Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: It was a beautiful resort.

The hotel was amazingly huge, lots of greenery, walking pathway resting places and lovely decorations everywhere. The food was lovely and the alacart restaurants were amazing, all the bars and coffee shops were in the right places and the staff and their service was lovely. I loved the room and all the pools, beautiful beach, lobby shops I am definitely going back some day soon.

Royal Hideaway Playacar: Amazing 5 star resort!

I travel to Mexico 3 times a year for vacations and always stay at various 5 star resorts. Royal Hideaway Playacar is a favorite. The food is out of this world and the staff go above and beyond to pamper you. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The landscaping is gorgeous. If you are a beach person, this resort is for you. Best beach in Mexico. Pools are beautiful too. In closing, this resort is truly a 5 star resort and you will not be disappointed.

Allegro Playacar: Amazing resort

Hotel newly renovated rooms the same and the grounds were beautiful staff werr very pleasant. Close to shopping 5th Avenue is a must to see,lots to do.Beautiful sandy beach. Great entertainment very night. A GOOD variety of food.

Grand Palladium Colonial: “Fantastic 3rd time”

My husband & I just stayed at the Grand Palladium Colonial from Oct 30 - Nov 9/18 and we had a absolutely fantastic vacation. This is our third time to this resort and will continue to return again & again. The service was above & beyond, from our check in at the reception to every other staff member at the resort. The food was fantastic in the buffet, so many choices. The only thing I would like to see is a better selection in the Mexican. I can have Tacos, burritos & fajitas at home. I  [... read more]am not saying that the food was bad just would really like to have some traditional Mexican food, something very different. The room was very clean and the fridge stocked daily. There was only one day where housekeeping forgot to leave us towels but oh well, everyone forgets sometimes. We met up with our friends from London who were staying on the TRS side of the resort. We went up to their room one evening and WOW! I think my husband & I and going to try the TRS side the nexttime, it is absolutely stunning! Overall I have no complaints about our stay in the Colonial. We had a fruit basket delivered to our room the day after we arrived which was a very nice touch. We spent our days at the Colonial Adult/Secret pool and had the best service we have ever had. Our bartenders name was Irvin and he was amazing! He never sat down, he was constantly coming around and getting drinks for everyone. I think he deserves to be rewarded for his wonderful service and friendliness. It is people like Irvin that make you want to go back to a place. Thank you Irvin and every other staff member that works there you all deserve a medal. The Palladium obviously has a very good training program as they are all very polite, courteous and very caring. Cudos to all of them! 🏆🥇 H & A Kanys

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Second time! Still great!

We got married at this resort in 2016 and loved everything about it. We went back this time with our two young children. Food was amazing although a la cartes said they couldn’t let us in when there were no reservations allowed and empty tables. Drinks are delicious! The frappacino with baileys was my morning go to! Yoga was relaxing and beach was gorgeous.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Amazing resort

This resort was absolutly stunning! Would recommend it to any one wanting a good for value resort! We will be returning forsure! Very close to playa which was a bonus! We really enjoyed our time here food was great pools were great and of course the drinks were awesome!

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing Resort!

The resort was beautiful! We had a view of the water and morning sunrise from our balcony in building 69. Rooms were nice, but bed was uncomfortable and pillows small. Loved being close to the beach. Food was delicious and drinks never stopped coming. There are so many restaurants to choose from and loved the other resorts as well. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming, they work so long and hard to make your stay pleasant. We definitely will go back! Royal Hideaway Playacar: Very good resort!

