We stayed as A Diamond Club member which had the best part of the beach, the staff were wonderful loved everything about this place the food was ok you could always find something to eat, you could always find something to do

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great resort, awful weather

Everything about this hotel was great! other than the beach which has a lot of coral. Beautiful grounds, room was fantastic, staff was awesome. Though I am a very picky eater, I was still able to enjoy the food as they have a very wide variety of simple foods. I would definitely return.

Even though the weather wasn't great the resort itself was beautiful the staff were very helpful and accomadating. I would go back in a heartbeat Could use more activities when weather isn't great. Also the evening entertainment staff were amazing...didn't miss a night :)

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Even the food was good!

Resort was a solid 4 for Cuba. Clean rooms and overall resort, extremely friendly staff, and surprisingly for Cuba, the food was quite good in variety and quality. Activities were good, night time entertainment was average. Pools a good depth for play. Beach has some coral/rocks to get past but shallow once you're in. Good day trips available. Short ride to and from airport. Check in and out quick and simple.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Would not recommend if looking for a 4+ resort

Our vacation started off great with a fast and efficient check in. We were given our room number and keys before we boarded the bus to the resort but from there it went down hill. We had terrace rooms and found out in the morning that we didn't have chairs to sit on our terrace. Requested at the front desk and there was 2 plastic chairs placed which were promptly taken from us over night. Guessing they took them from someone else's terrace as a lot of them didn't have chairs. Our children used t [... read more]heir 2 room chairs for out on the terrace. Our handle for the patio door was only half attached and they wouldn't fix it so my husband try to put the screw in a little better by hand so we didn't yank it right off trying to open the door. The toilet in the kids room never worked properly as well. It was either continuously flushing or not flushing at all. Numerous complaints still didn't get it fixed. They had a light bulb burn out in their bathroom and the maintenance solution was to take a working one from one of their lamps. Their were a number of days we couldn't exchange our beach towels because they didn't have enough. We had one towel for 3 days before we were able to get it exchanged and that was only after complaining to customer services. They pre-booked all of our a-la-carte restaurants to suit them. We had no choice on restaurants or times and they would only change the time on one of them even though when we went all of the restaurants were pretty much empty with only 2-3 tables being used. The buffet food wasn't the greatest and every plate you picked up was severely chipped and cracked and they only used paper napkins for the evening meals. Any other time we have been in Cuba they always had a complete table set with cloth napkins for the evening meals. I just want to say this is the only time I have written a review after returning from Cuba. This was our 6th trip there so we were very aware that things are not perfect in Cuba but we found this time the staff weren't nearly as friendly or helpful as other times and all these little things really add up when you are expecting a 4+ resort. I really think this we be our last trip to Cuba because on top of the resort the return trip at the airport was complete "kaus". We were traveling as a family of 5 and we were all scatted separately throughout the plane and they were processing 4 bus loads of passengers using only 2 clerks plus one other for express check in.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: the resort was amazing i would go again in a minut

I thought the place was wonderful the grounds, beach , pool, dinning, rooms and the service was all good I would definitly recomend to anyone and trip central was very helpful with any questions we had thanks again

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Don't go there!

Not a place we would go to again! The food was typical for Cuba, not a big variety, but pretty good really. Rooms were kept clean, but had gaping space under and around the door so bugs and frogs and geko's could come in,( we placed a towel across the bottom each night) the air conditioner didn't work very well, most days there was no water for showering and if there was, it was too hot to use! 1 bottle of water was all you got for the week in your fridge and we had to ask for that. There after, [... read more] it needed to be filled at the bar, if they had water that day. 1 of the pools was closed most of the week for some maintainence , the other was dirty.The staff though, was very friendly and tried to be helpful . The beach was lovely, although very shallow water for a long long way out. I didn't like that there were no sun shelters on the beach. We've been to Cuba 8 times in the past few years, we love it, but this was our worst experience so far

Muthu Colonial Hotel: awesome resort

food was fine, beach was perfect, staff treated you very good, rooms were ok other than the water pressure and lack of at times....grounds were well taken care of....always felt comfortable at this resort no matter where you were

