Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Great family resort

Great hotel. Fun for the family. Hours in the lazy river. Unfortunately the beach has tons of seaweed but that’s just like how it is this time of the year everywhere. But the hotel definetly makes up for it. The only draw back I found at this hotel was the layout. The walks are long and in the heat can be tedious. But tons of great drinks and food to help recharge.

Riu Republica: Great place and staff

This resort was absolutely entertaining and a lot of fun!! Great people. Age group was anywhere from young 20's up to seniors - majority being mid 30's. Overall the resort was well kept. The grounds looked great especially at night! They have 4 pools all together - 2 are swimup bars which get really crazy at times but fun. The food was very good overall. Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Do Not Book

I had a very stressful time at Bavaro, mainly because of the many room issues I've encountered since the first day I arrived. The door knob of the first room completely came out when I got dropped off by the belt boy. It couldn't be closed nor could it be opened properly. The telephone in the room was not working and the A/C was finicky. The belt boy was trying to convince me to stay as he was trying to get the maintenance guy. I wasn't happy about the condition of the room so I went back to the [... read more] reception and insist they give me another room. They weren't apologetic and I felt that I was the issue asking for a room change but they did it anyway. The next day after I returned from the beach, I got locked out of my new room. I had to go to the lobby three times to exchange my key cards, thinking that was the problem. Not until I asked a belt boy to come with me that he told me it could be the door's battery problem. He called maintenance and the batteries were changed and I was able to get in. After I took a shower, I went outside for a bit only to discover I was locked out of my room again. They came and changed the batteries for the second time. Then I went out for dinner and still I could not open my door for the third time when I came back from dinner. I was furious so I asked the reception to look for a room that was free of issues. The receptionist told me it's because I've put the key card next to my phone and that affected the card's ability to open the door. I told him that's not true because my key card has been in my wallet the whole time and it was the door's batteries problem. He then showed me a log book of how many people have changed their rooms that day due to the key card's problem and there were a ton of them having the same issues with the door/room. I reiterated that it's not my key card's problem and that I would need a new room again. Finally he assigned me to another room and sent me off with a belt boy. When we got to the third room I've been assigned, I was upset to find out that room wasn't free - there were people staying inside! Of course, I had to go back to the reception and ask for another room again. All my time at the resort was wasted on unpacking, packing, and changing rooms. That's it. The customer service is extremely slow, condescending, apathetic and incompetent. The guys working on the beach/selling tours are extremely flirty and inappropriate. I had one guy touching my hand, stroking my hair, and others asking me for my number etc. There were tons of seaweed on the beach and there were many workers trying to get them out of the water everyday but that didn't seem to help. To be fair, the food was amazing and shows were good.

Nickelodeon Hotel Punta Cana: Outstanding Family Friendly Resort!

My family and I just returned from the Nickelodeon Resort and Hotel, and had an amazing time. The resort is immaculate, and the service impeccable. Everyone greets you with a smile and are always happy to help you. That goes for the bartenders, servers, front desk and even the life guards. My kids, aged 3 and 5, loved the water park and the character breakfast! We even got slimed! An absolute must! The food was truly outstanding. It was a bit annoying getting reservations - but nothing that was impossible with some kindness and finesse. We are planning our next trip to Nickelodeon in 2019!

Sunscape Bavaro Beach: Pleasant

The resort overall was great! The rooms were nice however problem with the sliding door to the balcony (easily locks when closed). The beach was not as portrayed in the pictures. Seaweed was everywhere. A huge rock/shoal was in front of the resort. The staff were very friendly. Entertainment in the lobby was crowded, not much room to sit. Atmosphere was good. We made the best out of our vacation and met some great people.

Grand Bavaro Princess: A must visit amazing resort

me and my family were amazed with the stuff friendly welcome when we arrived. we loved every aspect of this resort. very friendly stuff with great smile all over we went. i would like to make a special comment about Jose and Rafael the two most amazing people at the pool bar who made our vacation extra special. thank you Bavaro princess for having stuff like Jose and Rafael. rooms are very clean and comfortable, food is great. I would recommend this resort to anyone.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Great resort, par service