Reception: well trained and knowledgeable staff work the front desk. Check in was smooth. Room: we had a second floor room and everything worked as it should (air conditioner, mini-fridge, lighting, plumbing, patio door, room safe and television). Appointments were tasteful and practical for our needs. Bed was comfortable. Room itself was very large and well laid out, and lots of natural light. SPA/Gym: we didn't use the spa services, but toured the facilities and they were clean and [... read more] luxurious. The gym was small and divided into sections across two rooms. Free weight dumb bells, and a few multi-station machines and benches ensured an ability to do a full work out. The cardio equipment is in a separate room, and the only negative is that it is a very small room and not well ventilated. Restaurants: there are five a la carte restaurants (with limited serve yourself options at breakfast and lunch at one restaurant) Grill/Beach Grill: mornings and noon included a la carte and self-serve options. Breakfast was hot and fresh and very well maintained. Omelettes and eggs made to order. Lunch was much the same with a decent variety of options on the a la carte. Supper presents a steakhouse inspired menu with decent options that are well prepared. Asian: variety of Asian inspired dishes, but did not score highly in terms of taste. Dishes were fresh none the less and well made, just not tasty compared to what you are likely used to at home. Ventanas: (international theme) - lots of options, but tastes will vary. Familiar dishes prepared with the chef's own twist. Polazzo: (Italian) - great selection, well prepared, and tasty. Southern and northern dishes, as well as some more traditional North American fare. Spices: very good Mexican menu. Fresh, and well presented. Some authentic dishes as well as North American inspired offerings. Pools: two great pools (one infinity and one lap pool). Lots of activities to keep people busy around the pool, and excellent drinks/food service is provided. All with an ocean view! Beach: the beach is outstanding. Lots of lounger chairs, sun beds and shade for those who prefer staying out of the sun. Very quiet, as it is a very large area, and further removed from the flow of foot traffic of people walking along the beach itself. Grounds: very well maintained and clean. Quiet, despite the proximity to other resorts. Easy to get from one area to another and well marked. Staff: very motivated, pleasant and attentive. New staff is shadowed by more experienced staff as part of their onboarding strategy. Always helpful and eager to please and they take great pride in their customer service. Bars: some work could be done to better integrate the guest experience. Bars seem to be focused on serving the restaurants (in the main building) - a suggestion would be to offer more snacks throughout the day/afternoon to encourage visitors to hang out. Drinks are well made and served up quickly. Top shelf liquor, but oddly, no Sol beer. It's an easy enough walk into Playa del Carmen along the beach (20 minutes or so) and this is a bonus if you want to shop or dine off the resort. Great time, would recommend to couples who aren't seeking a nightlife experience, but a relaxing, fulfilling getaway.

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Beautiful

We stayed during fall break with 3 kids- hotel is beautiful almost all rooms have a beautiful view ,stuff are really helpful, food delicious, location is great you're in downtown so you could walk into the Main Street and enjoy shopping and buy some souvenirs ( it also quite) Italian restorant is fantastic!!!But there is few things that I have to mention there is no really a beach to enjoy... 8 years ago as I've been told they had a beautiful beach but after a storm it's washed away so you  [... read more]have to go to different beaches( all beaches are public in Mexico) .. something that I find inconvenient is location of a family room (yes they got a beautiful ocean view )but under your balcony there is Disco and theater , they have a disco up till 11 p.m. so if you have little kids it's not so comfortable cuz they might not fall asleep in time (I wonder who had such a bad idea to build a family room right beside of theater and the Disco).

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Great Resort!

The Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach was a wonderful resort. We went for a week in November 2018. Overall, I would recommend this resort to any of my family or friends. Rooms were clean and nice looking, staff were very helpful and friendly, swimming pools wre very nice, I liked that there was always enough lounge chairs available by the pool and beach. The food was fair, both my spouse and daughter got sick near the end of our week.

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Beautiful beach .... okay resort

The beach at this resort was beautiful and unique with natural coral and exotic fish in the water BUT if you are not 50 + and or European DONT go here . This resort is geared towards its European visitors and the entire time we felt like we were in seniorville. No offence but we were just disappointed in the lack of entertainment and things to do in the evening . There were absolutely no younger adults (we are in our 30’s) and if you were at all loud in any way ( we had a small speaker of musi [... read more]c playing on the beach with us ) you were complained about and talked to by staff . It’s rediculius . The worst part is I read all the reviews prior to booking and NOONE mentioned that this is geared for like retirement age and english people ( we are Canadian ) (I only mention the type of people geared to as this affected their food choices ) we were in Mexico and could barely find a freakin taco !! Everything was fish n chips and pastas . Food was mediocre and everything in the resort and it’s sister resort (one side is sensimar one is el dorado) was extremely far so it either took forever to walk there or it took long waiting for a golf cart to take you . I will say the food at el dorado side was much better .

Barcelo Maya Grand Resort: Amazing resort!

It was spotless! The staff were all so very friendly, welcoming, they were always working so hard to make your stay easy. The rooms were basic, but you are only sleeping there so no biggie. This resort had everything you need all in one. The kids waterpark near Tropical is highly recommended my kid was there daily for hours. The barcy kids club was fantastic, the staff are so great with the kids,and they make sure your kids are having a fun time! All the pools were awesome, the beach is stunning [... read more]! Water beautiful blue with white soft sand, fishes swimming, turtles hanging out and the water was so warm as well. Also for food, the Kyoto la Carte was delicious, so was the Spanish restaurant, La Fuente, the buffets had food for everyone! It was really good, they had theme nights and overall the snack bars, buffets, a la carte's that we tried were really good. I don't have any complaints.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Bahia Principe Coba is the best!

