Starfish Jibacoa: Best of the Best

Hello Dear Traveler We enjoyed each and every moment at this resort and to those who complain about it (don’t listen) to their reviews please it’s unfortunately underestimated resort. It’s the best customer service we’ve ever had and the location was amazing very beautiful area with mountains and landscaping, the trees are gorgeous. Los Delfines: Very disappointing

Had the same set of 2 bath towels for two weeks. Food was cold and the same everyday. Wine with meals was just an occasional treat. No pillowcase on my wife's pillow. Broken towel rack on bathroom, broken sliding balcony door. Other than that it was ok. Staff was nice and friendly. Locals staying at resort got preferred treatment in the dining room and on the beach.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Nice place structurally

Beach was nice. Ran out of food by day 3-4ran out of vodka day 3. No bread, veggies, fruit, butter, milk.staff were constantly begging for us to get them food and drinks. Only 1 bottle of water offered to the room of 2 people daily. NO BUFFET all week, NO entertainment all week, store had NO snacks, and was hardly open. On the last day of travel we were offered a wiener on a plate was all that was left to eat in the resort. With a 12 hr day ahead of us, kinda pathetic.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Nice resort structurally

Well, they ran out of food, vodka, pop. We had NO buffet all week, NO entertainment all week. Staff were nice but shouldn’t be up and running if it’s not ready! By the last day we were offered a hot dog wiener cut up on a plate before we left. No bread, butter, milk, veggies, fruit. Staff were constantly begging for us to get them food and drinks. No snacks in the store that was not open very often.

Iberostar Selection Holguin: This was one one my favourite hotels in Cuba . Been to 8 different resorts this one is best by far .

This resort seem to have everything you needed for a good holiday.. Food was good apart from the odd shortage , but never a real concern. Staff were great and took care of all our needs and never had to wait long any where .

Melia Jardines del Rey: Melia Jardines Del Rey

Hotel was in a great location, rooms are spacious, clean and bright. Booked ocean view and it was worth the extra to be close to the beach. Also puts you close to the lunch buffet. Beach is nice and long for walking, and you could be far out in the ocean without it getting deep. Water shoes might be good for some people as there is some coral along the shoreline. Pool area is really nice, with a snack bar right there. At this time the a Al carte restaurants weren’t all opened but being r [... read more]otated. Really preferred the buffet though. Food was good, although repetitive, but I went for the 5star beach not the food. Wifi in the lobby works pretty good. Not ideal for anyone in a wheelchair because the paths aren’t level, although ground floor rooms would be fine for people with mobility issues. No elevators. Coffee bar was popular in the mornings. Small market right there was convenient to walk to for purchasing souvenirs.

Playa Costa Verde: A nice experience

It is not our first time in Holguin, but it is our first time in the Costa Verde hotel. Playa Costa Verde is not a new hotel, but it has wonderful grounds (which is important to us, we like walks), a nice long beach and a pool, and it is reasonably maintained. We considered newer hotels such as the Iberostar but the Iberostar has a tiny little beach with no shade. Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Fantastic resort!

After many years of going to Holguin, we decided to change our hotel stay for Gran Muthu. Vacation was fantastic. Everything requested was as expected. The service we obtained from Nore and his staff was excellent. We only encountered one issue and it was the Manager of the front desk who needs to learn to speak English and learn to be customer oriented. (I think he feels he is in charge of the army :-) Would not hesitate to book again.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: We will be back !

Recently spent 11 days at Iberostar Bella Vista , have not been back to cuba in 6 years so wasn't sure what to expect reading all the reviews on shortages since the pandemic . Staff are fantastic , room was spotless and clean everyday, no beer , pop in mini fridges but 2 bottles of water daily . You can purchase beer at resort or duty free , no tequila at resort which we don't drink it anyway , wine was great red & white . View from oceanview was amazing, we spent 10 days in ocean which is what we went for , however pools were clean and fine also. We brought toilet paper from home and we didn't have too however it's nicer lol . Food was good for cuba , better than 6 years ago forsure however nobody goes to cuba for food . There were many choices and you certainly won't starve, Lobster, shrimp , beef , pork , chicken , burgers , pasta , burnt wings , tuna , we noticed no lettuce and no potatoes, we don't eat desserts but looked like lots there . We would definitely go back to this resort ! Fabulous vacation . 😎

Starfish Jibacoa: Recommended

I enjoyed the beach, food was at a higher level than whats expected in cuba. Staff was very friendly and provided great service. Rooms were clean and comfortable (especially the bed). Entertainment was sub par but that’s my only gripe.

