The people were great but there were no phones working and the rooms needed some work. There was a lot of maintenance happening to get ready for busy season so I'm sure it will improve. The a la cartes we're not very good and the selection of food was limited.

Beautiful gardens and landscaping first impression

Are room was in unit 9. The farther away no problem exercise was good and walk was beautiful. Then we were on the 3rd floor. Lots of exercise. It was a good thing since numerous guest advised us of cockroaches from the 1st and 2nd floor units. At night the walk wasn't as pleasant since lots of path lights were burnt out. We have read the beach was not the best and was very rocky. That is defeinately true. Went to "pillar beach" very recommended excursion. Nice sand,but not clean. Lots of empty b [... read more]ottles piled all over. Food was good at the snack grill, beach bbq and speciality restaurants. It took a while of flagging down servers to get you water or alcoholic drinks. Very slow. The shows at night were good. It isn't Vegas but definitely worth going to. Unfortunately the small kids entertained us before the show and the parents were not responsible to remove the kids from stage when the preformers started. It is stated not to reserve lounge chairs but numerous vacationers didn't do this. At 10am at the 2 pools with over 200 loungers you can't find any loungers. There isn't that many people lounging or on the pool. Around 230 you will notice vacationers coming for their loungers. I will PLAY differently if this happens next time. There were holes pavement - no staff attended to the problem. Over al this would not change the good time I had with sister but I would seriously think before going to a memories location again. Some disappointments

Travelled in Nov 2015 with family and 2 young children. Hotel had water issues. Often our rooms had no hot water or no water at all for hours. A la cartes not worth the time. Food at main buffet and beach bar good. Lighting at night poor on paths and around the pools. Children's pool not clean at times. Our room was well appointed and staff very helpful throughtout the resort. The grounds were very nice.

Ok resort

Beach was not so nice lots of rocks so bring water shoes. The food was ok the Resort is fine but it's not a amazing the people and the staff were great but you can go anywhere in Cuba and you will get that service .. Cuban people are the most beautiful people to deal with ....Love the country and the people .

Memories I would rather forget

The people are nice and helpful. The food is typical not very good and not tasty. Mostly cold unless grilled at the back counter. They need an experienced chef or cook. The room was dated. The beds are hard and only a thin blanket. The pool was crystal clear. Very Nice. The ocean was and beach was fine.

Good Vacation!

This was a much needed vacation. Planned and travelled with another couple. The resort had much to offer given the compact size. Excellent pool areas. Lots of fun had at the 24-hour lobby bar and 24-hour snack bar. A la carte restaurants were great; highly recommend the Creole. Best place to eat lunch was at the Ranch behind the snack bar. Beach was good, however, recent storm washed away some sand which left lots of coral stone exposed. Be careful in some spots if you do not have water shoes. [... read more] Lots of fish close to shore for those who enjoy snorkelling. The rooms were excellent; very clean and comfortable. Stayed in the 3000 block, seemed to be one of the best, no issues with hydro or water. Requested for a king but ended up with two queens, pushed them together and had the best bed ever. Surprisingly comfortable sleeps. Air conditioning worked well. For the rainy days, the TV had English movie channels for entertainment. House Keeping was amazing! The ladies had our room spotless and we never ran out of anything. Fridge restocked each day. New sheets and towels whenever needed. Overall - a good vacation, speaking for those that are adult couples.

Nice choice

Hotel is close to airport. Check in was great. Got our rooms early. Rooms were nice and clean. Beach was rocky so bring water shoes. Thought diamond club beach wasn't as nice as other side. Lots of shade on beach . Overall a good place

There was no water for 3 days on and off in the toilet, shower, hand basin. No beach towels only the regular bath towels. Buffet food terrible, cold, undercooked. My wife was sick and diarrhoea many times during the night. I'm still not back to normal as of Nov.23/15. Al carte rest. beef fillet undercooked and uncutable with a steak knife unable to eat it and left it and explained to waiter why we were leaving it. The bea [... read more]ch was dirty and coral right at the beach impossible to walk out into the sea with exception of a 20ft gap where you could walk into the open sea. Nov.17th room was NOT cleaned and at 10:30pm came with a btle of water in place of cleaning. Received 1 coffee sachet for coffee machine to last us the week, impossible. Nov.18 due to retn to Toronto. Breakfast served 7am and starting with COLD scrambled eggs etc. Food should have been warm at 7am. There was no railings going up steps to next step from reception to buffet. No signs to tell you which pathway to take to Reception or Buffet Rest. Our first room was bungalow 7- 3rd floor with 36 steps to climb up to to get to room. They suggested moving us to another room- 2nd room bathtub was too high to get into to take a shower and I was afraid of falling. On 2nd day we requested a room with a shower only which was in Bungalow 1 and it worked out ok. The first 2 rooms you had to walk and walk to the buffet rest with no signs which pathway to take. MEMORIES-FLAMENCO is listed as a 5 star which I would liken it to a 2 star. We have stayed in 3 star locations much better than Memories. WOULD NOT CONSIDER EVER GOING AGAIN TO CUBA - MEMORIES-FLAMENCO NOR RECOMMED THIS LOCATION TO ANY FRIENDS.

