Catalonia Playa Maroma: wonderful resort

We had a great time at the Cataloinia Playa Maroma. The staff were excellent. Octavio was so generous with his time and extremely helpful. We felt cared for the entire time. The housekeeping staff, Isabelle was wonderful. The food was tasty and the drinks were plenty. Bed was soft, and the resort had all we needed for a great week. Good value for the money.

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Great experience

After reading the reviews we were sceptical, but after arriving every person was extremely friendly staff was great our service was great rooms clean properly cleaned every other day beach was nice well groomed ,food I love ,and was not disappointed the ala carts were excellent, The concierge and bartenders went over the top, had one of her best trips I’ve been to Mexico 4 times and this was one of the best experiences

Grand Decameron Los Cabos: The Goldilocks Resort Great Value

Not too big and not too small… It was just Right Good food and location. Service was very good. I would and have recommended this resort to my friends. My second stay here and while COVID protocols made it different and difficult. It still did not disappoint…!

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Time of our Lives.....

We have recently returned from the Grand Palladium Kantenah and it was a wonderful experience. We spent 11 days and it was amazing. My man proposed to me on the beach and I could not think of a more romantic proposal. We can not wait to return however here are a few things I would recommend: The Romance villa suite with ocean view was not in prestine condition... Very professional and prompt service made for one of the best vacations I have ever had.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Amazing Resort for the price

In general I was very pleased with Grand Sirenis Resort, beautiful place to stay and we had great time. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I loved how you came up with those different vibes for different swimming pools. Though I opted not to clean my room, the cleaning stuff was really nice, they were very accommodating, changing the towels when needed, I was very pleased I loved the lazy river, what a great option, we absolutely loved it!!! One thing though, some guests forgot how to act and share and they would remove the tubes from the lazy river and took it with them. I mentioned it to some of those people that the tubes have clear sign that they belong to the lazy river only. I think the pool staff and staff on the beach should pay more attention to that and ask to return those tubes to lazy river I loved your gourmet coffee shop, however almost all the time there was a huge line up there. I would suggest adding more staff there, as the line was always moving very slow, or perhaps creating another coffee place. Adding more staff would definitely help. I loved the little restaurant on the beach serving lunch. It was great to get the food without having to change the clothes and go to the buffet for lunch. The ladies serving drinks on the beach were priceless. And they were absolutely super pleasant. love them. I loved the fact that you have a lot a la cart restaurant, but I was actually disappointed with the quality of food served there. Not at all better than in the buffet, that was a huge surprise. especially with the Mexican restaurant that should be a proudly representing local food. It was not even close what I was able to taste in the past at the real local restaurants, that was disappointing. Checking inn, though the staff was very pleasant, took waaaay too long. After a long trip, I was not happy with almost 40 minutes wait to check inn On the other note, I loved the fact that you had those concierge desks in few locations, that was extremely helpful on a daily basis, especially with the big size of the resort. One more thing I was a bit disappointed was the money exchange issue. It was not uncommon that there was no pesos available for the exchange, and usually there was lack of small bills. It took me four trips to kind of get what I needed. Still not what I wanted. This should not happen in 5 star resort, very inconvenient Over all, I was happy with my holiday, I would come back and recommend it to my friends. I also loved my tripcentral agent Nicole. She was extremely helpful and absolutely great to deal with

Grand Sunset Princess: Great Resort

I enjoyed my stay. The swim out suites could use some up keeping on the stairs down. The suites were a good size, bathrooms were modern. Grounds of the resort were clean as were the pool areas. Overall very nice resort.

Beloved Playa Mujeres by Excellence: Amazing Experience

The resort is clean and very well maintained. Food was delicious! I highly recommend The Lobster House for breakfast and lunch. The views were amazing to have any meal here! The staff truly made our experience a great one!

NYX Hotel Cancun: Very nice resort

It is a very beautiful resort. Booked a ‘regular’ room and we were offered an upgrade when we arrived. We looked at the room we booked first. It was a small dark room (no windows) a double bed and a dresser. Needless to say we took the upgrade. We were then moved to a beautiful suite. We had a living room, separate bedroom, 2 bathrooms and a wonderful balcony. The hotel staff were following a strict covid protocol. I appreciated that this resort only has 1 buffet and that’s for breakfast. All restaurants are sit down with wait staff. We went to the Italian restaurant and it was fine. However Umami (the Japanese restaurant) was amazing. However it is important to note this resort is NOT accessible. It was 51 stairs between our room and the pool. There are more stairs to the beach

