Fabulous Vacation

We are a family of 2 children aged 8 and 10, their mother and grandmother. We loved the hotel. We enjoyed dinner at the themed dining rooms. While nothing is ever perfect, we found the staff very friendly and always attentive to our needs. The ocean beach was lovely clean and not terribly crowded. We had opportunity to meet local Cubans there which we enjoyed very much. There was programs for the children which they also enjoyed. Fun resort

This resort is so much fun due to the type of tourists that come. Would recommend highly. Don't judge on the price as the value is so good. Been going for 5 years and there is always so much to do and the Cubans are so friendly.

Great time

This resort is huge! We stayed in the Tropical Hotel section which was great. Far enough from the lobby to not hear the crowd at night. Beautiful ocean view. Clean, well maintained room. Lots of excursions to choose from. Awesome swim-up bar. Made lots of new friends. GREAT STAFF! Cons: We found other tourists to be very rude at times. With long line-ups people would push their way to the front. Buffet food not the best, but booking al a cart is easy. Excellent value

Beach and staff wonderful. Would go again without hesitation.. Food not great but never starved..ala cartes really good.. Beautiful sunshine everyday 34 degrees. Cuban people very nice and thankful for any small gifts they were given

Huge resort!

Resort is very big and different in quality: standard room, we booked , was very old and bad - leaking plumbing, no door at wardrobe, cripple dresser, no balcony. After we complained to reception and paid more $8.00/day, we moved to bungalow second floor unit with good condition and balcony. Restaurant near central lobby always overcrowded, but there are another 2 restaurants and café. All of them are with poor choice of food and slow services and bad coffee, but a lot of good coffee and drinks [... read more] at bars. Sea and beach are very good, but it is public area and a lot of local peaple with drink and food around you. Our flight was late at evening and we got at room near midnight, so one day is gone and last day we have to hang around without room and towels after 12:00 check out time - it spoiled last day too.

Excellent place to go if you just want to get away

I loved the people, as I always do, this was my 9th trip to Holguin, Cuba but first time to Club Amigo. The food, even for Cuba wasn't the best I have had but it's just a three star so you don't expect the Ritz. The beaches were amazing, pools were great and sunshine was spectacular

Poor maintenance of the hotel - SLIP AND FELL

I slipped and fell on the last night at the hallway of the one of the villa complexes on my way back from the 10pm show from the bungalow side back to my own gardenview room, it was quiet as it was almost 11pm and it was so dark there. The water pipes from the ceiling at the complex were leaking had made the floor flooded and the tiled floors became very slippery plus the lights were very minimal there. I was in pain and was unable to walk and my husband settled me sitting on the couch nearby and waiting for the villa personnel to come. I discovered my right ankle got swollen right away. My husband had noticed that there was a wet floor sign which was situated at the right hand side about six feet from the water spots. There was an old gentleman carrying his walker coming and my husband had warned him not to come forward and my husband took the wet floor sign and put it right on the watery spot immediately in order to prevent the other people from falling down. There was a villa personnel came and he had reported mt accident to the duty manager immediately and I was then sent by ambulance to the clinic and doctor there gave me a needle for inflammation. They said it was probably a ligament problem. I had reported the incident to the representative of Nolitours next morning before my departure back home. The duty manager there had asked me to send in a formal written complaint to Nolitours and to the hotel upon return. It is an ankle fracture case and I had the plaster done at the Rouge Valley Hospital and I need to be out of work and social life for at least six weeks. WHAT A NIGHTMARE JOURNEY!!!

Good for the price

The resort is really big,4 pools, lots of bars. But no consistency with the drinks at all. Food is eatable but always the same. Staff was just OK. Rooms were just ok but in need of TLC. People on the excursions were more appreciative. Weather was great.

6x at the same resort!

I've been travelling to Cuba 2x every year and always book with Tripcentral. I have visited almost every beach. However I am drawn back to Club Amigo! I can't wait to go back! The service is great, beautiful beach and friendly staff!

Nice resort, beautiful beach

This resort is set in a beautiful location, the scenery is beautiful. We stayed in the bungalows which are spacious and clean, the food is average but we don't go away for the food. The Cuban people are wonderful and very friendly, this is our second time to the resort and would go again.

