Pierre Mundo Imperial: Palacio Mundo Imperial, Acapulco to Mexico

We were there Wednesday January 19 February 2,2022. We paid $1075.00 each for the first week. The second week we were in isolation, as we tested positive. Make sure you purchase COVID insurance!!! What better place to be in isolation, better than -20 and snow. The resort was laid out well. A beautiful place. Rooms were very nice. Our housekeeper wasn't very particular. There were places you could buy one, why pay for coffee at an all-inclusive resort. They should have a beverage station. The food here was amazing!! You could only go to a la Cartes at dinner, as there wasn't any buffet's.The problem was, hardly anyone spoke English and their menus were all Spanish. The pools were spectacular. An adult pool, very nice, but the other pools we're awesome. There weren't very many tourist at the time. The food near the wave pool had great a lunch menu. The waiters would take your food and drink orders and deliver them to your lounger. There is not any beach front. There was a free shuttle that ran every 1/2 hour with beach front, The Princess and the Pierre, were both really nice a little older but very classy. You could eat, drink and swim there. The only thing the Red flags were up the whole time. That certainly can't be helped. Thanks to Nicole Deforest who helped us out while we were dealing with the COVID protocol. Planet Hollywood Cancun by Royalton: Very nice resort

Restaurants Enough to choose from, available although we were in star class and the butler made reservations. Dervice was generally fine. Rooms Spacious, great beds, all amenities, cleaned daily although sometimes the cleaning was suspect. Switches and air conditioning are supposed to be ecological. At times the AC seemed to be never on and at times you couldn’t find which light switches turned things on or off. Beach Absolutely beautiful sand and water. Very little washed up seaweed on  [... read more]any given day. Service/people We purchased star class which gave us butler service. This ws invaluable when used correctly. Don’t waist their time for us etc. these people and the general resort staff were excellent. Resort condition Generally, it is in good shape, but considering it is only a year old you wonder how long it will last. Doors didn’t shut, decor needed correcting/fixing as did many parts around the resort. I guess them being a year late to open and in a pandemic, it is better to open with 500,000 a day income and fix as they go, than to wait until things are perfect. Check in was easy The wrust bands we really liked as the enterance to your room.

Playa Mazatlan: Good resort

The resort is about 40 minutes from the airport so be prepared for a long bus ride upon arrival. Nice hotel. Easy check-in. Room was large with 2 beds. Garden view but we did have a nice view of the ocean. We liked that. The hotel was not busy. Maybe 1/4 full, likely from the effect of COVID. The location of the hotel is excellent. There are many stores and restaurants nearby (5 minute walk). Playa Mazatlan is 2 blocks from FRIENDS DINER. It is a hang out for Canadians. Worth visiting.  [... read more] It is a safe place. There is a security person at a gate at the front of the resort. Security people patrol during the day and at night. Food was good. Servers are great. We had a good one. His name was Robert. We did the buffet for breakfast and lunch. We did dine at the 3 restaurants. The Brazilian was the best. Every enjoyable. The beach is very nice. Of course the nice bright sunny days helped and made walks on the beach enjoyable. There are only 3 bars. None are on the beach. So you have to order your drinks from a server. Pretty well necessary to have tip money with you. Entertainment is limited. There are no shows. Musicians did play at meal time. They were actually quite good. One downside is the Mexican bands that play on the beach. They are numerous and a bit loud. Not appreciated. We enjoyed our stay. The biggest complaint would be with SUNWING. Their site stated that the PCR test was $45 and ON SITE. Well it was NOT on site. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. We had to wait 20 minutes and then rode in an open truck to a testing place about 20 minutes away. We then stood in line to get our test. The test seemed amateur. Cost $80 US each. So $100 Canadian. We wasted hours getting this test done. Waiting is part of life in Mexico, it seems.

Planet Hollywood Cancun by Royalton: GREAT - NOT SUPER GREAT

For a one year old resort it missed the mark in several areas. The swim ups had barriers which blocked out the sun (who needs them at all!). We were side-by-side at the pools. The swim ups at Azul Sensatori Cancun are by far the best in the Mayan - you are served on your patio! Swim up cleaners could also get to all sides of the swim up at Azul easily while algae was on the inner walls at your resort. Ran out of premium Star Class Tequila frequently (except for the best servers who would [... read more] ensure it was around for my friend & I). A better system for restaurants as we always made reservations but were made to stay in line past our requested time? Why not two lines or so other form of control? Kinda beat up for a 1 year old resort! WE HAD A GREAT TIME DESPITE ANY FLAWS!!!

