Iberostar Coral Holguin: Very good value

We felt lucky to have landed at Coral Level Iberostar Holguin for 10 days. Staff members were top-notch. Rooms, pool and grounds were all lovely and well-maintained. Lounge chairs under shade were always available at the pool and the beach — no need to scurry out at crack of dawn to plunk down towels. Food is never the draw in Cuba, but here there was always lots of variety and fresh fruit, served by friendly, attentive staff. Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Love this resort

It is a older resort ,they just reopen on November 1 So it was only open half capacity,only one buffet and two à la carte were open ,we been going to this resort for about 14 years so to us it’s like going home

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: I will come back!

This is the first time I have traveled so I don't have anything to compare to, but I truly enjoyed the week we spent here. The staff was awesome. The food, although limited, was good. The beach was clean and ended up being my favorite place to be. We even explored some of Varadero, and spent two nights in Havana. Truly a trip I will never forget.

Melia Cayo Coco: Awesome

It was very clean including the beach, raked everyday and had a machine to pick up the weeds. The swimming pool could of been heated a bit. The food was great and the servers were good. The people at front desk were helpful with the wifi connection and fixed problems Staff took the time to make sure the washrooms were cleaned.

Roc Arenas Doradas: Cuban Delight

I have been traveling to this hotel for decades, and it has always met or exceeded my expectations. I have always found the staff helpful, and welcoming. They are slowly renovating some of their rooms, and you may get a dated one, but they are still clean and comfortable. The grounds are exceptional, and well kept. The front desk staff is friendly,and will help you with anything you need. There is a new GM, and he is always ready to have a chat and a smile. Valentin Perla Blanca: We had the best week!

Very friendly and relaxing atmosphere. The staff was amazing, very kind and attentive. The rooms and public areas were clean and as expected. Free wifi wasn't expected but was a nice bonus. The beach and pool were awesome, lots of different areas to explore each day (there are a few separate beaches and mini pools within one pool area). Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Beautiful Resort

This hotel is just reopening after covid so it is hard to review since they were doing a soft opening and only certain sections were operating..What they have done so far is great, the beach is very nice although there are a few rocks you need to stay clear of...drinks could use some improving and the grounds are very nice...What made my vacation fabulous was the wonderful staff and animation team...as there were not many guests, we got to know everyone there. Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Amazing Staff

I enjoyed everything about the resort. They did lose my suitcase for four days. The beach was beautiful and the food was pretty good. The best thing were the staff. Such wonderful people. Shout out to Udaine, Jerry and Cesar!

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Good resort, excellent beach!

Overall, the resort was very good. Food was absolutely delicious - do not go expecting burgers and fries, but there are whole foods, chicken, pork, lamb, fish, eggs, fruit, full salad bar, salad dressing…. Etc! Rooms were pretty dated, bathrooms weren’t cleaned very well, but the staff do the very best they can with what they’ve got. The beach is absolutely breathtaking. Grand Memories Holguin: Regret booking this resort!

Booking this resort I was told airport is 15 minutes away from the resort doesn't have any information on the sunwing website. When we arrived we were told 1 hour and 40 minutes directly to hotel. We have kids if I knew the drive was long I wouldn't have booked. The next problem was the floors for this resort was slippery! We kept falling on the floor. On Monday December 12th at 4pm I slipped on the tiles to the point I got a air line fractured on my right arm. Spoke to resort they didn't [... read more] do anything except cover medical fee for there doctor at the resort and they didn't resolve the situation. Nor did they follow up. Another problem was this resort was not sanitary I don't eat pork and everything was being mixed, less options in the resort mainly bacon, ham and cheese. Mini fridge didn't have no drinks, only 2 bottles of water and they would have shortage on water, toilet paper, drinks. We basically paid and didn't eat or drink. Day of departure our flight was delayed 1 hour and 50 minutes, bus ride was 1 hour and 50 minutes. Sunwing Representative didn't communicate properly with us on the delay and was rude. Airport did not have any food options other than ham and cheese and we were starving we waited for sunwing flight to serve food but they didn't have nothing but snacks. Terrible trip!

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: First Visit to Cuba

I stayed in a Privilege suite and found the room to be simple, clean & comfortable. Spent most of my time at the beach because the ocean was gorgeous for viewing & floating. Ate most of my meals at the Privilege restaurant. The food was better here than in the general buffet but still limited in variety but no complaints. The resort staff were ALL friendly and very helpful. Would definitely recommend this resort.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Well, not what we expected.