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Worst trip ever

Dear Sir or Madam, We had the worst experience at that resort. When we arrived at the resort, the Memories music was not playing. We were welcomed at the end of a pathway at the end of the main buildings, given a glass of punch and a map of the resort. We had to find our building on our own. When we booked, we asked to be in the buildings 20 to 24. This request was totally ignored. We both have back problems and were given the farthest building from the beach on the resort. We explained our p [... read more]roblem and asked to be moved to a building closer to the beach. They refused. I have a CPAP machine. There was no plug by the bed. I asked for an extension. They claimed they did not have one. They sent somebody to our room to figure what they could do. The man who came to our room had to move the bed closer to a plug with my CPAP plug at its maximum length. No room for movement. My $4,500 CPAP machine fell twice on the floor during my stay. My CPAP machine has to be plugged on 110 volt. I brought a converter because I knew Cuba operates on 220 volt. We firmly told the man who came to our room not to plug it in before we figure out which converter to use. He kept arguing it could go on 220 volt. Despite our strict refusal, he plugged it in and started the machine. I was extremely upset and stopped it immediately and unplugged it. The resort gave us a late check out because of that. When we complained to our Sunwing representative, he directed us to Customer Relations. He did not help us. We complained to their Customer Relations person to have an extension cord. The person said they would deliver one to our room. They never did. The garden view was a long trench with pipes in it and piles of soil dug out. Our room did not have air conditioning for the entire week of our stay. The temperature at night was ranging from 27 to 32. We asked to be moved to a different room with air conditioning. They kept telling us there was none available and to ask them again in 2 days. My husband suffered from heat exhaustion. He was sick for 3 days and was unable to get out of the room for a full day. He lost 12 pounds because of the heat and he was unable to eat. Three hours after getting home, he was seeing our family doctor. He was given antibiotics and put on a rice and dry toast diet. There were stains on the sheets. We asked that they replace them. We had to ask 3 times over several days before it was done. There were big holes in the bath towels. There were no facecloths. The food was awful. So blend. Everything tasted the same. The beef was so tough, I was unable to cut it at all. Our previous trips to Cuba had decent food, so we were surprised at how bad it was. Twice we had sour butter and twice we had sour milk.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Just what we were looking for.

Nice resort. Small and very quiet. Not much in the way of entertainment and food was limited. Rooms were nice and clean. Beach was beautiful but not many shady places. The towel game was played for sure. Great place for a quiet relaxing vacation. Not do great if your looking for a party atmosphere.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: First time at Memories, defiantly not the last

We are not rookies at travelling to Cuba, this was our 6th time in 5 years. We know that the food usually will be, bland not here at the Memories. The food was the best we've had ever, at a Cuban resort. We only stay at 4 stars or better. It was even better than the Riu in Costa Rico we stayed at last year. The service is above par. We were greeted on the bus at the airport by the General Manager of the resort, she was such a nice and personable person. She, and her right hand woman, the manager [... read more] of the resort were everywhere. They talked to all guests all week, even participating in the Foam party at the adult pool. You could see that they were respected by all the staff. All the staff are great and eager to help. We had a room over looking the pool,in building 2. Great spot central to everything, a little noisy as you can hear the music from the theatre, but your on vacation, enjoy it. The beach is the most beautiful beach I've ever seen. It's a little tricky getting into the ocean, as there is dead coral in spots. There are spots to get around it. Once you get in the ocean it's breathtaking. Crystal clear water, with the beautiful turquoise colour. But please leave the starfish and sand dollars in the water where they belong. The resort is pretty big, but easy to get around. The drinks were different at every bar, so don't get stuck on the same drink. We did have one evening without water, it lasted about 20 minuets. That was the only issue we had. Sure the beds are a little hard, the pillows are not the best, bring your own if you wish. We would go back in a heartbeat

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great vaca.

Wonderful and friendly staff, great food, beautiful pool, overall a fabulous holiday. For our first time to Cuba we were impressed with the scenery and how helpful and attentive the resort staff were to us.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: so so! you get what you pay

grounds keepers do amazing! resort is beautiful. staff is not quite so good, brings the hotel level down for sure. alacartes were terrible, but the buffet food was great. beach was fantastic. maids do not actually clean bathroom but tidy up...

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Exceeded our expectation !

