Secrets Royal Beach: Wonderful vacation!

We just returned from a week at Secrets Royal Beach, Punta Cana. It was an amazing resort! Our room was beautiful, the food was great and the beach was beautiful. We definitely recommend going with the Preferred Club accommodations. Having a separate beach area was a definite plus.

Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: good resort with a few glitches

Secrets Capri is a good resort with great service. The room is comfortable if a bit small. The food is great, and the staff really try to please you. Couple of things I found distasteful is that the resort tries to sell you tables around the pool area for dinner in order to watch the show. In an all inclusive resort this shouldn't be happening! Also, the cabanas on the beach and around the pool are not included in the resort. They charge $70 US per day for the use of the cabanas!!!! I giv [... read more]e this resort a 4 star based on this. Had they included the cabanas , I would give it 5 stars.

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: Fantastic resort

We loved our vacation at Secret Silver Sands. The food was especially impressive. The service, whether at any restaurant, at the pool or at the beach was very attentive and friendly. 15 to 20 minutes from the airport which cut down on travel time to and from the airport.

Secrets Huatulco: Amazing resort

Views are spectacular. Resort is beautiful. Staff were super nice and very very efficient. Rooms were clean. Didn’t like the way the taps spayed water. Good choice of food. Spa was incredible! Loved it!!!!! 2 weeks next time!

Secrets Playa Mujeres: Amazing Reaort / Bad food

This Reaort was amazing and beautiful but the food was terrible and there service for preferred was also terrible... would not go back to this resort and paid 12.000.00 for this trip was a waste of money.

Secrets Huatulco: Excellent staff, good food and amazing views!

My husband and I had a very enjoyable week at Secrets Huatulco during the Christmas holiday. We were happy with everything this resort had to offer. Staff were very friendly throughout the resort; they went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. We ate at a different restaurant every night and the waiters were all excellent. For lunches, we mostly enjoyed delicious food in Castaways - special thanks to Marco and Antonio! We also visited CoCo Café almost daily where Olivia would make great [... read more] Espressos or Americanos for us – big thanks to Olivia for her exceptional service! What’s also special about this resort is its amazing views. The complex was designed and structured to maximize the ocean views from every angle possible: from restaurants, bars, rooms to hallways and even elevators – very creative and thoughtful!

Secrets Royal Beach: Beautiful Area & Staff

I have stayed at many, many all inclusive resorts over the years, and have accepted that there will be mostly good, and some not so good parts of all of them. And I am not a complainer. That said, I was actually disappointed enough in the food this time to write it down. And the only reason this time is that you sell this resort as a 5 star, and it is not that. It may have been at one point in time, but it is not any longer. However it was very obvious that the food in the a la carte restaurants was for the most part an extension of what was on the buffet, dressed up on a plate, and or some concoction that was put together with ingredients from the previous day's buffet items. This is not the expectation of what a person should see on a menu in a 5-star resort. Some crossover is acceptable, and expected, but this was too much. The only exception was the Seaside Grill which is a steak restaurant, and that you could not fake. But the rest were very disappointing. Seafood restaurant was the biggest let down, in a place where seafood is plentiful and fresh this should not be. I don't even know what I was eating. And what is with the Asian restaurant having falafal and baklava on the menu?? Last I checked the middle east and asia are pretty far away from each other lol! We didn't even bother with that one. Again, this is odd for me as I take things in stride and accept that the food will be good, and that there will be options always, but I had to provide my feedback this time. Please reconsider your rating for this hotel. You are not providing accurate assessment of this property with a 5-star rating. I have been to 4 stars with better food options than this, and got what I had expected. If you set the bar at 5-star, you better be sure the resort can deliver. On the plus side, the resort was very lovely and well kept, and the highlight was the staff who always greeted you with a smile. A shout out to Israel and Santa in the Italian restaurant bar. They were a lot of fun, with a couple of evenings of well poured, top-shelf beverages, and their enthusiasm and smiles. These two are a definite asset. Overall a good vacation, disappointed in the food for the first time in the 6 trips I have made to the DR.

