Riu Guanacaste: Amazing Vacation at Riu Guanacaste

This vacation was amazing... Our group ranged in age but there was something for everyone nearby. The resort staff were all friendly and helpful. There is so much to see and do...no need for lengthy drives on excursions. Diamante Park kept everyone in the family busy for an entire day for a resonable price. There were monkeys almost everywhere on and near the resort. Snorkeling was expecially exciting. Many schools of fish, Manta Rays as well as a sighting of a whale shark. Riu Guanacaste: Great resort

This was our third visit to the Riu Guanacaste. It's a slightly older resort, which we like. The grounds are beautifully kept with lots of palm trees around the courtyard and pool. It's also quiet - the stars at night are amazing. There are Howler Monkeys, White Face Monkeys, Iguanas and lots of different species of birds. The food is great and the staff are wonderful. Riu Guanacaste: Love this resort

Everything about this resort was wonderful especially the staff, went out of their way to make sure you were enjoying yourself. The grounds were always beautiful. The only thing I could complain about was the pillows, they were extra small, when I asked for extra...they were there before I went to bed. This is the one resort I would go back to again, loved everything about it!

Riu Guanacaste: Reasonable value in a beautiful setting.

Nice, well-manicured grounds and hotel with a beautiful beach and pool. However, food was mediocre and very repetitive with little variety. Entertainment options were limited. Beach activities like paddle boarding and kayaking should be advertised as 18+ as teenagers could not use the equipment alone. Rooms were clean,... but pillows were very uncomfortable. With some attention to a few critical details, this could be a great resort.

Beach Break Resort: nice resort

hotel was a little old the grounds are nice, staff was very helpful and friendly . Pools are clean breach was amazing. walking distance to town, bar staff was great service was fast. Good burger and rip restaurant across the street.

Planet Hollywood Costa Rica: Brand New Resort!

My boyfriend and I stayed at this resort recently and we absolutely loved it! The resort was clean, the main lobby always smelled fresh, staff were friendly and welcoming, the food was delicious and the service was wonderful. The only complaint I have is that our shower in our junior suite was flooding, however, it was fixed within the hour once we called it in to the front desk. I would highly recommend this resort!

Beach Break Resort: Quiet resort

This resort was nice, clean and staff were friendly. Pool could use a little more cleaning. Should add more umbrellas around pools by chairs as not everyone likes to lay out in sun. To get to dining area you past the washroom and it smells like sewage had to plug nose when passing it. Food is good, could use a little more variety, had scrambled eggs every morning, maybe hard boiled or fried eggs for a change. This was supposed to be an all inclusive, bar does not open up till 11 and if you [... read more] want alcohol earlier then you have to pay for it. Bar closes at 10 at night and there was no entertainment the whole week we were there. We were given one key to our room so we had to look for our spouses to get key to room or if our friends or family were near by we would just use their room key to open up our room as the latches on the door was visible. Anyone can get in our rooms easy. So these doors should be replaced with latches covered to prevent this from happening. Beach was nice and clean, was nice to go for walks and not have to deal with seaweeds.

Riu Guanacaste: Can’t wait to go back!!

Just got back from a week at The Riu Guanacaste. The hotel itself and grounds are extremely well kept and gorgeous. Rooms were a great size and always had hot water in the shower, my only complaint would be that the beds are quite hard. The beach is beautiful. The food is the best I’ve had, so much variety. as fare as we are concerned Willa-sol resort comes in as the best holiday we ever had many thanks to all our first time in Costa rica so the experiences we had at villa-sol opens the door for another visit to your country , only thing no need to purchase any items in the stores ; its way overpriced we can buy the same in canada for half the price.

Riu Guanacaste: Great resort

The only was I asked for 4 roomies together as I had my kids with me. We were spread out over the hotel. The grounds were beautiful. The hotel was clean. The shows were not the best. Not a lot of nightlife when the sunsets at 6 pm everyday.

Occidental Tamarindo: Amazing

I absolutely love this resort! The location is perfect just a five minute drive to town where you can shop and enjoy beautiful restaurants on the beach. The staff was great and very helpful. This resort is small and very clean. The entertainment was very enjoyable during the day and evening. The buffet restaurant had many very good food choices . Most of all I loved the beautiful beach, the sunset on the beach was amazing!! I will definitely return to this beautiful resort !

Riu Guanacaste: Wonderful Resort, will be back!!

Wow, what an Amazing country. Costa Rica is all that and more!!! the Riu was a beautiful, although older resort but the staff and agents went above and beyond to make it a wonderful, unforgettable stay. The gardens are so well kept, kuddo's to the landscaping staff. the beach was clean and even though there were several vendors inquiring daily as to purchasing their wares, they were all very friendly and knowledgeable about their beautiful country and always willing to offer advise or simply p [... read more]rovide information when asked. The Food, WOW, AMAZING, delicious and always a variety!!! Now for the scenery!!! All I can say is that it is breathtaking!!! To wake up, sit n our balcony and see the monkeys, the iguanas, the birds etc.... that's the way to do it!!!!!! Sad we had to leave but will be brining our daughter back with us next time!!!

