Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: An excellent value! Service phenomenal!

Rooms very clean, food great choices, grounds and pool excellent, beach great! Staff unbelievably friendly and helpful, hard working and proud of the care they give! Weather was super. I will go back for sure.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Nice resort

The grounds were beautiful and food was great. The restaurants were excellent. The service was very good.The downsides were swimming/snorkeling area was very small. Outside the barriers it was too rough and rocky to swim.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Amazing tedort

Staff were helpful, polite, and always smiling. Resort was spotlessly clean. Rooms a little small but lovely new bathrooms and very clean and comfortable. Food was amazing, infact since there were four of with different food likes and dislikes we only went to one elacart ( which was great) as the buffet was great for all of us. Lots of little places to sit both inside and outside to have a drink in the evening. All in all we hope to return there again.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Beautiful Resort

We loved our time at the Bahia Pricipe Ambar....!! The resort grounds are tropical, lush and beautifully landscaped, the beach is immaculate and goes for miles, and the food abundant. Although getting a reservation for the a la carte restaurants for dinners were difficult and I would recommend the a la carte over the buffets for dinners. The buffets were large and had good variety, but the meats were always overcooked. Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great looks, terrific food, but not much else

This resort is well kept and maintained. However there is no beach to speak of and the little access there is is a real turn off due to some intense sewer gas smell coming from the sea. Entertainment at night not great at all.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: very peaceful

Beautiful and very clean resort. The staff were very friendly. Beautiful beach that you could walk on for miles. The a la carte restaurant was very good and the buffet had decent food. The pools were small but i prefer the beach anyway. The only thing about the beach is that the chairs are all pack together so you had to be on the beach very early to get a good spot.

Very pleased with the beauty of this well kept resort. Th staff were very friendly, particularly the animation team and bar tending staff. The beach was amazing and not too crowed to enjoy. All amenities were in close proximity and easy to access. There were many lovely seating areas inside and out, and in the sun or shade. It helped to make the resort feel uncrowned. The atmosphere was one of relaxation and calm.....great place for a getaway in a beautiful lush setting. My only complaint was regarding the restaurant staff. We often had to wait to get beverages with meals...sometimes seeming to be forgotten in the rush. I am not sure if this was due to the staff alone or a shortage of staff for this job. I have been to other Bahia resorts and there seemed to be more staff to attend to your needs during meal time. The pool is small so be warned if you don't like the beach. Although I would encourage the guests to snorkel right off the beach around the coral which hosts a vast number of beautiful fish. You don't even have to leave the resort for a snorkelling excursion!

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Fantastic resort

Rooms and grounds were very clean and well kept. I feel some staff could have been a little more friendly but all in all they were pleasant.food was great, a large variety. When I booked this resort I thought that the bavaro was an individual resort. Didn't realize that it had many sister resorts attached which makes this a very large resort.i was hoping for something a little smaller.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Luxury Bahia Príncipe runaway bay

Beautiful and clean. Grounds were well kept. Very friendly staff. Our butler was amazing. There was a sewage smell issue in the room. View was amazing. Beach area was below standard. Not much of a walking area on the beach and the adults only side is very close the the 4 lane highway. All and all, relaxed the whole week. Buffett was excellent

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Luxury Grande Bahia Prinicpe Ambar

Beautiful resort, but huge. This was our second time to this property, although last year we stayed at the Esmeralda. Buffet food was excellent, a la carte restaurants were a bit of a joke - poor service or poor quantity of food. Long trek to the beach, although we prefer the pool and therefore asked for a building close to the pool - bldg 80 - Great. Would highly recommend this 5 star resort.

Ground , Services,very clean, but buffet food taste the same.This is are secound time there and the food is not good like the first time.Beach is nice but you have to be up at 6:00 am if you want a nice place at the beach.

Standard rooms are typical, suits are very nice( upgrade worth the extra) Overall the hotel and grounds are kept very clean( always staff cleaning) Food good variety and tasty at buffet. Brazil restaurant is a must...excellent

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Stinks!

Overall this resort is beautiful. Our room looked great and had an amazing view, grounds were beautiful, food was fantastic, and staff were overall pretty friendly. We stayed in Building 25 on the 7th floor (25708) which had a panoramic ocean view. The only problem was that the room started to smell like sewage on day 2 of our trip. We immediately reported it and maintenance people came to look. They could not change us to a different room at first because the hotel was "booked". This odour was  [... read more]not present at all times...it was there in the morning for a few hours, later in the afternoon for a few hours, and sometimes the smell woke us up in the middle of the night. By the following day (after reporting the odour again), one manager brought us to look at another room on the 5th floor that we could move to. Unfortunately, that one had the same smell. Another manager gave us a Febreeze scented oil thing to put in our vent (which did not help). We spoke to several people who were in the same building (some were on different floors) who had the same complaint (some of which did not report it). There were no other options available to us. The only solution was to cover up the smell by burning scented oils. They had plenty of oils and tea lights and we made the best out of a bad situation and tried to cover up the smell. This meant having to wake in the middle of the night to change the oil and light another candle so not really the most restful of vacations. We did not hear of any of the other buildings on the "Luxury" side having this issue. Another issue was that we organized room service to deliver coffee and fruit each morning but it was only delivered 2 out of 7 days. As coffee and a coffee maker are provided in the room, this was not a deal-breaker for us. If you could avoid building 25, I would recommend this resort.

