Nice

We did not have a great beginning or end to trip. No room that we booked when arrived and no private car to leave. Royal service was ok at best. Out butler tried to make it better. If your looking for a true ultra inclusive. This is not one. Ok for Cuba.

Not what I expected

Not A five star when it came to the food. The lack of spice garlic and onion along with The same food at the buffet every day really lacked quality and flavor. The beds were also very hard in the room. 😩 The grounds were perfect and the service was very good, also the shows were extremely professional but much work is needed in the food department before they can call that five star

Paradise (Except the food)

The hotel is beautiful, clean, and very classy. Well organized, we had our room key and was ready to roll witching 15 minutes of arriving at the hotel. The highlight of this trip was the beech. Crystal clear water and white sand. I have a chronic pain condition and have never felt better in my life, I have to believe that saltwater has many therapeutic properties. This hotel is not for partying, it's pretty quite and older mature clientele which was fine for me but if you're looking to party hard this is not the place. They do advertise wifi but be advised that wifi is not available in the rooms only at the front lobby to which you will have to purchase a wifi card for 2CUC for one hour. And the wifi will not work with Samsung devises, iPhones work fine. The big downfall to the trip was the food. I found most of the food unedable, ate mostly fries and fruit the whole week. Eating the meat offered is like rolling the dice. Not sure what the meat was and food safety practices found here in Canada do not apply there. The person running the grill only has one pare of tongs and will pick up your cooked 'meat' to put on your plate seconds after using the same tongs to pick up raw meat to grill for another guest. I didn't eat the meat but my wife did and had stomach issues most of the week. I would recommend bringing some snacks as you will not be able to find any there. I don't blame this hotel particularly for the food as they are just working with what they can get and after going though the town and also speaking to other people at other resorts it's all the same, they just don't have access to good products. My goal was to get away and relax and I accomplished that so the bad food didn't ruin my vacation. Staff do appreciate tips although I found they appreciate items more. The country is very supressed as to what they have access to and even if you give them money they don't have many options on what they can buy, so they really appreciate everyday items that we take for granted. I gave a nice guy a pair of adidas saddles and I can't explain how appreciative he was. the Cuban people are very nice and I would say Cuba is one of the safest places in the world you can go. You can go anywhere anytime without worrying. All and all very nice vacation.

Disappointing, not 5 stars

Gorgeous beach, (mostly) friendly staff, calm. However, the quality of the food was lacking (the food was pretty awful, there were insects in the buffet and I got sick, the restaurants are basically the same food). Also the room was not very clean (a lot of stains). We ended up coming back early bwcause I had food poisoning. Overall, I am very disappointed, I paid 2000 for 2 and I regret not going somewhere else like Jamaica (it would have been more expensive but definitely worth it!)

Great facilities

Though the hotel and facilities were spectacular, I found the staff to be a little on the unhelpful side. Maybe it was because I traveled in the off-season, but the staff did the bare minimum of their job requirements. That being said it's hard to argue with such an amazing location. Also Havana is a must see city!

Very Relaxing

The hotel was a great spot for our getaway. Pool and beach were both very nice. Just looking to relax, it was the perfect spot. Food is good and we really enjoyed our a la cartes and our lunches at the Rock House. The staff at these spots were outstanding. Poolside, beach bar and lobby staff also did a great job. Room was nice but I thought our cleaning staff could have done a little better.

Great resort

This was a very nice place to stay , friendly staff , great food . Drinks not made consistently throughout the resort and room was a little musty yet still very clean , some of the stores on the resorts couldnt sell things for days because they couldn't make small change , seemed odd to us when we were told we could go to the bank in town and get ones and threes. Would definitely return next year

Quiet resort for Adults only!

The restaurants à la carte are great! We have been to Bamboo (Oriental), Marseilles X2, and Sakura (Japanese). Super good,delicious, good service! No face cloth, water, only 1.5 litres mineral water, some bathrooms were not very clean.

We had a wonderful vacation at Princessa Del Mar!

Overall, it was a very nice experience. We normally choose smaller resorts and although this one was quite large; it did not feel that way and it was not crowded at the pool or throughout the grounds. The restaurants were good, the landscaping was very well cared for and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We would recommend this resort to a couple interested in an all adult facility.