Riu Guanacaste: All you could ask for

It is a large well appointed hotel with everything you could want. Our first time to CR but not our last. The grounds were very well kept, the staff very friendly, overall very clean, the pool is huge and well designed and the beach a little steep at high tide and a bit rocky but it is a volcanic region so that is common. It was hot and we never saw a cloud for a week, except over the hills on the distant horizon which is where the volcano is in the national park.

Beach Break Resort: Great stay

This resort was just right for us. We loved the fact that it's relatively small, and quiet, and the open air restaurant is right on the beach. It was clean and the staff is very friendly. I'd go again!

Riu Guanacaste: Amazing Resort

OMGosh this resort is amazing, very clean and all staff are friendly, I will definitely go back, being an animal lover I loved that you could walk out the back/the jungle side and see Howler monkey's in the trees as well as Iguana's on the grounds, I mean where else can you go and look up in the trees at monkey's and almost trip over and Iguana (hehe loved it), but don't worry they are not in abundance in the open and they won't hurt you, if you try to get close they will back away and hide, did [... read more]n't care for the Sanctuary, the animals look as though they were taken care of but I don't like to see animals in cages so unfortunately I wouldn't visit that again, However! loved that you could walk along the beach and there is a section they call the Monkey bar where the Capuchin monkey's are in the trees and there you can feed them, they came down to eat a banana and watermelon from my hand But be forewarned they don't like grapefruit as I tried to give them a piece, Oh sure they took it out of my hand then threw it back at me hahaha and they are so cute and so gentle when they take the fruit from your hands, the beach was great not white sands but I didn't care it was still better than being in -30 degree weather, the water was refreshingly cool and it was sunny everyday, never a cloud in the sky and if you aren't a beach person there was the beautiful pools with music and entertainment Oh my what else can I say, you won't be disappointing, the only con I had was the buffets were very bland but a ton of selection and the meals at the resort restaurants was very good and also a lot of choices, what else can I say except that I will definitely be back :-).

Planet Hollywood Costa Rica: WONDERFUL STAFF

The real star of this resort is their employees. They are very welcoming and helpful. They work hard in the heat and always smile. The water fitness classes with Jorge and Eric are fun. Not sure of the 5000 calories we are "burning", but then again you are on vacation, so don't worry about it.

Planet Hollywood Costa Rica: Vacation Like the Stars!!!!

This is an awesome resort. The staff excel in the customer service category and go out of their way to make sure you are happy and all your needs are taken care of. We had a slight issue with lack of hot water in our suite and it was taken care of within the hour. The food was amazing - lots of variety and something for everyone. The entertainment staff is incredible and try really hard to make sure everyone who wants to can participate (water polo, dance lessons, yoga, horseshoe, etc). The [... read more] nightly entertainment is very good - if you want to stay up - we were there during the Super Bowl and they put on a really nice party - big screen tv and lots of food in the buffet area. Each night was a different theme - again - lots of variety. During the day, I like that you cannot reserve beach chairs so you never have a problem finding a spot by the pool or by the beach. The grounds are always neat and clean and guests respect it by making sure garbage is put in the trash. We had an amazing and memorable time. So glad we picked this resort to vacation...like the stars...

Occidental Papagayo: resort ok, Costa Rica beautiful weather, Sky zip lining awesome

-grounds well kept -not a nice beach -not enough help in the restaurants with minimal food options (very little variety) -disappointed with room accommodations, booked in September for a late Jan visit, asked for 2 beds in the room, showed up there with a king size bed (only 10 rooms at this resort have 2 beds/room however this was never shared with our group) -ended up having to sleep on a cot for the week, not impressed should have a smoking section at the 2 pool areas (at the back away f [... read more]rom the non-smoking guests) I would not go back to this resort, I would not recommend others to go

Azura Beach Resort Samara: Needs Work

This Resort needs to address a few issues: 1- No coffee in the rooms 2- Check-In was poorly handle 3 - Information on WEB Site incorrect example: 90 minutes from airport and it is actually 2 Hour Drive 4 - All excursions were too far from the Resort and overly priced 5 - Lack of nightly entertainment 6 - No Menus at the Buffet or other Restaurant's 7 - No Hot Water in the Bathroom Other then the above issues the Staff were very Friendly and Helpful We also realized this is a new Res [... read more]ort and they have a lot of kinks to work out

Occidental Papagayo: a disappointment

The grounds were beautiful and the howler monkeys, iguanas, raccoons and skunk entertaining. But................6 single women travelling together would like the option of 2 queen beds per room vs 1 king and adding a single cot to each room just does not cut it for the price we paid for the trip. The compensation for this inconvenience was an extra a la carte meal that we had to practically beg for to get a reservation only to find the restaurant half empty when we arrived.