This resort exceeding our expectations with all the facilities and seer size of it. Room was spectacular with tons of room in the 1 bedroom suite for my wife, daughter and I. Lots of fun things for my daughter to do with a kids play park, a teens club with a basketball court and of course the kids pool with slides and other water toys. Our room was not equipped as it was supposed to be on arrival and had no hot water. Took 4 calls and 4 hrs later, to guest services to finally get both resolved. The tech barely spoke English which became a challenge explaining the issue. All this was happening when getting my daughter to bed and after the fact to. So noise was a concern and where the tech had to excess. If it was done when we made the first call, there wouldn't have been an issue and would have nothing but good things to say. We were also there for our anniversary which we were told something would be done for us but alas, nothing. Not even a sash on the door which we saw to be a sign that someone was celebrating something (anniversary or birthday). Language barrier was more evident than we've experienced at other resorts but may be due to the size of the resort. I would rate 3 out of 5 on service and 5 out of 5 on the resort. I would go again but mention to Sunwing my first experience in hopes for some compensation. Ratings may seem skued but my opinion is you can find great resorts all over the world, what will set the amazing ones apart from the others is the service.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Clean and great à la cartes!

The hotel was beautiful and very well kept. The food was above average and the reserved restaurants were fantastic. Excursions were really enjoyable. Would recommend more of a variety of pool activities. Too much seaweed on the beach could not swim. This time of year is bad for seaweed I guess. I came beginning of may last time and the beach was fantastic (as opposed to August where the beaches had mounds of seaweed)

Occidental Caribe: Beautiful Resort

Overall hotel is awesome! Many restaurants to choose from; however, you can only book three a-la-carte for the week. Pools are huge, clean and beautiful. Staff are friendly. I wish they would stop trying to sell me time-shares while I'm there - I got asked every morning when I went for breakfast. If I want more information about the resort or time-sharing, I'll find out - don't chase me. Other than that, place was great. I would definitely recommend!

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Great time

Recently went to Melia Tropical Caribe. Had an amazing time. Resort was quiet so was really nice. Pools amazing. Beach had a lot of seaweed that was washed up. Not usual but large amounts. Water was still amazing and warm but you had to step over a lot of the seaweed. Didn’t stop of from using beach though. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Had to move rooms due to AC not working but they helped out with no problem and were very accommodating.

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Outstanding and refreshing

This resort was awesome. From the moment you walk in the modern and stylish resort the staff is quick, friendly and effective. The grounds are clean and beautiful, restaurants are amazing and the entertainment is on point. A definite revisit to breathless resort.

Occidental Caribe: Very Disappointing!!!!

We spent this trip as part of our 50th wedding anniversary. On our anniversary (August 24th) we paid an extra $35/each to have a meal on the beach. The food was sub par at best!! There were at least 15 male and female all drunk and using loud profane language. Left most of our food which was cold when it arrived. We just left it and went back to our room. There was no where to go. Just one main walkway. Very very poor casino. Machines were 30 to 40 years outdated. Excellence El Carmen: A fabulous resort !!!

My swim out room was amazing and my room was stunning and it had an enclosed jacuzzi overlooking my deck and pool area! The grounds and gardens are meticulously kept and I was perfectly situated with access within minutes to the ocean, bar pool I regularly visited and the hotel lobby. The restaurants were excellent with Chez Isabelle bring my favourite, the Grill steakhouse, spice the Japanese restaurant where I enjoyed a fun and delicious hibachi dinner. Unfortunately the timing was not good for the ocean there was significant seaweed analogy but that was just a force of nature. They worked all day everyday working on cleaning it up and made huge progress. Five months earlier the ocean was clear but the pools were absolutely wonderful places which made me forget about not swimming in the ocean. The hotel spa was amazing! I’d highly recommend the hydratherapy and various body treatments they offer! Even the hair salon was great for a blowout before dinner. If you’re looking for a real five star experience, you must go to Excellence El Carmen!

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: very good resort, even better staff...

We had a wonderful time at the Grand Palladium Punta Cana. Even with construction, the grounds were well kept. The buffet selection was incredible for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The japanese restaurant was entertaining, delicious and a lot of fun. Even with the seaweed issues, we found the beach to be in good condition and the resort seemed to trying it's best to clear the seaweed. From the groundkeepers to the front desk staff, with a special mention to Rommi and the lobby bartenders. the bartenders were amazing with their drinks and also their fun factor. They are a real credit to the resort.

