Melia Peninsula Varadero: Great Family Trip!

We had a great trip! We stayed in Block 15 centrally located. We requested adjoining rooms at booking, but did not get it, I would have liked if they tried harder. Our family tried to participant in many of the activities. They did not have the advertised Archery. When participating in Beach Volleyball, many of the guests were standing in the hot sun waiting for their turn - the staff had their own team - seriously - you have that many guests that want to play and you make them wait! Starfish Cayo Largo: Very good hotel in a great destination :-)

Only 5 minutes from the airport, this hotel is in a good location with a great beach. The staff was great and very friendly, we felt really welcomed :-) The food was good and the restaurant on the beach was great (especially the lobster - it was huge)

Melia Jardines del Rey: New resort - All good!

The resort is brand new and half was still under construction as of April 26th. The rooms were nicely appointed and our mini-fridge was re-stocked daily. The food was good and plentiful in the buffet each day. The staff was very friendly as most seemed to be learning their new jobs as well as English. Bring water shoes to enter the water at the beach. The pools were nice and the bartenders will fix you whatever you want.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Great time

Had a wonderful 11 days at the Melia Cayo Santa Maria. We signed up for the elegance club and was pleasantly surprised to see that we were handed our dinner reservations - NO line ups... we went to the Mediterranean, French and Japanese. The French was our favourite - the chateaubriand was the best! cooked perfectly and very tender. Our favourites were the bar staff at the beach. Really good sports. As for the beach, it's wonderful. The beach staff would be there every morning to clean off our beach chairs and make sure we had front row. This beach is very natural, sometimes a little difficult to walk but worth the effort. We would walk 2 hrs every day and never get bored. Just be aware that there is a naturalist beach with lots of nudity not too far away... that leaves a little to be desired, however, just keep walking its worth getting past them!

Melia Peninsula Varadero: I SURVIVED CUBA

The hotel rooms were above average and clean. The pool is well laid out, but too much music during the day. Good access to a fantastic beach - watch out for the Sand fleas. Friendly staff, that serve other Cubans first. Many smokers. Good Cappacino at the lobby bar, that makes up for the intolerable coffee. Who knew that you could not get fresh fruit in Cuba. Excellent place to go if you are looking to loose weight.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Had a great family vacation

We had a great vacation at the Melia Peninsula. Since we were travelling with a 11 month old, we chose this resort as it seemed very family friendly. There were alot of families and the staff were very nice with our daughter. Food was above our expectations ( it is Cuba after all) and the maintenance is lacking (again it's Cuba ) but the beach was great.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Decent Resort

Hotel grounds are very neat and organized. Rooms definitely need an update on the Mares side, especially the bathrooms. Food was excellent. Service was good but understaffed it seemed. Nightly entertainment was great!

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Nice resort.

The hotel itself was nice. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the resort easy to get around, pool nice and beach amazing. Staff were friendly. The food and drink however we not that great. There was no salad, buffet was the same everyday, the food tasteless and scary (the cooking practice was not always safe). Beer was fine and the mixed drinks were hit and miss.

Melia Las Americas: Amazing stay

Wonderful stay ,amazing food, beach,service .pool were clean,room big ,clean . A la carte it's excellent ,public area it's were nice . We're good location closes to airport . Staff friendly and helpful .. We com back to this place again ,

Melia Puerto Vallarta: Nice Resort, terrible food! We all got sick!

The grounds were nice. The food was terrible and lacked choice. My daughter was sick almost the entire trip from the food. The Dr said it was from contaminated food. I would never recommend this hotel or return!

Melia Las Antillas: Small resort, nice beach, but food poisoned.

The hotel grounds were very nice and very accessible. We had pool view which was nice as well. It was a small resort which I prefer. They have a shark under a bridge that you walk over to get to the main lobby which was interesting and different. Wasn't a lot of entertainment. No rocks on the beach what so ever either. The food was decent but we were so sick of it by the end we just wait bread. There is only one pool as well which sucks for me because I'm a pool person! The service was okay, I have had better that's for sure. All in all its a decent resort, I would go back if the price was right and would have to be careful about what I ate.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Great Vacation

Comfortable rooms, amazing pool area, convenient beach access. Decent service for the most part; one bad experience in one of the snack bars where after 1/2 hour of waiting, all we got were menus. We left. Very nice having a 15 minute shuttle ride between the resort and the airport!

Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: Amazing staff

This was our 3rd time in the Riviera Maya. We usually stay at bigger resorts in the Tulum area, but wanted to try something different. The airport transfer was nice and quick. The grounds were beautiful and we loved that we didn't have to walk far to get to anything. The small resort meant that we got to know the staff better. We loved Moises in the Market buffet. Breakfast will never be the same without him. Also Nancy's smiling face as she greeted us. We loved the food and location of the Blue [... read more] Water Grill. Mauricio was amazing. Ask him for a coconut mojito. The Preferred club was worth it. Having wi-if throughout the resort and our own private adult pool was lovely. Booking an ocean view room online doesn't seem to be an option. The resort was quite full while we were there, so we could upgrade at a price. There is a little bargaining room, but the upgrade price seemed high. That being said, we did splurge and were so happy we did. You truly are almost at the ocean. We used our balcony a lot. A few downsides....really expensive to get out of the resort. They should offer a shuttle to the highway to cut down on the taxi costs. They also concentrate on weddings. We saw 3 a day. In s small resort that is a lot. At night there wasn't any peaceful place to hang out, although they were shut down by 11:00. Lots of talk about the seaweed on the beach. They work so hard to get rid of it. The beaches further down are nicer. We did swim, but beach walking was a challenge.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Staff treated us like royalty

Our stay at Melia Caribe, D.R. was one of the best times of our lives. Was first trip to D.R. and far exceeded expectations. Everything was handled in a personal and caring way starting with excellent service from our travel agent. The resort staff treated us like royality.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Great Resort

The resort was beautiful. Our room was clean and spacious with a great view. All amenities were close to walk to. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the service overall was very good. Lots of good food to choose from at the buffet in the dining room and at the beach as well as at the other four restaurants. The snack bar near the adult pool was open very late which was great as we arrived at the resort past midnight and were able to have a bite to eat. We met several people who had returned back to this resort for several years in a row and we would also stay here again as well.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Great resort but not a 5* yet

Rooms - clean and spacious but basic Staff - courteous and helpful Food - lots of it but not gourmet. The French Bistro a la carte was by far the best Pool - absolutely gorgeous. Had to get up early to save seats. People leave towels on chairs all day and never sit there. Beach - stunning water, a little rocky in some parts

Melia Marina Varadero: Excellent Choice

High quality property combined with the flexibility of opting into the all-inclusive package make the Melia Marina Apartments an excellent alternative to the conventional all-inclusive format. With in suite cooking facilities, 5 restaurants on site and cash bar at the beach mean the client has ultimate flexibility. We opted for the all-inclusive option 2 out of the 6 days/7 nights and were off site or ate at the restaurants the rest of the trip. As a result we realized huge savings..

Melia Cayo Coco: Quiet Hotel

The hotel was nice and clean. I enjoyed the food in the buffet and loved the la carte. The night entertainment was not very good and they did not have a pool bar. This resort would be great for couples that want to have a quiet vacation with no partying

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Awesome Resort!

This was my husband and my first "all inclusive" resort trip, ever. I told our travelling companions that we should not have made the Melia Caribe our first getaway because it was everything and more then we could have imagined. The grounds were meticulous, food excellent, drinks amazing, beach - a dream come true, room beautiful, clean, and with an awesome view of beautiful gardens. Staff always very, very friendly and so helpful.
