Grand Memories Varadero: Great Resort

Resort Could use a little TLC broken bathroom locks, allot of broken glass around grounds. more pool chairs & garbage bins needed Food was really good for Cuba😊 Entertainment was Awesome ! Staff Very Friendly⛱

Club Tropical: Great location

Location was great and a very pleasant helpful staff. Food was typical Cuba but many good restaurants close by if you wanted in walking distance .The grounds were kept tidy and the beach was only a few steps away from the rooms unlike some of the other resorts. Internet would be a great improvement for there as the closest is four streets away .

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great resort

Overall a great hotel ! People were friendly, food was good for Cuba and the rooms were great. Looking for a safe, family friendly hotel this is it. Just be aware that you are in Cuba so you will need to adjust your expectations. The one disappointing fact was that the resort and local banks were giving us 70 cents on the dollar. This was despite leaving Canada and the US dollar was at 77.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Does not live up the Iberostar Reputation

We booked this vacation with "eyes wide open" meaning we have been to Cuba on a couple other occasions and are well aware the standards of cuisine, amenities etc. are most likely not up to the standard of Mexico and other Caribbean islands, We enjoy the people and usually the beaches make up for what might be lacking elsewhere. We also understand that they do not have access to all other things that help make a resort a vacation oasis. Upon arrival at noon our room was understandably not  [... read more]ready and we were told it would be in about an hour. Finally, at 3 p.m. were were told it wouldn't be much longer. The room was spotless, however, in somewhat in a state of ill repair. The blackout draperies were half falling down, the vanity lights in bathroom didn't work, the dresser drawers did not close properly, the shower leaked on to the bathroom floor, sometimes our room door would not lock upon leaving, and the tv one evening slid off kilter on the wall while we were watching a program. We could live with all of this and even found some humour in it, even though the resort is only a couple of years old. The main thing we had great difficult tolerating was the shower - it was a handshower with a "rainhead shower, the rainhead was malfunctioning so it just poured in a steady stream, not a big deal, however, the water was either dangerously scalding hot or icy cold there was no adjustment.in temperature and it seem to be governed by the time of day. My husband skipped his shower a couple of days as it was unbearable and even after a few trips to the reception desk and customer service, a couple of visits by the plumber it remained that way through our entire stay! We were not the only guests affected by this. The pools were very nice, clean and large but the drink service at the pool was very sporadic, sometimes non existent. The beach was nice however the seaweed wasn't cleaned away and the maintenance of the beach left a little to be desired, there were cigarette butts everywhere. It felt a little tight under the palapas , you were very close to the next chairs. I will preface the next comment with the fact that we are not fussy eaters, we enjoy the cuisine and customs of whatever country we visit, however, even not having high expectations we did not really enjoy the food. Most of the time it was not labelled nor was it hot or particularly tasty. Breakfast was the best meal. We did enjoy the Asian specialty restaurant and the Steakhouse was good. Once again, our food was cold in the Italian restaurant and found the same in the 24 hour snack bar. It should be noted that although there is no smoking in the rooms, the lobby area is very smokey particularly in the evening. We understand that the resort is still trying to get out from under the damage caused by the last hurricane and we are sympathetic to that, however this resort doesn't live up to a 4.5 rating by any stretch of the imagination.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Excellent place as usual

Our visit to our second home could not be any better. As usual it was an excellent visit to our home away from home. Best part was being updated to a suite which was absolutely wonderful. It was like an apartment which we could have lived in. We absolutely can't wait foe our next trip back k to our family away from home. Each and everyone greets us with a smile and hugs wonderful. Let the year go by fast so we can return home.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Beautiful Resort

Beautiful Resort - not too big and plenty of staff for the guests. Lovely grounds and well kept. Staff very friendly and tried to give excellent service. Nice beach but not enough lounge chairs at beach or at the pool. Sometimes the food was cold and they use an excessive amount of salt to flavour the food. Selections like all resorts in Cuba need fine tuning. Became repetitive after a while. Many of the staff need to get a better handle on the English language. Some staff speak so loudly [... read more] from one floor to another or yelling across the floor to each other. Bar service was quite slow in the lobby bar. Rooms could do with a bit of refurbishing. Overall, I would return to this hotel.

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Great resort

We stayed at Cuatro Palmas resort from March 1-15, 2018. This is our fourth time at this location, we stayed across the street in the bungalows this year and loved it. We usually stay at the main hotel where the rooms are dated, however across the street is renovated, quiet and has a courtyard where you can have a relaxing breakfast. Once again the staff is the main attraction as they are warm and welcoming people offering great friendly service built on relationships. Special mention for Alberto, Javier, Mario, Duall, Fernando and the entire amazing team at Cuatro Palmas.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great group family vacation.

The pool bar staff make this good resort great. They make you feel like a VIP. The pool area was clean and tidy, the beach area was large and was well maintained. The food was typical for Cuba, a bit lacking in flavour, but always had the choice of fish, pork and chicken. The main buffet had lots of variety including cooked veggies, freshly made pizzas and a great salad bar. There was ketchup and peanut butter at breakfast with fresh bread but no whole wheat. We needed to call multiple times for the beer and water that was supposed to be stocked daily. We stayed in a family suite which was great. However, the door to the kid's room had some technical issues and would not lock. This took multiple calls to get fixed. A trusty wedge took care of the kid's safety. The entertainment was fantastic with obvious dance/ballet training. The nights were generally quite cool therefore recommending that you bring warm sweaters and pants. Would definitely recommend this resort!!

