Ocean Riviera Paradise: Excellent Family Resort

My family attended the ORP in late January and stayed in an Eden Junior suite room. My son and daughter aged 9 and 7 respectively, had a great time at this resort. Room: Eden Juinior Suite - Garden View. The garden view was a nice quiet break from the busy days. The room was well appointed and decorated with comfy beds. No problems with humidity, just keep the patio door closed. Lots of room to hang clothes and put in drawers. Nice double sinks in bathroom and separate shower and toilet stalls [... read more]. Jacuzzi tub takes about 30min to fill. Negative - patio lights turn off around 1030-1100pm and then the WiFi. Can remedied by dragging a lamp out to read a book if needed. Very few mosquitoes at night. The resort has 900+ rooms but never felt too busy or crowded and usually never waited long if at all for a restaurant or lounger. I think the key to not waiting for a restaurant and better service was to show up for the initial opening time. It seems like after that they became more disorganized. Enjoyed the odd shuttle bus to bring us up and down the resort. As a family it wasn't worth it to buy the 'priviledge' perks for higher end booze and restaurant bookings. Our favourite restaurants were the Mexican and Italian. Route 66 was a disappointment with bad service and the steak at the Steak House was some sort of mystery meat in my opinion. Didn't really taste like beef and quite fatty. Might be too spoiled with high grade beef in Canada. The buffet was a great staple restaurant and had a small nightly flair such as Italian or British, etc. but mostly the same things day after day, but a good variety and didn't get sick of anything or sick at all for that matter. The beach unfortunately had some rocks amongst the beach sand that you bumped into when you went into the ocean and were hard to see due to the turbidity in the water as every day was a red flag day and had waves. We managed but it was not ideal and most likely just part of seasonal winds. We brought our own snorkels but never attempted due to this. Walking the beach was easy and you can go pretty far especially to the North. Only had an issue finding a sun lounger one day and just dragged two chairs from the nearest pool without issue. There were several pools and spent most our our time at the pool with the waterslides and the Eden pool. The resort kids activity crew did an excellent job and not too pushy to get kids involved and kind. Prises were often unique snacks and t-shirts. My kids attended the older kids club which had a few gaming systems, a pop machine, board games and Foosball. Very chill and laid back. The younger kids club was more of a daycare with group trips to the ice cream shop etc. The resort has a little strip mall section with stores, a casino, and the ice cream shop and Café. We enjoyed the ice cream shop and Café daily. The entertainment at the theater was quite well done and entertaining except for the poor transitions between acts with the lighting a sound crews, at little amature on their part. The performers themselves were great. The kids really enjoyed the magic show. The entertainment in the plaza pre and post theater shows was kind of lame. Probably the best talent was karaoke night from fellow travelers, lol. The face painting was fun for kids, but show up early if interested, as they give out tickets and only paint about 20-25 kids faces then leave. After checking in to the resort is the classic membership speal over complimentary drinks in the lobby bar and offer for a tour after a breakfast booking. I suggest you just smile and decline their offer and begin your vacation then get wrapped into a salespitch. They understand and never hasseled us again. End thoughts: Had a great time as a family, ate a variety of foods, and enjoyes the beautiful resort especially interacting with the monkeys and coati. We had a good time off resort on an excursion to Tulum ruins and swimming in cenotes and a visit to Playa Del Carmen via cab. Felt comfortable and well taken of.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Beautiful weather, an ok resort experience

