Catalonia Royal Tulum: Wonderful Resort

This resort was kept very clean, the staff were energized, friendly, courteous, eager to help and very happy! The grounds were extremely well kept and there were staff members everyday working on cleaning up the gardens. It was so nice that Covid protocols were in place and staff adhered to them and also enforced them. The show and dinner theatre was extremely well done and was like a mini Cirque de Sole!!….very impressed!! The shows put on by the staff were very high energy and well done! So much work goes into each show and we appreciated al that work!!

Dreams Huatulco: Amazing Resort

We spent the last week of January there with another couple and we also celebrated my husbands 60th birthday. It was perfect. The resort is quiet due to Covid but it was nice to enjoy the place with less people. The layout of the property was excellent, you can see the beach/ocean from just about every where. Even if you have a pool day, it still feels like you’re at the beach. The staff are excellent, too many wonderful people to name but they all go the extra mile to make sure you are well taken care of. The restaurants opened on a rotating basis due to the lower occupancy but we were still able to eat at all of them and our favourite ones twice. We even had a private dinner on the beach, arranged by one of the restaurants, it was cool. The food is excellent everywhere and I’ve never eaten so much in my life. The place is meticulously clean and all the staff wear masks/shields. I felt safer there from Covid than I do at home. Canada requires a Covid PCR test in order for us to return home and Luis the concierge simply arranged it for us right in our room at the total cost of 5000 Pesos and our test results were emailed to us the next evening. Entertainment is quieter due to Covid but there was a live band every night and there was one dancing show. The excursions were fun, we went on the ATV / River trip and chartered a boat for the 4 of us to go snorkeling , all very reasonably priced. I can’t find anything negative to say about Dreams and would Love to visit again. You can take a taxi into town for 60 pesos and there’s lots of shopping available. I felt very safe here. I’ve been to many tropical resorts in many countries and would rate this one as one of my favourites. We LOVED this resort. My one suggestion would be to have a cocktail list as there are so many wonderful drinks to try but I never knew what they were all called.

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Beautiful resort

We enjoyed our week (Jan 24-31) at this beautiful resort. Staff was so friendly & really went out of their way to look after everyone. The resort had hand sanitizer everywhere & the staff wore their masks consistently. Chairs around the pool & tables in the restaurants were well spaced. The food was amazing. Loved all the ala carte restaurants & the buffet was outstanding. The 3 pools & kids area were very well maintained & beautiful. Lots of palapas on the beach & umbrellas around the pool. We were first put in the 4 block of rooms, but the smell was terrible, so we were moved the next morning to the 3 block & the room was great. Large room & balcony. Very nice large bathroom with great amenities. All in all we would highly recommend this resort. Lots of walking & stairs so for people with mobility issues it might not be ideal. Covid testing was done in our room & we had the results the next day. Very convenient. Don't hesitate to go to this resort.....it's well worth a visit!

Beloved Playa Mujeres by Excellence: Incredible Resort

The Beloved hotel is part of the Excellence chain of hotels. It’s a boutique hotel with approximately 109 rooms. From the minute we arrived at the hotel to our departure, we couldn’t have asked for more from the staff of this resort. The safety precautions and protocols in place were to our satisfaction, Staff wear masks at all times and Purell is available everywhere especially as you enter any of their restaurants and common areas. This is our third vacation to the Beloved hotel and we did not see any difference. A Covid test is available at the hotel for a fee of $90.00 US. It was done efficiently and only took 10 minutes at most to complete the procedure. Until Covid 19 ceases to be a treat to our health, we will continue to go to Beloved and forego the larger resorts,

Tropicana Hotel: close to everything

yes the resort needs some up upgrades. our room was clean and everything worked. Staff was great. pool was great. beach was great. short comings are WFi only in lobby, and the restaurant is bad..really bad. but everything else good. It is not fancy but works great for us. Also a mini fridge would be great.

Riu Santa Fe: Six time around

Once again the resort met my expectations and more; especially during this worldwide pandemic. Hotel staff, grounds, restaurant all met protocols and made me feel very comfortable being on the resort. This was my first time going to the resort as a single female travelling alone and had a great, safe fantastic trip.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Enjoyed this Resort

Our overall stay was lovely, appreciated all the staff, everyone was happy, friendly and very helpful, protocol in keeping everyone safe during this pandemic was very appreciated- made us feel safe and comfortable. Definitely recommend Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Limited food choices, great place!

Vacationed for 7 days and only allowed 4 restaurants to dine in while the rest of the days are the buffet. The beach and the pool is top notch but limited in food. The room floors could use some scrubbing, its similar to Cuba but this is mexico, it could be better. If your a sushi person, look else where as they have no to limited sushi. You have access to sushi on your dinner but sushi is limited to 8 pieces. The steak is sometimes chewy or dry. But this is the spot if you want the beach and pool.

Las Palmas by the Sea: Hidden Gem

This is an absolutely amazing place to go! It is a smaller, older hotel with tons of charm. I can't express how wonderful the staff are and how hard each and everyone of them aim to please their guests. I have been going for the last six years and am never disappointed and will go again next year. The hotel is always clean and the maid staff always do a great job cleaning the rooms. Grand Oasis Cancun: Nice Beach

If you are going for beach, sun, some drink, some food etc. it’s perfectly fine. You often read the odd review and it’s so dependent upon the a hole that is writing the review. If you want luxury and the best of everything this place is not for you. You wanna get away for 4 or 5 days it’s good enough. Any all inclusive much longer is redundant as far as I’m concerned.

