Sunscape Dominicus La Romana: Great Resort!

We were pleasantly surprised; we expected an Ok resort but was amazed by the friendliness and energetic staff everywhere. From reception with Angel who did his utmost to find us a very nice room, to booking restaurants with Ingrit; both very professional, helpful all with a smile at all time! We were impressed by the buffet; always fresh & abundant with lots of variety! even cream cheese & peanut butter was available for the North Americans lolol! Nice activities & shows at night (if you wanted to participate) but no hassle by staff if you didn't. We were expecting no more than a 3 star hotel /Cuban style - we got much, much better! p.s. great if you are there New Years Eve; we got Party at the beach plus great fireworks - very, very nice! Weare Cadaques Bayahibe: Fabulous

We thoughly enjoyed our stay.We were a family of 5, us 61 and our children 28 29 30. Everyone enjoyed the food, the ambiance, and the best New Years party we have ever been to.Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Sunscape Dominicus La Romana: Horrible roach infested resort

This was the worst all-inclusive experience of my life. Roaches in the main buffet dining hall, rats roaming the dining hall floor, same food everyday. Beach was the only redeeming quality of this resort.

Sunscape Dominicus La Romana: Great vacation spot!

A non-pretentious but comfortable, beautiful and energetic hotel. We went there to surprise my parents who were already there so we didnt know where we were going or what to expect. It was our first resort experience as well, since we are of the backpacker type. The beach was beautiful, water warm, sunsets unforgettable, the people friendly (helped that we are fluent in Spanish) and the food delicious - lots of choices for a vegan/vegetarian diet, which we were super happy with. Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Fun place

We were a family with 2 young kids and we spent christmas at the hotel. The beach was very nice though people claim its murky. Its simply because of the sand. Kids had an amazing time with the figferent shows they have. Staff are very nice and room clean. Food was good too.

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Beautiful, clean and well maintained resort

The resort itself is beautiful. Rooms are clean, food is incredible, beach is meticulously raked all day. Water is not as blue as you may be expecting, and all excursions require a boat ride or a bus ride out for more than one hour. It is the only resort that is on the beach so quite private. Great for couples or families.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Nice hotel, non suitable sea water!

Nice, clean, pleasant, ideal for relaxation, helpful staff, decent food. The hotel is located in a bay area attached to the family section, sandy, clean beach, but dirty sea area / location, not suitable to swim, snorkel, etc.

It,s difficult to write about this hotel because it's not finished The personnal is very gentle. but we waited a long time to have our room the pool are large and the spa also It,s very clean 9( the room and the place)

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Similar to other Luxury Bahia Principe resorts

We've stayed at 5 LBP resorts now and this was worst location we've stayed at. The hotel chain does a nice job with everything under theiron control. The beach, flies, sand flees, wasps, bees, cock roaches and sewage smell were the worst part. Room great. Services great. Food mostly great. Okay for a pool vacation but I would say the we will not go back.

Dreams Dominicus La Romana: Dreams Dominicus, La Romana is the perfect sized resort !

This brand new resort is beautiful.... or should I say will be. Give them some more time and the resort will be done. Amazingly calm turquoise blue water & a bay you can walk for miles. The Dreams chain of resorts exceeds all expectations with their personalized friendly & helpful service. This was my fifth time to a Dreams Resort and the food is always great. With construction still underway with some rooms we were not given our Preferred Ocean view room. Instead we were given a swim up  [... read more]room which suited us just fine. [Nov 25 - Dec 2 2016 ~ theater & disco not open] All in all we will be back to this resort ~ but maybe in a couple of years when everything is completed and all the hiccups are ironed out.

Sunscape Dominicus La Romana: Nice beach!!

Hotel rooms were modern and beach was beautiful with plenty of chairs, entertainment was good. Most of the bar and buffet staff were slow and sometimes we didn't even get what we asked for. The ala carte line was half an hour long because they only accept bookings Sunday AM. This should be better managed. The full daytrip we booked to Saona was spent at a different island for the majority of the day and only got to enjoy saona for 45 min. Be careful before you book any trip and ask questions. Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: beautiful resort

The resort was of medium size very nice and clean the rooms were very spacious and the staff were very pleasant. The food was mediocre at the buffet but the food at the LaGourmet and the steak house was exceptional. I had no problems at all to complain about just did a lot of drinking and relaxing. The guys at the pool bar were great, tip them well and you will never go thirsty the lobby bar was a little "stuffy" if you know what I mean but all was well. They had 9 holes opened up at the golf [... read more] course a little rough but working on a champion 18 hole coarse. $20 us after 1 to play 9 that includes cart, clubs,balls and transportation pretty cheap for a fun afternoon. the bay was very nice to walk on if you go to the left not much to look at if you go to the right only vendors that hound the hell out of you bought a few things from them, do not pay what they ask you can talk them down to a third of their asking price. was a little far from punta cana airport about hour and a half give or take straight highway.

Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus: More Lobster Than You Can Ever Eat

The Hotel is older but immaculate, cleaners, pool boys, and gardeners every where, repairs that were needed were completed within hours . Huge selection in the main buffet, Japanese restaurant, was fun missed the Mexican, Steak house is the one on the beach used for lunch. The Colonial was superb the first week an absolute disaster the second week, The beach and sea were remarkable, highly recommended I can not remember the last time I have seen such a clean beach. Dreams La Romana: Great time at Dreams La Romana

We had been to the Dreams La Romana in Nov 2015 also, so we knew what to expect. The resort is the perfect size for us. The service from all staff was terrific. We stayed 14 nights. Those staff with whom we dealt most learned our preferences and anticipated them. We stayed with the preferred club this time (as opposed to 2015) and in our minds, it was worth the upgrade. The resort itself was clean. The washrooms everywhere were clean. Staff are always doing something...there is no idle time. The beach was private so there was no hard selling by people. Water was clear. The water was calm. The staff are what really sets this place apart. I would definitely return for a third time.

the first day was a challenge. my air conditioner clanged and creaked until it finally died, leaving pools of stinky water all over the floor. i was given a new room and it was perfect. the staff were wonderful and friendly and the a la carte restaurants were exceptional for the ambience and live music, although the food was overcooked and stale. the buffet was varied enough not to be boring after 7 days and the front desk kindly let me stay in my room until shortly before my shuttle left for th [... read more]e airport ( after i reminded them how awful my first day was). for an older hotel, it was very nice and i recommend it to anyone looking for a piece of old fashioned tourist accom ( the 1000 room hotel next door was frightening!) with friendly, helpful staff, beautifully kept grounds, lots of play areas for adults and kids alike.

Sunscape Dominicus La Romana: GOOD, BUT COULD EASILY BE MUCH BETTER

Well, where do i start ? i will start with the good. the check in was smooth and we were greeted with a cold beverage, the room was very clean, linen fresh and a variety of soaps and shampoo provided, the grounds were well maintained with ducks, peacocks and other birds wandering the grounds, the pool is quite large, reasonably clean but as per the season there was quite a few little nats floating in the pool, the grounds of the resort have lots of little paved paths to wander around the resort, [... read more] the beach area has lots of seating and loads of shaded areas, ocean had very little sea weed and you could walk out quite a distance, lots of sea life to see here, saw more on the hotel beach than on my $100 snorkling trip so bring a mask and flippers. All the staff were great, even though its all inclusive bring some $1s , a buck here and there gets you faster and steadier service, i found out it was about 80-90% european when i was there and they traditionally dont tip, so a tip is noticed, my breakfast waitress (i sat in her section every day) had my coffee even before i sat down, just the way i like it. The evening entertainment was fun but typical for an all inclusive. Now the bad, my only complaint was the food, and i know the dominicans can cook but this hotel cut corners on the menu and put items out as far as i can tell to fill up the trays to make the buffet look full, in the 2 weeks i was there i did not find bacon, a decent ham or sausage on the breakfast buffet but i did find meat balls, chicken wings, carrots, broccoli, stewed beef, and an assortment of pickled veggies, at the end of 2 weeks i was dreading the buffet, i was joining the throng of other tourists wandering around looking for something different to eat. Now for the resturants, the oriential was not to bad and was a fun meal with them cooking in front of you, the gourmet was the best, the brazilian was hit and miss but found usually something was being served raw or burnt, the mexican was not good at all, their idea of mixed grill, beef, pork, chicken, salmon, grouper is to mix them all into one discusting mess, over all the food was better than cuba but not by much, i did however have a few good meals but you have to check out snack bar and the buffet and choose wisley, All considered i do not think i would recommend this hotel as there are so many that i have been to in this price range that are much better

Catalonia Bayahibe: Generous and professional resort staff

The staff continued to pleasantly surprise us with their attention to detail, patience, thoughtfulness and friendly generosity of spirit. We truly were treated as their guests. Kudos to all of the staff of this resort: reception staff, bartenders, food service staff, cleaning staff and animation staff for entertainment. Thank you all.

Dreams La Romana: Beautiful setting😊

Loved the beach and resort lay out . Staff were outstanding, went out of their way to make our trip enjoyable. Food was good, Olio and French restaurants very good. Rooms were nice and very clean, but not well insulated, could hear noise and voices from neighbours. Need to employ a wrist band method to screen guests from using Prefferred bar and hallways- spoils relaxation for guests who prefer peace and quiet. Nightly entertainment is mediocre - loveusoc would be a great asset.

Sunscape Dominicus La Romana: Pleasant and Relaxing Resort

We have travelled to many resorts throughout the region. This resort is one of the finest we have visited so far. Upon arrival, we could not help but notice the cleanliness of this hotel. The check in staff was very professional. Our suite was very elegant and well maintained by the cleaning staff. Although we only utilized the buffet, we were well pleased with the variety of dishes and the professional service we received. The bar service was fantastic. Nightly entertainment was excellent. We went in April and there were a lot of people. Beach was crowded but nice and clean. Food was good service was ok. The rooms were a little bit small for a family of four. Overall we had a good time even though the weather was not perfect.
