Casa Marina Reef Resort: Good resort

I think this is a nice resort. The food was decent some nights better than others ? the a la carte restaurants had no AC so we ate quickly and left again food decent. The drinks ok, stay away from the wine horrible ? on a positive note the staff and the view’s fantastic! We chose this hotel because of price and close to city. However pretty good for a 3 star hotel. If you stay the entire day at a resort this is not a good option. This hotel is worth it if you do activities outside of resort.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Renewed Love of traveling!

We never do reviews but we had such an amazing time we thought we had to! The GOOD…. Service was better than we could have asked for! The BAD…. The resort is a little dated and can use some tile work but extremely clean and well kept. The AMAZING…. FOOD!! Buffet was awesome morning noon and night and the snack bar always had fresh fruit, burgers, fries, dogs and some of the best chicken wings!! You will want to go back. We do and we will!!

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Amazing resort

We were fourth time in this place,very nice people,very friendly.we like everything about this place. We would like to say thank you everyone who works there.Start with Oscar who does amazing work recognizing his staff,also he is making us to feel like we are home. Thanks Rosa who’s a great waitress,Nicolas who works at the beach in a small bar,chef at the Ocean Grill restaurant,he makes the best steak and all his food taste great. Very clean and safe place .

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Yes

Very beautiful resort, delicious food, just the kind I love to eat , dessert was delicious, fruits were the best, dinners were excellent, beach was very relaxing, the water was clean and crystal clear. The pool was very clean, the chairs by the pool were sanitized every evening. Toilets were cleaned constantly throughout my stay there. Service was the best. Highly recommended for both adults and children.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Nice resort food was not good nor service

Just came back from this resort very stunning the resort is really big with great views the only thing I did not like was the food menu as breakfast was the same every single day and lunch dinner was different everyday though. Also staff wasn’t that helpful we wanted to order beers to the room they wouldn’t help us out also staff doesn’t speak English well so it was very big miscommunications all the time. Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Struggling to find itself

Before COVID this place was awesome - it WAS adults only and a classy fun place. Now they have switched to a family resort and the locals invade every weekend and they DO NOT like tourists. They keep removing items that were offered before - no more room service - no more bath towel and slippers. The hotel is struggling to figure out who they should appeal to. The hotel was hosting a Vacation Boot Camp conference when we arrived which helped the food selection and quality. The conference end [... read more]ed and the tomatoes went from beautiful red to green and red. Management seems disorganized and wasteful - they made staff setup two days for a pool dinner when we clearly had rain rolling in - both times it was rained out and switched to the indoor buffet. Reception Manager Miguel should be demoted for his inability to understand customer service and loyalty to repeat customers. Other staff are frustrated with his personality too. On the other hand Animation Manager Rafael would be a great replacement and a friendly replacement for Miguel. Staff that made the vacation good include Orelvis, Oscabelly, Yanet, Tony, Juan, Darwin and Omar. A another special thank you goes to Andrea in the Spa - always friendly and a superstar in our eyes. In conclusion - if you want Adults only with Wyndham go to Samana where you will be happy.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Nice relaxing resort

Good hotel if you want to relax by the pool or beach. Not many people so there were no activities during day like we wanted.and like they advertised. Made up time by swimming and doing a couple of excursions. Only had 9:30 event nightly. They were good. Highly recommend VIP. No reservations, has its own air condition building to have a drink, enjoy some snacks, coffee. Also VIP area at buffet and beach were nice. Free room service. All food at buffets and a la cartes are not for picky [... read more] eaters. If you eat everything then you will love the food. Good thing there were fries and burgers at snack shack beside beach. Room service food was good for picky eaters too. Wifi only worked on our balcony, hallways and beach and buffet. Also got great wifi at VIP building. Beach water was cloudy but still swimmable. Nice no peddlers bugging us. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Fridge didn't get stocked daily, even with VIP. No blankets in room so can get cold with fan and air conditioner on.

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: Great Family Resort

The resort is not big, however it's a beautiful resort to stay. Clean grounds and kept well. Food is great, lots of varieties of food in the buffet restaurant. Staffs are friendly and activity entertainment are amazing. It's a wonderful family resort. The price is worth it!

I went on vacation with my sister, my 18 year old niece and her best friend. Our Tripcentral Rep Colleen made the whole booking experience seemless, taking care of any of our questions promptly and keeping us up to date on everything. Thank you!!! The hotel grounds were very clean and beautiful, especially the walk to the beach through the lush, tree lined walkway path. The restaurants and food were excellent. There was something for everyone and we were able to try all but the Blend restaurant. We all loved the little cafe that had iced coffee, hot beverages, wraps and pastries. It was nice when we wanted a snack. Our favourite meal was the huge bbq the one night, out by the pool. So much to choose from and delicious! The staff were always willing to help and when we needed something, we were able to ask with no problems. The beach was very clean and chairs were always available. We had no bugs until the last couple of evenings, but we had bug spray, so it was a non issue. The entertainment was very good. There were several beach vendors, but it seemed to be controlled as you were told to remember their shirt numbers if you wanted something, but if you said no, they didn’t continue to bother you. Saying that, there were several of them. Our only disappointment was that the pool was dirty from Monday to Thursday when it was cleaned and chlorine added and we used it the rest of the time.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Perfect size resort!

