Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf and Spa: So close to 4.5 star

Stayed Apr 15-25, 2019 Rooms - Reg room- mini bar never refilled for 2 days. Stayed on fourth floor overlooking back of resort, but the lazy river is there and you can see the adults only, so it was ok. Jacuzzi on balcony fits 1 person. Kids used it. Room was ok, but only three drawers, four shelves in closet. So never really unpacked. Bathroom shower leaked, but bed was good night sleep every night, great AC, TV. Room service was basic but 4 star. Upgraded to ocean view with a little pool off [... read more] - same kind of room, few extra freebies in minibar, but pool was awesome and it had a rooftop patio to be shared use with 1 neighbour. ( we never crossed paths) but if coming as two families, the patio up top needs more planters and seating up there, maybe a fire bowl and supplies or radio. Views were awesome up there and it had a 2 person hot tub. Access to bar was 40 steps away. Kids did dolphin swim on site, all in $800 cdn for two kids- 45min was worth every cent! Got two hard copy pictures, a book with the photos ready the following day, all the pic and video they shot, they did an education session, many trainers for the people. It’s expensive but once in a lifetime memories. Food- sucks, only Asian restaurant was 5 star, buffet most dinners and lunches were 3-4 star. Always want to service undercooked eggs, hamburgers, and they do not readily restock items at the buffet. Liquor - 5 star, but ask for it! Spa-5 star- I had a massage( due to room delays, I was compted the massage! Kids for 6yrs and under:5 star Kids 7-13, sucks- nothing for them in terms of kids club( it’s for toddlers only), They have a teen zone but they are strict on not letting younger kids in. There a multitude of pools, hot tubs, and gorgeous area of beach and you can walk a good two kilometres in each direction. We hired a private bus before hand which is not that much considering you get there faster and before a rush of check in, so check in was fast, got to room quickly. Hotel Management 3 star, Bars and Restaurants are understaffed. Call two pick up the room service day and three days later it was still there. No management to fix obvious issues, like enough chairs for the evening projected kids movie, parents who had kids to watch the Grinch movie, and they only had 6 chairs set up and never went to get more, and it happened on more than one night. Landscaping - really, really done well. Pool activities had no inspiration and same thing everyday water aerobics, then water Zumba. Evening bands out in the main area was ok, they had a vender night and outdoor dinner theatre - Pirate themed. Could not find lobster on Site. Had access to adults only, but kids couldn’t be convinced to stay at kids club, for us to go to dinner. I would not return as a family. It has lots of little kids, it’s a resort mean for families with small children. Not for Couples, singles, partygoers, foodies, or seniors liking quiet. Great destination for destination weddings as well, there was at least 7, I saw in ten days. Some of resort was restricted for these events. Location, 40 minutes from airport, and the private van is worth it.

JW Marriott Costa Elena Resort and Spa: Highly recommend

My husband and I just returned and we had an amazing time. Loved the resort but the beach is not the greatest because of volcanic sand and the ocean was cold and we are ocean swimmers. Having said that the pools were very good so it worked out. Food was plentiful and fairly good. Rooms were very clean and staff friendly.

Dreams Dominicus La Romana: It is a DREAM

This was the perfect resort. Food was incredible in taste, presentation and variety. The grounds were impeccable The room clean and big and beautiful. The beach was nice - chairs close together Ppl friendly

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: nice resort - very family oriented.Limited sandy beach area