Short ride from the airport. Check in was fast. Bellboys are nice. New clean hotel rooms. Water pressure is very good. Love our rooms. We didn't have the beach towels for the whole week, we could ask for the towels tickets, but kept forgetting, and ended up using our room towels :). It was fine for us. Beach is beautiful with crystal clear water, and clean... although, they are lack of shady places at the beach. a bit rocky... Food plentiful and taste good, no shrimps but lot of fishes and chick [... read more]en, beef, pork, french fried with ketchup a lot ( a bit weird taste)...Fruits are good with papayas, red guavas, pineapple, watermelon, green melon, bananas every day. Good ice creams, everyone loves the hotel ice creams. This is 4 star hotel, therefore they don't fill up soft drink or beer in mini bar. We had water every day. I found the drinks like pina colada or cocktails are better than other Cuban resorts I have been to. There is no disco at the resort. This is new resort , so they still work on the gardening. The security staffs are excellent. The receptionists are professional and helpful. We forgot twice our belongings at the beach and pool...and all returned. It is really amazing ! The night entertainment shows and lobby singers are really..really good ! The best I have seen so far from all of my trips. I am happy and would recommend this resort to my family and friends, with the deal we got, we are all happy. Cuba is our first choice. Beautiful beach, nice people, the foods are good, we always found something to eat.

Hotel Mojito: Beautiful Beach, Resort was okay...

The hotel grounds were actually very nice and clean, all the gardeners and cleaning staff worked hard. Rooms were old and run down, our toilet didn't work and the room smelled really bad (toxic), a technician attempted to fix it but never did. You only got decent service if you tipped, tipping was expected ALL THE TIME and if you didn't tip once you would not get service the next time. I was at the Grand Caribe a few months back and what a difference, service and staff was excellent despite of t [... read more]ipping, I travelled with my toddler and at the Grand Caribe, a high chair was always brought to us, here I always had to find the high chair myself and bring it to the table, never once did the waiter bring it for me. Food was pretty good for Cuba standards and the beach was absolutely stunning, so if you're mainly going for the beach, this may be the place for you!. Also the Michael Jackson show is incredible, these people belong on a BIG stage somewhere, they are too talented to be performing only at the resorts.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: The Absolute Best!!

One of if not the best resorts and vacations we have ever taken. Would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone. It caters to a wide range of age groups. The staff are truly exceptional at what they do. We will return!

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Fantastic & Amazing!

Even if it was a low season the service in all areas were fantastic! The grounds were superb! Ocean was fantastic and yes plenty of chairs and also at the pool area there was plenty of them..no issues. The food variations throughout the day , lots of choices, the fish was the best at the ocean! Bar services were superb in all areas. Hats off to all the men bringing in chairs at the pool and ocean always s great service with s smile! Trip central (Lynn) this was a fantastic choice! A day trip to Pilar Beach was amazing and a beautiful, first time there I had to do it for a second time! If the price is right I will be returning! Month of April the weather was fantastic.

Sol Cayo Coco: Sol Cayo Coco - Loved it again!

We stayed at this hotel for the second time from April 10-24 and we loved it even more ! It is a perfect size (270+ rooms), not crowded but enough facilities. The hotel beach is fabulous with a nice breeze to make the heat bearable and long enough for a 1 hour walk to the end and back. There is another public beach with a hotel bar and beds just around the "rock" which is protected from the wind with very shallow water. We ate most lunches at the beachfront restaurant (which becomes a la carte i [... read more]n the evening) - our favourite spot. The buffet is good, plenty of choice of fish & meat cooked to order with a nice salad bar and other food (hot & cold). People complain about it being the same every day but when you can choose from up to 6 different fish and chicken/pork/beef plus other entrees what's the problem? Rooms are ok - a bit dated in spots (closet door tough to slide) but if you don't like yours let them know and you'll be moved. Always perfectly clean, comfortable and lots of hot water. The staff are wonderful. You will never see a harder or faster working bartender than Orlando at the pool bar, even when it is 35c! They are very friendly and appreciate it when you talk to them about their work, life and terrible pay - $20 per month! (that's why tips are greatly appreciated but not looked for). There is the odd sourpuss but not as many as we find at home! The evening shows are very good for such a small hotel - the dancers are excellent. None of the half hour prize awards for the daily pool events we've endured at other resorts - when "its Showtime" it really is showtime. The "Moron Plus" 55 CUC trip is well worth it - visit the town, a couple of bars for entertainment then a fabulous speedboat trip on a lagoon and through the mangroves followed by lunch. This might be classed as a 3.5 star but it is because it only has 2 a la carte restaurants and no swim-up bar. Otherwise it is a great hotel which we can't wait to visit again.!

Hotel Playa Paraiso: A wonderful Resort!

The grounds were lovely the pools we great not overcrowded and the food was very good...especially the restaurants..We enjoyed our vacation very much here. The service was great the cleaning ladies so friendly and helpful.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Excellent Trip to Tryp

The resort is wonderful. Clean, well kept, friendly staff. Food is good, rooms are also good, if a bit dated. Would not hesitate to go back. Tipping appears to be necessary to get the best service, but overall wonderful week.