Secrets Huatulco: WE LOVE SECRETS, HUATULCO

Having enjoyed our first stay at this amazing resort back in March of 2016, my husband and I decided to treat our 4 adult children (and their partners) to a Christmas vacation. From the moment we arrived on December 16 we knew we had made the right choice. The wonderful staff greeted us with a cool face towels and cocktails and our check in process was quick (the way I had remembered it). All, but one ("Oceana') of the restaurants served delicious meals and there were plenty of 'gluten and dairy free' options for my daughter. Plenty of poolside and beachside activities, along with tennis, nature walks, etc. provided plenty of things to do for everyone. The Spa is outstanding and I'm sure the experience was one that we will all remember for quite some time. Thank you Secrets for not disappointing us. I'm sure we will be back :)

Secrets Royal Beach: Beautiful, Comfortable but not yet a 5 Star

We have travellled Mexico and the Caribbean extensively over the last 30 years therefore we believe we can give an honest review of Secrets Royal Beach. We enjoy adults only resorts and have now been to six different Secrets resorts. This resort is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are immaculate and very pretty. We arrived on Dec 9th, the drive from the airport was very comfortable, and short. Our room was not ready when we checked in, however, we expected that as it was just after noon (our fl [... read more]ight was very early in the morning) but at 3pm our room was ready. Well worth the short wait. The room was well appointed, spotless and very pleasing not to mention very comfortable. Thank you Ana Rosa for doing a great job (rm 4310). We stayed at the beach the entire week during the day. It was perfect. Soft sand, great palapas for shade and very comfortable loungers. We had read that the vendors on the beach were bothersome, but we didn’t find that at all. A few approached us but we just said “no gracias” and away they went. The water was murky the first few days due to rain the previous week but cleared up half way thru our vacation. The only complaint we would have is that there is only 1 restroom for all the guests on the beach. More are needed. Suggestion: move the photo booth to the lobby and put in more restrooms. The pool was just a very short walk from where we sat on the beach. It was surprisingly cold to get into but after a few minutes felt good. It was clean for the most part, however the lazy river could use some scrubbing. It looked like algae was starting to build up under the water level. The lazy river is great to float around or even walk through. A very big negative for us, around and in the pool was the smoking. Many times we saw people smoking IN the pool. This should be outlawed immediately. Ashes are dropping into the water (gross) and people are waving their cigs around and could poke another guest in the face. We know that the DR allows outdoor smoking but other Secrets resorts have designated smoking areas. There is nothing worse that sitting by the pool and someone nearby lights up a cigar. Not only is that inconsiderate by the other guest, but the hotel should step up and ask these people to refrain around non-smoking guests. Answer: designated smoking area. Keeps the pool area clean, odor free and all guests happy. The foam party was awesome, but again we saw other guests smoking during this fun event. Simply an accident waiting to happen. Moving on. We were extremely happy with the Seaside Grill and The Himitsu restaurants. The food and the service was awesome. Jenrry, Juan Carlos and Edisson made our day. Great service from these gentlemen. The ribeye in the Seaside was to die for. Comparable to The Keg here in Canada. Soooo Good! The hibachi table was fun. We went to The Himitsu our first night and watched the hibachi tables and saw that Edisson was the best so we booked for his table when we went later in the week. He did not disappoint. We had a fun time with him. The buffet, La Riviera was somewhat disappointing. Unless you went to the omelette bar, the eggs sitting out, as well as the French toast and pancakes, bacon etc were cold. You had to get them and take them to the omelette bar to get them heated up. It is a smaller buffet than most of the other Secrets we’ve been to. All in all though, the food was good tasting. We would like to thank Juan Duarte , Rudy and Liliana for their great service. All in all, our vacation was very positive. The weather was simply fantastic. Our only real complaint was the bar. As Canadians, we drink Canadian Club rye whiskey (CC). The Secrets brand advertise top shelf spirits, however this Secrets either didn’t stock it in their bars or kept it hidden. Then they would try to pass off bourbon to us. We even had a server roll his eyes at us when we asked for Cc and sprite. Generally their answer was that they didn’t have it. We had read on TripAdvisor before we came that management ask that you go to see them while you are on your vacation rather than complaining about it after you are home, so we went to a manager, Raquel about half way thru our vacay. For the rest of the week, all of the bars gave us no attitude and always had this liquor, except the pool bar. They actually had some hidden below in a cupboard, told us they didn’t have any, but once we mentioned Raquel’s name, all of a sudden they had a bottle available. This type of practice brings the overall guest experience down. We love the Secrets brand so this type of behaviour is unacceptable. Guests are paying more for this brand than other resorts so please don’t nickel and dime the guests. We would like to thank Raquel for assisting us in getting our Canadian Rye Whiskey. It tastes so much better than bourbon! Our stay was very relaxing and comfortable. We would rate this resort a 4. Im sure if the smoking and the bar service was addressed on a daily basis, it could rise to a true 5 star in no time. It certainly has the foundation to become great. Until the smoking issue is addressed, we will likely continue our journey to other Secrets before returning.

