Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Awsone resort

Everything and everyone was very nice accomidatng. I have zero complaints. Will return agai everything was clean.. staff were wonderful.. Food was good. If your expecting gourmet food you won't get it.. it's cuba and there food is bought in... So if your going for the food don't. Lol I didn't starve the was lots to eat...

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Loved it!

I loved the Memories Flamenco, thank you Jean Arsenault for pointing me there! I have been to several hotels in Cuba, and this is the best! Staff were great and it is small, so it is not really far to get from your room to everything else. The ocean is protected, and the sand is so white! My room looked onto unspoiled mangroves and there were tons of birds. I plan to go back. One word of advice, don't cahnge your money. They appreciate canadian and american money.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Wonderful and relaxing vacation

Visited from Nov. 13 – 27. Don’t know where to begin to describe this lovely resort. We just loved everything about it! Beach – beautiful and sandy, second to none, with more-than-enough comfortable lounging chairs. Pool: Clear and huge. Although it looked so inviting, we still prefer the ocean to any pool. Hotel facilities: Well-appointed, easy to get around. Rooms are big, kept clean, and everything is in good working order. Also enjoyed the numerous decadent desserts, from cakes, to croissants, to Danishes, to ice cream, etc. Loved as well the roasted piglet on Cuban Day. Our hats off to Sergio, who is responsible for Food Services and is doing a super job, along with his fantastic chef and their staff. Cafeteria personnel spoiled us with their friendly and efficient service. Special thanks to Adianez, Dreidy, Diainnery, Gelen, Lianna, Lisandra, Evelyn, Jack (just to mention a few, as we cannot recall all your names). Bars: very good and quick service. Loved the Spanish coffee. Landscaping: a delight to behold. It’s like walking in a botanical garden. There are so many plants and flowers to admire. Gardeners are doing a fine job. Once again, a sincere “Thank you” to ALL you wonderful people: waiters, waitresses, cooks, bartenders, cleaners, gardeners, etc. Your hospitality goes above and beyond, making our stay at your resort a happy and memorable experience. Would we return? Definitely! The sooner, the better- God willing.

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Great Vacation

The Hotel was very nice and not to big. The only negative thing i would is we were in Building 11 and all the even number rooms faced a septic run off and we could not open our door on nice breezy days The Food was very good and this was our 10th trip to Cuba

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Relaxing resort

The grounds, pools and rooms were very nicely kept. The service was excellent. The food was terrible but that is out of your control. There wasn't enough activity to keep it lively so very boring especially after sundown. The beach was sensational.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Exceptional

Great time at Royalton Hicacos. Friendly staff, lots to do, fantastic beach facilities. Loved the jazz bar and variety of shows they brought every night - especially opera night. Had so much fun. Will go again ASAP.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Had a great time but

The rooms were not really up to par. They didn’t change our sheets all week and the first 2 days we had to wait for towels. When we got them it was the rest of the week we did not get any new ones. Under the bed was a water bottle there the whole week. I never seen anyone use disinfectant the whole time there and I caught a cold as well as 3 other people in our 10 person group. Food was repetitive and bland but pool and amenities were okay. People are very friendly and love Canadians.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Memories Flamenco

Our stay at this resort was over all pretty good but they need improvement on their trip and fall hazards that were plentiful, especially the stairs to the beach one had no rails the other had broken stairs. Also, half the night time lights throughout the resort didn't work, I suggest taking a flashlight.The other big issue we had is that there was no air conditioning in the main buffet , eating in 27 degree temperature is not enjoyable when you have been in the heat all day. Melia Jardines del Rey: Great time!

The hotel was nice, the grounds are well taken care of and the staff is extremely nice. Will definitely go again with my kids. The Beach is amazing and pools are very nice. Not many options in food selection or bar drinks. Lots of Rum though!

Grand Memories Cayo Largo: Memories Cayo Largo

We stayed for 2 weeks at Memories Cayo Largo 11 - 25 Nov 2022. It has had many upgrades, new walkways, signage, tables & chairs, pool liner, wi fi through out the resort. The biggest bonus was the food. It was top notch! I had prime rib twice and every night the selection was awesome. The beach comes and goes, that's a fact. The first week was calm with lots of beach. The second week was windy so the beach was gone. I'm sure it's back by now. I was disappointed that they are turning the mini dis [... read more]co into a Steak House, so now you're forced to sit at the 24hr bar that has very limited seating and is right beside the loud theatre. There are many more upgrades that can be done and David the Manager said it is a work in progress. Our next trip is 24 Feb 2023, so we'll see what improvements have been made then.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing!

I have traveled to Cuba 4x, and this is my second time to Cayo Santa Maria. I have to say that we had an amazing time. The food could have been a bit better. Being a Cuban run resort, I found there was really no "western" options in terms if vegetables that would have made the meals more enjoyable. I stuck to meats and things that were "safe" in my opinion and I had no issues all week. They don't have salad dressing, and didn't have sugar until the end of the week. I have never seen everywhere else get the guests so involved. They really need more recognition. Well done! This hotel all around was 4.5 stars in my opinion. Definitely will go back..

