Memories Paraiso: Great resort!

Stayed at this resort with two adult children and had a great time! This is a very family oriented resort with lots to do for younger children. The staff are very very accommodating and always very friendly. The staff made my daughter's twenty-fourth birthday something to remember!!The grounds are spectacular and very well kept. Melia Buenavista: AMAZING property, beaches, rooms and staff.

This place just wows you the moment you walk into the lobby. Truly secluded with 3 very different beaches, some truly in their natural state with wildlife and vegetation. If you want crowds, this is not the place for you. The rooms are the best we've seen in Cuba and truly superb. The staff welcome you and attend to your needs, especially the servers, gardeners, and butlers. Great traditionally made drinks and bar locations. Just loved the fresh coconuts on the beach! The gym was very nice an [... read more]d stocked even though small and you have a wonderful Zen-like area just outside. Unfortunately, there was not enough variety with the food. It was fresh and delicious, but it lacked the variety from day to day as well as traditional recipes, be they Cuban or Italian. This is a small resort and it seemed to be difficult to keep 3 restaurants open at all times with a variety of food. This area needs improvement. The entertainment was very, very good. Small groups and bands that were very professional. Could use a few extra bands ; )

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: First time in Cuba and we'll be back!

Just returned from our first trip to Cuba. To frame my review a little: this was our second all inclusive (first being Mexico, at a 5 star). And as mentioned in the title first time to Cuba. We are not very fussy people. I read a ton of reviews for various hotels and lots on this one, so I knew what to expect. FOOD: The good: We went into this trip with pretty low expectations of what the food would taste like and were pleasantly surprised. Yes, there are line ups - but totally worth it and sometimes you just have to pick the right times and there is hardly a wait! Go see Frank in the buffet and he'll make you a delicious omelet. Fried rice/stir fry at dinner was delicious too. A few days in we got a little tired of the same old.. but this would happen anywhere and was the same on our last resort. You get tired of buffet food after awhile. The beach snack bar makes good pizza! You might have to wait during peak times but it's worth it.. beware of adorable resort cats who may want a taste of your pizza too! (Didn't bother me at all, I am a cat person and there were lots here). The not so good: The beef. I stayed away from it, but my boyfriend said it was quite chewy and tough. He got sick both times he ate it, thinking the second time might be different but it wasn't. ROOM: The good: We upgraded to ocean view when we arrived and it was totally worth it. Building 11 was very central and had a great view of the ocean, yet still close to the pool as well. Beds were comfortable, room was clean. Always had hot water and great water pressure. The not so good: Ants. This is a common problem at this hotel I think, we had a few randoms around the room but having them in the bathroom did bother me. After a few days of the room not being sprayed as requested - we sprayed some of our bug spray and that seemed to get rid of them after a couple of times. Wasn't a fan, but again it wasn't the end of the world and we dealt with it. Another note - something that others have mentioned and others might care more than we did - some of the sheets and towels had stains. It was obvious they were clean and that's all that mattered to us but I know this may be off putting for some. POOL/BEACH: The good: The pool was always immaculate and the pool bar service was great, always friendly and would remember your drink orders. The beach was stunning, that is a given for this location I think! We were disappointed we had a lot of "Red flag" days (too windy) but that is no ones fault, and we still enjoyed it anyway. The not so good: The towel game... after 3 days we realized if we wanted shade it was up at 6am to save ourselves a spot then back to bed again. I hate this and I hated taking part in it but not much choice if you wanted shade! SERVICE: No negatives here. The people are 100% what will bring us back to Cuba and this resort. What wonderful, warm, sweet people we came across. If nothing else sells you on Cuba this will. We tipped a lot and I'm not sure it was that it was expected for service or that we just wanted to because everyone was so great. It's so nice to walk by and have people recognize you, smile, wave, and always be so pleasant. Very few people were not like this... Cubans really stole our hearts! Other things worth mentioning: The Spa -- very relaxing atmosphere however both the pool and the jacuzzi needed a desperate cleaning when we went, lots of floating stuff and I was a little grossed out when while I was in the pool saw a bunch of dead floating ants around me! Ew! We got out quick. Don't know if that was just a bad moment, but I would recommend management look into it as none of the other pools were ever anything but pristine. Overall I think this is a good resort and would go back if we got another good deal.

Sol Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing Service, Infastructure in need of repairs

I had a great say at the SOL Cayo Santa Maria. The hotel was old (oldest in the cayo) and in need of repairs for the service was five star the whole way. I asked for a wheelchair accessible room. It was in good repair everything was functional. A handle fell of the dresser but when reported to management it was promptly repaired. The service was awesome. I was traveling with my daughter (9 months) and everyone was so helpful. Both in the mini club Jeny was great but also at the restaurants. The  [... read more]chefs (Marbelio in particular) were so accomodating with helping find food she could eat. The serving staff was there to make sure we had all we needed and at quiet times, they would even hold and talk to the baby so I could eat. I will definitely be returning!!!

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Couldn't have asked for more!

My husband and I travelled to this resort on the same beach as we stay at every year, not really wanting to wane from our old faithful resort. Sooo glad we did. We love the other resort we've always stayed at, but this resort exceeded it, as well as our expectations! From the food, to the anemities, to the amazing staff, you simply can not go wrong at this resort. Countless times at the gardens or at the pools I would stop and say "wow, this is breathtaking!" Memories Paraiso: memories pariaso resort

What a fantastic resort. Very clean, food and service was outstanding. The beaches are always the best. Drinks available at every turn. What a beautiful place. Highly recommend this to all my friends.

