybe a five minute walk, called La Fogata, they speak english. I would recommend doing one dinner there. Cost was cheap. $75.00 for what would cost easily over &150.00 at home. Great time was had.

Grand Decameron Los Cabos: Don’t waste your money

We decided to go to Royal DeCameron, Los Cabos as we have been to same hotel in PV on a few occasions and quite enjoyed it and felt that it had some Mexican Charm to it so thought the Los Cabos resort would be similar. Check in was easy with great front end staff. No problems there. Got to our room, unpacked and went to have shower. The shower head was just hanging from wall with water ‘dribbling’ out of it. They had someone take us to a new room to check it out before we moved which was great. Our question was why they would put guests in a room they knew was not functional? The bonus with the new room is we could sit out on our balcony and watch the nightly show which was located in our section of hotel. Maid service was good but after a week we actually had to go reception to ask for a sheet change as it appears they only did it when you left ( we were there for 2 weeks).br /> Pool(s) were not heated. Four days there was no-one in the pools because they were too cold. Of course you could not swim in ocean due to undertow. Beach vendors pretty much leave you alone. Breakfast at buffet always good...eggs, pancakes, etc. Lunch at LaLuna usually good. Buffet was just ok (we are not fussy at all but there was always something you could eat) LaLuna (the only a la carte) was hit or miss. It was like they pre-cooked the food and 50% of the time the food was stone cold. In 18 years of doing all inclusives, we have never had such terrible wine. It was foul. We had to go to the COMER store to purchase our own wine to take for dinner. We were not the only ones. You had to book La Luna by 8:00am to make a reservation every day. The bars were not the greatest as one would close and then you would have to go to another one. There were 3 bars. Walking around the area outside if hotel was very nice. Loved the bike lanes even though they were seldom used. Very clean streets around the area. Very pedestrian friendly. Most of the bar tenders and servers were great. For us especially America and Rodrigo (snack/lunch servers at La Luna),Pedro also known as Junior (La Luna excellent daytime bartender), Marcelo at buffet at La Luna is a great, lovable, friendly character. Very honourable mention goes to Omar at the pool bar who is an excellent bartender and is adept at handling “overdrinkers”. As there are safes in the rooms, charging extra for their use is just a money grab. WiFi, for which we paid $10 US for 1 day, sort of worked in the lobby and was so irregular in our room as to be practically useless. I din’t Think we will ever go back to this resort nor recommend it to anyone.

cons Buffet not great. Not much variety and often not very hot. Beach area peddlers constantly asking if we wanted anything. No pool swim up bar. No drink service pool side or on beach. Had to book ala cart each day around 7 am. Pros Super clean resort. Staff constantly cleaning. Grounds were well taken care of. Pool side snack shack awesome with great service from Manuel. Could always find someone that speaks English. Resort was easy to to navigate. Security was good. Never felt unsafe.