We booked with Sunwing and stayed at this resort in February 2023 for 8 days. We paid for the Privilege upgrade. Overall, we had an ok experience but this resort is at best a 3.5 star. This is NOT a 4 or 5 star experience, regardless of what some reviews indicate. Positive - Layout of resort is nice, easily walkable for those without mobility issues - Pools are nice, grounds are generally well-maintained. Pool closer to beach is louder in the morning but quieter in the afternoon. - Buffet [... read more] and food in general was good, there were a lot of options available at all 3 meals - The cafe (Mike’s) was great for a nicer coffee - Catamaran excursion with Tours Point was the highlight of our trip! - Our resort’s Sunwing rep was extremely helpful and responsive to our questions - Housekeeping was timely and well-done throughout our stay - The lobby bar is beautiful - a fun place to hang out in the evenings and have a drink, play cards, etc. Neutral - Restaurants were ok - we ate dinner at all except Route 66, and enjoyed the Mexican the most. The Privilege breakfast was often not worth the time spent, as we found the service to be incredibly slow (50+ minutes waiting for food). - The room was fine - as we had the Privilege upgrade, our building was closer to the pool/beach and I assume has been more recently upgraded. Air conditioning was great. We received a room on the first floor, facing a service road, with 2 double beds. We requested a change, but they were unable to accommodate our request for the duration of our stay. - Lounge chairs - the towel reservation game is strong here. If you are looking for a spot at the pool or beach, especially with an umbrella, you need to be up at 6am. Easier to just play the game then to try to scrounge up chairs later on. - Entertainment - for those who enjoy this aspect of resorts, the team here is full on, high-energy for most of the day. Not our taste but we saw others enjoying it. This resort is not quiet! We enjoyed the Super Bowl event. Negative - Timeshare Presentation - we were taken to this meeting under the guise of receiving a tour of the resort on our first morning. Ended up in a timeshare presentation and it only ended when we walked out after an hour. Incredibly dishonest and annoying! Word of advice - do not agree to a “welcome breakfast” or anything of the sort, it’s not worth the promise of a free couples massage or your valuable vacation time. You can tour the resort easily enough on your own. - Privilege upgrade - we did not find this service to be worth it. Our Butler was non-existent for the majority of our stay (we never met him, he was only available on WhatsApp) and we ended up making many of our dinner reservations ourselves. We did not receive many of the items listed (bathrobes, etc). The Privilege lounge was ok and we appreciated the clean bathrooms. - Beach - we spent very little time on the beach, aside from actually swimming in the ocean or walking up the beach towards other resorts. Erosion has had a major impact on the beach, and while the resort is doing work to rectify it, it’s not very nice to look at and they have a pump running all day long. There were constantly vendors on and surrounding the beach property, which was a bit off putting. We noticed other resorts nearby did not allow these vendors on their beaches.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Ocean Coral

Nice resort, clean, good sized rooms, great daily housekeeping. Our bathroom sink was plugged when we got there, called reception, but no one showed up. Next day called again, this time telling them it was running over (which it was not but could have been if we used it for another 5 minutes)., they showed up right away. We were using the hide a bed in the room. but it did not have bedding, this also took 3 calls to get bedding. Lounge chairs on the beach are mostly very dirty and broken, ch [... read more]airs around pools good. (they must dump the chairs that are falling apart on the beach). There are not enough lounge chairs around the pools for the amount of people at the hotel, If you have kids and are staying at the kid pool there is lots of chairs there and hardly any people, but you are far from everything else and bar service is not great there. Most staff are very friendly, helpful and polite, EXCEPT at the check in counter, customer service areas. The staff there are rude, they just want to sell you an upgrade. They are nothing more that salesmen wanting to nickel and dime you to death. They will try to force you to book trips with them, buy the upgrade packages, waste you time on tours of the resort etc. Our group was very turned off by the staff here, one of the reasons we would not go back to this line of hotels. Booking of restaurants very hard to do. You must use their website, lucky a few people in our group brought their cell phones. We normally don't travel with ours as it is too expense outside of Canada. There is two websites (?) to book restaurants through, one works better than the other. Booking opens at 9 every day and is full by 9:10. So you need it be paying attention to time, and you can only book for that day. THAT IS UNLESS YOU PAID FOR ONE OF THOSE UPGRADES they are trying to sell you. Which I think was an extra $30 per day for everyone in your group. Then you can book for the whole time you are there in advance. The beach is narrow, lots of seaweed, they try to clean up everyday. Not the resort fault as all hotels along the beach seem to have the same issue.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: My vacation in Mexico

The hotel was very nice, clean and staff very friendly. The rooms were spacious and the cleaning staff did a good job. The grounds were looked after very well. The pools were kept clean but getting lounge chairs was difficult unless you went down to the pools before 8:00am. My one main complaint was that the food in the buffet was not very hot.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Nice Resort, but not if you want to relax!

