Well Kept always - Staff always willing to help - food hot and plenty - Rooms could use a update - a very relaxing stay with plenty to see and do - a wee bit to far to go on any outings but a great place to relax and enjoy

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Great resort

Highly recommend. Buffet was awesome, something for everyone. A la carte restaurants are even better. The rooms are nicely kept and modern. Beach and grounds very nice. Stayed for 2 weeks and would do so again.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Beautiful Resort

We had such a great time at the Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal.The food at the Buffet and Al a Carte's was delicious.The staff go out of their way to make sure you are having a great time andt he grounds a beautiful and well managed.The great thing about staying at the Luxury Akumal is you can use all of the facilities at the Coba,Tulum and Sian Ka'an resorts which are also beautiful.You will not be dissapointed if you go.Can't wait to go back!

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Great resort!

Our family of 4 had a fabulous time at this resort. The kids were entertained all week long. Resort was well kept, rooms were clean, food was fantastic, and the staff were kind and always helpful. Great value! We would definately go back.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Not a 5 Star Resort

- Check-in at the 'VIP' lobby was over an hour long with only one staff working. Other guests in line had been waiting for several hours for their rooms and problems to be resolved. - Bath towels were not replenished on a daily basis - they took the used ones, but would not leave new ones. Had to request the towels each time. - Mini fridge and bottled water was not replenished on a daily basis as indicated. Again, had to request for more water and snacks. If you happen to be in the room when sta [... read more]ff were coming around with snacks, they would provide you with one snack size bag of chips (we were a family of 4). Had to ask for extras. - Stayed on the main floor and had beach towels and clothing hanging to dry on the balcony. Few days into our stay, our balcony was drenched with water (not by rain or sprinkler system) but by a gardening staff watering the grass. Approached front desk staff about this and they gave me excuses then said "I don't know....I need to check", no apology or desire to resolve the concern. - Wanted to get our daughter's hair braided at the Spa - took 3 days to find someone to book, each time, we were told to book at incorrect locations. - Morning yoga was advertised at the beach, headed out one morning to the area advertised, asked several staff to confirm. Walked along the entire stretch of the beach and it was no where to be found. When the gym staff was asked later that morning, they contacted the instructor who first said that there was no yoga, then called back to state that it was located by a theatre (no where close to the beach) with 12 participants. - Buffet was hit and miss - sat in the same area for the duration of our stay and half the time, we had to look for a server to take our drink order. Food was not replenished quickly. - Shuttles to different areas and sister hotel was a disaster. No signage or communication indicating which shuttle was going where nor were there set times. When asking staff, they were reluctant to help or give detailed information. - Tried to book the free resort activities, asked front desk staff, public relations staff and tour operators, all who advised of different information on booking process. - Nightly entertainment was not entertaining at all. Definitely not the 5 star resort we were hoping to have stayed at and don't think we would stay at this chain again.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Very wide-spread resort.

The hotel is "dated". We had booked two adjoining rooms as we were travelling with a 22 month old baby. Both rooms ran out of hot water a couple of times during our stay. The food at this resort, compared to that during our stay at the Bahia Principe in Runway Bay in Jamaica, was not as good.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Bahia Principe Sian Ka'an review

Was there 11 years ago, and the place still looks like new. People are continuously maintaining (not just repairing). All staff are friendly and helpful. The noise level at the quiet pool needs more control (there is an activity pool people can go to if they want to have noise). The private-use Sian Ka'an beach area is noisy, with resort activities. In context, we chose Sian Ka'an over the other 3 connected resorts for quiet (adults only). The food selection is very good, as is the quality. The  [... read more]bus from the airport takes a long time (45 minutes) before departing, plus the 1 hour 45 minutes trip, adds up to a long trip to get there. The announcer on the bus was somewhat painfull as he repeated his pitch numerout times on "only do excursions through the Company he represents, as all others are inferior". Overall, it is a high class resort I would recommend to friends and family.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Fantastic Holiday!