The grounds were good. The adult area was exceptional. The service was great in all the areas with regards to friendliness cleanliness, and the employees doing the bars, rooms and restaurants were great. The front desk team need some customer service training. When we entered the resort, the first stop is the security. As we had used Canada Transfers, the person working security informed our driver our room was 639. Of course, knowing how room numbers are most often numbered, we knew this was a [... read more]n upper floor. When we got to the front desk, the receptionist told us we were on the ground floor as we booked the deal of the day package? We explained that we would prefer an upper floor room. He said that would be an upgrade. For ocean view, it would be $400 US. By the way, the ocean view overlooks the 2 kids pools and the bars and restaurants...not much ocean. As we were not ready to shell out $800 US for the ocean view, we elected the dolphin view which overlooks the adult area and the containment area for the dolphins. This was only $160 US. We took this and they said to come back to the front desk in about 2 hours for our room information As our room wasn't ready yet, they said we would have to wait which was understandable as we had arrived early. They told us we could use the bars and restaurants. When we went to the restaurant, we gave the hostess our name and told them that our room wasn't ready yet. She found our name and said that we were room 639.It seems odd that in 2 areas where we had contact with other areas that we already had a room assignment that matched but the front desk had other plans? We paid the $160 US just to get on with the holiday...When our room was assigned, we were given room 639. As we said this wasn't an upgrade, as numerous areas already told us that we had this room, they re-assigned us to room 635. Only difference they said was a king size bed. Don't get me wrong, the rooms are very nice and comfortable. Later in the week, because we had made a bit of a fuss over paying for the upgrade, we had a call from the front desk and said that they would like to see us. On the same day when we returned to our room in the late afternoon, we turned on the TV. The picture was gone and was just coloured lines running up and down it. it was an LG flat screen and about 46". As we don't watch much TV, and we had to see the front desk as requested, we figured we would hold off and mention the issue with the TV at that time. When we went to the front desk, the manager came out and offered us the usage of the lounge on the 7th floor as a benefit for the upgrade for the last 4 nights of our stay. She then went on to say that we broke the TV as it was reported by the turn down service. She said that we had either punched the TV or we had pulled it off the wall. As a note, we are 60 years old and not ones who get rowdy or even drunk. I was very upset with this and they even informed us that we would be paying $600 US to replace the TV we broke. Of course, we got into a debate with the manager at the time and ended up not having to pay for the TV. But the manager did say that in that case, the maid would have to pay for it? When we went back to our room that evening, we noticed that in the lower right corner of the TV, there was a perfect circle in the screen. There was no visible damage or holes but a perfect circle in the area. The key point in the review is that the front desk and the staff in this area really need to work on their customer service. This is the first people you meet and they are the first face you remember. As the rest of the staff, they are amazing and are always friendly and work very hard. This is the people who do the rooms, servers, hostesses, bartenders. As for the beach, and we were well aware of the issue with the seaweed. We as tourists are the primary cause of it. I wouldn't complain about it. It is what it is and anyone traveling there should be aware of it in the first place.

Dreams Riviera Cancun: Resort Really Nice

The resort was really amazing, pools were awesome. Rooms were are great size, plenty of room. Plunge pools nice, but not necessarily needed. All restaurants were great. Only downside was the beach lots of seaweed. Would not take a connecting flight or west jet every again.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Decent resort

Overall this hotel was decent. The service was top notch and the food was very good. This is a great place for kids. However, as I read prior to going in another review, the pool (specially on the adult side) really wasn't clean went in it 2 times only and once to tje hotel beach. Unfortunately during our stay there was a lot of seeweed as it had rained in the days prior. Tje staff was working nigjt and day to clean the beach... but really there was so much that it was i.possible to get do [... read more]ne in 1 day... took them at least days. We were lucky as we foind another spot in Puerto Vallarta to enjoy the beach the rest of our stay (thank god!)

JW Marriott Costa Elena Resort and Spa: Wonderful Week!

My wife and I spent a week at Dreams Las Mareas commencing April 8, 2019. We had conducted research on the resort prior to our visit and found the experience to be absolutely excellent. The staff were great, the food was excellent, the resort clean and tidy. The beach was also very clean and great for swimming. We found that there was plenty of things to do and therefore we had an active healthy vacation in spectacular weather. All of these individuals excelled in customer service and made our visit that much more enjoyable. Improvement Opportunities: The hotel provides free Wi Fi. We found it to be very inconsistent. It is great that it is free, but it also needs to work. The hotel sales effort in regard to the Spa and also Wine. Guests do not desire a hard sale on this minutes after checking in. Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Great vacation spot!

Just got back on Monday from Dreams Palm Beach in Punta Cana. Wow! What a great place! We had some seaweed on first day and last day, otherwise beach was clear and the staff were always cleaning is up. There are a number of pools and bars available. Rooms were adequate, beds are comfy, but the pillows were lumpy. We asked for an adjoining room and our request was granted. Yanelys at the reception was wonderful. She explained everything and got us the room we requested. Everything worked, fridge, [... read more] water, toilet, balcony door, etc... A La Carte restaurants were good. French ( adults only) was the best! One of the best steaks I ever had. No need to make reservations. We never waited in line at any of the restaurants. Most people ate at the buffet, which was wonderful too. Lots of variety. Breakfast was the best! For lunch there is a pool grill and beach grill. Pool grill is better by far. CoCo Café always had great coffee, cakes and donuts! OMG, their DONUTS are AWESOME!!!!!!!! We didn't go to the late shows or the disco, but the pre-shows were great! They could benefit from a piano lounge, like at some other resorts we stayed at before. The vendors on the beach are a bit bothersome, but after a firm no they go on their way. There are a lot of loungers both at the pool and the beach. Towel game is in effect, of course, but you can always find a spot to relax, in the sun or shade. All in all, it was a great vacation. We can't wait to go back!