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: The Best of Cuba

All 17 of us enjoyed our stay at Scantuary Grand Memories and can’t wait to return back next year. The food was the best we ever had in Cuba. We were very surprised with the presentation of our dinners nightly. Every night there was a different menue based on a country! We had a variety of live entertainment every night in our bar lounge and by the pool side. I would differently rate this a 5 star for Adults. The Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Club Kawama: Club Kawama

My husband and I just got back from Cuba last week. We had a great time. The food was decent. It had some flavour!! The room had some mold due to the hurricane but they moved us as soon as we brought it to their attention. There was entertainment every afternoon and evenings. Muthu Playa Varadero: Good resort clean

Hotel is so so but beach was clean rooms are not good as used be before 4 years ago I was in the same resort no water supply in the no thermostat on air conditioners running countinousaly cockroach were on ground level room don't stay on floor level nobody provides proper information on reception you give tip then you proper service in restaurants I will not go there go to Cuba 5 star only

Melia Las Antillas: Amazing staff and resort

This hotel is an older resort with lots of charm. We stayed in a bungalow with a king bed and large sitting area. Bed was comfy, food was good, staff are helpful friendly and welcoming! Beach is heaven on earth!!!

Paradisus Varadero: Lovely Resort

This is our second time to this Resort. Check-in was very quick our room was very clean and very nice. The maid was awesome. The buffet is very repetitive, so it's the same every day. The staff are amazing. The grounds were very clean. The ala carte restaurants were okay the best was the Mexican. The bar staff were great and the drinks were quite good. Good food, beautiful beach and pools, great staff and great entertainment. The location of the resort was amazing. Will recommend this place to everyone who is looking to get away to a wonderful and dreamy place.

Starfish Varadero: Starfish Veradero

Staff were wonderful, even if overworked... Beach lovely. I wish this hotel and others in Veradero would stop using plastic cups. It would be better for guests to have to buy a cup while there and reuse that one. There are plastic take-out cups on the beach which means... cups in the ocean... Sad, especially when it is so unnecessary. Some folks bring a take out mug/cup for drinks, but not many. The resorts and Cuba need to take more of an environmental responsibility. To be clear, this is not a [... read more] "littering" issue, but an environmental one. Rooms were lovely, and grounds very well kept. Definitely worth the money and great to get away.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Amazing Place

Very good resort gave us an ocean view room it was my anniversary and food was good don't go to Lobby but near the snack bar there is a restaurant that gives breakfast and lunch which was awesome. If you are having issues with anything see the receptionist and they will fix it. Would go back again. Just got back Mar12 it was cold in the evening make sure take some pants and jacket. Entertainment team was very good. There was water show that was amazing and do the Safari trip you will love it.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Nice Resort

Our room was a little dated but the beach the pool the grounds were Incredible. We had so much fun. The only thing I wish they would change is Having the bars open past 11:00! It was very painful to have to go to the Disco to get a drink.

Gran Caribe Playa Caleta: My experience at this Hotel and First Time in Cuba

This Hotel Gran Caribe Playa Caleta. March 2nd 2018- March 9th 2018. I went down By Myself. Likes about the Hotel The Hotel Employees/People were amazing to me. Customer service give a 4 starts out of 5. If getting a ocean view room, try and get the 5th,6th,or 7th Floor. Shower and A/C and the Bar Fridge all worked wonderful in the Hotel. Beach and the Weather were awesome. Disco Club opens at 11PM. It was OK no different then going to one at home. Note: There are a lot of Russian people that visit this resort, I only speaking English found it hard to communicate even with my translator. DisLikes about this Hotel. Food, Got Sick for 3 Days. it is a 3 star resort like you are staying in a Motel on the side of the HWY. So don't expect best western, But just a place for me to lay my head. Not enough Daily activity to get the people involved. Games Dancing .Beach volleyball, water volleyball. WIF Only works in the Lobby and you pay 1 CUC peso for 1 Hour. *** If you are looking to Party in Varadero this Hotel is the 1 st one on the strip its the furthest away. I would recommend Starfish Las Palmas.**** Would I choose this Hotel again yes but only if the deal was too good to pass up. There are 2 Great Bars in Varadero That is Callie 362 and The Beatle Bar, Both Amazing and both close to the Star Fish Las Palmas, This Hotel is right across the street. On a Side Note the people are really great a suggestion, Bring down stuff even from the Dollar Store the Cuban people will love you for it. Reading Glasses, Make Up, Hair brushes, tooth brushes toothpaste, Soap Shampoo.

Melia Marina Varadero: 3.5 to 4 star

Nice time. Good entertainment, decent food, and rooms were nicer than expected. Had only a couple problems as my we had 2 rooms and the keys had to be exchanged every day as they would stop working. The worst part is that my legs were eaten alive!

Paradisus Varadero: Amazing resort!

We upgraded to the Family concierge section which included access to all the restaurants and Butler service. We had the most amazing Butler Irving who went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great experience in Cuba. His knowledge, experience and willingness to provide superior customer service made all the difference. Our room was clean and well appointed. The grounds were well kept and the beach was beautiful.
