Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: 5 STAR ACCOMODATIONS

MY 4TH VISIT TO CUBA AND THE ACCOMODATIONS AT THIS RESORT SURPASS ANYTHING i HAVE HAD IN THE PAST . SUITE PROVIDES PLENTY OF ROOM FOR A SMALL FAMILY ALLOWING FOR PLENTY PRIVACY POOL AREA IS SPECTACULAR WITH THE LOWER POOL OVERLOOKING THE OCEAN - YOU ARE LITERALLY STEPS TO THE BEACH FROM THE LOWEST POOL BUFFET AND RESTERAUNTS ARE ACCEPTABLE BUT NOT SPECTACULAR PIG BARBEQUE IS A LUNCHTIME MUST LOBBY IS LARGE AND OPEN AND VERY COMFORTABLE ENTERTAINMENT WAS GOOD BUT AGAIN NOT SPECTACULAR CONSIDDERIN [... read more]G THIS IS A VERY NEW RESORT EVERYTHING WAS QUITE ORGANIZED AND WELL RUN WITH A LITTLE FINE TUNING HERE AND THERE WILL B PERFECT CANT SAY ENUFF ABOUT THE ACCOMODATIONS AND POOL AREAS THESE IN THEMSELVES ARE FAR BETTER THAN ANYWHERE I HAVE BEEN IN CUBA WELL DONE !!

Memories Paraiso: Awesome Food and Relaxation

This is my third time at this resort and I would go there again. The beach is fantastic with its soft, white sand and clean water, the hotel is clean especially your room. The food was plentiful, nutricious, and wholesome and healthly that one can find what they need whether vegeterian, fish or meat.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort, clean, friendly and attentive

We stayed at the Eurostars Cayo Santa Maria in January 2014. The resort is rather new and quite big. We have been to Cuba several times but this was our first vist to Cayo Santa Maria. The hotel is very clean and the staff are super friendly. The rooms have a nice layout and were cleaned daily. We really enjoyed the Bar-B-Q at the beachside restaurant for lunches everyday and found the food to be quite good. The beach is beautiful. The family pool was a nice place to end the afternoons. Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Exellent value and super resort

A very large resort, got good exercise just to walk between restaurants room and beach. One of the best beaches anywhere in the carribean. The food was average, often ran out of primary food and had to serve alternatives, never the less always plenty to choose from. The staff was super friendly and accommodated every wish we had.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort and getting better

Stayed in March 2014. Beautiful grounds and beach was amazing. We were scared that it would be awful because it got some bad reviews before we went but they were obviously working very hart to correct anything wrong. Some of the lines got a bit long but this was solved by either walking to another bar or waiting a few minutes. Pizza oven had a huge line but was well worth it. Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Great place for a much needed rest!

Went with my Mom, Aunt and two sisters in Jan 2014 for a much needed rest and time of refreshing. We loved it! Had a fantastic time there and the resort was wonderful. The only thing that was wrong is that it wasn't long enough!

Melia Las Dunas: Great resort, clean, friendly staff!

We have been here twice, very happy with our experiance there. Grate place for the whole family...... My wife and son loved. We are planning on going a thrid time. Don't fix it if not broken :) Can't wait to go back...

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Great value resort

The staff were very friendly and the pool and beach areas were amazing! The food could have been a bit better, but was not terrible. The rooms were clean, but we found them very dark. One thing we did not like was having to leave the resort to go to the disco. We only went once as a result. Overall had a great time!

Melia Las Dunas: Fantastic Resort, Fantastic Staff & FANTASTIC CUBA

Have traveled to this resort 8x and have seen changes both good & bad but mostly good. Fantastic Staff is the least we can say. Truly make an effort to make your vacation enjoyable. The beach is a GEM! Turquoise clear water, white sand and sun. Who can ask for more?

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Beautiful Experience

This was like a honeymoon experience for us. We stayed in the Villas, with valet service. Excellent service. The hotel is a bit back from the beach, but the beach is beautiful once you get there. Grounds were well kept. Food was very good at Villas (had lobster every day), however we did venture to the buffet at the main building a couple of times and we thought it was very good by Cuba standards. Takes some time to get to and from airport, but was worth the time given the value we received.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: awesone family place

We loved how friendly the staff were and how involved everyone was with the guests. The rooms were clean and we always had hot water and cool air. My family had more then enough selections of food to choose from at the buffet. We would gladly reccomend it to our friends and family.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: One of the best spots in Cuba!

We have stayed in holguin,Varadero and Havana but Santa Maria was our favourite Cuban holiday.This resort is small with a beautiful beach and grounds.The live music is excellent and the staff couldn't be more helpful.There are enough good food options to make everyone happy.Loved the pool too.