Blau Varadero: Amazing

Brisas Guardalavaca: Not 5 star as indicate,

This Hotel now is for the local people and is no good for the Canadians on the food line, they step in front of you. you can not keep a chair on the beach They go and a seat on your chair, I was 16 Times in this Hotel, but I will think to go back again. Thank you Brisas Hotel good by!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing Beach

Let me begin by saying that we had a fantastic week at this beautiful resort. Our goal was to have an inexpensive get-away to a beautiful beach resort and we are very happy with our choice. We have done a fair bit of travelling over the years and the complainers never cease to amaze us. The staff work very hard to keep the resort running smoothly. Beach within very close walking distance to all units. No venders prowling, plenty of chairs and palm covered palapas for everyone, catamarans and paddleboats at your disposal, beach bars, and a beautiful sandy beach. There are many broken shells that without water shoes you will have to maneuver around when entering the water. We brought beach blow-ups along with noodles to float on. Meals: If your goal is to eat gourmet meals this may not be the place for you--you will not starve, there is plenty of food. We only went to breakfast and dinner skipping lunch every day by choice. Breakfast was always delicious and there was enough variety for dinner -- Wednesday is Lobster night at the buffet. The bread and rolls at the buffet were delicious and plentiful. We only had lunch on one occassion at a restaurant near the pool where they made home-made pizza. There was a lady at our resort who mentioned that the buffet lunches were the best meals. We tried a couple of the a la cart restaurants for dinner and enjoyed the Cuban. Staff: Hats off to the people at the front who are faced all day long with people who have issues--many involving internet. From tech support to complaints, I have witnessed the staff maintaining their composure and smiling while being constantly bombarded. Everyone who works at the resort puts in a lot of effort to make sure people are satisfied. I would happily exchange bills for coins for the staff who requested. I gave a grounds keeper my beach towels on the day I left because he asked me for them 3 days before our departure and I told him I would give them to him on the last day--for some reason the towels seemed to be a big hit. He wanted to show his appreciation and greeted me with a smile every day and one day came to show me an iguana for a picture opportunity and on another gave me a home-made bracelet. Understand that you will not be harrassed--these people are honourable. Rooms: The rooms were large and spacious with a comfortable bed and balcony to sit and have a morning coffee. The plumbing is old but funcitional. The maids stocked us daily with a large bottle of water and clean towels. Bars: The bartenders were great. Most days in the late afternoon the beach bars ran out of ice along with some alcohol selections, and one day even beer. This was no big deal--I am certain if we were so inclined we could have gone to a bar in the resort, in any case it was not a negative for us. On a side note, we did not book diamond club and my husband is a scotch drinker, so, we bought scotch at duty free on the way down to enjoy his scotch in case it was not available. Whiskey was available at the beach bar and scotch/whiskey however, was available intermittently at the hotel lounge. Entertainment: There was always something going on at 9:00 pm beside the hotel lounge bar peformed by the entertainment staff who are multi-talented. A highlight was the sax player who gets the entire place rocking...he seems to appear on Monday nights in the hotel lounge after the Michael Jackson show, and Thursday night after the 9pm show. He is amazing and it is so nice to see everyone dancing and enjoying the music...we also lucked out when he played in the buffet during our dinner on Monday evening. All in all, go without huge expectations, and be very pleasantly surprised.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Best resort ever visited

Great customer service, staff went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable, very clean. Have been in many other resorts but Melia Cayo Santa Maria is on the top of the list of best experiences we ever had in Cuba. Rooms are large and comfortable. Beach is very clean and beautiful. Strongly recommend this resort.

