Iberostar Selection Varadero: Nice resort

We can to Cuba for a mother daughter beach holiday and the beach was everything we expected and more. So beautiful! The hotel was also as expected. A five star in Cuba is not really a five star but was fine. The food also lives up, or down, to expectations. You don't go there for the food

Club Tropical: Great Resort

I stayed here with my 2 children the last week of February 2018, I stayed on the second floor. Everyone was nice, helpful and the hotel, beach & pool were very clean! If i needed the tv remote or the extra towels there was no delay in getting them for me. I would recommend this hotel :) Though there is no elevator for those who need one, just an FYI :)

Muthu Playa Varadero: Beautiful

Everything was nice , except the bus . We landed and then bus came . I found the first step very high and I slipped on it getting up and so I tried again and hit my right leg again . Put 2 cuts on my leg . Some nice guy tried to help me and I eventually I did get on bus . I was in pain the whole time i was in Cuba. I went to hotel nurse . I had travel insurance on but was no good to me . I suffered it out . I talked to sun flight guy to ask for a different bus to go home in to the airport but [... read more] they said all bues was the same . I ended up getting a taxi which costed me $30.00 in cuba money to get to airport . . I went to Dr here at home and he wants me to go to hospital and have exray and ultrasound. Also antibiotics for infection . While I was there I was scared to go swimming . That ruined my trip . Everything else was fine

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Great holiday experience!

As a newly opened resort, Iberostar Bella Vista was modern, clean and well designed. The beach was spectacular and the water sports were very accessible. The a la carte restaurants were all enjoyed and easy to book into. The Caracola cafe was a great spot for breakfast and lunch as it provided the chance to eat outdoors. Barbecues at lunch were appreciated. Evening shows were very professional and entertaining. Cappuccinos from the bar and cafe were a morning must. Melia Las Americas: Excellent resort!

Had a wonderful time at this resort. The main things we loved: amount of shade and not fighting for beach chairs, the close proximity to the airport and Varadero, friendly staff and an amazing golf course! We didn't love the food, but it was definitely better than most resorts we've visited in Cuba. We also wished there was more of a lively scene after 11pm, as we were a younger couple. Overall, it was a great experience!

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Resort in desperate need of update

The hotel is much older than i expected and the lack of maintenance is showing all over the resort. Our room had been renovated but there was paint everywhere. The resort was full of dangers for young kids if i was traveling with young kids i would have been very worried. On the bright side the food was very good for a cuban resort Beach was good, service was generally good but this is not a 5* resort

Club Kawama: The grounds were beautiful

The resort was dated rooms were not very clean awful smell in the room towels in room were not clean never changed the sheets floors were not cleaned very noisy staff at main desk were not very helpful

Muthu Playa Varadero: Good Resort

Would be a good resort with some scrubbing & painting, needs TLC. Beach is beautiful, lots of chairs, nice pool but no shade, rooms are a good size but not very clean, floor wasn't washed the whole week & had issued with getting clean towels, patio door really hard to open & never cleaned, too bad because they are nice spacious patios, service elsewhere at the resort front desk, restaurants, lobby bar was excellent. Food in cafeteria was quite good except for the coffee.

Brisas Del Caribe: Amazing resort

Only been back 2 days and wish we could have stayed even 2 more weeks. My 2 grand daughters loved it, 13-15. The staff was great!! Food was good. Music and entertainment was awesome!! Our maid treated us like family!!

Gran Caribe Sun Beach: Ok

You get what you paid for. Can find a very good deal on this hotel. If all you need is sun and beach it is a perfect place to go. Re everything else, do not expect much. Cockroaches in the room, there was water outage once which was fixed in a few hours, not enough glasses, forks in the dining room, the food was ok, not much variety though, no bottled water provided in the room but can be purchased at the hotel 2 bottles of 0.5 l each for 1 CUC. I would go again if I get a deal even better than I got when I went there for the first time.

Villa Tortuga: Great vacation

We went to villa tortuga for spring break with our daughter.We had a great time.The beach was beautiful,the staff was very friendly the buffet was always full of fresh fruit and vegetables and grilling everyday.The grounds were well kept.The only thing is we didn’t get fresh towels in our room everyday but we didn’t mind.Our beds were super confortable and clean.We would go back!!

Room - small but clean Food - pleasantly surprised at quality, excellent just like home Store and boutique - good selection and reasonable prices Beach - beautiful Location - excellent Only cons - make it easier to replace beach towels and need to add palaplas on beach

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Great place!

My boyfriend and I just got back from this resort on Wednesday. We were pretty happy with it. It’s beautiful and the weather was great like all resorts there were things we didn’t like so much but we absolutely would reccomend this hote and we would return !

Playa Vista Azul: Infinite Pool !!!

