Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Basic

All buildings show their age and general lack of upkeep. We moved from our first room related to water coming in from outside (rained) furniture broken- room showed age and general lack of upkeep. They moved us when asked. People were very helpful. Many persons were returning for many years- value for money definitely. The value is there for what you pay however do not expect what you would get at a more expensive resort. The Beach was beautiful the Pools showing age and the stonework definitely showed age and had areas that would be dangerous if your foot scraped them. Overall fair and value for the money

Cayo Levantado Resort: Awesome vacation!

If you're looking for a beautiful resort, with great food, and great people, on the privacy of your own island, this is the place! We had such a great time enjoying all that the resort has to offer. The beaches were beautiful, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was an amazing one.

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Melia Punta Cana Beach February 2020

The resort and the grounds were beautiful. The food at the buffets was good however the hot items were on the cooler side on most days. Having upgraded to the Level was nice as we could eat all three meals a la carte. The bars all had a really nice selection of premium alcohols. Some staff were friendly and helpful and others not so much...it was pretty much a 50/50 split. The pools and the beach were nice. My wife and I love nightly entertainment but there wasn't much of that in the evenings. W [... read more]e would also have preferred more daytime activities in the pool. I would recommend this resort to a friend only if they were looking for some quiet time. We prefer a bit more buzz!

Dreams Dominicus La Romana: Dream dominick's... would recommend with one reservation

The hotel was very nice, rooms were nice and the cleaning was always good. The service in the restaurants was sometimes slow but always friendly. The beach was fabulous and because of the way the resort handles the beach and pool chairs, there isn't that need to get up at 7 AM to reserve a chair. the only thing that was a real negative for me was the smoking. There were ash trays everywhere and people could smoke anywhere ( except in the room)- but there was an ash tray on the balcony. In [... read more] the bars the smoke would drift towards you and we actually moved several times. If smoking is to be allowed, it should be only in designated areas. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Fabulous resort

We are repeat vacationers to the Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar resort. We love the service, staff and the whole experience. Dining at the al la cartes are excellent. The particular building we were in, offered a butler service, Ligia was amazing, always on the ball, never disappointed. The Manager of the resorts restaurants Yulissa Acosta was always available and assisted us when required. The front desk manager Orlando Ellis greeted when we arrived and made the check in experience very smooth [... read more]. Also someone you could call upon when required. We like to thank the staff of Bahia for their wonderful service we will be returning.

Dreams Dominicus La Romana: Sweet Dreams

Had a great 11 days at Dreams Dominicus. Beautiful beach, clean pools, nice grounds. Perfect size resort. Room was spacious and comfortable. Staff pleasant and accommodating. Love tbe ladies at the lobby bar ! Only negatives were that this is smoking resort ! And evening restaurant service is very slow.

Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort: Beautiful resort but very, very, very poorly managed!

I would rate this resort 3-4 stars. And we are not picky. It took us a long time to check-in because we had to change the room. Got to our room and it had a horrible sewage smell. Sewage smell is one of the biggest problem at this resort, not everywhere but in some parts of the resort. Finely got a beautiful room with ocean view. No problem with reception, they understand the problem and trying to help. - I don't know if its a poor management or cleaning lady think that all you need is 1 t [... read more]owel. You have to look for them every evening after the beach to get towels. - The staff is poorly trained, especially on the beach. They will get together 3-4 people, stay near you on the beach or pool and talk loud right beside your chair like you don't exist, you try to get around them, they won't move. - And now, the WORST part. No chairs on the beach available unless you are up at 5-6 am. The beach is packed and you will not get a chair. I don't understand, they spend so much money on this beautiful modern resort and created this problem. Buy extra 100 chairs and let people relax, it's supposed to be a 5-star resort and you pay for it. People fighting every day. The manager, young girl that was called on the beach to help sort it out has to be fired. Couldn,t get her name. We've never seen anything like that. They say that we are not supposed to reserve chairs on the beach, it's their rules, I understand but they created this problem, because not enough chairs. It is a 5-star resort, for goodness sake. She was taking peoples belonging and putting them on the ground because someone came and asked for the chairs. Staff was running around, throwing towels on the ground, stealing pretty much chairs and giving to other people for tips. Our neighbor on the beach went with his wife for a walk on the beach, A staff member came, decide that it's being reserved, put their stuff on the sand and took chairs away. We tried to tell them but nobody listened. Unbelievable. They don't ask for money but they know they'll get good tips. Management pretty much created business there. Unbelievable. 5 or 3 stars hotel it doesn't matter. They have no right to touch my stuff. It creates a lot of tension on the beach. UNPRECEDENTED. -The bars are always busy and the service is extremely slow. - The Restaurants Do not eat at the Mexican, smells like sewage. Japanese, Italian is Ok. The buffet food is good. No complaint. Overall the resort is beautiful, modern. Potential to be a luxury 5 star. Need a lot of work, train stuff, managers totally lost. I hope the owner is reading our reviews and fix it fast. I am definitely not planning coming back to this resort. For a lot of people, the vacation was ruined.