Great value

Beaches and room were fantastic. Guest services were also very good. Only complaint was the cigar bar and the area where the shows were held where the bar service was very slow and the bartender always made the wrong drink. The Japanese restaurant was awesome! Great meal and great staff!

Would go again.

Good value for the money. Did not want for anything, although they did not have orange juice or coffee one morning at the raquet club where we preferred to eat breakfast. Service was very slow at the Raquet Club but the staff was very friendly.

Second visit!

Great service, great beach and wonderful location. We decided on this resort once more for the excellent value. The staff is amazing and friendly and we would definitely return once more in the coming years.

Beautiful spot

My husband and I had a great stay at this resort. The staff were great and the food was actually decent. The buffet had a great selection of fresh meats and seafood which they grilled while you waited, most nights they had a pasta bar and the desserts and breads were always fresh. The grounds were nice, always clean but require some maintenance in areas. The beach was great, lots of loungers( get there early though), great bar staff and lots of activities to participate in. The only thing I actually complained about while there ( which is a silly thing) was the strength of the drinks....way to much alcohol for my liking. According to the bar tenders....alcohol is cheaper than mix!

Definately not a five star!

Our experience was average - not five star. Our room was not clean when we were permitted to check in. The chambermaid mopped the floors but our feet always got dirty just from walking on the floors. I don't think the mop and water had been cleaned. On two days we didn't get any water in our room. One evening they ran out of drinking water at the resort. They resorted to sparkling water which was all they had. One day there was no beer left in our fridge. When we came back to our room at the 5pm [... read more], we had called and requested that they bring a beer, they brought a warm one. The food was below average, but I understand they have limited resources. They do try hard with what they have. The a la cartes were better than the buffet, but marginally. The Spanish white wine was disgusting. The Chilean was decent but hard to get. Even when I asked for Chilean, they served me Spanish. The Buckanero beer was good. The beach was amazing! The drinks were not very good. I only had one Mojito that I would call good. The others were really inconsistent. The beach towels were ragged and soiled. The entertainment at the restaurants was very good and the night shows were very good! On our last day there we had to check out of our room at noon, but our bus didn`t go to the airport until 5:15pm. So we were able to reserve a time to shower at the spa after spending the afternoon at the beach. We had reserved 4pm. They didn`t have availability when we arrived for our shower, so we waited until 4:20 when they sent us to a suite in the building we had been staying in. It was their barrier-free suite which had been used by many people and was dirty. We had to shower with soap and shampoo that had been used by others and there were no towels. My husband tracked down a chambermaid who was able to give us one towel which we shared. Overall our experience was disappointing. I would give the resort a 3.5 star rating.

Wonderful Holiday Princea Princess Del Mar

The resort needs some serious TLC but as we got a great deal it was worth it. I felt bad that some people spent much more and can understand their disappointment with some parts of the resort. Overall a great holiday. I would book again through Trip Central as our agent... Tammy was fantastic every step of the way!

Great Beach

Location to Havana was good , which is our reason for choosing the hotel. We were a little disappointed in the lack of general maintenance to the resort (none of the fountains were operating and the standing water could be a reason for the number of mosquitoes). The food choices were surprisingly good for Cuba. The nightly shows were very entertaining and the best I have seen at any all inclusive. Great Resort - Great Food

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of food Cuba now offers, great resort close to Varadero. Excellent beach and pools. Book your restaurants early as they tend to fill up, the hilltop restaurant in particular is very good.

Ups & Downs but Good Overall!

While some of the restaurants absolutely excelled (such as the French - themed Marseilles), the majority were pleasantly mediochre. A notable exception was the "Italian". The food was consistently cold - from soup to lasagna - and generally tasteless. What's more, the service was surprisingly bad. The rooms were spacious, well - appointed, and clean. However, be careful what you leave out lest the chamber maid mistake it for a "present". The nightly programmes have some wonderful elements to them but after the second time seeing the house dancers, I was bored to tears. Overall, the facilities do show their age but I would definitely not call them run-down or unacceptable. The exception is the large conference room. The beach is fantastic. The best pizza was presented by a very earnest fellow from "Raphael"s. I wanted to give him a separate plug because his pizza absolutely was the best I have had,.

Awesome resort clean and very friendly staff !

There was a lot of rain no buddies fault !! Went the restaurants closed down in between breakfast , Lunch and dinner they all did at the same time !! Other than that everything was top notch !! The specialty restaurants that we booked at where very nice treat !!