For starters, the resort changed hands 2 weeks prior to our arrival. No problem, at least it wasn't cancelled. We were a group of 13 and arrived at the hotel to a grand welcoming ceremony, we all thought that this was the most amazing welcome we have ever received at a resort. When looking around in the lobby/bar area, we noticed that not a guest was to be found. Wow, that's unusual, they must be arriving later. Nope, we were it! The hotel has approximately 742 rooms, there were a total  [... read more]of 29 guests at the hotel the week we were there. Within 30 minutes of arriving, we knew every guest at the resort. There was no buffet offered, every meal was at one of 2 a la carte restaurants, chicken, pork or beef were offered every night with a side of rice. That was it! Oh, pasta, fish and beef were offered twice. No other vegetables. There really were no options at the snack bar for breakfast (again, no buffet), lunch wasn't much better at the snack bar, but the pizza at the beach was fantastic. We didn't starve but it certainly wasn't a great experience. We ate quite a few times at the market, at least there were food options. The last day we were leaving at 1pm. There was only 1 egg available per guest and nothing for lunch. The staff kept saying pizza in 20 minutes, but pizza never came but the bus to the airport did. The resort is beautiful and the staff are wonderful but I can honestly say I would never return to this resort or any other Grand Mathu resort. Obviously management does not care one bit about their guests or staff. The poor staff were so embarrassed and I'm sure tired of saying 'no sorry, we don't have that'. To top it off, 4 of the rooms had bed bugs so it was a very itchy week for 6 guests.

Iberostar Origin Tainos: Loved it

Beautiful clean hotel, friendly staff, no shortages that we could see (despite dire warnings). Other than a few people wearing masks, there was no evidence of Covid. The single complaint we have was the insects. Couldn't see them until the itching started. Take a strong insect repellant and use it liberally.

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort

We just came back, had an amazing week from December 5 to 12. Wish to stay longer but… hopefully we will come back. Very clean and good looking room. Housekeeping service is fantastic. All public areas are in the good hands. Didn’t notice any shortages of food or drinks. Lobster night was great. Delicious bread and soup, plenty of fresh vegetables for salad and local fruit. Love everything you made for us.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Beautiful, clean, relaxing

Well what can I say, the place was better than we expected. It's our second time there and it got even better this time. It's very clean, the staff are very attentive, the food is great and the rooms are nice. Jenn makes it a breeze to book through TripCentral and she also helps with all the paperwork and insurance etc. Highly recommend this combination.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Varadero

beautiful beach and resort, too bad they do not know how to run run it properly, efficiently. The food selection, quality and service in the buffet was very poor every day. I would rate it max 2 star Many popular, famous drinks were not available the whole week.

The hotel should not be rated a 5 but a 3 at the most. The food was terrible and the same each lunch and supper. I didn't have a good drink or coffee the whole week. The hotel did nothing to protect us from covid' there wasn't even hand sanitizer to be seen. The buffet was totally self-serve and numerous times I saw people handle bread and then return it to the basket to be served, I once observed a customer tasting a fruit drink in a bottle and then return it to be served. I don't mind tipping for service but it got to the point at which the staff were expecting a tip for everything and every drink we received. If you didn't tip each time service was slow and sometimes not available at all. There were toilets at our 5 star hotel without seats on them which did not impress my wife at all. There were no soap in the soap dispensers and no paper towels to dry your hands. Overall we were very disappointed and would not return to Cuba if the trip was free.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Super friendly staff and wonderful service

Lovely grounds, great pool and close to the beach. Will be returning to Grand Memories the Sanctuary again in the future! We went for our honeymoon and the staff helped make it so special for us. We will never forget them.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Great hotel

Nice spacious rooms with most rooms offerimg ocean views. Very nicely laid out facilities with acess ro nice beach and good swimming. All on all very good value. Would not hesitate to go back. Based on what we saw it is the best hotel in the area

Club Kawama: Home away from home!

This was our 6th visit to Kawama. A bit different this time as the reception is under construction. The food was good and always plentiful. Enjoyed our daily Americana and Cappuccino at the café. We arrived late at night at the hotel and we’re not happy with our room. The situation was rectified the next day and we were moved to a better room. The A LA CARTE dinners we went to were fair. We once again met amazing people and were happy to see staff members we had met on previous trips. The repeaters dinner was amazing. One way for the hotel to recognize those who have come back to visit Kawama. I think it’s important to remember that this is not a 5 star hotel. It’s one of the oldest hotels in Varadero. You get what you pay for. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel this place is not for you. But we know what to expect and it works for us. Another lovely trip in the books. Can’t wait to plan our next one!