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Amazing resort

Had a fantastic time. Clean and friendly resort. Love that they clean the beach every day too. The staff are friendly, food was fantastic and unexpected. Clean rooms, when we had a problem with no our toilet they came and fixed it right away. Love the cat hotel and all the wildlife. Highly recommended.

El Cozumeleno Beach: El cozumeleno

Rooms smelled of mold. AC vents were very dirty and smelly. Bed was extremely uncomfortable. Service and staff were excellent. Cccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccc ccccccccccccccccc

Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres: Amazing resort!

Friendliest resort we’ve been to. Easy to get around. There were always chairs and day beds available by the pool, and we never had to wait to be seated at any of the restaurants. The view from building 1 is a little rough(undeveloped), but we could see the ocean, which more than made up for that.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Lots of Fun!

Overall a fabulous place to stay in Mexico. The beach was a little bit rocky in some parts which made it hard to walk out in the water. I got eaten alive by potentially sand flees, but that could happen anywhere. The wildlife was adorable, and so friendly. Unfortunately my friend cut himself on the bottom of the pool and needed to get stitches. Carlos was amazing dealing with the situation. I can’t wait to plan my next trip.

Allegro Playacar: We were happy and liked the resort

We had no expectations, as we read a lot of nasty reviews before going to Allegro Playacar. We were pleasantly surprised when we got there. The resort itself is perfect, clean, very green, not too big, and cozy with an amazing beach. Rooms were ok, however, AC did stop working on day 10, but we didn't do anything about it as the weather cooled off and we only had to stay 3 more nights. I have to say, that the food was not very good. Only a hand full of things to choose from. They also had no  [... read more]butter for breakfast and have not seen even once mangoes or bananas, as I was looking forward to the fruits on this trip. No Seafood. We didn't really care, as the Playa Del Carmen is only a 4 min ride from the hotel with a ton of restaurant choices. We ended up eating there every night. We wish there was no entertainment near the beach, as it was super loud and annoying, they would have been better off playing just music or nothing. If you ask me if you should book it, I would say yes. We loved everything, after all, you are there for the Beach, everything else you can get in Playa Del Carmen or at the Plazza next to the Hotel.

Catalonia Riviera Maya: Was nice to get away again!

My wife and I went to the Catalonia Riviera Maya for a greatly needed week long holiday, which we enjoyed immensely. Here are the good, and the bad points. Staff all incredibly friendly, and helpful. Such excellent service! Our maid was excellent. Animators were terrific, according to my wife, (especially Lúa, Karol and Sam). She really enjoyed taking yoga, and stretching classes, as well as water aerobics. She prefers to have Spanish music playing at poolside, but that was not played very m [... read more]uch. One day there was Spanish lessons, but my wife was very disappointed that she could not take some lessons daily. Unfortunately, the ocean was rough most of the week. Kayaking was not possible and shore snorkeling was only possible a couple of days. It was not as good as we remembered from 2 years before as a hurricane had damaged the coral. Food at the Brisas buffet was good, but as usual at all-inclusives, repetitive. Not very hot. Happily, they had bacon daily. Delicious cappuccino! The main buffet restaurant Mercado was unfortunately closed the whole week. Usually we had lunch at the poolside grill. Again, good and tasty, but usually not hot. We did have 5 a la carte restaurant meals from 4 of the 5 choices. These were all excellent. We could not get a reservation for the Japanese restaurant unless we wanted to eat dinner at 10 pm. So, in conclusion, we had a great week and look forward to when we can come back! The staff we always masked and cleaning was ongoing through the day. PCR and Antigen tests available on site and results were less that 24 hours. Not all guests were masked but that is not the fault of the resort or the staff.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Awesome restort

The Ocean Riviera Paradise was an awesome resort. Service and restaurant choices were great. Entertainment was lacking but they tried hard but needed more seating in the outdoor court yard while the Entertainment was going on. Covid testing was fine at the resort but the Transat rep wanted us to do it off site through them which was more expensive we went with the resort and had our results back within 10 hours. Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Third Visit to this Resort

This is the third time we have visited this resort, the rooms, the service, the food was as always was VERY GOOD! The Covid protocol was excellent, all hotel staff were double masked with a face mask and a plastic face shield and were all very cognizant of being fully protected. The rooms were constantly being cleaned and looked after by the resort staff. Some of the directions from the travel agency were not required, so that is something that trip central should review. Unfortunately, my w [... read more]ife tested positive on the three day testing and we had to delay our flight and extend our room for an additional ten days. THE RESORT PUT US IN QUARANTINE FOR THAT 10 DAY PERIOD AT NO CHARGE TO US, and we were allowed to use room service for that entire period. We could not thank them enough for allowing us to stay!