Memories Paraiso: Great beach! Great Staff! Great value!

Very clean resort on the most amazing beach. Staff all over the resort gave excellent service - beautiful people. Rooms were a good size, very comfortable and clean. We didn't have a bad meal - lots of selection at the buffets, and the a la cartes were decent.

When my niece and I chose this resort I was wondering what surprises we would find that werent mentioned .Well the trip from the airport to the resort was rather long but was sooooooo worth it ,the cost was pennies compared to the beauty that we found there I loved this resort the ppl were so friendly the entertainment was really good on some nights was excellent far beyond expectation .The resort was very clean and the room was the best I have stayed in since traveling south (which I have done  [... read more]for about 30 yrs now ) We were more then satisfied with this gem .I would have gone again this past winter but just couldnt get the time frame right to fit in . We will absolutely go there again when the time fits. There was a pool right outside our room there is a snack bar by all six pool hugh pools and the beach is so beautiful. The food is great the service is great the walk to the buffet was a short one from where we were .The only negative thing I think is that we didnt get to see the whole resort til the day before we were to leave .Please consider this before choosing another resort you will not be disappointed .

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: fantastic value

Playa Cayo Santa Maria was a beautiful,relaxing resort.The beach was fantastic, the people super and even the food was pretty good. The rooms were huge with large modern bathrooms. We had adjoining rooms with our kids which was great as we could book it this way with Hola Sun. Even the 90 min. bus ride was not too bad as we got to see the countryside and the town in which the locals lived.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Family Vaca 2014

If you looking for fun in the sun and food that is okay than this will fit the bill.... I personally would rather spend the extra $500 and go to Mexico for a family vacation but that is my opinion. My 6 yr old daughter had food poisoning the first night there (on her birthday) and says she will not go back (I would not blame this resort in whole its Cuba). The catamaran trip was great and I found affordable. Would I go back prob not for no other reason than I would like to try other resorts on the island.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Fantastic Hotel to go back to!

We have gone to (Playa Cayo Santa Maria) 3 times. We love it so much we will keep going back. Staff are very friendly eager to please. Food is amazing especially the Seafood Restaurant on the beach. Overall fantastic place to stay. The beaches are amazing crystal clear blue waters. Everything you need is all under one roof. Must see and experience the beauty they have to offer.

Melia Las Dunas: Beautiful Resort

This was our first trip to Cuba and we were anxious on what to expect. This resort surpassed our expectations. It was beautiful, clean, and grounds well maintained. All the staff were friendly, easy to talk with and helpful, esp the first day finding our way around. It is a large resort so expect to do some walking. Walking did not bother us because we were on holidays and in no rush to go anywhere. The pools were big and lots of chairs so finding a place to sit was not a problem. We had no problem with anything in the room, and no bugs. A couple things we were a bit disappointed in was that the resort was down a long causeway and mopeds were not allowed off the causeway. The trip was great from all stand points. I know how valuable reviews both negative and positive are for you as an agent. I'll give you as many details as possible. Cubana Air: Knowing as we did that these aircrafts were a bit older and had no in-flight entertainment our expectations were met. We had no trouble with delays and in fact our flight home was 35 minutes ahead of schedule. The food on the flights was good and the service was friendly. HolaSun: Again our expectations were met. The tr [... read more]ansfers to the airport and hotel were on time and the guide went through good explanations of the towns that we travelled through. Everything was handled with professionalism and courtesy. Our representative at the hotel was available most days and the orientation was very good. When he wasn't available there was someone else who could book excursions for us. Playa Cayo Resort: Amazing!! So beautiful and the rooms were large and comfortable. Not the cleanest but as you suggested, we looked at it from the point of view of a third world country and where it counted (the bathroom) it was very clean. Smudges around the door handles etc. isn't a big deal for me in this instance. The pools, gym, public washrooms and restaurants were very clean. The staff (with the exception of the front desk staff and even they weren't bad just not terribly helpful) were spectacular. Very helpful and friendly. Never walked by anyone whether it was a room maid or a maintenance staff without them saying Hola. The beach was so beautiful, sandy and well maintained. The waves were very high the first few days but the sailboats were out on the ocean for a few of the days. We never got any information regarding the paddle boats or canoes they had. We didn't see any out in the ocean so maybe it was because of the waves. It did say in the brochure that they were available for no costs. The tipping process should be explained better though. Who should get tipped? how much? how often? Tips may not be expected but we saw some people tip and others didn't. Felt a little unclear as to what was expected or normal. Overall a very enjoyable experience, but I'm glad we took your advice and had no expectations because they certainly were exceeded.
