Allegro Cozumel: AMAZING STAY AT COZUMEL

The hotel grounds are ultra clean. The staff was great and ready to help through out the hotel from the reception, to bars, to buffet and restaurants to maids. The food was delicious for people who like fish THIS IS THE PLACE. There's always something for all tastes. Older rooms are OK. We asked to change into a family room and it was renovated and a lot of space it was perfect. We were with Air Canada for the first time. Allegro Cozumel: A Great and Accommodating Experience

1. Staff and customer service is top notch, in our opinion. 2. Resort is gorgeous, beach is amazing with tons of stuff to check out while snorkeling and there's a great mix of things to do. Lots of lizards around the grounds and other local wildlife. Quick taxi services and beautifully situated. 3. For a resort, the food was way better than expected. We are also vegan, which makes matters a little more cumbersome at times. Good restaurants in Playa del Carmen (a short ferry ride away) and good variety on the resort. *Enrique was the best staff member there, always smiling and ultra helpful! 4. Book activities while you're in Cozumel. We scuba dived, did snorkeling tours, parasailed, ATV'd through the jungle - and it was all totally worth it. Locals are friendly and helpful. 5. Cons: Timeshare people in the hotel lobby, expensive Wi-Fi service, rooms that could use some finesse (and minor mold removal!) Allegro is great, overall and we would return in a heartbeat.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Beautiful island

The hotel was good. Pool was great. Rooms were small and had a musty smell but overall a great vacation. We would love it if they added a bigger kids play area. There is only a small park and no water features.

Allegro Cozumel: Excellent

The resort has 2 swimming pools and one splash aria for kids,very clean .Garden is impeccably,clean rooms and good food.I think every fussy eater can find something to eat,is buffet breakfast ,lunch and dinner but you can choose dinner in one of 3 Ala cart restaurants.The beach is with soft sand and clear water..no gelly fish no corals. The resort is a paradise for Scuba divers lots of coral reefs.

Secrets Aura Cozumel: Beautiful scenery relaxing resort

Resort colourful loved the palm trees. Restort is clean relaxing food was good. Steak Hamburgers. The Buffett not enough selection sometimes cold. Beach sand a Little coarse. You require water shoes or there are two paths to walk thru the coral reef to clean sandy beach in the ocean. Overall everyone was pleasant and available to assist you Very friendly Excellent resort. Will go back again.

Zel Cozumel: Fantastic Resort!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Melia. Wonderful fun and hard working staff, comfortable and clean room, the beach is a dream, beautiful waters, great snorkeling, lots of activities for people to do, tons of shopping options in town which is within a very short distance, loved the atmosphere and the people! I plan to return to the Melia next year. I met some wonderful people.

Sunscape Sabor Cozumel: Friendly,casual resort

We had a great vacation at Sunscape. The best thing was the snorkelling right off the beach. The room was average with a poor view (staircase). The bathroom was in need of new fixtures and water leaked all over the floor when using the shower. Maid service was good. They need more people during check in. We met many friendly people from Canada and the US.

Grand Park Royal Cozumel: VERY GOOD HOTEL

I don't have many cons about the resort other than I wish it had more of a beach and that it was easier to walk around the resort. It has a cobble like finish and was very hard to walk on, as it dipped in places, and some stones were missing. But the food, the people, the cleanliness, the assistance was all above board.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Overall, disgusting!

We were disgusted by the smoking, eating and drinking that was allowed everywhere, even in the pool. There was nowhere that you could escape the smoke, and rules were not enforced. Need segregated areas for smokers so that they don't "kill" the non-smokers and the children who are at the resort. I don't feel that the young children were safe in the pool because of the drink glasses and plates allowed in there.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Perfect place in Cozumel - Iberostar!

Hotel rooms: Very colorful 1 or 2 floors little buildings hidden between the trees and gives you a great privacy feeling. There is a hummock for each room. WiFi is free and strong, no extra for the safe box!Very welcoming upon arrival with the great fresh drink! Restaurants are great. 3 a la cart restaurants and 2 buffet. Food selection is great. Pool area and the beach area are very close, there is many seats so you will never need to look for the seat. There is a show on the beach. At the Lobby from 8 p.m life music and 2 great singers David and Brenda. Grand Park Royal Cozumel: 4 star service!

Loved the resort, it's compact and that means no long walks to rooms, beach or snack bars... Excellent food, loved the ice cream cafe... Shows weren't very good compared to other larger resorts so that was a disappointment . .theatre seating was concrete too..no padding to sit on . .should have cushions...same for beach loungers...

