Melia Marina Varadero: Resort is nice

Stay at place like this is excellent ; apartment is not worth 5 star need some renovation ; service is excellent : tv , I recommend more on English and more movie channels ; wi fi should be free like in Europe

Roc Arenas Doradas: Awesome resort and amazing workers!

This was my second time coming to arenas doradas for vacation. The beach was awesome, food was good, al a cartes were amazing (we were able to try all of them). The resort was clean and well kept. The chocolate ice cream by the pool was very refreshing and tasty. Yoly (customer service) treated us so well and made our vacation everything we could have asked for. Leo and Rosanna in the natura and Italian restaurant are really great people. Super friendly and kind. We did snorkelling right off the [... read more] resort as well as fishing with Danny where the catamarans are. This was a great experience and a good price. We caught 20+ fish! The resort also has a free shuttle that goes into town every few hours which is a nice option so you don't have to pay for a cab or double decker bus each time.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Great resort!

The hotel was very nice, clean, close to the beach. Friendly staff. There were a lot of beach huts, beach chairs etc. The only really issue I had was with the towel service. We were given 2 beach towels to use for our stay. Every time we went to the beach hut to replace our dirty beach towels with clean ones there weren't any clean ones available. It didn't matter if we showed up first thing in the morning or afternoon or later in the day there were never any clean towels available. We ende [... read more]d up using the original beach towels for our entire stay (5 days). When we have gone to other resorts the hotel never had a problem having clean beach towels available. It was frustrating and kind of gross having to keep using the same sandy beach towels over and over again.

Gran Caribe Sun Beach: A good resort

Before booking my stay here, I read a lot of bad reviews so I was nervous. However, I can honestly say me and my boyfriend had a great time. Of course there were cons but over all we had a lot of fun!

Resonance Blu Varadero: Returning Customer - 3 times

Hotel has gone down hill since our last visit 3 years ago. We picked this hotel again, because in the past we had a great experience here. This trip, we were put in a room close to the ocean, with a partial ocean view, which was nice, however we had no hot water for our entire visit, and our toilet did not work, and toilet paper was limited. We found the staff not near as friendly as they have been in the past, the entertainment was not as plentiful as in other years. The food was horrible,  [... read more] worst I have seen in all my 7 trips to Cuba. There was often only one serving spoon for several different items of food. People who have food allergies like myself can not eat as a result of this, I had to stick to bread and eggs. The resort itself needs a lot of repairs although we did see a lot of maintenance workers and ground workers out and about, however there are safety issues that need to be addressed before someone gets badly hurt. We will not be going back!

Gran Caribe Sun Beach: Great Resort

The location of Sun Beach is excellent. That is near downtown of Varaledo and the beach. The room and facilities are too old. only one elevator works for all visitors, and the towels were not changed every day.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Amazing does not cover how beautiful this place was

Everything was so grand , food was great . Maids did a terrific job keeping our rooms nice , hi 5 to Olga . There is nothing I can say about the place that wasn't good . Plans are to go back again . Cheers Morris & Edith

Starfish Jibacoa: good time

We enjoyed our stay. There was a lack in the variety of food. The lunch buffet had a great variety but the dinners were very repetitive. The salads were not replenished. Sometimes we did not get any because we were at the end of the line and everything was gone. Also to many utensils being used for the same thing. Just not enough available. The locals came in and took huge plates of food to the tables and wasted most of it and made a mess. This is something that I did not understand. They are supposed to be a poor country and this sort of thing is happening !!!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Loved the resort

Very clean, safe and fun environment to have a vacation. Staff was polite, and easy to communicate with. Activity staff were amazing. Food was ok. A little bland. The Japanese & Italian restaurant were excellent.

Grand Memories Varadero: So much to do!

We just got back from grand memories resort and we had an amazing time! The rooms, the staff, the food, the bars, the kids activities and entertainment were all great. The kids club sought us out regularly to make sure our kids were entertained. The 3 pools all had bars and entertainment and were enormous. The beach was a short walk across the resort and offered stunning views of the ocean. We will definitely be going back.

Unfortunately we were highly disappointed with out hotel experience the first night we had to change rooms since our washroom was covered with ants, two days later we had to change room again because the bathtub was leaking and we had water coming from the washroom to the rest of the room, a day later we had to change again since we had red ants in the room. Every time we called the from desk they couldn't do nothing to assist other than spray ray all over are room and belongings they had  [... read more]no solution other than change rooms. we asked to speak with a manager and the girl at the front desk called one of the cleaning guys to come talk to us she said he was the manager. The people working at the hotel had a terrible attitude and zero customer service. I will never recommend anyone to stay at Melia Marina Varadero and I regret wasting my money going there to be treated poorly and have a terrible stay.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Time to find a new resort!!

