Melia Puerto Vallarta: AVERAGE RESORT - PRETTY MUCH RUN DOWN ROOMS

Nice location the resort is located, however the rooms are very much of a run down overall. The bars are absolutely a mess Entertainment was good, the lobby normally is always a vibrant place, this was dead.

Friendly Fun Vallarta: Average hotel, great experience

Hotel was ok for what we paid for! We had a great time. Food wasn't great tho staff frendly...DJ blasts electronic music non stop for most of the afternoon. Nightlife non existent. This is a family resort

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Excellent value for money

We have stayed at this resort 5 times and other all inclusive hotels well over 30 times. We travel to the PVR area 3 times per season. For it's price this resort is excellent. We love the gorgeous long beach and the boogie boarding and swimming. We sometimes choose a more expensive adults only and are disappointed in money spent for the little if no difference. We do find this resort not as great as it was but that could likely be due to the shortage of staff which is a worldwide issue.  [... read more]The staff is great with some super stand outs that make the extra effort. Lorena at the front desk, Antonio on the beach (when he isn't getting your chairs and umbrellas he is constantly cleaning up all the debris left by people on the beach ), Jose and Karen at the beach bar, Isabel in the buffets, Yesi in the piano bar, Rafael the restaurant manager just to name a few. All our service was excellent but they went the extra extra for us and our friends.

Dreams Vallarta Bay Resort and Spa: Dreams Vallarta Bay

We stayed in PVR during late April 2023. The hotel lobby is impressive and provides for wonderful views of the bay. However, you are cornered constantly by staff who want to sell you the Unlimited Vacation Package. Its not a time share....but it is. The rooms are a little dated but very clean and plenty of towels, and toiletries. The beds we did not find to be very comfortable. The other pool was much more clean, and so that's where I spent a lot of time. The staff was very polite, helpful, and always responded "Its my pleasure". The ocean was very rough, red flagged almost every day, so we did not spend alot of time there. Food was spectacular. The Mexican restaurant was our favourite, while the Japanese one was our least. We also spent a day next door at Secrets, and the Sushi Bar was delicious, Oceana was marvelous. But the best place was the Ice Cream shop. We were entertained by Orlando as he made our crepes. He was truly delightful. My biggest beef is with Air Canada, who cracked my luggage on my way to PVR and provided absolutely no assistance until I arrived home. Further the Air Canada Rep Hugo Ernesto Corona never showed up for our briefing with him, and he too provided no help to our luggage situation. Calls to Air Canada were pointless, frustrating and took away from my vacation. We had a very nice vacation at the Dreams Vallarta. Cleaning the pool more often during the day should be a priority.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Not too bad

A lot of people with kids. No fridge in room. Internet only in lobby and sometimes other close locations. Food is OK but only in central buffet little better - people after couple days lined up to enter there. Japanese restaurant not good. Tai and Brazilian very good. Italian like a sprint - "please eat your food fast and go". Italian salmon are great but small portion for big guy - not good. Staff are friendly . Tours not provided by resort, but company you bought tour and 3-4 times overpric [... read more]ed(300-400 dollars). Through airport tour guys normal pricing 30-70 dollars including lunch. Tours through nearest tour guy(on front of resort) not healthy . Girl told me do not take some sea tour because of food and transportation poor. Also mosquitos in mountains.

Sheraton Buganvilias Puerto Vallarta Hotel: Amazing Amazing Amazing

This was a trip of a life time. The resort was absolutely gorgeous. The staff was amazing. The food was amazing. The grounds were amazing. Everyone was so nice. We definitely will be back to the resort. Loved every minute. Highly recommend

Fiesta Americana Riviera Nayarit: Nice Resort but far from amenities

The hotel and grounds are lovely. I understand they are going to do extensive renovations as they just recently purchased - it was a Dreams resort. The staff are awesome. The food is ok (not great) - the drinks are the usual all-inclusive selections, however, my husband is a Canadian Whiskey drinker and they did not have any all week until the night before we were leaving. Although they provide bicycles to ride on a well planned bike path the closest shopping was Paradise Village Mall and it was very expensive and limited. If you wanted to venture further you had to rely on taxis as the bus system is not at all convenient as you are very far from the main road. The closest town is Bucerias - $24 cdn taxi ride. We wanted to go to Sayalita but the cab ride was around $100 return. Also the PV Marina was about $45 return. So if you like spending most of your time at the resort hanging at the pool and beach (nice beach) then this is the resort for you. If you want to venture out for day trips bring lots of cash for the taxis.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Waste of money

This resort had the absolute worst staff. My kids had a goal of seeing if they could get the staff to smile and they didn’t succeed. Many things went missing out of our room when we were not in it. The food was ok.

Buenaventura Grand Hotel and Great Moments: Excellent trip from start to finish

The service that I received from tripcentral was amazing and one of the best customer service experiences of my life. Ash took care of me from start to finish and what could have been a stressful experience was not at all due to Ash. The flight times were perfect and the airline Sunwing was quick and efficient. The Buenaventura Grande is an excellent hotel and in a great location. Everyone seemed happy and enjoying their job which says a lot about the management staff. The food was good and the place was spotless. Crown Paradise Club: Not as expected

The hotel and grounds were beautiful. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We knew it was a family hotel however were a little overwhelmed by how many kids were there. We had no problem getting into the buffet for eating but it was extremely noisy. It may have been spring break for a lot which would explain it. Lots however for kids to do. We requested tea however on the request sheet in the room but didn’t get it. We ended up getting some from the restaurant. There also was a bad odour from the bathroom in the room, and beds (mattresses) stored right outside our door and many others the whole time we were there. Not sure if the rooms in the bigger part of the hotel would have been better or not. On day two we requested an upgrade to the Crown Paradise Golden however couldn’t get in for a few days. We didn’t complain about these two issues as we were leaving. We did find the adult only pool which made for a relaxing time. On the whole, good staff, good service however the part we were in was definitely not 4 star material. Would not recommend for adults only..