I travelled with my Wife in Feb 2023 to this resort. It was our 2nd time coming here. 1st time was shortly after it opened in 2018 with 2 other couples. This resort had a lot of Pro's The Food at the ala carte's we tried was very good. Japanese, Italian, Route 66 , Steakhouse (was just OK, I ordered the Rib Eye, and it was basically a salty piece of flank steak, with lots of fat) Food at Buffet was good, but they always seemed to be short on staples. Fries, pineapple, Bacon (If you love  [... read more]Bacon, this place is not for you. it was WAY undercooked, and was always empty) Grounds were nice and clean, Rooms were cleaned early, and often. Lots of towels available (No towel cards, bonus) Staff were all AMAZING. Anything you wanted, they would make it happen. We had Privilege service, and Lily was our Butler. she was fantastic 4 large pools that were always clean, with lots of chairs to sit anywhere Few con's It's not a large resort, Beach space is at a Premium, and the spots that are there, are all crammed in. Swimming in Ocean was not great. Lots of seaweed (i know not the resorts fault) and a lot of Rocks/Coral in the ocean in front of this resort NO QUIET PLACES. this was our only real one complaint. As a cpl in their 50's we do enjoy some quiet, relaxing times to read our books, or nap if we wanted. That could almost never happen. There was an Adult only pool, but there was always loud pounding music, or there were inconsiderate people that were playing their own music on Bluetooth speakers. Hey guys, no one wants to hear your crappy music, get earphones!! There was a nice pool on the Privilege side, but that was also full of screaming kids. Not sure why parents don't take their kids to the giant kid pool where they could splash and scream all they want. It was not enough to ruin our vacation, but it was a bit of an annoyance overall.

Ocean El Faro: Nice Resort!

This hotel was very clean. Always taking care of the grounds and the public area. Our rooms were huge and the maid service was good. The food was a bit cold at the buffet. It was hard to book at the restaurants, but the food was excellent. Improvement could be made at the snack bars by the pools, the food was left outside in the heat and not covered. It is a huge resort and their could be more shuttles. The front desk could be more efficient ,we arrived late late at night, 1:30 and they told u [... read more]s on our own to find our room, we were told go straight out the front door if you hit the water you have gone too far. Nice! Our luggage was delivered an hour and half later. Beware when booking trips,we booked through our Air Transat Rep at the hotel, the Catalina Island tour was the worst excursion ever. Do not recommend..... At this resort they were always trying to sell you time shares .(People in white shirts).

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Excellent resort - lots of fun

Resort was nice and modern, rooms were great, pools were nice and the lagoon to swim was excellent. I have been to many resorts in Punta Cana. A special thanks to Danielito and Johnson from the entertainment team. They provided exceptional services. Johnson is pursuing his studies in mechanical engineering- smart, young talented man and although he has only started on the resort approximately one month ago, it seemed like he was a long term pro. As single women travelling, it was nice to have a dance partner outside in the plaza area. I met great people from all over. Primarily Canadians and Quebec and Americans. I have never laughed so much in my life. So much fun. The room service was excellent. Our cleaning lady on the 3 floor of building 11315 in El Beso did special folding of clothing and paid attention to detail. She went above and beyond basic service. Louis and José who drove the carts around the resort always stopped to pick us up. They brought us exactly where we wanted to go. Like every Caribbean resort there is always a few room issues, and our toilet would often not work. I have never seen such quick plumbing services in any other resort. Of course we left a good tip for these guys, which most people forget about. The room bar was stocked every day to our liking. I never had an issue booking an a la carte restaurant but pushed the reservation button exactly at 7 am on the link. In terms of restaurants- The salmon and the Chateaubriand at the Blue Moon international food restaurant were cooked to perfection- not over cooked. My compliments to the Chef, as I am a picky eater and usually only eat at the best restaurants in the city. I read a lot of negative reviews so I was pleasantly surprised. The Sakura Japanese restaurant (our chef was John) was lots of fun and again the food was not over cooked. The portions were huge, but almost all the people finished their plates. I loved the scallops and salmon, but the chicken and beef were also excellent. The Margarita Mexican food was also good and we sat outside which was very pleasant. The best pool for activities and social bar on the el beso adults only side is the back one furthest from the beach. On the el faro side, social is best at the lazy river bar. The lazy river was great. We bought pool hammocks on Amazon and they were great. They are really compact for the suitcase. Never laughed so much- I even lost my voice- first time ever. The Pez restaurant is the quietest and offered a nice buffet pretty much all day long. Some of the evening meals are a la carte and no reservation required. It was quiet there. The meat was cooked to perfection- juicy and not over cooked as most buffets and snack bars. It is on the beach. My girlfriend was alone and fell on the sidewalk in the afternoon and was seriously injured. A worker picked her up and brought her to the Doctor Lorian Peral at the main reception building. She received exceptional care and went by ambulance to the hospital. Almost a dozen head stitches, three fractures in her hands and a finger, and really bruised up. She was not impressed with the hospital or services. She was back that day stitched up and with a cast. Resort staff provided excellent service- the Doctor provided a follow visit the next day and the cleaning lady was really attentive to her needs.