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: Problems needing fixed

Holiday started off rough. This is not our first time here so we expected no problems. No water in room for two days, air conditioning problems, too much emphasis but on coral and prestige level that average Joe's felt part of the scenery. The animation staff never new what was happening that night when asked in the morning.. Junior and an older animation staff who i forget his name right now, but his son works in wait staff were great. Half of the new hired male staff in buffet area were too b [... read more]usy sneaking drinks while ducking under there dirty dishes station. Need MORE PROFESSIONALISM FOR SURE, Arielis looked exhausted trying to babysit these bafoons. Tables were always dirty and placemats, never new if your cutlery, or glasses had been used before. Seemed to me overall the place has gone down hill after their renovations. So sad as we always used to enjoy it. Stop trying to push out your average traveller for snobbery, and focus on those who made you what you are....your repeat average customers!! Shout out to Orlando, Baylaise, and kaysie who were fantastic. Oh and Pantara was the animation man I was thinking off.

Dreams Dominicus La Romana: Amazing resort and staff

We have been to many all inclusive resorts and were not disappointed with our decision to go here. We upgraded to preferred which made the difference in our experience. Resort is clean lovely beach area. And the staff are great. They go out of their way to make you happy. We will be back.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Nice Place

Overall we enjoyed this resort. It was easy to get around and restaurants, bars etc were close and easy to find. Beach chairs and pool chairs were very good and easy to find. Only a few things we Didn’t like. Resort was very stingy when pouring wine to the extent that when they poured wine into our glass we immediately went to the bar and brought back plastic cups of wine to add to the meaner amount that was originally served. Apparently they do this as instructed by senior management. Also on [... read more] several occasions the bars were not restocked until a few hours after opening. No draft beer was available on at least 3 mornings as well as certain kinds of liquor. Lobby bar was too close to the disco and theatre making it very loud instead of a quiet retreat. There were also too many people smoking everywhere. The serving staff were not well versed in English making it very difficult to get answers or place an order.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Family vacation

My husband and I traveled with our 6-month-old baby to this resort and we were relatively pleased with the service. Just like most resorts, staff could be hit and miss - some staff were very helpful and some just doing the bare minimum. Beautiful hotel grounds and kept exceptionally clean, especially the pools which I saw them scrubbing every morning. The buffet is pretty good, the only negative was that it was extremely repetitive. There are restaurants but we only tried one (the grill) as we did not hear positive things about the other ones. Room service food isn't great quality so I'd definitely stick to the buffet. The daily cleaning service was great and most of the staff were very friendly and happy to help us with anything we needed. The only other thing that I would say negative about this resort is that because of the way that the washrooms are built, they hold condensation and humidity from the shower so I saw mold in the shower which was gross. And a few of the resort staff kept asking how old we were - and one even made a comment about 'babies having babies' which annoyed us to no end as we aren't actually that young, we just look it. But of course, our age is no one's business.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Nice vacation

We enjoyed are stay here although there some improvements they could make. The resort is exceptionally clean. The grounds are emaculate.Rooms were very nice . Problem with the air conditioner was quickly fixed. Service atthe bars was very slow at times. Buffet was very repetative. Food was often cold. Alacartes were good but hard to get reservations. Both times at the alacartes there were empty seats yet people couldn't get reservations.Over all it was a good holiday.

Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Exceeded my expectations

This hotel was by far my favourite in Punta Cana. This was my 6th time to the area and first time at the grand sirenis. The staff was awesome and easy to communicate with. The food was incredible. Our room was cool and comfortable and centraly located to beach and restaurants. I’d go back tomorrow.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Resort with growing pains

On the positive .nice staff...very clean. ..nice beach..negatives...no character . Poor entertainment...mediocre food..impossible to get chairs at the pool...not enough staff..not enough amenities...hard to get a la carte. Won't go back

Bahia Principe Explore Turquesa: Wonderful vacation

The workers from all avenues of the Bahia Principe from grounds to the chef in the kitchens are fantastic! Always happy, singing while they work! Love going to this resort. Probably 18-20 years. If you are a walker you can walk to the beach and then four to six kilometres on the beach. Food is fabulous, name your drink and you will get it!

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Good resort

We were for third time in this resort. The beach and pools are okay but rooms can be updated. The personal are very nice and friendly. The resort offers a lot entertainment in the evening and we had good time.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: 10 glorious days

We love the majestic . From the moment you arrive into the grand foyer and sweeping stairs leading to lower bar. The people greet you with warmth, happy to make sure you are made to feel like part of their family. I love the grounds, always colourful and well maintained. The rooms are spacious, clean and our maid Olga attended to our needs. The beaches are fabulous, plenty of seating. Bars every direction, and the service is fantastic with numerous great tasting drinks. Although our room was beautiful and the grounds were lovely, there are some other issues we discovered during our time there — 1) no WiFi for first 3 days 2) fridge in room did not work 3) communications were difficult as very few people spoke English 4) beach nice but small and no accessories/floats or anything available
