Dreams Playa Esmeralda Resort and Spa: Beautiful New Resort !

The beach is beautiful,great for walking. Having the restaurants all together was convenient. We went to the Secrets adult only restaurants and the food was great. À la Carte restaurants and Buffett had something for everyone and great service! A very walkable resort with everything you need within 5 minutes. Rooms were spacious and clean. We had a third floor partial ocean view and also a view of the pool areas and it was amazing ! High speed elevators were convenient. Service from wait staff a [... read more]t bars including beach and pool was fast and friendly. The bus ride from the airport is long but beautiful scenery and not a dealbreaker at all. This is a quieter resort and was a perfect fit for us travelling as a couple with a desire to rest and relax. We travel yearly with a group of 14-16 and would not recommend this resort for a large group. The public spaces such as the lobby are smaller and not really set up to seat a group. We would definitely return to the Dreams Playa Esmeralda!

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: Lovely with some issues

Other than the language barrier and issues with our bathroom that ended up with us demanding a room move, this resort is lovely. Very clean, grounds well maintained, food awesome, beach phenomenal. We had a great stay.

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Ocean Al Faro Beso adult only

Food was generally warm at best at all locations as we ate at the buffet and most of the restaurants. Hotel is a bit over 6 years old and the rooms decor is old looking and not well maintained. Some staff were very good and others were just there to do a job and appeared as they couldnt care less if you were there or not.

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Beautiful Resort

We stayed in the level and enjoyed the access we had to the restaurants and the private beach. Food itself was amazing - even at the buffet - huge selection! And make sure to enjoy the "waters' at the spa - even if you do not have a treatment. Although the beach itself is beautiful there is so much seaweed that walking along the shore is not so pleasant and you cannot go swimming. Also, from the beach area to the main lobby and activity zone is a good 10 minute walk - so be prepared for that. They do have golf carts though but sometimes you have to wait a while. Bring small bills for tips.

The swim out with partial ocean view - the best room ever! Awesome beach for walking! The food was amazing!! Delicious cocktails! Great aqua fitness sessions. Excellent staff and service. Wish I was still there!

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Go somewhere else

Hotel was very nice. We've always loved D.R. and when we first booked we wanted to stay longer than the original group pkg. but our travel agent was hard to reach, I watched a waiter steal two pair of sunglasses off of the table and when he was confronted gave them back, but no repercussions for him as far as I know. He may have taken other peoples things, Service seemed to be a chore even though our group are big tippers. Won't return. Didn't feel safe or welcomed. Ocean El Faro: Okay Resort but wont go back.

Food at alacarts was excellent, buffet was pretty good but the service set up not really great. i like to be offered coffee, tea, water, juice when i sit down. i don't like to have to serve myself of flag somebody down. Pools, lazy river, water park all fantastic. Resort old but very well laid out. Beach too small and too rough. Bathrooms spaced out too far apart. Lots of walking to get to the facilities. Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Resort is ok

The Jr. Suites are small, including the toilet area & shower, if you are a bigger person you will find the toilet room too small and challenging to enter/exit. If you upgrade to better rooms or even diamond club the experience is completely different (we had people in our group that were diamond club). The service at the restaurants is terrible, they were disorganized and it became quite frustrating. It was difficult to get glasses for water & then getting them refilled, when you asked staff for a drink they seemed to forget about your request. I didn't see a supervisor or manager on the floor to ensure proper flow of staff to manage client needs. The resort was not full which made the lack of service surprising. Unfortunately the service at the a la carte restaurants was not any better. Cleaning of the rooms daily didn't always occur which was odd, we had to address this multiple times, we had a large group and other people in different buildings experienced the same situation. Bar service was good & the drinks, the food was good. Service at the Cafe was the absolute best! Entertainment at night was fantastic. We won't return to this resort due to the service, it is surprising how much this negatively impacted our stay. There were people in our group that had been to this resort three times and will not return.

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Definitely not a 5 star!