Loved: - Our room/location of the hotel (close to the pirate cave for parties, and the city centre) - The grounds were well maintained and the resort was not too big - Beaches (small beach and big beach both beautiful, plenty of chairs, activities mostly on the bigger beach which was a bit of a walk but well worth it cuz of free snorkelling, paddle boating, kayaking etc.) - The infinite pool was honestly breathe taking, and surprisingly not too congested with swimmers (...amazing spot to ta [... read more]ke pictures!) Did not love: - The food both in the buffet and a la carte dinners (no seasoning, cold, over cooked etc.) snack bar food was great though! - Drinks (stuck to my lemonade with vodka cuz the sex on the beach at this resort was too bitter, and the pina coladas tasted like powder mix more than I liked it to) - A la carte experience in general was a headache (no reservations unless you pay for premium package) and the restaurants (especially the good ones) were always full quickly Recommendation: - Catamaran (Cayo Blanco Plus): 8 hours of boating, snorkling in the middle of the ocean, interacting with dolphins, lunch and free time at Cayo Blanco beach and more partying on the boat all the way to shore - Cuevos Los Pirates (Pirate Cave): 10 CUC to get in, party gets going around midnight, reasonably priced drinks, amazing show at 11pm-ish (better than the ones on resort) - Double decker busses: $5 CUC for a day pass, bus travels to the city centre of Varadero where the markets, restaurants, medical centre and banks are located

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Beautiful Resort

Very nice newer resort. Beautiful beach, nice people. Appeared they were short staffed to take care of the large number of people. Hot or even warm water for a shower was only available early morning or late night. Beach towels were in short supply, we were successful changing ours only once during the week's stay. I would have appreciated the buffet food being labelled so you knew what you were eating.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Cuba Virgin no more

After being warned about Cuban food and resorts being run down, I was impressed. The food was edible and changed daily but there's some things that stayed the same. Staff was always friendly. We had hot water everyday, no matter what time we showered. Rooms were clean. The beach was beautiful...though people have a tendency to go down in the early morning to throw towels on chairs under the palapas, and leave them there all day whether using them or not. Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Very Pleased with Resort Overall

First time in Cuba and was pleasantly surprised with our hotel, the beach/pools, the service and the food. We have vacationed many times in Mexico and have found the food wonderful at the all-inclusives there, so we were hesitant to try Cuba with all the reviews complaining about food. The beef in Cuba and in Mexico is not the same as home so we chose to eat seafood, chicken and pork instead. I was worried about lack of fresh vegetables and fruit as those are my favorites. It was plentiful so  [... read more]I was happy. There were many dishes that needed added salt and pepper, but all you have to do is sprinkle it on. If you need extra spice, they supplied bottled hot sauces for spicing it up to your taste. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the entertainment. Dinner in French Restaurant was very nice although I heard one couple who order something off the menu that they did not enjoy. We ate at the Gran Terrazo Buffet for all other meals. We loved the variety and could always find something that was delicious. I would suggest you choose eggs, pancakes and meat that are grilled in front of you to make sure, it is still hot. My favorite lunch was pork with handmade marmalade (since no applesauce) with various vegetables and fruit. One thing that was a problem but eventually solved was that the hotel did not have a converter available to allow us to plug in to charge our laptop/phones for the first three days. The built-in 110 V eletrical plug in the hairblower was not working. Learned a lesson - Bring your own; they do not have enough converters to supply everyone. We were able to borrow one from our neighbour so it was not a disaster. Another negative was that Wifi was only available in the lobby and a patio bar so was quite inconvenient. So if you need to do business during your vacation, be prepared to be back and forth to wifi zone.

Sol Varadero Beach: Amazing

This was my first time staying at this particular resort although I have been to Varadero many times What I liked best was its proximity to the town of Varadero Just a twenty minute walk away also for the car enthusiast there was plenty of antique cars to admire without having to go to Havana The resort was spread out it didn't seem crowded and the food was the best I've tasted in Cuba

Los Delfines: Nice place!

Resort was right on the beach and well kept. Food was good. Service was good. Nothing was ever overcrowded. Did not notice anything that other people disliked. Toilet paper was always stocked in the room. Food was not bland. Staff were very friendly and prompt with service. Plenty of space on the beaches.

Starfish Varadero: Good value

Pros: All staff were kind, helpful and pleasant; there is no limit to the number of times guests can dine at the a la carte restaurants; entertainment staff were consistently energetic and enjoyable; lobby is beautiful; cappuccino and lattes from Lobby Bar in mornings amazing; bungalows offer privacy and close proximity to both beach and pool; beach area unbelievably beautiful; various free water sports offered; free bottle of water left in room each day; beach snack bar was excellent for lunch; [... read more] excellent beer and pina coladas. Cons: Rooms need renovations, they are old and furniture is falling apart, beds are uncomfortable- one of ours had a broken spring that made it unusable, showers sprayed water all over the bathroom, bidet was unusable and our toilet needed to be fixed daily; the grounds could use some work - what used to be a canal is now left empty and without water, grass is dead, tennis courts in disarray.