We stayed in Coba for 12 days. Excellent room service. Extremely clean room. Well-maintained facility. Easy access to all facilities with regular transportation. Food is good; a la carte restaurants: Tortuga-excellent, Mediterraneo-excellent, La Gourmet-average.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Beautiful resort

New resort with in the last two years. Clean, modern and beautifully decorated. Staff were very attentive, courteous and respectful. Rooms were beautiful and clean. Pool area is in beaches were lovely. We only ate at the buffet as we were only there for three nights, Food was good but I wouldn’t say excellent although we didn’t eat at the other restaurants. Would definitely go back and stay there again.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Enjoyed Grand Bahia Principe Coba

This resort was terrific. It checked off everything I needed to enjoy myself on this week getaway at an all inclusive with family. Although large, it was easy to get around on the trolley system with some learning and repetition. The staff were very hospitable. The food was delicious and the variety was great. I'm big on seafood and was quite impressed with the offerings for the buffet and even more so in the a la carte restaurants. The drink selection was A+ The pools were [... read more] perfect. Beaches were ok, but this was not an issue for me. I would definitely consider going back. :) Regardless of resort, if you do stay somewhere in the Riviera Maya you owe it to yourself to visit some of the ancient Mayan cities (such as Coba, Tulum and the grand Chichen Itza)....they were truly jaw dropping!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Incredible experience

Extremely clean, great service, excellent food, friendly staff and guests. Very large, multiple pools, but easy to get around via golf carts. Many guests said they stayed at other resorts in Mexico and rated this as their favourite.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: A beautiful nature-filled location

We enjoyed our week at Sandos Caracol. There was a ton of wildlife (coatis, spider monkeys, iguanas, birds, and a few cats). Service was always friendly and helpful. Snorkelling in the onsite cenote was not super interesting, but it's a nice calm way to introduce snorkeling to kids. Just off the beach we saw many fish, crabs, and one ray. The service was friendly. Food was good overall. I really liked the Mediterranean and Italian restaurants. I thought the Japanese one was over-rated,  [... read more]but it's fun to see the food cooked right at your table. The buffets were decent. Our family all found something we liked for every meal. The current construction meant we had to always walk the long way around the resort from our building to the restaurants, pools, etc. This was a bit annoying, but not a real problem.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: We loved the Grand Sirenis!

We have been to a handful resorts on the Mayan Riviera side and this is the first one that we want to go back to NOW! The rooms, beach, resort, pretty much everything about this place is awesome especially the people! Every building has its own concierge and ours was Liz and she was so awesome. She really took care of us and treated us like family. Amazing service, especially Esperanca, a real sweetheart! The staff was very friendly and you can tell that they really liked working there. There are too many to mention but Guillermo, Fede, Federico and Sammi were amazing! We were there for Halloween and they decorated the resort and it looked really cool. It looked like the staff had their family there for the day and it gave it a real family oriented vibe that we loved. The snorkelling off the beach was so amazing! The fish were everywhere and we even swam with a stingray! So cool!You could get snorkelling gear and kayaks there everyday. Our room was beautifully decorated and always clean. It never had that musty or damp feeling like other resorts that we have been too. We saw the coolest wildlife from our balcony everyday like raccoons, birds, iguanas, coteis and even monkeys! I cannot say enough good things about this place. The lazy river was very relaxing! You will not be disappointed! The spa was very beautiful and reasonable for a couples massage and hydrotherapy. The dolphin exhibit was cool too! The disco was far and you needed to take a shuttle there but it was cool. The coffee shop was a nice treat every morning and the ice cream shop was cool every afternoon.The sky bar was an awesome place to go after we enjoyed the nightly show. I loved Grease, the circus show etc. It was all good and a lot of fun! We loved this place so much that I actually miss it and cannot wait to go back and we will go back! We are even interested in trying the Grand Sirenis in DR when it opens in December.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Third trip

Just got back from our third trip to Blue Bay. We absolutely loved it again and already booked for 2 weeks in February. We have absolutely no complaints other than we weren't there long enough. The large pool at the beach was under construction for some needed revamping. We look forward to seeing it finished when we return. All services were wonderful. Thanks again

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Amazing resort!

We really enjoyed our stay at VIM! The staff were attentive and friendly. They knew our names and referred to the resort as "our home". The food was very good and you will enjoy every restaurant experience. The ocean is beautiful turquoise colored water and angel fish come in with each swell.