Ocean Coral Spring: Excellent resort, but SLOW service.

Excellent food! Had absolutely everything you’d want. Their Jamaican jerk sauce was fire! Excellent pool! Excellent entertainment! Very friendly staff! Cool extras like lazy River and bowling lanes. Beach is even better than we expected. Disco was active! Children’s splash pad was incredible! Two massive shortcomings - coffee shop was subpar for what I’ve seen at other places and service is SLOW. ONE AND A HALF hours to get your main course slow. 30+ minutes at times to get a drink fro [... read more]m the bar. It’s Jamaican time. I get it. But with 2 kids it just made dinners unenjoyable as they would get tired and were ready for bed before the dinner would even be served. Drinks at dinner were so slow I even went over to the sports bar to get drinks for my wife and I one night as they hadn’t arrived after one hour of initial order. Having said that… food was worth the wait. We went to al of the a la cartes - the ribs and brisket at Route 66 were to die for! The butter chicken at the Indian restaurant was delicious! Our server even made a special spicy sauce with bonnet peppers on the side for us that was awesome! The tapanyaki spot was excellent. Great service and funny chef! But it is hot in there with poor AC and only 2 fans. Italian and sugar cane were okay. Overall, I’d go again but the service was truly painfully slow, especially with kids.

Ocean Coral Spring: The good, the bad & the ugly honest review

Privilege was a rip off, only benefit was not paying for room service. Only one day we received service on the beach. Our butler was little to no help. Found a BIG cockroache hiding in our room. Not the best...

Ocean El Faro: Good resort

We booked privilege and well worth the money. The resort is clean, party pool is entertaining, staff is very friendly and helpful. Loved our roof top room. The only complaint is that it is very windy. I’m not a beach person but I do like to walk the beach. Went down a couple of times and felt like we were getting pelted by the sand blowing. Other then that it was a lovely resort.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: very good

we had ocean view with balcony , very nice , food was great at all the dinning places. Pools were clean and lots of activities. Staff was very good to us as well. Menus and reservations are on QR codes that work great. Good deals in the resorts store as well. The shows were very good to. Love the wildlife there as well.

Ocean Eden Bay: Great resort

Grounds were very clean and well kept. Rooms excellent. Big. Well stocked. Shower excellent. Jacuzzi bath. Very convenient to pool, beach and restaurants. Didn’t have to reserve restaurants, which was nice.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Nice resort but service left a lot to be desired

Resort is very nice but service and food left a lot to be desired. The best food we had was off of the resort. Housekeeping didn’t even clean the rooms, all they did was make the bed and empty garbage. Bathrooms and the rest of the room weren’t cleaned or wiped down the whole time we were there. They even re-folded dirty wet towels that had been left on the floor to be changed. Wait times for drinks at the bars was long and the caliber of the entertainment was terrible. Ocean Coral Spring: Beautiful Resort but!