Riu Flamingos: Wonderful resort

The Riu is my go to hotel chain in Mexico and this is my third stay at the Jalisco. It is definitely a 4+ star hotel and I love the staff, the service, and the wide selection of fresh food (and especially sea food). It is ideal for families! Just a couple of suggestions however. 1. The coffee needs improvement! I would rate it 1 out 5 stars. It tastes burnt and recycled. The best coffee is found in the sports bar. Can we also have a return of “non-dairy coffee creamer” in packets please.  [... read more] 2. The wines and some of the liquors could be improved 2 out of 5 stars. 3. The fitness Center. The equipment needs better maintenance. It is old, does not function properly and maybe unsafe. Overall I still love the Riu chain and PVR. Buenaventura Grand Hotel and Great Moments: Wonderful resort

The hotel was recently renovated so the place sparkled. The rooms were spacious with a nice view and comfortable beds. The food at the buffet and Mediterranean cafe was delicious. There was a fun Mexican fiesta hosted at the resort one evening that included lots of food stations, entertainment, games and fireworks.

Canto Del Sol: Great value for hotel

We had a great time at this hotel. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Nobody looked unhappy. Beds were very, very hard but they have foam layers that they can put on top of your bed. I had 3 layers on mine and it was much better. Rooms were clean. Food was tasty. Only managed to get to one a la carte - Mexican….it was excellent. Food and service. Please tip these waiters. Kids club was the only downside. Not many activities and parents were expected to hang around. Any kids [... read more] club I have gone to at other resorts have always taken the child for a few hours. Not the case here. Was surprised to find a kids pool on my second day. Hotel did not provide map of resort so I was not aware that there are 3 buildings for the resort. Hotel is about a 20-25 min walk to downtown or pay 10 pesos for the bus. Very easy to take. Puerto Vallarta is one of my favourite interactive vacations. It’s very safe Enjoy.

Riu Vallarta: Review of Riu Vallarta

This hotel was very nice. The lobby was beautiful and the grounds very fabulous. My room was very nicely decorated and very roomy. The food was terrific. The buffet had a lot of variety and had dishes that could be enjoyed by all. The other restaurants were also very good, particularly the Italian cuisine. The proximity to the ocean was really a plus and the beach was beautiful. The staff went over and above to make all our party comfortable and happy. The staff at this hotel work very h [... read more]ard and are very pleasant to deal with. All in all I was very impressed with the whole experience and would recommend it to anyone.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Very cozy and ethnic feel resort.

Great stuff, bartenders and servers very friendly and happy. Rooms clean everyday. Very happt with service. Except I was disappointed that there was no communication between airport ride and the front desk so I missed my ride to airport. Other then that very happy with my experience.

Riu Flamingos: Mixed reviews

It's a beautiful resort. However they need to spend more time picking up garbage not only on the beach part of the resort but also around the resort. People leaving empty cups, garbage and cigarette butts everywhere. The public washrooms in the hotel are disgusting. Most of the toilets don't even flush. Also it's a very loud resort lots of families and kids. There is not a designated adult pool so we found it hard to find any swimming room in any of the 2 pools. I would say this is more a fami [... read more]ly resort. The food was okay. Hit and miss everyday. All their drinks are made with that sugary syrup mix. Hard to even drink after a couple of days. They only serve instant decaf coffee which is terrible. The rooms are okay but the cleaning products they use are extremely strong scented. Really the only positive for us was the staff they work really hard and are very friendly. I think a lot of them are overworked. It's such a busy resort it seems like it's almost unmanageable for the staff.

Armony Marival Resort and Spa Punta de Mita: Beautiful 10/10 experience

Aside from the hot tubs being 300$ usd for a few hours, everything was beautiful, the people were so kind and nice and the food was soooooo damn good especially the buffet by the beach. It was good vibes the whole way through, they provided the best experience for a luxury resort.

Riu Flamingos: Excellent Resort

Excellent excellent resort - I would come back again. Staff and activities are awesome, well organized. Cleaned hotel and rooms … buffet and restaurant food was good. Excellent excellent I have already recommended to other friends and family.

Sheraton Buganvilias Puerto Vallarta Hotel: Great Resort

Third time here, great room, good food, best location. Check in fast. Walking distance to the Malacon and downtown. Special thanks to Marcella and Iris (hostess at the main restaurant). Looking forward to our return.

Riu Flamingos: Disappointing

Pros: friendly staff, nice beach, Michael Jackson evening show was good Cons: no pool or beach servers, food was very bland and a la Cartes weren't any better than the buffets, standard room is very small, in order to avoid "chair gate" you need to get up at 6am to secure your spot, adult entertainment was limited to a nightly show - no bingo nights, karaoke, trivia, etc.