Last year we were at the Bahia Principe Punta Cana and this year we got a good deal to try out the Esmerelda portion of the same hotel. We enjoyed the entire trip: Food, Beach, Pool, Room and most of all, the Staff were excellent to us and our 10 year old son. Lots of food choice at the buffets, so we didn't try any theme restaurants. We also had no problem transferring to/from the hotel. My only suggestion would be to make sure you grab the air transat app on your smart device before you leave  [... read more]so you can be entertained while on their plane. We would definitely return to the same place, but two caveats: 1) The Bahia Principe is trying to sell you on their Privilige Club. That's fine - But you should not be put in a position while on your vacation to outlay so much money immediately. The selling process combines all the bad aspects of boiler room selling. Not good. If its that good they could email me before or after so I can make an informed financially prudent decision. 2) There is another resort they are building behind the Esmerelda. Concerned that there will be too many people crowding the beach (and chairs) in upcoming years.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Exceptional Resort

The Luxury Bahia was an exceptional resort with a few minor hiccups that didn't really bother us too much. The good....the rooms, the view if you were lucky enough like us to get the ocean side, the buffets were excellent, service was excellent, the bad...for Jamaica I found it hard to get a great cup of coffee and the majority of a la cartes were average but would we return...yes.....The ocean view rooms offer a breath taking view that is hard to beat!

Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Amazing resort!

Very cozy and friendly! Definitely will come back again. Amazing ocean view. Great personal. Very clean beach. Quiet and feel like in paradise. A lot of trips. It is better as in Bahia Principe Lavandada!

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Good Value

This Grand Bahia Príncipe Punta Cana is good value for your money. The grounds were kept immaculate, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the beach was well maintained and beautiful, and there was a wide variety of food to satisfy you at all times of the day. The only downfall is the size of the resort - the beach was crowded with chairs and the food is made in the masses. With that being said, this is not a five star resort so if you are expecting gourmet, North American food, modern rooms an [... read more]d a tranquil beach, pay the extra $500-$1000 and travel to a true five-star resort. This resort however, fulfilled our standards for the price we paid for a mid winter getaway. It was very comfortable and safe, and the staff was extremely friendly. The resort is large, but it is made easy to find your way around with the trolley system running every 5 minutes. We stayed Royal Golden which I highly recommend as it was a minute walk to the beach and pool. I would recommend this resort to people of all ages who are looking for a weeks vacation in the sun to take a break from Canadian winters!

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: wonderful result but disappointing ending

Our trip to the Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal was for the most part very enjoyable. The resort is beautifully appointed and will kept. It is clean, lush and people were willing to help make your stay enjoyable. There are a variety of pool types with some being smaller and quieter which we enjoyed. The food was very good with variety and many a la carte choices. It was an added feature that we could go to the two sister resorts but no one else could come to ours, which kept it less crowded. The sh [... read more]opping is limited. The activities were plentiful enough, although I would have like some watercraft choices on the resort. There are a variety of excursions. Unfortunately our trip was very negatively affected by a decision that the customer service manager made on the last full day of our stay. My husband had loosely agreed to attend a breakfast presentation offered by the “premier” guest service representative to learn about a new resort the same owner of the Bahia Principe Akumal is building in the Dominique. My husband explained that they could put us down but we would decide in the morning. The incentive was a gift for our daughter to swim with the dolphins at a reduced rate. We agreed they could call us at 7:50 am to confirm our participation. In the morning, we decided not to attend and had breakfast at the buffet. They saw us in the lobby that evening and asked if we would be coming tomorrow. My husband answered that we were going on excursions and would not. Despite this we received an unwanted wake up call from them at 7:50 asking if we were coming. We received a call the following day as well. I was frustrated because this is my only time to sleep in – on vacation – and I do not want to be sold to aggressively on holiday. I reported this to the supervisor on duty. They had me fill out a comment form and were appreciative for the feedback, which I delivered professionally. Later that day I was taking my daughter to the dolphin swim and decided to ask if we could receive a discount due to the fact that we had been woken up on two mornings of our vacation unnecessarily. They referred me to the customer service manager who had to investigate. A second manager I spoke with, when I followed up later that day again, suggested that perhaps I could have a discount at the lobby store because the dolphins were a separate company. I stated that would be fine but then did not hear back as promised. I followed up again and the first customer service manager told me that I would not be receiving any compensation because they had checked the phone records and I had not received any calls as described. With pause, I explained that I could not comment on their records, but assured them that I did indeed receive the calls. He went on to tell me again that I had not received the calls. I asked him if he was implying I was lying which he confirmed again that I had not received the calls. As tourism professional in Nova Scotia with international tourism colleagues around the world, questioning my integrity was not under any circumstance the right thing to do to any guests. This is a sure way to loose the customer for life. On my last full day I was left with the resort not interested in compensating for inappropriate disturbances but more importantly being called a liar. As a result we will not return to this resort and I will be contacting the owner to share my experience.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: All-inclusive resort (construction in progress)