Hotel Mojito: Another Wonderful Visit to Mojito

Mojito is a small resort that is staffed by absolutely amazing people...this is why we return over and over! After a long 3 years away due to COVID I was finally able to return for 3 weeks this November. The first thing I noticed was all the hard work the staff did during the COVID period to refresh and improve the surroundings - freshly painted buildings, the addition of a spa tub, extensive gardening etc. - the pride the staff take in their resort is evident everywhere. There are still m [... read more]any shortages in Cuba for a variety of reasons, however the staff are masters at overcoming obstacles and adversity! No ingredients for this salad - another type is created. No supply of some types of liquor or mix - fancy and tasty new drinks created. I cannot say enough about the adaptability and willingness to please that I experienced. I also did not feel that shortages affected the enjoyment in any way....and I certainly didn't go hungry! When visiting the Mojito I think it's important to understand/remember that this is not a 5 star resort - and it is unfair to expect 5 star amenities. The rooms could use some refreshing however they are immaculately clean and inviting. The buffet is extensive and filled with good food - but lobster and steak are not the norm...and realistically a gourmand would not choose Cuba as a vacation destination. The Mojito is a hotel where you will be treated as a valued guest and staff go out of their way to make your stay memorable....a place where you will make friends among the staff, meet great fellow guests...and most importantly enjoy the beauty that is Cuba and the Cuban people.

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Great getaway for sun and relaxation

We got a great deal just before busy season, so it felt spacious and easy going. The hotel service was great, the staff work hard to please guests. The hotel itself is relatively new, the pool was enjoyable, and had a nice decor. The food was a highlight, being our favourite in all trips. The buffet was always well stocked and had staff to make sure portions were cleanly served. The snack bar was great between the buffet, But unfortunately the beach snack bar was usually lacking for food. There was a great bbq but wasn’t really bbqing meats, was more toasting bread for sandwiches..as my chicken was cold.... We essentially go to Cuba resorts to explore beaches and snorkel/ swim. Really gorgeous waterfront, and would return for the beach alone. It’s a different beach than santa maria, but still really enjoyable.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Rest and Relaxation

The Royalton is a small resort perfect for R & R. Variety of Food that is excellent and plentiful with lots of variety. No buffet, however, you could always ask for seconds or even thirds. The drinks at the main bar where outstanding. Loved the 24-hour snack bar and drinks. Clean and well-kept grounds and rooms. Butlers, maids, waiters, bar tenders, gardeners and Manger go above and beyond to service you. Beach is beautiful with white sand and crystal-clear water. We loved that the beach was qu [... read more]iet and if you wanted music you could go to the main pool in the afternoon. Finding a sun bed/chair was never an issue. Very safe resort and the lifeguards saved a man from drowning in the ocean when the ocean was very rough one day. They were always on the lookout. Entertainment was good. Suggestions and Cons: They should have dancing music after the entertainment finishes. There are limited beach towels, and you need to go early to replace the one you have. There is no Ocean View and the ground floor rooms sliding doors open to bushes. There should be signs to tell you want the entertainment is every night. I would definitely return to the Royalton in Santa Maria mainly for the Service, Food, Beach and a perfect resort to rest and relax.

Paradisus Varadero: Good resort

The hotel was great not much water pressure in the room showers or hot water, the food was ok at the buffet not much flavor or variety a la carts we did Cuban and Italian they were both very good delicious food. Knowing about the state cuba is in did not expect much in the way of the food but expected a little better that what we had at the buffet. Beach is beautiful staff is amazing and friendly

Grand Memories Varadero: Ok resort

Well I didn’t have hot water and my television didn’t work at all; and my balcony door was broken and couldn’t close properly or lock. Overall it was ok but I didn’t like the room and food ; service was good

Paradisus Rio De Oro: let's go again !

Amazing Resort ! Full Relaxation and recharging your battery ! No any covid restrictions ! Happy people are around you. Friendly staff. No highrise buildings with elevators. Not crowded resort. Most of tourists are from Canada and Germany I wish to stay longer. Cheers !