Fiesta Americana Riviera Nayarit: Amazing resort!

The resort had a lot of restaurants to choose from...no line ups the food was delicious! The rooms were huge and I absolutely loved having a tub in the room and one on the deck! Fridge was always stocked and the best part for my husband and is that we got to have room service! And the wait for that was 30 min or less. There was always loungers at the pool and beach lots of shaded areas if you needed and tons of activities to do during the day.

The hotel is set in a beautiful place but far away from airport and other attractions. We really liked the pools and beach activities. Food was amazing, had many many options!! Would go there again. Service was awesome as well!!

Dreams Riviera Cancun Travelled as a family, myself and husband and two children (2.5 and 5years old) First time travelling with the kids after many trips to Mexico. What surprised me the most was the food. I didn’t love it! I expected more from a 5 star resort. We went to the buffet and wondered where the rest of it was. Small with little selection. The basics were there. We didn’t go hungry and what we ate was fine - we were just never wowed. The restaurants were just ok. Skip the tacos at the Mexican restaurant. They weren’t good. We’ve stayed at other chains with far better food and selection. I def expected more from Dreams in this area. Because of the food, I likely would return to this resort if we found an amazing deal. The good outweighed the bad. We had a great week with loads of family time by the pools. I think the resort expects everyone to eat at the restaurants in the evening but this isn’t always ideal with kids. More variety and selection in the buffet would put you a step above. Dreams Sands Cancun Resort and Spa: average resort

hotel very old,grounds well kept very clean,Most dinning is very good,service is good also. Beach area is quite small for hotel size..not enough palaps for shade.people tend to leave towels on lounges but aren't using them so other guests can't find a open lounge.

I seriously applaud Dreams for this one, the hotel was a take over built either 63 or 65, can't remember for sure. Anyway that was only 5 years ago this summer. The footprint of this resort is small, but my word services offered do not suffer. There was only 2 things needed fixing, that's pretty good in my eyes. Maria at the front desk in the lobby your smile, the way you look after multiple people at one time but each guest feels valued and looked after, thank you. Lastly I want to thank Lazaro at preferred beach for looking after us, no matter where we were. And two exemplary bell men, Gerardo and Raul truly sweet young men and super hard workers, not Armando Vega famous but on the way. You should definitely visit!! Fiesta Americana Riviera Nayarit: Amazing resort

Everything was really nice. Stayed a week and was very happy with our stay. Great food with lots of variety, very clean rooms and grounds. The pools and beach area were cleaned every morning (almost too clean as the workers were always walking around you). Service was excellent everywhere you went!

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Very good resort

Everything at the resort was A-1 From cleanliness to friendliness, the facilities and staff were incredible. We never had a bad meal and our overall expectations were exceeded regularly. Our one and only hiccup came when we inadvertently got caught up in a “Holiday Club” presentation we had no intention of joining.

Dreams Huatulco: Huatulco

The hotel was nice but had a few big drawbacks. There was only one tennis court and it shared the same space as basketball court. I was only open from 7 - 10 am bc it was located above the spa. This was very limiting for our family of 5. We would like to play tennis st same time as boys played basketball ( not possible) plus you needed to reserve the court the night before and often it was already booked. I definitely would warn people of this very frustrating facility limitation. Also the [... read more] restaurants were often closed ( only 3 choices and 1 being the buffet). Finally there is no swim up bar which was very disappointing. Great location though - awesome beach and nice big pools located right near beach which was a big plus.

Overall, the resort is small and perfect for families. The staff provided good service. The food could be better. The grounds were nice and cleaned, daily. As for the rooms, they are nice but have a musty odour.

Dreams Dominicus La Romana: Super clean & friendly resort

The resort was small but had lots of chairs by the pool. No rush to get up early to save a chair. Always clean everywhere in the resort and I felt safe at all times. The staff was so helpful and friendly- especially Ramonsito in the restaurant. I would go back to this resort anytime.

Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa: Great Resort

Really well kept grounds and very pretty The room was spacious and clean Pools were good. Beach was quite crowded and not very big Staff was delightful , friendly and very hard working. They probably needed a few extra staff members in all the restaurants considering the number of guests Excursions were surprisingly expensive

Dreams Dominicus La Romana: A great spot

Awesome food...super clean and perfect attention to detail...drinks were cold and the sun was hot...rooms were spotless. Staff were always available and the room service was fast and a nice touch..would definitely go back to this resort