I I have to say the hotel is beautiful and the lobby is absolutely gorgeous. The rooms were nice and large clean nice big balconies lots of closet space and drawer space. TV also had excellent quality which I was surprised by. The pools are very nice little cold but they were really nice. I was not impressed by the beach at all it was very Rocky and full of seaweed the kids still had a good time playing in the sand but other than that it wasn't very nice at all. We booked three nights at restaurants two were absolutely terrible but the Japanese restaurant I would recommend it was amazing the food was great the people were very nice and friendly and they put on a nice little show , the kids really enjoyed it. As far as the bars go they run out of things a few nights they ran out of vodka and beer the only thing they do have lots of of course is rum. We were not impressed with the service that we received there it was very slow and like I said they ran out of a lot of things and every time you ordered a drink from a different bar it was made differently. I have to say I did not find the people as friendly as the last time I was in Runaway Bay in Jamaica the people were very friendly but here they didn't seem that nice maybe they were overworked I'm not sure. All in all we still had a good time but it is not a place that I would go back to or even recommend to anyone I would give it a three-star at best

Ocean Eden Bay: Nice resort

Resort was very nice but unfortunately they do not cater to older people. They did not have any shower bars in shower witch is very important for me. Not very good entertainment same thing every day. Food was delicious. People were very nice booked double beds but got a king bed. Don't like sharing. They insisted that's what we ordered.

Ocean El Faro: Amazing Vacation

The hotel had a lot to do. The beach was very wavy and had some rocks BUT there was a cove just north of the property that was sandy and had gentle waves. The lighthouse had breathtaking views of the area.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Best resort ever! Fun and peaceful holiday!

This was a magical holiday. From the second we arrived we knew this resort was a gem! I was travelling with my husband, children and their partners. The staff were spectacular! At check in, Fernandez (sorry if I spelt your name wrong) recognized I had mobility issues and changed our room to a central location. He also noticed I was upset but made me laugh and got me a margarita! Room was spotless and housekeeping were amazing! The bed was amazing and really appreciated having a couch in the ro [... read more]om! We had a cat sanctuary that we could see from our balcony. Loved it and how well the cats were taken care of! I love cats lol Animation team was so fun without being intrusive. Restaurants, we got to try all of them and that’s rare a resort. Every restaurant had a hostess that would enquire about food allergies and sat everyone well spaced. I have a ginger allergy so I felt safe eating whatever I ordered. The servers were spectacular! A level of training you rarely see! Lobby bar servers in the evening were an absolute joy and made you feel so welcome! Check in and out was so quick and efficient! I would return to this resort forever! Thank you one and all for a memorable trip that I relive daily! Mucho Gracias 🙏

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Good hotel

This was a third time in this hotel and a lot changed.The rooms need upgrading the air conditioner is working on the same temperature all the time.You cannot control the temperature. We did have somebody coming to fix it but the same problem.We had a one blanket in the room on our arrival during the night we were freezing. The front door lock did not work the same for the balcony door.The internet is not secured by password ,you have to have a VPN. When I did complain about he internet the per [... read more]son at the desk told me it is because of clouds.The hotel is catering to privileged client .The food is excellent the grounds are kept really well.The beach is ok to much weeds and rocks going to the water you need shoes.Still ver y nice resort for the family. I hope they will learn from the complains .Not a 5 star like they advertise.I would give give them 3 till they improve.

Ocean Eden Bay: Nice Resort - 4 Star

This was a nice resort. I would not class it 5 star, but a 4-4.5. Food was very good in the a la cartes. Most staff were very friendly and accommodating. Like anywhere, some more than others. Had issues with keeping bars/restaurants stocked. (supply chain issues we assume) Even the "Priviledge" bar that was supposed to have the top shelf liquor, ran out - no Vodka several times. We went with another couple and we both had Privilege rooms. Ours was not exactly what we expected, but had [... read more] great butler service and the room was clean. It lacked basic supplies that were stated in the brochure (that we paid for), but our butler was able to get most items for us. Our friends room was higher up with a better view, but their butler service was lacking quite a bit and they were also disappointed on the supplies. (working fridge, iron, hangers - we both had one each)

Ocean Blue and Sand: Awesome Vacation Resort!

This resort has spacious, clean and well kept rooms with great housekeeping staff. The food at the buffet, a la cartes and snack bar is better than any resort I have ever vacationed at before. The pool is very large and can accommodate many people. Relaxing at the beach was great, however, the beach itself has eroded due to weather. The only draw back, this is not the resorts fault, is that patrons reserve loungers with their towels at the pool and beach, but do not use them. This causes a  [... read more]shortage for other patrons. If you want to use a lounger, you have to be at the pool by 7 am. We would definitely return to this resort for another vacation!