The Sens Riviera: Honest Review

This is a budget friendly resort and one that you get what you pay for. If you are expecting amazing food, beautiful rooms - look elsewhere. But as a family with younger kids we had a great experience. Room - we booked a partial ocean view room and did not upgrade to the sun club. Our room was not great (aside from the view that was awesome). The bathroom had a terrible smell. The shower and glass looked dirty (I tried to wipe it down and it was clean just looked dirty). The rooms were very  [... read more]dated. The last day I found mould on the bed skirt (I would have moved if I found that earlier). Food - the food was okay. This is not a five star resort so we got what we expected. We could always find something we would eat at the buffet. Since the hotel is at 60% capacity the a la carte restaurants did not require a reservation and they were all fantastic. The pool side grille and the coco cafe were the best features. It is right beside the pool and my kids could eat whenever they wanted. It was quick and convenient and didn’t require us getting them changed into dry clothes. Resort- There are a lot of pools but many of them require an upgrade to the sun club. The main and kids pool were where it was at anyways. The entertainment staff were great (and not annoying). The kids loved the games and so did we. The beach was nice and everything is a 5 min walk from your room. There are quite a few large rocks in the water but the snorkelling is amazing. The Rex Dino Land is also a really cool feature but it is the only thing that is far from the main resort. It required a golf cart and we had to wait a long time when we called to have a golf cart take us back. Also note that the jungle view rooms are located in Rex Dino land and far from the main resort. Staff - the front desk staff are awful and not helpful. We are also pretty sure one of them took our iPad. My son set his iPad down and we walked away. We noticed within 30 min and went to the front desk to ask and they immediately said no (didn’t make any inquiries just no). The second time we asked they called the security desk and then said no and the third time they said to come back in a few hours and security would review the footage. That was the day before we left and we came back multiple times but security never got around to reviewing it. We had a few other inquiries and were met with dismissive unhelpful attitudes. The rest of the resort staff were amazing. So friendly and welcoming. My kids loved Carlos at the kids swim up bar and the staff at the buffet would always laugh and joke with them. The night time shows were decent with the best one being the fire show. All in all we had a good vacation. We felt they did a great job sanitizing and ensuring the resort was safe. We would come back if the price was right but it’s not a resort we would recommend to family or friends.

Occidental Tucancun: I would love to come again!!

The hotel is clean and has a great location. All personal is very friendly and polite. All meals are excellent. All 3 pools are very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed a lot of every minute. I would love to come back!

Riu Emerald Bay: Amazing resort

Rui was amazing one of the best resorts I have been too from the beach to the pool food hotel eveything was amazing I can’t wait to go back if you’re going to Mexico I highly recommend you go whale watching truly a very amazing experience

Club Meza Del Mar: Save your money

Will never stay there again . If you want to pay $3 US for a crappy cup of coffee at breakfast or $4 US for a nespresso pod for your room or a watered down cocktail for $10 US . If you want yo share the beach with day visitors from other hotels and want to spend time at the pool with young hustlers and old man trying to pick them up than stay here . But I would advice you to save your money and stay someplace else .

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great value!

Resort surprised us as it was not receiving the best reviews yet maybe they were from unfair people? Rooms were nice, staff was great almost everywhere throughout. The property was quite walkable and the swimming pools (cooler than expected) were plentiful. Beach was a good size and the water temperature was amazing. Good swimming with very little coral. Food in buffet was ok, much better in the restaurants - Blue Moon and Steak House and Italian were our favourites. Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen: Amazing Resort Experience!

This was our first time at the Hilton in Playa Del Carmen. We were there for "Departure", which was supposed to be a 5 day festival. The event was cancelled and we had no choice but to ultimately enjoy the resort and other local experience. We are sad to know that those who bought packages through Departure were refunded their full ticket and resort amounts but we did not since it was booked seperately. I will he asking Trip Central to look into this and see if we can at least get something back [... read more] since we were there for this event However, the Hilton offers everything you are looking for from an adult experience. The food and restaurants were hands down some of the best you can get. All seafood options were top notch. The pool was always kept clean and the love entertainment were slow at times and cater to a bit of an older crowd but in the end it's what you make of it by participating. This is a full beach front resort which has all activities from Jet Skiing l, parasailing, banana boating, scuba diving and much more all on the beach. One of my favourites experiences is the 24 hour room service for food. This allows anyone and everyone to eat in their own comfort while also being cautious of covid-19. Getting to the resort was easy and getting out of the airport was seemless. There were no tests required to enter the country. Great time and I would recommend anyone who is on the fence to book and get your experience as this is def a one of a kind.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Very Pleasantly Surprised!

I am very glad I didn't take much stock in all the negative reviews, because this resort was amazing! All the extra time and effort that was put into the extra safety measures definitely did not go unnoticed, and despite the fact they were extremely short staffed, everything was still very organized, the rooms were always clean, the drinks were refreshing, and all the staff were very pleasant to speak to! The rooms were also great, very clean, and much larger than a lot of other resorts I've stayed at. It was also very humid when we were there, but they had de-humidifiers in every room, so as long as you set it properly and remembered to empty it as needed (it only took 30 seconds out if our day), then the humidity wasn't an issue. Check in took a bit longer than usual, but like I said, they were very short staffed so that was completely understandable. Also, the resort app was very useful, as it was always up to date with which restaurants and bars were open or closed each day (again they were short staffed, so they rotated one restaurant to be closed each night, while all the others remained open). All in all, this vacation was definitely one of the best I've been on! You could see how much hard work everyone was putting in to make our week great, and it was definitely very appreciated!

