Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun: Service Service Service
These people could not do enough for you. We have had many hotels offer concierge service this is the first time we actually got it. Rooms and beach were beautiful. Room service was also well above the norm. Wine lists were super pricey. Italian restaurant was outstanding. Asian and buffet also good. Others were marginal. All in all a beautiful property with a lovely helpful staff.
Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Beautiful Resirt
I really enjoyed my stay at this resort. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I very much enjoyed the nightly entertainment. There was always something to do everyday lots of entertainment during the day. I think I would recommend it to friends and go there myself again.
Catalonia Playa Maroma: Good resort
Beach, grounds, service were excellent. Room could be updated, ex. The bathrooms. Need more life in the main lobby, a piano bar or something to attract people to mix and mingle. Shop prices were too high.
Royal Hideaway Playacar: Good Low Key Hideaway
If you’re looking for noise, activity and action, this is NOT the resort for you. We wanted a quiet, laid back and classier retreat for a few days, and this was a good choice. Strong points are the food, beach and rooms. Weak points are inconsistent service, limited food and alcohol choices and price. Overall, this is well worth a try, but it needs some improvement to really justify its five star rating.
Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: Great resort
The grounds were beautiful, well maintained and stunning. The staff went above and beyond to ensure the guests were happy. Food was excellent, at the buffet and alecarte. Definitely would recommend this resort.
Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great Value Family Resort!
This resort is massive! We appreciated the variety of food and activities, but there are literally people everywhere so if you're looking for a more remote experience this resort isn't for you. The kids activities and mini waterpark were a bonus for us. Buffet selection was amazing, almost too many options! A la carte resturant availability was limited, this we were disappointed by because we were travelling with extended family and would have liked to do a few nice dinners. We spent most of our [... read more]
Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Family oriented vacation
A good variety of food at the buffet but need to book the gourmet restaurants when you arrive at the hotel. You don’t always get availability to dine at the specialty restaurants which can be disappointing. Daily events for children and adults to enjoy and lots of space to accommodate everyone at the multiple pools at the resort or the beach. We did find the beaches had more seaweed and rocks than we expected so we stayed mostly at the pools because we had young children with us.
Barcelo Maya Grand Resort: True 5 star
This was our 5th trip to this resort and it didn't let us down. It is a gorgeous resort with amazing attention to detail. No concerns and as usual we had a great time. Of all the resorts we have been at in the mayan' this one is our favourite.
El Dorado Seaside Palms: The staff makes the difference
The staff are totally dedicated to helping guests, especially the personal concierges. Sheila (our concierge) was the best help one could ask for. The grounds are very well kept, thanks to the workers. There are better beaches out there but the food and staff make up for that.
Royal Hideaway Playacar: Royal Hideaway
Hotel was great. Unfortunately, although we requested a specific room a year ago, and on several other occasions, we did not receive it. Overall, everything was great, except a glitch in the booking of a private transfer.
Ocean Riviera Paradise: Amazing Resort
A newer resort. Clean, well maintained no resverations for a la carte only for Japanese . Adult building & pool if so desire as well as family suites. Nov 20/18â€:..................................................
Catalonia Playa Maroma: Great beaches
Every thing was excellent with the exception of the bathrooms. Bedroom cupboards should be up dated as well as the main entrance area Grounds were great, food was excellent. Lobie activities was dead, need a piano bar or some form of entertainment. Regards, Christine
Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Beautiful Place
We had the Emerald Suite and it was absolutely beautiful. We had an ocean front room which was quite private. The staff at the hotel were always pleasant and they always treated you as a priority. One of the things that I didn't like was that I was with nine other people (so 10 of us in total) and most of the restaurants wouldn't sit us together. The max they would sit together was 8. We always had to split up into a group of 6 and a group of 4. I was paying a lot of money to be there, as wa [... read more]
Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Resort is 2 blocks from 5th Avenue in Playa del Carmen.
We were in an ocean front junior suite. It was roomy and we did not hear any noise from the hallway or our neighbours. Everyday the maid made us a new towel sculpture on our king size bed. Staff are key as they will help you regardless of their role. Even the security guard will help adjust the sun umbrella if he is near-by. Every staff member was friendly and eager to serve us. The only drawback is the beach has taken a beating from previous hurricanes. It is small and does not have the same a [... read more]
Barcelo Maya Colonial: Good value, great resort
This is still a great resort with lots of activities, especially for families with children. There are a lot of pool and ocean choices for loungers and several water parks for kids. Snorkelling here is still one of the best spots we have found in the Mayan Riviera with lots of fish, turtles and the occasional stingray. The staff are wonderful and bend over backwards for you, they work for very little pay so perhaps think about tipping them. A dollar means a lot more to them than us. The food [... read more]
Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Amazing Resort
This is our 9th time at this resort. It has lovely grounds, great food and very friendly staff. We highly recommend this hotel to people with disabilities as the grounds are flat and very accessible both at the pool and beach.
Grand Palladium Select White Sand: Wonderful Resort
What can I say about this great resort. Nothing but good things. We have been to this resort at least 12 times. We have stayed in all parts of the resort and enjoyed all areas. The resort is huge so put on your walking shoes. Lots of wild life around and wooden trails through the jungle. Pools clean and lots of them to seat by. There are the really quiet ones and then the ones with all the partying. Bars a plenty. Bartenders excellent. Buffets and alcarts great. The food never disappoints.
El Dorado Casitas Royale: Wonderful
Was awesome but needs to be more handicapped accessible. Food and staff were amazing. Very romantic and you receive the whole pampered treatment which was great. Variety of places to eat and drink was a refreshing option.
Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great resort but avoid the time share concierge team!!!
This resort was very nice and the staff were wonderful. Friendly and very accommodating. We had booked into a Daisy suite but were fortunate to be moved to the El Beso section with a swim out suite as requested as we were there without children and had asked for a quiet area. The low numbers in the 1100 block are perfect for this and are very convenient for the main buffet and most of the restaurants and shops. Things we enjoyed were the foam parties (Currently its Tuesdays in the El Beso pool f [... read more]
Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: Great resport for families
Something here for everyone. Good hotel entertainment staff, very engaging with lots of activities and enough to also keep the kids busy. If you would like to have an experience away from the kids, then book a preferred room and you will have access to the adults only pool as well as other great benefits. Food and service was good. Beach is OK, not as clear water as in the pictures but that could have just been the time of year.