Our first impression was how welcoming the staff was. Each and every person was helpful, accommodating, and happy to see you. Our roo. Was perfect, no complaints. Large pool for families and a quiet pool for adults. That pool was amazing. Each had beverages of many, and never rude if a tip was not given. Food was very good at the buffet and alacarts. Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata: Great time

My daughter and I had an amazing time at this resort. Resort is well maintained, had lots of events happening in the week we went and a beautiful beach. I lost my wallet once, phone twice and it made it back, that goes to show how safe this place and staff are. I would recommend this property to anyone.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Okay resort

The hotel was okay. I found the room was not as clean as I've experienced in the Dominican Republic. I aslo found the food selection was not great. The Buffet served many of the same dishes each night and the A La Carte Steakhouse was not a great experience. I was rushed in, served really quickly and rushed out, whole experience was 30 minutes and the food was prepared in advance and not fresh. It was a very quiet experience, which is what I was looking for, so it all worked out.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Iberostar Costa Dorada - Apr 29 - May 14th

We had an amazing 15 days at this resort. First time at this hotel. The food was excellent from buffet, snack bar, beach BBQ and Ala Cartes. Great selection. Pi zza and steaks were amazing. Their seafood paella made on the beach was so yummy. The animation team was excellent keeping guests entertained with the games that were scheduled in the morning and late afternoon. They also had dancing and the entertainment team mingled wirh the guests. It was alot if fun. I will definitely go back.

We loved the resort. It’s small, the food is good and staff are so amazing. Loved the entertainment team. Rooms were super clean. Beach was nice. Loved the mexican restaurant and the Italian as well.

We just returned home from a 2 week stay at Blue Bay Villas. We had a lovely time at this all adult resort. We have travelled throughout the caribbean and what makes this resort unique and memorable are the people they employ. They were very gracious and kind! We appreciated the beautiful lighting and the design of the lobby. The grounds were beautifully kept with orange Indian jasmine bushes for colour. There was a quiet elegance of days gone by. We found the rooms to be dated; however the resort is starting renovations this summer. One thing of note for us was the bed. We found it very uncomfortable. The beds are very firm. Hopefully with the reno they will be replaced with a more comfortable mattress. The food was good with fresh fruit, fresh salads, grilled meat or fish being offered every day. There were also traditional Dominican dishes offered each day. We stayed in the quiet area by the spa and enjoyed the relaxing zen music. The beach was fine . They had lots of beds and loungers with covers. Vendors did approach us and we politely said no and they left. We didn’t find them to be harassing at all. We enjoyed the entertainment! Three of the nights there was a sax, piano player and singer in the lobby. The Mr. Blue Bay competition was hilarious. The entertainment staff worked hard each day to offer fun activities and events. Presently I would rate this resort as a strong 3.5 star because of the rooms, bed, safe and the 2nd person had to pay for wifi. We hope to return next year.

The resort was nicely layed out. The room we had was a non-updated room. Could certainly use updating. Slight musty smell but was told by travel representative that’s standard with the high humidity. Food was really good. Pool was large with lots of loungers as long as you got there early. Beach was disappointing. Seaweed and garbage floating close to shore. There is ongoing construction on the one side of the resort during the week with lots of noise. Service was good. Kudos to the maintenance man as we had a few issues with the room - mini fridge not working, broken shower wand, leak I ceiling of bathroom and power to our room being blown. Those issues were quickly fixed. NOTE: controls for lights, fan and air conditioner are on the headboards behind the pillows.

Everything is perfect Will go again My daughter been there 3 times. Going on your own is safe The little Café Place is so much fun. People there are really nice I have nothing negative. 7 days to 10 is enough cause a small quiet place

Hotel was nicly maintained, food was very good. Very busy by the locals who come in especially on the weekends an have no problem cutting in line and bringing in speakers an blaring there music. Not many activities. Beach was closed 5 out of the the 7 days we were there and closes at 6pm. Adult only pools not inforced or lit up at night very dangerous as there is needs to be a sign saying go in with both feet. I went for 7 days to the Iberostar Costa Dorada. I had a good time, but the weather rained for the whole week, which put a damper on the vacation. The staff was polite, respectful, helpful, and not pushy. The food was good, with a lot of selection. The pool was big, and entertainment during the day was great. Nighttime entertainment was not anything special. Some issues were the lines at the bar. You would have to wait ten minutes for one drink, and they would only have one bartender. However, the rooms were very clean. The beach is not great, and the grounds could have been better kept. The pool wasn't very clean but was dirty, too. Overall, for the price we paid, it was an excellent resort, but it wasn't anything special.