Overall our stay was great. A bit of background: My only other comparison is 3 trips to cuba, my fiancé and I stayed April 4-11; ages 26/27. We are not picky eaters nor would I consider us high maintenance. I travel a lot in the US for work so I have my fair share of hotel stays under my belt. The food was great; always something to eat. My finace has broken his back twice and I have rheumatoid arthritis and when we got home we were both in agony. The bathroom door wouldn't close and the AC didn't work.. and when I went to call downstairs... the phone didn't work either. I have never complained and had my room switched but I figured 3rd times a charm and get a new room. We moved the next day .. had to move our own stuff which I was surprised but no big deal. The pool is beautiful, beach is beautiful. I got eaten alive on the Safari tour.. by the way.. unless you like going to places to have locals sell stuff... don't waste the $75 USD. The bars in the main hotel close at 11 so unless you are going to walk out to the disco (located in the entrance of the resort) you're having an early night. The drive is also 1.5 hours from the hotel but that's not a fault of the hotel Overall I enjoyed my vacation (I paid under $900).

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Fantastic resort!

Just came back from a wonderful one week stay with my husband and two kids (7,9). This is our second time at this resort and it was just as good, if not better, then our first visit. The food is unbelievable! So many options both at the buffets and the ala cart restaurants. We made reservations for the restaurants via email before we arrived and I highly recommend this! This resort if gorgeous, the food is amazing, the pools and grounds are clean and beautiful. Pick this resort! You won't be disappointed!

The food is great food at the buffet but there are limited choices at the beach buffet. Nice and clean room. The air conditioning was a little beat noisy but we get used. The pool is amassing! The service is excellent.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Excellent beach!

We visited between Apr 2-9/16 as a pair of 40+ couples, with a toddler. The drive from the airport is only 20-30 minutes. The check-in and out were smooth. The resort is surprisingly small and you get to know the staff 'cause you see them again and again at different restaurants/bars. We only ever took a trolley to the kid's water park - everything else was an easy walk. The beach was awesome: white powdery sand for hundreds of feet inland, with ample shade and chairs at all hours of the day!  [... read more]There was only a hint of seaweed in some places and the resort was quick to address those when they happened. The ocean was clear and warm, often with medium sized waves. There's very little by way of wildlife off the beach, so there's no point snorkeling there. The pools didn't have shade over the water anywhere (wear a rash guard and hat if you intend to spend a lot of time there) but had some shade for chairs -- you had to be up very early to get any of those. All pools were loud and filled with activities. The food was typical DR all-inclusive quality: not great but quite livable. We only went to one a la carte (the Brazilian on the same resort) and enjoyed it very much, mostly because of the animated wait staff -- one guy had an excellent Turkey impression. The buffets had a different theme every night (Tuesday is gala night), which was great. My wife asked for straight vodka from the beach bar and it was definitely watered down but there was never any problem just asking for more of it. My tequila shots from the pool bar weren't watered, nor was the good rum or scotch from the lobby bar. Servers wandered the beach, taking orders or just dropping off some extra drinks they had on their trays.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Gorgeous Resort!

This resort was perfectly maintained, clean, well laid out and had amazing staff! Everything in our room worked perfectly and the cleaning staff did an awesome job each and every day! The staff all over the resort were friendly, helpful and cheery. Made our stay that much more enjoyable. Do be careful of purchasing things from people/vendors on the beach. The beach is owned by the state, therefore these people do not need permission or insurance to sell.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Fantastic Resort!

Keeping this short: Grounds: Extremely well kept ... especially for such a large footprint. Rooms: Adequate size ... not huge, but more than adequate. Staff: Great staff, always happy, smiling and willing to assist. (A bit slow to remove wares and get drinks during dinner, but nothing to really be upset about) Beach: Shallow, Very calm (due to breakwaters), Lots of fish to see/feed. Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: great resort

This resort is HUGE, The people are great and the place is very clean. There is lots large selection for food at the buffet and I can honestly say it was all great! We had no complaint at this resort and I go on a vacation like this every year.