This hotel is part of a 5 hotels complex, with beautiful grounds and several pools. The beach is less than 30 mins walk away from the main lobby. All the hotels are within walking distance of each others or you can take the trolley which run constantly until 3 am on the main road. The building is 3 stories high, without elevators. The buffet restaurant is large enough, there is no waiting for a table. It opens for 3 meals/day with a hour or two closed during the day. If you missed the breakfast, [... read more] there is coffee/juice and pastry in the lobby bar or you can eat in the restaurant near the beach. There are activities only in the morning or after 4pm (darts tournament, zumba/stretch class, ping pong, aqua aerobic). Between 8-10pm, there are evening entertainments. We enjoyed the Michael Jackson shows while we visited. We find the activities are not well-organized or the location may change at the last minute without notice. The reception or guest services can not provide any help in this regard. Free 1 hour Wi-Fi (in the lobby) is included in the basic all-inclusive package. Unlimited wi-fi can be purchased for $59 USD/week. Safety deposit box ($4 USD/day) is not included in the basic all-inclusive package. There are several smaller souvenirs stores within the complex, and a good size one close to the lobby for purchase of items you forgot to bring (sunblock, sunglasses, snacks, bathing suits, hat, beach cover-up). The prices you need to pay is significant higher, all items are priced at USD. ($24 USD for small bottle of sun block) The a la carte restaurants are good. You can order from the menu and enjoy the salad buffet with a variety of hot/cold items. You can book your reservation before your arrival. If you try to walk in without reservation, you will be turned away. There is a orientation session (from your Air transat/air can local rep) the day after your arrival. Be sure to attend to get the most of your stay. Pool near our building is of a good size, but not enough lounge chairs if you arrive after 10am. Same thing for the beach. Many people come early to leave their towels on the chairs, you will see many empty chairs with towels on them. Guest services/front desk is mostly very helpful, with the exception of few staff who cannot answer our questions. This was not a language issue, but rather a lack of willingness to look into the matter. The food in the buffet has enough selections. There is usually a line-up for cook to order eggs.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Nice resort.

Huge resort, clean with well kept grounds. Beach is fantastic. Any seaweed was raked up daily and taken away. There were plenty of huts on the beach that provided shade. Pool was very close to the water so you could easily take advantage of both. However, if you wanted an umbrella you would have to reserve your spot by 6 am! There were a variety of restaurants to choose from.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Best Punta Cana vacation yet!

This was my third stay in Punta Cana and I have to say I have never been happier. Staying at the Grand Bahia Principe Esmeralda was an extreme pleasure. The grounds were immaculate, the food was fantastic and the service was incomparable to any of the other resorts I had stayed in in Dominican, along with Cancun and Cuba. This is by far my favourite resort and I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to get away to Punta Cana. Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Worth checking it out. ..

Had a great week at the Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal. The other parts of the resort (Tulum and Coba) were pretty crowded because of March Break, but we never had any problems finding chairs by the pools or tables in the restaurants. We ate in 5 a la carted and the food was always great. Would love to go back!

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Great resort with just one concern

Hotel grounds were beautiful, food was great, service as great. Our kne concern was a moody/musty smell in our room. We should have asked for a different room. If you get room 2413 be prepared, don't put up with it. All our belongings smelled like it by the end of the week.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Amazing resort

We stayed for 8 nights at the Sian Kaan Bahia Principe Hotel. Our stay was magnificent. We had use of all 4 resorts. We loved both the a la carte's and buffet. The staff were outgoing, friendly and helpful. The resort was clean and well maintained. The only drawback is the 1 hour and 20 minute drive from the airport. Overall, I would recommend this to anybody who enjoys being pampered and enjoy luxury service at a reasonable price

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Overall Great week Long Vacation Destination

Absolutely no problems. Grounds were beautiful, people were very friendly to myself and children, lots of security in the evenings. All amenities were classy. Great food and clean resort. Lots of activities organized for kids and adults.

Pros. -Great food selection -Lots of Gluten free / Celiac choices -Friendly staff -Royal golden section conciger changed my room within 5 minute when I had an issue with my room (water flooded from a toilet) Cons -Gym could use some work (but who cares about working out on vacation?!) -Too many sales people on beach trying to sell junk (not a huge deal it is to be expected) -Some bars ran out of certain types of liquor randomly