Over time this hotel has become VERY run down!! This is my 3rd and last time at Memories. The entire shower bar, head, plumbing had all fallen out of the wall, both sets of curtains were hanging off the rods and would not close. Huge wall / water damage patches in the bathroom, tub would not drain for a long time. Missing tiles around sink & tub. Towels old & strained. The small foot bridge to the beach has total fallen apart, nails sticking out, boards missing, no hand rail super dange [... read more]rous. The bathrooms by the Japanese restaurant and disco are DISGUSTING!!! Never any paper, men's and ladies toilets flooded and full, NO locks on the doors. The clock at the fountain square has never had the correct time in the past 7 yrs that I have been there. Lobby & main bar at 2:00 p.m. has NO ice, Mojitos served with WATER and not soda, mid evening no glasses to drink from, restaurant over the pool NO rum, mix at noon only beer left. What the hell? Guests are annoyed so they don't tip, staff are frustrated they don't have supplies and are getting no tips so crappy service does not make for a good holiday. No butter or margarine for toast in the a.m. when asked the young girl replied "no we're all out" it's 07:30 how can you be out of butter the restaurant only opened 30 mins ago? Asked an older male gentlemen who was happy to walk to the fridge & get some more. Again back to the poor service. Sunwing rep arrived 20 mins after bus arrived with guests for Diamond Club registration, 1/2 the guests in standard rooms had already checked in before rep showed up. No welcome drinks as advertised. Evening entertainment was very disappointing every night seemed to be the same artistic, tribal, jungle jumping around despite having a different theme. People were always walking out or falling asleep. The pool show & Michael Jackson were good. Lots of broken concrete on the foot paths and NO lights for rooms near the beach, very dark and hazardous due to all the broken tiles, bricks, etc. Carts are few & don't come around often. Be prepared to walk A LOT! Quiet pool is not so quiet lots of kids and noise. It would be nice to see them go down to the main pool so others could enjoy a more peaceful environment. On a positive note the day time Entertainment team is a hoot and always engaging people to do things. Main pool is always a buzz of activity, laughs, water polo, games and good times. Thank you Vettie, Caesar, Yenny and Denis it was great to see familiar faces. OUTSTANDING service and ladies at the bar going to the beach connected to the restaurant. Always pleasant, cheerful and make the best drinks at the resort!! Yarndis is a lovely lady and always smiling despite the lack of supplies; coffee first thing in the a.m., rum & ice mid day. Main restaurant the fruit lady Jeannette is always smiling, cheerful and happy to please her guests. Peachie the omelet lady is also another outstanding employee. The staff in the Diamond Club could use some training had to ask for coffee & juice 3x before we received any. Japanese restaurant was very good, fresh, filling and tasty. Cuban Day on the beach was great, good food and entertainment. Could use more chairs & table on these days for people to sit.

Melia Marina Varadero: Good Resort

The hotel needs a lot of maintenance - - very small issues that could easily be resolved are just left unattended. Broken door handles, paint chipping, bulbs missing, shower heads need cleaning, water pressure very low. When asked to address issues in our room, they were dealt with immediately, promptly and certainly to our satisfaction, but we should not have to ask to have these issues corrected, they should be done routinely to avoid any problems for the visitors.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Very happy with this resort.

This resort lived up to my expectations. The grounds were kept in good condition, room was fair, food was good and the staff were great. The "Gourmet" a la carte was our favorite. Great resort for relaxing.

Paradisus Varadero: Nice resort

While I don't think it's a five star resort or one of Paradisus best resorts we had a nice time. We stayed on the family concierge side and glad we did. The majority of the staff are so nice, some of them could use some work . I gave Melia a comment card and they responded right away. We did not have any major issues other than some fine tuning they could do. The best restaurant was Bana - the others were just "ok". You certainly won't go hungry but I wouldn't rave. If I were going to pick two major frustrations: the lack of garbage and recycle bins- perhaps if they had more the clientele would be more likely to dispose of their own cups. Clean beach towels were near impossible to get- the staff would tell you "to maybe come back the next day" I would still say that this resort is one of the nicest ones in Varadero compared to others we have seen there. Starfish Jibacoa: 3rd time at this resort.

Id LOVE to give a bad review so all you readers dont over crowd the best resort in all of cuba. Our 7th time in cuba. 3rd at villas jibacoa. We will not go anywhere else.Friendliest staff. Very accomadating to your off resort desires. And best of all. Snorkel alll day right off the beach. That said though if you like long white sandy beaches. And 5 star dining. Go to veradero.

Los Delfines: wonderful hotel

Here you will find everything you need to make your own! The hotel was very clean. Biorkys has been working for a long time! The room was wonderfully clean. Comfortable bed, spacious room, nice balcony view. The pool is clean and the beach is gigantic. It is cleaned every day. There are plenty of sunbeds and sun beds. Food is good, delicious. Simply perfect! I loved! I'll be back soon!!!

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Cuba Stay

The resort is as expected, quaint and a bit older. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable. Food: average Beach: amazing - beautiful beaches, and amazing aqua blue water Trip was decent up until Wednesday - both my husband and I got extremely sick at the exact same time, which ruined the rest of the days there. Thursday spent in bed, and Friday barely able to be outside too. Saturday we flew home. To be honest, the way the grilled meat was cooked was concerning. They used tongs to  [... read more]pull raw meat out of a bin. Those same tongs were used to flip the chicken on the grill, then put directly back into the raw meat. Then again pulled from raw meat to put chicken on plate. That was the same night we both got violently ill. I feel it likely played the biggest role in us getting so sick.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Would Not Change Anything!!!

First I would like to thank Teresa Gates at tripcentral for being very professional and recommending the perfect resort for me and my fiancé. This was not my first time to Cuba and like always the Cuban people were very inviting. From the day that booked our trip over the phone with Teresa, till the day we landed back in Canada after our trip EVERYTHING ran smoothly. I honestly would not change anything about the resort or experience we had while booking or on vacation. Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Awesome couples resort

Arrived only a few short months after the big hurricane. Very surprised at how quickly they have recovered from that major disaster. The daily entertainment was well beyond expectation. There is ample types of food that most would be able to find something enjoyable - except french fries. No french fries anywhere during the entire week. But more tequila & rum then any university gang could handle . . . Excellent expresso everywhere.