Hotel Design: 9 out of 10 Food: 1 out of 10 Rooms: 5 out of 10 Staff: 7 out of 10 Pool: 9 out of 10 Beach: 9 out of 10 In summary - it's a nice resort however food is not good. You shouldn't pay more then 1250 per person

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Palladium Colonial Cancun

Beach area was awesome....main pool was really nice...rooms were just fine (ask for second or third floor for more privacy)..gym was really well equipped...food and selection was really good...service was just fine ..will be going back again which is the best review. One area of improvement is the transportation from the airport was a milk run with multiple stops..so a 1 hour transit became a 2 plus hour transit. Recommend this be a non stop trip.

Secrets Huatulco: Better than the First

First time coming travelling since COVID. Safety protocols were followed well, staff following was excellent. It wasn't to capacity which was great for not fighting for a place to sit, previous visit 2 years ago 7am was too late to find a chair even though 10am to noon is usually when someone shows up. Hotel itself is nice, rooms are great ( no bathtub tho and not many room have a view of the ocean) i found the food quality in some restaurants lacking esp the mexican and seafood restaurants the indian one was great and buffet breakfast was also decent with lots of food options. Found service to also be lacking. Very easy to book covid tests. Clinic right on the resort just go your fist day to make an appointment which can easily be changed if needed. No line ups $90 US per test - hotel is nort [... read more]h of hotel zone so it takes 45min longer each way when going on tours. the hotel seems to be trying to compare to the Hard Rock and has the potential but they need to step up service and food quality - also if you are on the family side even if you are an adult you cant use adult pool or if you want to go to their restaurant ( brazilian and seafood ) you have to pay $20 each . This is just stingy. Every other resort i e been to kets you freely use the amenities and restaurants of both and even go to their sister resorts. The lazy river is great. They even have a bar in a cave so you dont have to get out of your tube to get a drink It was still a nice resort overall and had a nice time

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Don't expect to much... Beware!

The overall experience is great, but not the best. If your looking for a nice beach and venue. This is it. If your a big food person, this place is not for you. If you miss your breakfast at 10am, you won't see another food closer to 1pm which is hard when you overslept with kids. I love food but they will limit with what you can eat. I'm vacationing for 7 days and only allowed 4 places to dine in and the rest are buffets. Buffet are a *MeH* and repetitive. Nothing to exciting or new. I would definitely recommend another place if your into food. They don't tell you that the food is limited until you are there. Catalonia Royal Tulum: Very nice resort but a little dated

Overall, great experience. The food was average and the resort was dated. The covid protocols were great. We really enjoyed the beach and the services (most times). The food selection needs improvement and some servers/bartenders are better than others. No one made the same Mojito.

Riu Emerald Bay: Disappointed in the Jacuzzi Tub.

We have been here twice before. This time we got the suite with the jacuzzi. There is a jacuzzi tub in the room and one in the balcony. My husband ran the water for the outdoor one. Brown crud was coming out of the jets. He tan the water a while and it seemed cleared. Do he filled the tub. Once the jets were on there were more brown stuff coming out of the jets. Needless to say we were not able to use a feature that we had paid an extra 600.00 for. Very disappointing. All staff wore masks and [... read more] the food was great as usual.

ocean view rm had an amazing view of the ocean! great food, nightly entertainment and day activities staff contribute to making this resort one ill definitely be back too! great location for a quick trip to the harbor for souvenirs

Secrets Playa Mujeres: Beautiful Resort - amazing staff!!

Beautiful resort. Extremely well maintained and the landscaping is lush and gorgeous. The staff everywhere were so amazing- friendly and helpful and couldn’t be more accommodating and all of them made our trip even better. Shout out to Lydia and Nataly at Oceans, Mario at El Patio , Susie at the pool and Martha our Concierge. All the ladies in the coffee shop were top-shelf. Restaurants were excellent- lots of choices and the quality was very good and delicious. We went to all except Bordeaux as the menu choices didn’t appeal to us however others said they loved it. We also went to the Brazilian next door at Dreams which we thought was just ok, and the Mediterranean at Dreams which was excellent. Mexican Night food was amazing and the entertainment spectacular- we were able to go twice as we were there ten days and we were so happy we did. The cocktails in general were good and generous but extremely sweet. They don’t use real fruit juice which would have made the drinks amazing We were Preferred Club which was worth the money for us - we did Preferred club breakfast at Oceania half of our mornings which was also excellent with the most beautiful view. And checkin and checkout was fast and effortless. Our room was sparkling clean every day and turn-down service was excellent. Plenty of towels and toiletries daily. The beach is pristine with the soft white sand and gorgeous water entry. Several of the restaurants and the gym and lobby are located in a different area of the resort but they have several golf carts running back and forth constantly so waits are minimal - but it’s a 5 minute walk which is a perfect opportunity to stretch your legs between meals and cocktails. We found the hot tubs in the pool area sometimes got very busy / crowded and loud which took away from our peaceful times - however there are others locations away from them , including the beach. We would go again and would recommend it to our friends and family.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Best resort so far

Can't say enough about everything about this resort, from the awesome welcome when we arrived, the courtsy from the staff to the great service. Grounds were very well keep up no garbage anywhere on the ground. Very clean. The staff went above and beyond for all our needs. The food was second to none and the availability was great. The entertainment was also perfect. So much to see and explore. Very quiet resort yet so much happening.