Memories Paraiso: Awesome Resort!!

The rooms were clean and spaciouse. Staff was very friendly, and always willing to help you. The kids club was amazing!!!!!!!!! Our 3 year ols daughter loved it. The beach was excellent and the food at all the restaurants was good. The fake city by the resort was a fun place to walk around and do some shopping.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort

Very quiet resort with lots of room to walk and beautiful beach. Under construction when we where there, but grounds are kept up and the people are very friendly. Beautiful location, with a good bus ride to the resort.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Wonderful week

The Hotel was clean and well kept up. It was nice to have the 3 different pools for variety. The staff, both cleaning and wait staff, were very friendly and eager to please.The beach was beautiful; with white sand and clear blue water. I would go again tomorrow.

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Do not go there

The resort is good if you are about 60+ years cause there is nothing to do there the beach was amazing and that's it nothing else. The food was terrible I mean we lived on fries and chicken the whole time, the drinks where very good and the food on the beach was good as well but you know t was hot dog hamburgers I mean everybody can make some hot dogs or hamburgers. The little town was splendid had a little something almost every night we where there.

Melia Las Dunas: Would recommend to anyone

Food was great, service was great. If you have any hesitations about going to a Cuba all inclusive stay here. We had a group aged 17-50 and each and everyone of us loved it. It was a short walk to shopping and disco. Ice cream every afternoon was a treat. No line ups for food staff were very efficient.

Memories Paraiso: Very Good Condition

Hotel is great. But, watch out for the mosquito spray truck. We got blasted with insect spray while walking to dinner one night. Why they don't do that after mid-night is beyond me. Beach is very good. I walked the whole beach, and this was the best part of the beach on all of Cayo Santa Maria.

everything lush,beach is fantastic,room was great,i found the food excellent.....overall great bang for your buck and they adore canadians....have been to this resort twice....would return again...........

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Great vacation with family and friends!

Beach was awesome! (Although it got deep fast, not so good for small kids) Resort was nice and clean. Food just ok. Nice market near by. Really good Pina Colada's, Mojito not so good. A good resort to go and just relax by the ocean!

Memories Paraiso: Great place to stay

Had a great time, friendly staff, room kept very clean, food was good lots of choices and beach was awesome. Great value and this was my first all inclusive so was not sure what to expect, really enjoyed the resort and staff were so accommodating.

This is a big place but there are so many pools to go to, lots of places to eat and a beautiful beach that it never seems or feels crowded. The grounds are immaculate. Lobby, bars, dining areas and restaurants are clean and neat. The food variety was excellent. Turkey, pork, beef, chicken, fish, olives, cheese, prosciutto,salads galore, beans, beets , pickles, peppers, roasted peppers, cole slaw and I could go on and on. Fresh squeezed juice every morning.The lineups for the grilling stations get long but you do not have to stand and wait as there is so much to chose from all around you. Rooms are clean, towels changed every day. My only suggestion would be to have more umbrellas on the beach.

Memories Paraiso: Awesome Experience!!

My family and I recently travelled to the Memories Paraiso Azul Resort and were very impressed. The upgrade to Diamond Club was worth it. The private area on the beach was awesome. We received a late check out on the last day and had the opportunity to enjoy the morning and then go back and pack before boarding the bus to the airport. We did not find the bus ride either to the hotel or airport long and enjoyed what we could see. The food at the buffet was so great that we decided not to do a la  [... read more]cartes. My son, went to the same chef every morning to get his omelette and he knew right away what to make. The grounds were kept well and the drinks were great especially the Miami Vices! Only down side was the sand flea bites I got but that can happen anywhere. Definitely would recommend it to any family.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Kick your shoes off !

I have traveled all over the Caribbean and this hotel is one of the best over all i have ever been to. It was kept so clean i could eat off the floor ! The bathrooms were fresh and clean. The staff was wonderful and very help full. The food was full of flavor.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Had a great Time

This resort was what we were looking for in a relaxing vacation, no distractions, quiet, great beach. Food, well it's Cuba, food was fine, fresh breads every day were good, alway found something to eat, no complaints but expect North American type cuisine. Rooms were OK, clean, minibar alway stocked.

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Awesome beach!

Room: The room was dated, had some mold on the couch cushions, had a leaky bath tub. One night we came home to a leaky ceiling, however, it was fixed quickly (once the staff understood what we were saying to them). The mini fridge was great. If you left a dollar in it everyday it would get restocked with whatever you wanted (leave a note). We upgraded to a ocean view room. The buildings were getting run down. Food: We opted to eat at the buffet everynight. The food choices were good, especially when you went to the grill ( there was something different every night). Try the crepes, they were delicious! Beach: The beach was amazing!! The white sand went out as far as you could touch in the water! The beach was clean (no garbage laying around). One end of the beach was busier than the other. The drink lines were not long at the non busy end. Each morning a gentleman would meet you at the walkway and would sweep your lounger off once you found your spot for the day (huts were limited so get there early). The beach washrooms were not clean and the door did not lock. Entertainment: We only attempted two shows. One was the Michael Jackson which was pretty good. The other was Grease which we left within the first 10 mins. Overall we really enjoyed our vacation. If we wanted to go on another inexpensive vacation we would go back!
