Sol Cayo Santa Maria: 2-star experience

Check in was quick, an envelope was already prepared. The room was huge disappointment, nothing could open/close. curtains were stained, walls damaged. Moved to another room, which was better, but next day toilet did not work. It was fixed on 3rd day after complaint. Food was very average, but you can find something to eat. Two grill stations in a buffet, one for fish, one for meat. Employees were polite, grounds nice. Beach was the best on the island, water color stunning. Nudist area is annoyi [... read more]ng, it is part of the hotel beach, not near it as some reviews said They should make east side beach presentable, it is very depressing. There was always enough chairs in the shade, you did not need to wake up early. It is my recommendation that AIr Transat/Trip Central do not offer this hotel until seriously needed renovations are performed.

Melia Puerto Vallarta: Pleasantly surprised!

Very nice smaller resort. The grounds are beautiful and deluxe ocean view room was very nice with lots of room and gorgeous view from the sixth floor. I've been to many all inclusives and the food here was some of the best I have eaten, everything very tasty and kept hot. Even sushi was available at the pool lunch buffet along with some of the best pizza I've ever eaten, especially the ham pineapple, delicious! We did not experience any harassment from time share reps as was mentioned in some of the reviews I read. All in all, had a great vacation and would definitely go back again!

Melia Cayo Coco: Amazing resort...Enjoy every minutes of it

The minutes we walk in,we knew we were in for a treat. The staff was so nice and always with a smile. Never seen a bigger room(suite) are so beautiful and clean. Food for Cuba is really good,the beautiful garden always clean. Beautiful beach also. Thanks Melia for this nice hospitality. Always a pleasure to book with trip central. The staff a 10+

Melia Las Antillas: Buyer Beware!!!!

The Hotel exterior and lobby area were clean and well kept with the exception of the winding river that housed a couple of nerf sharks and fish..... I hope they were not the fish they cooked up during the week - hence I did not eat fish!!!

Sol Varadero Beach: Great place, Great people

The resort although an older one And going through some changes, I found it to be very clean, fantastic beach. The people are very friendly and go out of their way to make your stay a good experience. Plan on going back again.

Tryp Cayo Coco: SECOND VISIT AND NOT DISAPPOINTED

March 22 - 29, 2015, my second visit to this all inclusive 4 star hotel. Overall it was a great vacation, the standard room had a nice view of the ocean, the food was fantastic, so much variety and very fresh. From Sushi and Sashimi, to the pasta station, the pizza station,stir fries, fresh chicken, pork, beef that was cooked to your specifications, some of the local foods, fresh salads, fruits and vegetables. The beach was stunning, with plenty of shade and lounges for everyone. Daily activities were mainly around the pools, and a good time was had by all. The staff of course made this vacation a memorable one, they are always ready to help you at any time of the day or night. Heard many comments from other vacationers about the staff, and from first hand experience, they truly care to make your vacation perfect. Being my second visit the hotel had a special lunch for us, and I was surprised at how many people were there at this luncheon. From all the resorts I visited, this one stands out with visitors coming back time and time again. The nightly shows were unbelievably excellent, from the Michael Jackson, the regular nightly shows, and to the aquatic night performance. These performers are a huge part of the vacation experience, they are dedicated to bring the best possible show every night, extremely talented young people that always had a smile on or off stage. In saying all this, there is room for improvement, which I'm happy to say they are actually making the changes. The air conditioner could have been a bit cooler, but other wise I have no other complaints, and expect to return within 6 months again.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Cozy+Friendly!

Everything was EXCELLENT!! Only one complaint,was the quality of food!! We have been to Cuba several times before+ this was the first time ever,that food was not up to par!! The a la cartes were average.One other major irritant to me(not husband),was the lack of enforcement on fairness with holding pool/beach chairs! Not enough for all. Other than those 2 complaints we REALLY ENJOYED this resort! Staff were Tremendous!! Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Relaxing Escape from Winter

After suffering through the worst winter that we can recall in Halifax, we booked this resort because we had previously had good experiences with Paradissus resorts elsewhere. It it did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived we were well looked after. Check-in was seamless, service was great, food was better than expected with great selection from the buffet to the a la carte restaurants. Melia Las Dunas: Nice resort for the price.

Very large resort - lots of walking. Regular shuttle service would be a great benefit (i.e. shuttle stops at regular, timed intervals). Limited views from balcony's regardless of location. Good a la carte restaurants. Very large buffet - great selection for lunch and dinner. Rooms o.k. but day to day maid service was inconsistent in terms of cleaning. Pool area very nice and quiet on the adult side of the resort. No need to get up early and reserve lounge chairs but one's located under bamboo um [... read more]brellas go fast. One day with no a/c or running water in the room. Spa and gym are very far away from the adult side of the resort. Beautiful beach - very busy. Daily entertainment and shows were very good. Staff were excellent. Keep patio door closed to prevent small lizards from entering the room and climbing the walls.