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Not a 5 star

Paradisus Princesa del Mar in Veradero is not a 5 star resort. 3 restaurants are closed. Grounds are unkept. Rooms need to be updated. Alcohol choices are very limited- days without wine, vodka, gin, etc. Food is terrible.We understand the situation in Cuba, but the rating for this hotel is wrong. Should be a 3.5.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Beautiful Resort

The grounds at this resort are amazing very well kept and really nice and green. The pool and beach area lots of room we were able to find a lounger any time we went to either. However, we spend majority of our time at the beach. You can walk for miles on the beach. The staff went beyond and back to help you. The service was great. Entertainment was very good, so we never left the resort during our stay. Our room was only steps away from the beach and pool. Building 26. I feel the resort was onl [... read more]y operating at 50 per occupancy. The resort did their best with their food. There was plenty of chicken, pork, eggs and fish. Limited pasta and bread. On our last day there was no milk even at the airport for our coffee. Cuba is just started to get back on their feet for tourism. Speaking to others on that attended resorts in Varadero there was always something that the resort ran out of during their stay. However during our stay the resort never ran out of wine. We knew that food could be an issue before we booked. We have no regrets going to this resort the people of Cuba always treated us with great kindness. Only thing there was no hand sanitizer at the resort. The beach and pool restaurant the hand dryer was not working. Some of the workers wore facemask while others never wore them. Bottom line we still had a fantastic vacation which we booked seven-days prior to departure. All Canadians remember don't tip with Loonies or Tonnies the workers have no way of cashing them in for money. My spouse felt sorry for the workers and went around and cashed in her paper money for coin.

Sol Palmeras: Amazing vacation!

My best friend and I had a great time at the resort. We had an awesome room on ground floor so we could just walk out to the pool and beach right from our room! Pool was right there beach was only a two minute walk! Beach was beautiful lots of chairs never had to worry about that. Food was ok. But that’s what it is like at resorts so we expected that. Staff was super friendly, and our maid was the best! We will be coming back next year with the kids!

Villa Lindamar: Quaint little hotel

We had an amazing time. Great location Beautiful You have to shuttle to the main beach as the beach is rocky. Food good for Cuba. Entertainment exceptional! Thank you so much for an amazing vacation

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Staff was amazing!

I didn’t expect great food but it was terrible! I think they are still trying to recover from Covid. Hardly any entertainment during the day and even the music poolside you couldn’t hear because the volume was so low.

Memories Trinidad Del Mar: Nice resort

We had been there for a week, resort is clean, staff is friendly, food is cuban. For sure the best parts of resort are beach, sun, and ocean. They are beautiful. Snorkeling is 20$ for 1 hour trip to riffs or you can see a lot of fish along the shore. Visitors are from all over the world come and go every day. Trip to Trinidad is not for everyone, impression is sad. I would recommend enjoying the vacation at resort. Keep in mind, that the road from Santa Clara airport to hotel takes 2.5-3 hours.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Beautiful resort

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The pool entertainment were awesome. Giselle was so friendly and energetic. The grounds were preparing for the winter season. By the time we left, they had everything looking great. The beach was beautiful. We snorkeled right out from shore. The catamaran crew at the beach are amazing.There seemed to be quite a bit of coral so water shoes are recommended. Delicious omelettes every morning. There was always a variety of pork, fish and chicken. No p [... read more]roblem finding food. Make sure you bring bug spray. The bugs seemed to be biting pretty bad.

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: October trip

Great spot for an r&r holiday. Everybody at the resort goes above and beyond to make visitors feel welcome and pampered. Great beaches, beautiful grounds, good food. Will visit again and recommend to friends and family

Melia Buenavista: Exceeded our Expectations...

We have visited Cayo Largo 20 times over the past several years, overtime the beach has eroded and the prosperities have deteriorated so we thought we would try Cayo Santa Maria for the 1st time. In short, the hotel and staff significantly exceeded our expectations. The resort is small, but very well positioned at the tip of the island. We are beach walkers; it is a beautiful 2km walk to the next hotel on the east beach. The west beach provides a walk thru natural sea setting, lots of wildlife. There are 2 pools, very nice, very quaint, feels like your own private pool. The rooms were excellent, very spacious. Some minor wear and tear, common in Cuba as they do not have money to upkeep. The shower is OUTSIDE the room...awesome, showering under moonlight and the stars! The meals were between good and great. There are 2 dining restaurants, providing excellent meals for dinner. Breakfast, you can also order off a menu. The only critique was the buffet offering for breakfast and lunch was very limited, basically a few salads and breads. Beyond this, you could order off the menu, the options were limited, but the quality and presentation style were as good as dinner meals. We would have preferred a more extensive buffet for both lunch and breakfast. There was one evening dinner by the pool, very well done. There are no stage shows, only a small 2–3-person group playing music by the 1 main bar in the evening. If you are looking for quiet, romantic setting, this is the place. NO KIDS! adults only. The BEST part were the staff! Everyone was exceptional. We took a brief visit to the other 3 Melia properties, they are huge, noisy, kids, busy...you get the idea, Buenavista was the complete opposite, exactly what we wanted. Oh, one more comment, at the sunset beach, each evening, they had a Kenny G style trumpeter playing tunes as part of the sunset...it just doesn't get any better.