Fun resort

My husband and I booked Club Amigo last minute and got an AMAZING deal! We were a little concerned about staying at a three star resort as we had only stayed at four star resorts previously. We went with no expectations and we're very pleasantly surprised! Upon arrival check in was very fast and efficient and friendly. The room was a little old and shabby, but was clean and functional. There were no towels when we arrived but the cleaner arrived within minutes with fresh towels for us. On day tw [... read more]o we asked to move to an upper level room just out of personal preference and we were happily accommodated. The things that make the resort less than 4star are the wonky air conditioner that turned on and off in the night and beeped intermittently, even when it was turned off, the three days that the hot water ran out and we had to have cold showers, the mismatched slightly stained towels (they we're clean enough), and the buffets which had very little selection and no outdoor tables (breakfast at Benny's, lunch at the snack bar, and dinner at the a la cart restaurants were all good). The beach is fabulous and had lots of beach chairs. (A towel on the sand is great too)! The snorkelling out on the reef is good. We took out a paddle boat and took turns snorkelling off the paddle boat. Or swim out from the pirate beach and go toward the Brisas resort. The bars are plentiful, so bring your babba keg and enjoy the party!

Club Amigo April 2015

I was extremely pleased with my vacation. First time to Cuba and I was a bit skeptical. Had perfect weather which was a bonus. Everything went well. Good flight. Bus trip and the guide to the resort were very interesting. Resort itself was impressive, nicely spread out and not all packed into a high rise. Very nice resort

This resort was very busy when we went for the two weeks, however, we enjoyed the hotel, the grounds and the food, our excursions were very nice and the beach was exceptional. I went scuba diving and it was a wonderfull experience diving in tropical waters. the drinks were cold and amazing, the cappuccinos were hot and the beach was clean and very nice. The main beach is a public beach and we were bothered by locals to some extent but not to excess. plenty of security and police to watch over th [... read more]e guests. the grounds were very clean as was the buildings. We would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a nice place to spend a week or two.

Great place for 3 stars

We had an awesome trip.. For a 3 star resort is was great!! I would definitely recommend going here. Reasonably priced and lots to do. The food is plentiful but not overly creative but this seems to be the normal in Cuba. Staff was friendly and helpful. Always something to do. Nightly entertainment was terrific! No trouble with water or plumbing. Beds are not the most comfortable but were clean and lump free. If you want fairly quiet are choose the Villa section. If you want close to the nightly [... read more] activities choose bungalows.. and for the daytime party area stay in the main hotel area. We had a Villa with an ocean view and enjoyed it thoroughly.. Definitely would recommend going here.. Upgrades are being done to the grounds.. Beaches were soft and clean :)

Nice beach, but horrible resort

Horrible resort, four people in one room, no water, no toilet paper, mould on the walls. The food was bar far the worst i have ever had. I've been to cuba many times and was expecting sub par food but this was the worst. The bars had no ice, cola, vodka and i witnessed them watering down their alcohol.

It was amazing resort

It was better hotel than we thought it was big place excellent service room was great ( food meat wise not so good lots of time meat uncooked and mixing up pork everywhere not good at all.) Other than that all ok but one thing I would like to ask you when the returning flight so late at night checked out from hotel should be at least at 3pm not 12 noon thanks.

Good Resort to visit

Just be careful what type of room you book. The bungalows or villas are definitely better than some of the other room types. The food was good, always found something to eat. Pools and bars were good.

Excellent time

We were at the resort for2 weeks had a great time we were repeat guests staff were very nice and a pleasure to be with rooms in the tropical area need some updating however we will be back I will be back for sure with friends swimming up bar was super and the staff!

Beauitful Beaches

Upon arrival everything looked great! We really enjoyed our stay although we were very disappointed that the extras we paid for, we were not able to have. We upgraded our room for the extras big disappointment and waste of money.

Amazing resort and great staff

This was our 3rd year to this resort we love it and the staff are amazing... it's our home away from home.. the weather is beautiful and the beach is stunning!! No pressure to give to the locals and they are so helpful we love it
