Melia Las Americas: Loved every minute!

The level bungalow and all amenities were amazing. The beach and seating are spectacular. The meals were wonderful and drinks a plenty. Had a great excursion in a classic car to Havana. Loved the Beatles bar in Varadero. Meals in town were limited. Loved the entertainment at the resort in the evenings. Cannot wait to return.

Hotel Los Cactus: Amazing trip, definitely returning! Most friendly staff

Absolutely beautiful resort property, gorgeous plants, trees etc. Gardeners work hard to keep it nice! Hotel getting upgrades currently which hopefully update more. Rooms are comfortable, staff is the BEST! Of 3 resorts I've been to, this one I keep going back. Food was better than average Cuban. Definitely repeat foods but so much variety there's always more than enough. If you're traveling for the food, you may want to pass, but the beauty, the beach and staff are just the best!!

Iberostar Selection Holguin: Bring your own toilet paper

With a 5 star rating, the Iberostar name behind it and a trip advisor travellers choice award, we thought we couldn’t go wrong. 4th trip to Cuba. Service non-existent. Food undercooked and repetitive. Unable to make most drinks. No toilet paper in public areas!!!

Melia Peninsula Varadero: It was a nice resort

I found this place nice and the staff were friendly. The room was not in great shape and needed some repairs. The towels were not changed for five days. Some plugs did not work. The other areas were nice.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Beautiful beaches

My husband and I just stayed a week at this hotel, Overall we were happy with everything and had a great time. The staff are great at this resort ! The food was typical Cuban resort food. They do have a lunch time pizza restaurant that is so so so good ! The beach is beautiful but lots of shells, if you walk down a little to the resort next door it’s beautiful soft sand to get in and out of the ocean. We switched our Canadian $ to Cuban currency and we found this wasn’t the best idea. Th [... read more]e local bus only takes Canadian. All the venders at the market want Canadian. The bowling Allie on the resort was $5 Canadian … and so on. Our biggest complaint is the lack of music during the day. It was so quiet ! They only played music at the beach for about an hour around noon and then at the pool from 3-5. Everyone we met was on the same page, that we were looking for somewhere to congratulate , socialize and listen to good Caribbean music.! Other then that we really enjoyed this hotel. We love Cuba and their beautiful people.

Sol Palmeras: Amazing Resort, awesome staff

Fantastic Holiday, no complaints about food, staff or accommodation. Cuba is experiencing food shortages like everywhere else, but they still maintained an excellent selection and the food was great for Cuba. One very important note, the Cuban pesos are completely devalued and are no good to Cuban's. They offer good deals to exchange your money for their pesos, but you can't actually spend them anywhere. Bring cash and don't exchange it! We ran out of cash and I was going to withdraw some from a [... read more]n ATM to get a ride in an old chevy, glad I enquired before I did, because they just won't accept their currency and need ours to purchase even their own groceries!

Memories Trinidad Del Mar: Beautiful Resort

We totally enjoyed our stay at Memories Trinidad Hotel. Staff were helpful even if you can't speak Spanish. Rooms were spotless, and effectively cleaned everyday. Plenty of bars, coffee bars and after hour snack bars available. Grounds were updated and well maintained..and well lite at nite. Dining was always a pleasure, greeted with lots of smiles. All staff wore masks, and every station for there was an attendant that served the food you requested onto your plate. (not everyon [... read more]e handling the spoons or touching the food yourself) waiters and waitress were there to bring whatever you requested. Excellent service..and tips are always welcomed. They preferred Canadian or Euros, and any small donation was always appreciated. Except coins. They are hard workers, and dedicated to please all who were visitors to their country. They have a few pools, hot tub, spas..and a beautiful beach with chairs and towels provided, and a bar cabana steps away. What else can you ask for beach, blue skies and beer. Now that's a vacation. They also have taxi and busses that go into town, Trinidad an old cobblestone city over 500 years old. Something to see only 12 klm away. We loved it there, and have no reservation to go back again in the new year...loved it.

Memories Trinidad Del Mar: Good Resort

This is a good resort at the price point. The beach was excellent, approximately 2 to 3 klm long, beige sand and mostly empty. The staff were friendly and service was generally good. Staff with Hola Tours and Sunwing were always on site and would assist you regardless of which company you booked with. Everything I required was available at the resort. With tourism re-opening the resort was spending a lot of time and effort to update the resort, but no construction noise. The food was acceptable. I see many reviews that are critical of the food in Cuba. The food is not as good as it is in Europe or some higher priced beach destinations, but at this price point the food was acceptable. The one critical item I have is the bus ride from Santa Clara airport, almost 3 hours avoiding lots of potholes and lots of slower traffic. This to travel about 115 klm. Hopefully once the other resorts re-open and the new resort is completed there will be sufficient volume to warrant a flight into Cienfuegos or better yet Trinidad (needs a runway about 1,000 ft longer).

Starfish Jibacoa: Beautiful reef and beaches and scenery

This was my second visit to this resort. Enjoyed my vacation. The food was better than my last visit. Lots of fruit and veggies. It's typical cuban resort foods. Plenty of rice and bean dishes, great breads, lots of meat choices, interesting desserts. There was no butter available. The meat cuts were odd, often gristle and bones with the meat but tasty. Melia Internacional: Melia International - Don't Go!