Grand Oasis Cancun: Max a 3 star hotel

The resort is very big, but the rooms smell humid, the staff isn’t particularly friendly/helpful. One of the sports staff was actually snobby. There are 2 types of bracelets - blue for regular and black for luxury - and with the blue bracelet you don’t have access to restaurants, some areas, mixed drinks. This was my first time booking an all inclusive as an adult (I had been twice as a teen with my parents), and was really not a good one. Not recommended at all. Tripcentral rates this as a 4.5 star, Google says 3, I would put it at a 2. The only good thing was the beach.

Dreams Huatulco: Amazing Resort

The resort is very beautiful. It was a short drive from the airport. Very clean resort. Always someone cleaning. The beach was a beautiful sandy beach and the water was warm. Beach felt safe and protected. The staff was very accommodating. The pools were beautiful. Many to choose from. Great poolside service. Pool temperature was perfect. Restaurants were all excellent. I would highly recommend.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Mediocre situation

Total: 1/5 stars 4/5 stars Being part of a resort complex, Akumal offers access to 3 other resorts' restaurants and facilities (Coba, Tulum, Sian Khan). This means more options for a la carte dinners, with great to excellent food/menu. 0/5 stars It also means that 2 of those extra resorts are crowding in Akumal's beach side lounge chairs, making it really hard to find a sun bathing spot. 0/5 stars All food and drinks have tons of sugar in them (sugar cane based), obviously targeting  [... read more]the US tourist. It's insanely hard to find any non-sweet cocktail, and good luck finding tacos at the breakfast/lunch buffets. 0/5 stars Spa appointments are hit or miss, the app based scheduling is horrible (applies to restaurants too), check-in took 1 hour without taking into account the line-up, and even then it was incomplete. WiFi access was not enabled, so we had to go back in line a 2nd time.

El Dorado Royale: Great Resort

The resort is great. The location is okay. Just a short distance to Play Del Carmen or Cancun if you need to go shopping. The resort is safe, very clean and well maintained. The staff are very friendly and ready to help when you need it. The room was spacious, clean and tidy. The room service is 24/7. We got a garden view and did not regret about. The drinks are good. The food could be a bit better, but this is very subjective. My wife got poisoned at an Asian restaurant as sushi is not sushi, b [... read more]ut something that shouldn't be never served/taken. The beach is small (open for swimming) but comfortable. The resort's territory is big enough if you like to walk. Entertainment every night.

El Dorado Seaside Suites: Wonderful New Year's Vacation

For New Year's Eve 2022, my wife and I took two of our adult daughters and our son-in-law to El Dorado Seaside Suites Infinity. It was our 3rd time at the resort and everyone else's first time. We had a fabulous vacation! Our daughters had two poolside swim up rooms (ground floor). We had a 3rd floor infinity "swim up". Accessibility: One daughter uses mobility devices to get around. We rented a GoChair from PlayaMobility (in Playa del Carmen), and brought her walker and canes. The resor [... read more]t isn't quite accessible by Canadian standards - there are "little" steps up and down all over the place. However, a ramp was placed in front of her room for the week, and most of the restaurants had a ramp to help with any steps. The staff and guests were willing to help ease the GoChair in/out on the handful of occasions that she required assistance. Ultimately, she was able to get in and out of the pool daily and visit the beach (with family assistance). And, to explore independently. Meals: El Dorado Seaside Suites is a gourmet inclusive resort. Every meal was delicious. The dinners being the most elaborate, elegant and unique in terms of culinary experience. It seemed like every meal was better than the previous - nightly we were proclaiming "best meal ever!" only for it to be outdone the next evening. Our favourite restaurants were the Culinarium (fusion), Carreta (Mexican), Mia Casa Dorado (Italian) and Klay Talay (Asian). COVID Protocols: ALL STAFF were masked at ALL TIMES. Our rooms were cleaned daily and were spotless. There is a nightly turn down service. Guests are asked to wear masks on the transportation (stretch golf carts) and in the common areas. Most guest complied, but not all (such are the times). In your room, on the beach / loungers / Bali beds, pool or swim up bar masks were off. Our concierge arrange for private COVID tests in our rooms ($100USD) 2 days prior to departure. It was professional, convenient, quick and we had the results (5x NEGATIVE) within about 12 hours. So, it's definitely possible for 5 fully vaccinated adults to vacation for a week and remain healthy. (As confirmed by random testing upon return to Canada.) Rooms: All the rooms were magnificent and accessible once inside. The bathrooms were spacious - jetted tub, separate shower, separate water closet. and double sinks. All of which are good for a marriage. Our only regret was not getting a poolside room like our daughters. The higher floor provided a more spectacular view and privacy. But, the Infinity "River" was COLD, while the main pool was relatively warm. But, in the end we prefer to swim instead of wade. Other: The El Dorado team "bent over backwards" to provide a great stay for our family. All servers were courteous, warm and professional. We'll be back.