Sunscape Sabor Cozumel: Great Resort

We had a great week at the Sunscape Sabor Cozumel Resort Apr 9-16. Transfer from airport very smooth, checked in without a hitch and our room - although garden view (parking lot view mostly) was in a very convenient place to all amenities. The air conditioner was not the best but we don't spend much time in the room anyways. The resort itself was beautiful, all restaurants oceanside and the sunsets gorgeous. Secrets Aura Cozumel: Nice Resort but still needs some improvements

A Secrets repeaters, we felt that this result isn't quite up to the amazing standard the other Secrets have. Service in the Windows restaurant at breakfast and lunch needs addressing. (very slow service) The market café buffet needs some serious attention (ie its small and doesn't have anywhere near the selection the other Secrets have). The SkyBar was also an excellent bar with sensational views of the sunset. Pools were lovely. Beach not so good but if you go into the ocean via the dock ladder, it was awesome. Sunscape Sabor Cozumel: Nice location, great food and staff

The property is very nice, very lush grounds. Nice swimming pools, lots of lounge chairs by the pool and beach. Our room was old but clean. The A/C was ok, not great. Our room was very humid and everything was always damp but that's what you get in 100% humidity. Dehumidifiers would be great. Restaurants were decent. Only had the outdoor BBQ once and wasn't impressed with my very undercooked burger. The beer was good but I found the blended drinks to be very artificial/chemical tasting...gross t [... read more]o be exact. Beer, pop, wine and water were good choices. We liked the Seaside Grill at night, the pizza place and the international buffet were all very good for dinner. Breakfast was decent and similar to other all-inclusives we've been to. The staff were very friendly. The area in front of the resort is great for snorkeling, paddle boarding and kayaking. I loved that we could do these activities with no extra charge. I would stay here again.

Grand Park Royal Cozumel: Beautiful resort!

Very tropical resort and clean! Service was good. My cousin and I went for her 50th birthday and we had a great time. Maybe a bit more food could be added to the evening buffet. I would definitely go back.

Occidental Cozumel: Beautiful Resort!

This was a beautifully landscaped and the grounds were very well maintained. The beach was lovely and great for walking and snorkelling. The pools and pool areas were very clean. Only thing lacking was shade both on the beach and around the pools. More umbrellas would have been a plus. The food was very good and there was always a great selection. Staff were very friendly.

Allegro Cozumel: Gorgeous Resort!

Just returned from an 8 day stay at the Allegro Resort and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. This resort is rated a 3 1/2 star but it was at least a 4 or 4 1/2 star resort. The grounds were gorgeous and groomed everyday to look their best. The food was better than I expected and customer service was great. The staff made sure to make every visitor feel welcome. Cozumel is a very relaxing place to go if you just want to get away or if you feel the need to shop, it is also close enough to do some shopping too. Our Tripcentral agent, Nicole Kirk, did a great job helping me choose this resort and I was not disappointed at all. I will definitely be returning to Cozumel next year to continue my ventures.

Grand Park Royal Cozumel: Good but no workplace equality

Generally, this is a decent resort. The negative for us was that the beach was not very big - it's really small! It would seem that there is no natural beach at the waterfront of this resort, but that they've trucked in sand. This area of Cozumel is very 'reefy'. However, the payoff here is that the snorkelling right at the resort is very, very good. You can see all kinds of different fish and marine life, we enjoyed that. As well, the resort has made up for the fact that there isn't much of a  [... read more]beach by having pools and decks right at the waterfront. However, the whole waterfront area tended to be a bit crowded and closed in. The rooms are quite fine - nothing super fancy, but it is bright and clean and the beds are comfy. The food was good, not great. There is always stuff to eat, although I've been to other resorts were the eating was a bit fancier. Overall, fine though, just not over the top. We enjoyed the mexican and italian a la carte restaurants. The drinks were fine, nothing to complain about in that department. A big positive in the drink/food department is the coffee bar where you can get espresso drinks and at this place they also have ice cream! You can get iced coffees made with soft serve and espresso - tasty! The service and staff were friendly and attentive. My complaint regarding the staff is that all of the servers are men (this is a complaint about the management, not the staff). No women are hired to wait on tables at this resort or work at the bars; I did not see one the whole 7 days I was there. There are women working at the resort in other capacities (like at the front desk, restaurants hostesses and cleaning), but it seems quite sexist in the sense that only men are permitted in the positions that would provide the majority of tips. I would also guess that 75% of the employees at this resort are men. This is quite noticeable and something the management should strive to change. I would not go back to this resort on this ground alone. Times have changed, albeit more slowly in developing countries, but I think this particular resort needs to really look at its hiring practices. While there are some things we didn't like (small beach), overall we enjoyed our stay here. You can't go too wrong booking this resort, unless you are totally focused on a big beach and long walks on the beach or if you care in a substantive way about equality in the workplace (don't go here if so).