Secrets Huatulco: Better than expected, nice natural setting

The resort is nicely spread out on steep slopes around a small, quite private bay, with wonderfull views from everywhere. It has very well kept and clean grounds, beach is great, pool long enough so that one can have a good swim. It was a bit too steep going into the ocean, though, but on the far-left side of the bay (no lifeguards there) it was much better. It was really good for watersports, too. The climate is quite dry there, I was amazed how confortable we felt even though the max temp. was around 30 Celsius. The only funny/weird thing was the partially transparent glass doors to toilet and shower ... right from the entrance hallway ...?!?! and a sliding half-wall towards the bed ... we are no perverts ... we had a small incident.... Otherwise, it was a great vacation, we'll be back.

Secrets Cap Cana: Nice resort and great location

Secrets Playa Mujeres: Fantastic stay!

We stayed here from December 9-18th and from the minute we arrived the service was wonderful and staff friendly and helpful! Our room was a standard room but was large and clean, comfy bed and beautiful tub and shower. It seemed as though almost all of the balconies faced the pool or ocean so there weren’t any bad views. The beach and pools were beautiful and the pools nice and warm, and hot tubs actually hot! The gym was great, new equipment and Victor was by far our favorite staff member [... read more]. He was extremely helpful for being the staff assigned to the gym....he was like a personal trainer!! Thanks Victor! Food was great and drinks were fabulous; the French restaurant had the best French onion soup I have ever had! You will not be disappointed if you stay at this resort!!

Secrets Huatulco: Incredible

What an amazing resort. You feel pampered from the moment you arrive. The service, rooms & food were beyond my expectations 👍I would highly recommend this resort - you won’t be disappointed. Great location with its own private bay

From start to finish secrets was an amazing time.from the friendly staff to the great food and beautiful grounds. Your sure to love secrets silversands. I would definitely recommend this place and can't wait to go back.

Secrets Cap Cana: Our new favorite

We went for a short three night stay and were very happy with this resort. Usually when we go away, and we’ve been to many resorts in several countries, we feel like to always give up something. Either we don’t like the beach or the pool or the food or the commute from the airport or the service. At Secrets we were happy enough with all of these areas. Not our favorite beach ever, but a very nice beach, our favorite pool, best service we have had anywhere and the food was very good. The only thing we could complain about was that the hallways were quite noisy sometimes from the room and we had to put towels and pillows at the base of the door to block out the noise. Bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.

Secrets Huatulco: Excellent resort

From the time you enter the lobby, the views are breathtaking. The grounds are immaculate and the service is amazing. Staff are all very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are beautiful. Beds are very comfortable. There was an issue with one of the light switches on our 2nd day and there was someone there to repair it within 10 minutes of making the call. It was wonderful not to worry about having to make reservations so you [... read more] had several choices depending on what you felt like eating. Bordeaux, the french restaurant was my favourite. Having an a la carte option for lunch at Castaways was quiet with spectacular views. So serene!!!! . Having the cafe open 24 hours was a excellent touch. I enjoyed being able to order a cappuccino to take with me when i went to the Sky Bar to watch some of the most spectacular sunrises that i have ever seen!!!! We took part in the Tamezcal which is an ancient Aztec ceremony. I felt invigorated after even though it was so hot with 14 people in this little domed sauna. The swedish massage was very good. My husbands experience was just OK, however we both absolutely enjoyed the complimentary 90 minute hydro circuit before the massages . My husband loves to body surf . We discovered Playa La Bocana which is very close to the hotel where the waves were amazing. He does not like to go back to the same resort because there are so many beautiful places out there but I would love to go back and because of La Bocana, I might be able to convince him. The only thing that we noted that needs to be improved immensely is the nightly entertainment.

Secrets Huatulco: Beautful resort

The hotel was extremely clean. Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. The views were beyond beautiful. The food was good. The restaurants, it was nice we don't need reservations. The buffet needs more variety and would nice if it was open for dinner. Room service was really good and quick to serve. Housekeeping only one complaint the night turn down service was done really late i.e. 9 pm. Other than that we would not hesitate to return.

Secrets Cap Cana: Incredible!

We will definitely be going back to Secrets Cap Cana. The Customer Service was outstanding! Preferred Area was amazing. Rooms are beautiful! The only thing lacking was the nightly entertainment but that is never the focus of our vacations.

Secrets Cap Cana: Fantastic beach!

The beach was outstanding. Amenities and rooms were very good. Food could have been better, as it was hit or miss. The resort was very busy when we went so this impacted the service level, which was still very good.

Secrets Vallarta Bay: Great Week Away

This hotel is a great spot located very near to Puerto Vallarta downtown. While on the same property as the Now Amber, there is great division between the two and we never saw any children (Secrets is adults only while the Now is for families) in our week's stay there. Food was great with our favorite being the French restaurant. Finally the Preferred Club bar has great top shelf liquor with great service. Thanks for the great week Secrets!