After much waiting and excitement, this resort really did not meet our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff were largely unhelpful and disinterested in anything we asked. There was no tour of explanation of anything, even the location of the buffet. No activities were posted anywhere except for beside the buffet, and we were repeatedly told to “use the app” when we asked questions. You will wait a very long time for drinks, even when you go to the bar yourself for them. The food was terrible - honestly, terrible. Overall, this is in no way a “wellness” resort, it is not luxury or five star. I would rate it 3.5 at best.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Mixed Feelings

One of the main reasons I picked this resort was because it advertised that it has tennis and pickleball courts. Unfortunately, the tennis courts are in terrible shape, almost unplayable, and even dangerous because of the uneven surface, poor repairs, and improper surface paint. The pickleball court isn't much better. On the other hand, the food was very good and as was the service staff. A final comment: The departure at Punta Cana airport was a disaster, very poorly organized, as we had to stand in various lines (an hour and a half for an Air Canada bag drop) and another thirty minutes for security and customs.

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: Another great Iberostar

A quality resort, very clean and very well maintained. Very friendly and attentive staff in all areas. Excellent food choices and high end beverages. Fully equipped gym and lots of activities to work off the extra calories.

Secrets Tides Punta Cana: Great resort

All of the staff are very pleasant and helpful. Beautiful grounds, room and beach. Lots of lounging chairs available to relax by the pool or at the beach. Restaurants are very good too! A very pleasant relaxing week.

Impressive Premium Punta Cana: Impressive Premium Punta Cana

We had no issues at this Resort. Our rooms were clean. The staff was friendly. Our food was great especially the filet mignon at The Grill. Lots of loungers available. We seen the Queen Show and Circus Show and thought they were great. The Coffee Shop is a really nice touch as we went there every morning.

Secrets Tides Punta Cana: Beautiful!

The hotel & guest rooms were just beautiful. Plenty of lounges by the pools & great choices for restaurants. I would highly recommend this resort. Customer service went above & beyond so many times.

Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort: Amazing Resort - Truly had my heart

We stayed at the Lopesan from January 4 to January 11, and I have to say—this hotel truly had my heart. It had everything you could possibly need. There was a 24-hour sports bar in the lobby, along with 24-hour room service, which was amazing. The room hallways, pools, and washrooms were always clean and well maintained. One thing that really stood out was that the hotel has its own boulevard, something many hotels I’ve stayed at don’t offer. There were also many different shops, including organic stores, duty-free, a candy shop, clothing shops, and a pharmacy with a 24-hour doctor’s office, which was very reassuring. The resort had so much for kids. There were two water parks—one located at the end of the boulevard, which was actually really nice. You could spend a full day or just a couple of hours there, and since it was out of sight, it was out of mind if you didn’t want to go every day. There was also a teen club, a kids club, an arcade, bowling, and three escape rooms. Lastly, the entertainment team and staff were incredible. There was always something going on, and they truly engaged with guests around the pool and during the nightly shows. They were honestly my favorite part of the resort. Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Family Vacation

Our stay at this hotel was a mixed experience. Check-in was very slow, which was frustrating after traveling. The original room we were given had multiple issues: the air conditioning did not work, and both the safe and mini fridge were broken. The manager was helpful and arranged a new room, which we appreciated, but the process took about two hours. Our daughter and son-in-law also had problems with their family room—it was missing a bed and had not been properly cleaned upon arrival. On [... read more] a positive note, the kids’ activities were excellent. The kids’ zone pool and waterslides were a highlight and very well enjoyed. The à la carte restaurants were decent and provided some nice dining options. One of the biggest drawbacks was the lack of beach towels, which were frequently unavailable. In addition, lounge chairs were often saved very early in the morning, making it difficult to find seating later in the day. Overall, while the resort has great amenities for kids, the service and room issues impacted our stay.