Punta Cana Princess: Resort is Okay

We stayed at the Punta Cana Princess for 10 days, the resort is okay but I don't think we will return. The resort needs to make some changes such as free WiFi throughout, not just in the lobby, it is almost impossible to get on in the evening when everyone else is trying to link in. They do offer it in the rooms for a ridiculous price, from what I hear is no better than the lobby. Pool lounge chairs are old and uncomfortable not to mention very hard to get out of. We stayed in the best honey [... read more]moon suite which was nice but on the top floor, they list it as the second floor but is really the third floor and there are 4 flights of stairs. Not good for someone with mobility issues. Food was okay but people did get sick from Mare Norstrom the 24 hour restaurant. No air conditioning in buffet, lobby and most restaurants either. Not much on site so night is boring unless you take the shuttle to the casino which is off site and open to the public not just hotel guests. If you are a beach person you wont want to go in summer months as the seaweed problem is bad. Not the hotels fault but tour operators don't advise on this and its awful. Most reviews indicate Building 5 is the best, I disagree, 4 is the best. Don't pay for ocean view, only one room is ocean view which was ours (5217) and the view is obstructed by large trees and the spa. Seaweed bags are piled under the balcony in #5 and the smell comes up from the drains every time you flush the toilet. At the ocean end of the pool the smell of seaweed is bad as well. I will say the fridge worked great in our room and the staff get a 5 star rating. They were friendly and courteous, Ragsa and Rauole from the buffet were awesome and Nelson at the pool bar was wonderful. It is reasonably priced but in my opinion is not a 5 star resort. It is 4 star at best. By the way the pool is not open until 9 am if you go in earlier than that they will tell you to get out. The workers start at 8 which should be 7 so pool can open at 8. 9 is ridiculous.

Excellence Punta Cana: Disappointing Experience

I was at Excellence from August 15 to August 25. I was alone there.The first thing I found out is that this resort is not for singles. Great internet access on grounds and rooms even on beach. No buffet restaurant for dinner, you must go to ala-carte restaurant. Some of those restaurants requires dress code and not all are working every day. Forget about sleeping in your room after 8 AM. The staff is so laud in the hallways. For this price I found the place to be disappointing experience.

Excellence El Carmen: Amazing Resort. And great value!

Amazing Resort Food was Great ! Service was excellent Entertained team was simple amazing The beach was terrible because of Mother Nature....flooded with seaweed Would go back anytime and would recommend this Resort to all of you want a fun and relaxing vacation Would first wait for the beaches to clear up in Punta Cana

Excellence Punta Cana: Good resort

Overall the features of the hotel were good however the food was satisfactory. We appreciated that all of the staff made the effort to speak to us in English making our stay more enjoyable. Two of the bar tenders Kendry and Basilio were very helpful and went the extra mile to make us both feel welcomed and well looked after.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Disappointment Awaited Us.

Unfortunately, we were let down quite a bit on our trip to Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana. We were attending my cousins wedding, which was a nice event although I felt we were rushed. The entire vacation with over 50 of us there people were sick almost daily, we've since come to realize this is not uncommon on this resort. The staff were friendly although not overly helpful. If you didn't tip accordingly you wouldn't be served promptly or with care. (We are tippers and so this was not an issue for [... read more] us directly but some of our family members had notable issues with this which I witnessed first hand.) The food flavor and display was a 5/10 at best and I have to say I expect more for the price we paid. Room cleanliness was acceptable, nothing special. The beaches while out of control of the resort entirely were completely filled with sargassum seaweed which can be a hazard and while the resort failed to mention it, I immediately did research and found out that it can cause severe skin irritation. Needless to say none of us were in the water at any point. The pools closed early nightly which really was unfortunately especially with not being able to use the beaches. There was a ridiculous amount of construction making it difficult to enjoy any type if relaxation or time at the spa. There was absolutely no entertainment and again for the cost I found this ridiculous. We do travel quite a bit and I can honestly say I would never recommend this resort to anyone. Unfortunately.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Amazing Resort

This hotel was truly amazing, rooms, grounds restaurants were all very clean. I also appreciate them having hand sanitizer at entrance of every restaurants. Foam party was incredible, the staff totally engages the crowd. Everyone needs to experience this. Staff were very friendly and worked hard at entertaining guests. I do however have a few minor complaints, the check in process was very slow, also when requesting staff to bring items to your room, they took extremely long(sometimes having to [... read more] call back). Our group had a few teenage boys, and unfortunately they could not go to the disco because of their ages, yet they did not have a teenage disco. I feel that they need to have more activities for teenagers. The beach is beautiful, but unfortunately had a lot of sea weed. I was informed that it was because of hurricane season.