The Sens Riviera: Nice Resort

Staff: All very nice and accommodating Grounds: BEAUTIFUL! Well, kept and clean Food: was just ok but there was always something tasty to eat Drinks: Delicious! Room: nice room, big enough for 2 adults and 1 child (Sun Club Pool View) Beach: Absolutely amazing...nice sand for playing, great ocean to swim in. Lots of sea life to see

Excellence Riviera Cancun: Amazing resort

It was our first time at this resort. We had previously been to another excellence resort and decided to try this location. We were not disappointed. It had the same service and format. From the moment we arrived we were taken care of and pampered by the wonderful staff. We stayed in the excellence club section in a swim up room. It's well worth it. The room was very comfortable and clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The resort has their own app and you can see the restaur [... read more]ants and menus before you go to eat as well as other services offered at the resort. The beach was very clean. There was lots of chairs and cabanas to lie on. The drinks were great as well as the food. The night time shows were very entertaining. Overall the Excellence is a resort you can trust to be safe and entertained, a place to relax and enjoy your vacation.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Slightly disappointed

For the most part the resort is kept clean and tidy. The room was spacious with everything needed for the week. We did have issues with maintenance, the bathroom sink was plugged all week and we asked multiple times to have it looked at. The door lock was not working, and we ended up having to stay in the room until fixed. We did have money taken from the room, although it was a small amount. Then there were 3 days with no cleaners at all. We found the staff in the a la carts to be rude (surprising to us as everyone else was fantastic) The food in the a la carts was cold and not great. We preferred the buffet. Although the food in the buffet was not incredible, we never went hungry, there was a lot to chose from. The pool and beach were lovely. For those who like to go off resort and see what the town has to offer, note the distance and cost to take a Taxi is a bit expensive.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Travel to Bahia Principe after lockdowns

Over all we are impressed with the Bahia Principe family of resorts. We travelled through out all 4 resorts in the Mayan riviera- and were impressed by the safety measures in affect. Our room was sanitized before we arrived, gloves were provided upon arrivals to all restaurants and buffets, and hand sanitizer stations all over the hotels. Masks were worn by all staff- and the policy was enforced when in all common areas. We only have 4 stars for rooms as the rooms at Tulum are updated and Akumal [... read more] is still waiting for an update, pools and beaches are ok- but you can travel to the other resorts to partake. Overall- an amazing trip as always at the Bahia!

Beloved Playa Mujeres by Excellence: Luxury!

A smaller boutique resort, Beloved Playa Mujeres offered us a quiet escape to a beautiful beach, gourmet meals, luxury accommodation and excellent service. Thanks to our Trip Central representative Sue Snider, our covid concerns were met with distanced outdoor dining, no crowds (barely noticed anybody else in the resort!) and staff who were always masked and following proper covid precautions. We took advantage of a beach front casita with a rooftop pool just to be safe, but the main pool areas [... read more] and beach were very well spaced and no groupings were evident. Beloved Playa Mujeres offered a quiet, pampered retreat for couples to relax at, be pampered and recharge in total luxury. Thanks Sue!

TRS Coral: very nice resort

Great beach (very long and wide with no venders) , fabulous rooms, amazing food including beach/pool snacks, incredible large well equipped gym, unbelievable spa and very good service. That said, it didn't have much of a Mexican cultural feel but more of a Las Vegas style feel.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Our Wishes came true--Again!!

We are repeat visitors to this resort, and it did not disappoint. The staff were friendly, the grounds were gorgeous (beach and pool both beautiful!), rooms were clean, quiet (stayed in building 16), and comfortable. Internet connection worked very well. The food was wonderful! Loved the buffet restaurant, and had a meat feast at the Brazilian restaurant, El Rodizio, and a pleasant experience at the Mediterranean. We love to walk, and enjoyed the tennis courts for a game we play (no charge,  [... read more]but need to reserve). Covid precautions were excellent, and on-site testing was available (for a fee). We plan to return again next year!

Riu Palace Las Americas: Beautiful resort

The hotel, food and staff were all wonderful. Only thing I would improve on is to add a couple of bathrooms by the pools and the ocean. One set of bathrooms in the resort is not enough. I'm sure people were using the pools or the ocean instead. Everyone observed the wearing of the masks in the resort so we felt safe and did not fear catching the COVID.