Having been to Cuba 14 times, we had very low expectations provided the current economic situation. We DID expect Good Customer Service as the Cubans are some of the most amazing people. To our disappointment this resort was far from Hospitable, or Happy! Upon arrival we were not welcomed like our usual past trips to Cuba. No smiles, no drinks, no warm welcome. Went to reception asked to be moved, they wanted $41 per night??? No thanks! Asked for Beer and pop for our room, they said they do not stock the room? That was not true. We waited until the next morning to speak to our West Jet Rep who in turn got us moved in a matter of minutes (5 doors down from our first room) Not a very big move, but enough to see the pool and beach (why did we have to fight for this?) By doing this we missed the breakfast AND lunch buffet, so off to town we go to find food. So, we moved rooms, and were also given two beer and two pop each day (had to fight for that) Seems like everything you would expect from a 5 star resort was not met, nor was even tried to be met. The customer service was just lacking soooo much. No Hola's or happy faces on this resort Resort: Dirty. Impersonal. No Cuba Vibe. Little in entertainment except the lobby bar music. There was broken wine glasses on our floor next to the elevator for 2 days. We asked 5 times to have it cleaned up before someone got hurt. To no avail. My husband paid a peso to borrow the broom and clean it himself. Ohhhh, and Peso's, they do not take pesos on the resort, or many places off resort. They do take CANADIAN! (Wish we had known that) The bus ride to resorts promotes changing your money to pesos, but they do not tell you they are not good! So if you are Canadian, bring your Canadian Money Food: Breakfast buffett was a miss. Lunch and Supper Buffet was ok but no fries and no pasta, and one BIG problem, the breakfast buffet closes at 10am! and the lunch doesn't start until 1:30. So 3 hours with no food (except the snack bar that had a hot dog) Needless to say we spent every day in town for food. A La Carte - ok. Not much flavour, and a lot of salt, but there was pasta We do understand Cuba is suffering economically right now, but to pay top dollar for this resort and to be treated the way we were was uncalled for. We visit Cuba for the freedom, the culture and the people. The beaches are beautiful and we rented scooters a couple of days to get off the resort. With the pandemic and other issues, I would wait another while before visiting again. They are just getting the tourism back on track, so maybe give it some time. There was no beer or pop off the resort and not a lot of options to eat, but we always live Kiki's pizza which is always a hit. Also the Pizza at the Yacht Club was delicious. Steak house was also good, but again limited options most places. On a positive note: Beaches are best in the world! Culture off the resort was same Cuba. AND good rum! Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Best resort in Cuba

Everything is kept spotless, the buffet is completely redone, the staff are all very nice and hard working and the beach is the best in the Caribbean with a combination of palapas, palm and almond trees so there is always shade if you like.

Hotel Blau Las Morlas Varadero Beach: very nice experience

Warm staff, nice and family-style environment, food exceed our expectations especially when knowing that Cuba local people are suffering under insufficiency of food in their daily life. Rooms are a little bit old, but views are excellent!

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Amazing resort

Property and beaches are absolutely beautiful. Rooms needs to be renovated. Food is ok, but not enough fruits. Staff are very friendly and hard working. Entertainment is poor. I would suggest to start the evening show at 9:00 pm. Overall my friends and myself had a great time and I would recommend this resort to other.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Standard Quiet Resort

I would say that this is a standard resort on a much smaller scale. This is also a quiet resort that caters more to older adults. So definitely not for the party animals. No disco! The resort grounds, facilities and room are okay. The food situation in this resort is very unfortunate. Options are very very very limited. This probably is the result of the shortage/crisis. Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: I would recommend this resort!

Rooms are clean and the resort is clean and well maintained. You are never hungry. Recommend the Japanese restaurant and the Cuban as well. Super amazing staff always there to help with a big smile! Bar staff was entertaining. Lobby was a great place to join up to meet with a group. Champagne night to light the Christmas tree was fun.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful beach

The food has really improved since I was in Cuba last. The staff are either super friendly or super grumpy. Our room attendant was amazing thank you Yetty. There were a lot of shortages including toilet paper and alcohol that wasn’t rum. I had a wonderful massage at a very good rate. The beach was stunning with a nice beach bar where you could actually get something other than rum. One major complaint was they fogged our room for the cockroaches with a gas powered machine. Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Best beach ever

I really liked the resort, staff and accommodations, but the beach was the best, allowing long walks both sides of the resort... People are usually complaining about the food in Cuba, not here, I only went to the buffet, no need to book reservations for a la carte restaurants... Entertainment was great, adjusted to the tourists' requests... My room was nice and clean, didn't spend much time there, only to sleep and shower... Melia Las Americas: Just Ok

The resort is ok, not worth 2k per person when you can get so much more in DR & Mexico for the same price. They lacked fruit, vegetables and mixes for most booze. Do not go until the figure out the golf cart/maintenance situation. A group of 48 golfers will not be back (not my group). Cuba is taken advantage of their loyal vacationers and offering little in return.

Melia Las Americas: Good and comfortable resort

Good resort, I would like to see improvements in the rooms, when I pre-requested a room with a view and a king size bed the hotel staff said they would change rooms everyday at 3pm for four straight days. This to me was not acceptable. The al a carte restaurants were lacking for a five star there was only three choices and I found they served the same food found in the buffets.