You won’t regret booking here. This is the place to go to forget real life and relax and unwind. Buffet was full of great choices. I felt so good all week. Pool and beach have lots of loungers. Would suggest going to claim a lounger when the sun comes up to get a perfect spot. Staff were great. Benjamin at the breakfast and lunch buffet in the Level area was so fun and kind. Such a friendly face to greet us. Every part of the Level is worth it. Secrets Royal Beach: Mediocre Resort

Not too any choices regarding food, but overall it was good. Room Service was very poor. Had to call several times to get what we needed. Entertainmaint was fair. Staff was fairly good, and obliging, and helpful.

Presidential Suites Punta Cana: Will Not Be Returning

Our stay at Bakour Punta Cana Suites was unfortunately very disappointing overall, especially given the expectations we had for a family double birthday trip — though there were a few bright spots worth mentioning. We arrived late and the resort allowed us to quickly eat at the buffet before it closed, which we appreciated after a long travel day. However, our suite was not prepared for five guests. There were only four towels provided, with no extra sheets or pillows. It took over 24 hours  [... read more]to receive additional bedding and bottles of water after repeated follow-ups. The in-room phone did not work, making it impossible to call the front desk or order room service. All communication had to be done via WhatsApp. We were assisted by Saimy at the front desk, whose response time was quite good and appreciated — though solutions still took far too long to be implemented. There was also an extra fee to decorate the room for our birthday, which typically isn't charged. Im normally away for my bdays and I've never had to pay to have it decorated The AC stopped working 3 times during our stay. As compensation for the inconvenience, the resort granted us a late check-out, which was appreciated - 2:45 pm (Shuttle pick up was 3:45pm) The suite itself was a positive: very spacious, condo-style rooms with a beautiful, large balcony. The room also included robes and slippers, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, some amenities fell short — the washer/dryer did not work, there were no utensils in the suite, and there were no garbage bins in living areas, only in the bathrooms. The fridge is not restocked automatically, including water. Each refill required messaging the front desk via WhatsApp. The grounds itself was well kept and pool was clean, although we found it difficult to snag a chair or cabana unless you were up at 7am to reserve it. I did appreciate that we could just leave pool towels, not having to worry about returning or trading for new ones. Food was a major letdown. If you are a foodie, this is not the resort for you. There is only one buffet, with very limited variety. I ate essentially the same meal every day — grilled chicken or fish with one or two rotating sides. There were NO dietary accommodations, and they ran out of soy milk by day four with no replacement. I am dairy and gluten free, hence the repetition of my meals. That said, Alfonso, the grill chef, was amazing — super friendly and always had my food ready when he saw me. He truly stood out and made the dining experience more enjoyable. The pool bartender, Braurio, was also friendly and provided good service. There were 2 other great waiters, but their names are escaping me. Waiters were a hit or didn't care, while others saw us and knew our drinks right off the bat. The beach situation is also misleading. This is not a traditional beach resort — it sits on a marina, with boats docked 24/7. The water was consistently murky due to boats, seaweed, and coral. While staff did try daily to clear the shoreline, it never resembled a picture-perfect beach. If you’re someone who values a beautiful beach experience, this is not the resort for you. Housekeeping was inconsistent. On the first cleaning, they left dirty dishes with food still on the counter and placed the bathroom garbage by the front door instead of removing it. Cleaning times were also very unpredictable — sometimes very early, other times extremely late. Most concerning was that during one of the cleanings, housekeeping went through my son’s belongings and ALL of his money was stolen from his wallet, which was hidden at the bottom of his backpack. Its unfortunate that we had only noticed it when we got back home. Overall, while the rooms themselves were spacious and a few staff members truly stood out, the resort fell far short in terms of service consistency, food quality, amenities, beach experience, and security. We definitely would not return nor recommend Bakour Punta Cana Suites, especially for families or anyone expecting a true beach, variety of food and honest workers.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great resort but not for everyone

Resort had great food and amenities. Beaches are very nice and a great place for most people. Disappointed with the noise at night and the party atmosphere which wasn’t for everyone, especially when you have a nice swim out near the pool and it was too loud during the day and a few nights to sit outside and enjoy due to the music.