Melia Las Dunas: A large resort

Spectacular beach. Lots of entertainment. Rooms were fine, however, toilet paper was somewhat of an issue. Had to give a gift to a maid in the main lobby to get an industrial size roll so we wouldn't keep running out. Food was good. Lots of variety and lots of restaurants to choose from. Too bad its such a long bus ride from airport to hotel. This is somewhat of a deterrent, however, it gives you a chance to see sights along the way.

Melia Cayo Coco: Return trip- just as great as our first visit

We were very excited to return to the Melia after our wonderful stay last year. On arrival our room was ready but it did have a few issues. Went to the front desk and everything was resolved immediately by moving us to another area. Food was just as good as last year or even i might say better. Service in the lobby bar was A1 and there were a few waiters who were amazing. Pedro was outstanding and the other names I can not remember. Pool bar ran out of beer one day which to me I did not understa [... read more]nd. The whole area looked great. The gardeners were very hard at work. Not much going on with the animation team around the pool area. Maybe they were down by the beach. Spent the time at the pool due to the wind at the beach and there was a red flag up because waves were high. I would rate my holiday 10 out of 10 and yes we will be going back.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Great Trip!

We were bumped to the Meliá Jardines del Rey, a new resort. Rooms were clean & comfy. Service was great. Not all wait staff are fluent in English but there was always someone on shift who could translate to ensure our needs were met. Eating out with Celiac disease is always a challenge. Special thanks to Enrique in customer service for printing a letter explaining my dietary needs. I provided that to the chef each lunch and dinner so my meals would be prepared separately. I did bring my own cer [... read more]eal for breakfast The sun, sand and warm temperatures were fantastic. We also enjoyed a bus trip to Moron and learning about Cuban culture. I recommend Meliá Jardines del Rey and would definitely return there myself!

The host staff were friendly and mostly helpful. The food at the main buffet was average and the specialty restaurants were good The public restrooms through out the resort were under serviced and at times disgusting. The towel supply at the pool area was poorly stocked the bar and host staff were great. We arrived at 10PM in the evening to find our room door ajar and the A/C turned down to 15 degrees C. Our room floors were not swept everyday. We put all of our used bath towels in the bathtub o [... read more]n day 3 so the cleaner could supply fresh. They did not they removed the bath mat and hand towel & hung the bath towels up on the towel bar Gross! when we notified guest services they brought us 1 worn out (but clean) hand towel. Not ideal for 2 people showering the next day. The bed was poorly made each day- bottom sheet not stretched smoothed before being tucked in. The picture on the bathroom wall had broken shards of glass place back in the frame.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: The "Level" is the only way to go!

The "Level" is the only way to go! Excellent service, very nice room, great food, beautiful resort, very clean. We stayed in the adults only section. No lineups for anything. The 4 restaurants in the Level lounge are very good. The resort is massive but golf carts are available 24hrs to take you wherever you like.

Melia Cayo Coco: Wonderful Resort!

I have never bothered to submit a review but after numerous visits to Cuba, I must say that this is the best resort I have stayed at in this country. Everything was close at hand - the beach, the pool, the restaurants so it was easy to walk to everything in a short period of time. (not too big and not too small) The staff was friendly, efficient and very responsive to requests. The nightly entertainment was professional and fun. The location is on an island at least one hour away from the closest little town so if you want to see and experience the "real Cuba" , you will have to book a bus, car etc. The nightlife is also limited. If, however, you are looking for a vacation that consists of a great beach, pool and is strictly R&R - this is the place for you!

Melia Las Dunas: Nice place

The grounds were beautiful, very large hotel. Rooms were nice and big. Maids did a great job. Adult pool area was nice and relaxing. Kids area a bit of a zoo. Very happy they were seperated. Beach was beautiful, but no washrooms close by. Shows were nice and courtyard entertainment was fun but repetitive song list. My only complaint was the lobby bar. They need about 10 more bartenders on staff in the evenings. The poor guys were just swamped. Some nights you may have stood there for half an hou [... read more]r or more to get a drink. This bar and the 24 hour snack bar were the only bars open at night, and with the size of the resort it was not enough.

Melia Las Dunas: Good resort

We we're a family of 4. The site was nice but could have been better taken care of. There was a few maintenance issues. We had a leak in our bathroom and it took 3 calls to fix it. But the staff was very friendly. The flight was the big problem for us 8 hours delayed to go and 6 hours delayed for the return flight (sunwing) need I say more..

Melia Cayo Coco: Excellent holiday destination

Great adult resort. Excellent food quality and selection. Nice tropical breeze and beach. Excellent place for a wedding or adult get away. Great service and friendly people. Great relaxing vacation destination.

Melia Las Dunas: Very nice for the most part.

The hotel was really pretty good. The lobby bar was great. Probably the resort's nicest feature. Room was fine except for the bed. It was really poor. Bed springs poking through the mattress. Food was so-so. On a par for Cuba. The beach was fabulous. Made up for anything not so great.