Hot water would of been nice

The running water was hit or miss in the room on a daily basis which became a real nusence. The food left a little to be desired but we were warned ahead of time that the food was not the best in Cuba so we didn't have high hopes to begin with. The staff were very friendly and willing to help the best they could. We were only able to exchange the beach towels once during the 7 days we were there because the laundry services were down.

Ok for budget with kids.

Nice resort for 3 - 3.5 rating, but no way 4 - 4.5. I've stayed in Cuba twice before and this place did not measure up to the listed star value of 4.5 but we still had a good time since the staff was very friendly as always in Cuba. The food...well it's Cuba, but no one goes hungry or thirsty with 24 hr service. The rooms had issues and the beds are hard as rocks. On the up side, this place is great for kids of all ages. Since we traveled with our grown kids and 10 grand kids in tote, budget and child entertainment and safety were very important to us and all of us had a great time. Remember that your time is what you make it, so focus on the positive - budget friendly, happy, healthy, safe vacation. That is why we will return to Cuba.

Just ok

Overall I had a good time because of the big group I went with and it's the Caribbean. Beach was great, water beautiful, great BBQ lunches, buffet not bad, service friendly but not really attentive mostly. As far as rooms are concerned, most simple, cheaply finished and falling apart, hot water pressure very low, shower heads held by drywall screw barely hanging on. Bed mattresses very cheap coil ones. Room service won't refill your beer unless you ask in spite of being diamond club. No real bra [... read more]nd pop (cola or sprite). Scooters all out of service at 3 places. Pay excursions by credit card. Hotel xchange rate is some 10% higher if exchanging cash. In Cuba they don't seem to know about quality or customer service so you have to just enjoy the weather and beautiful beach and ocean. II didn't really feel like diamond club but I don't want to think what it would be like not being. Better alcohol choice, beach service and more access. Don't waste time on a la card. Big waste of time, Food not better than buffet and less choice. Service is worse than buffet. Don't do wedding there!! You could do much better by yourself. They have no means at all. Don't set yourself up for disappointment. Overall if you just care about beach, weather, quiet, food, cheap and not care about room, it's OK. You can have a good time if you want to.

Great hotel for the money

great location only 15 min drive from airport. staff is great. food better than most hotel in cuba. rooms very clean. only downfall is the beach.for cuba the price of this was great for what you get. go with diamond package well worth the extra money

Definetly unforgetable, but not in a good way.

Our whole family travelled together for my daughters wedding. Some of the rooms doors would not lock, air conditioning broke, safes not working , leaking taps and air conditioners, cockroaches in almost everyones rooms..same food everyday in every venue....every meal. Staff are fantastic, and its was very clean and beautiful.

Not bad. But we won't be back!!

The pools were nice. People were great. Our girls had fun. The food is the worst we ever had. By day three our kids were crying they didn't want to eat there. Same food everyday. The restaurants are terrible. Don't waste your time!! The bedrooms are disgusting. Twin beds. Not doubles or kings. Cockroaches in every room!! We went with 65 people and everyone had them. Shows were ok. Beach is nice. The kids had fun and that was what was important. I do not recommend this resort

Amazing beach

Great place to relax at the beach, snorkeling, and just get some sun. If your up to a little more excitement, the pools are the place to be. Night time has the entertainment for all. The food isnt the greatest, but actually not bad. Better than we heard it would be. Very feeindly staff and the rooms were kept clean daily. Definitely a trip worth the price.

Excellent Resort

I was terrified about going to Cuba based on what I heard and read. I am so glad I went and I would definitely go back to this resort. The food was excellent. I brought condiments but did not need them. The entertainment was amazing. The dancers are professionals. Shows amazing. My favourite was Romeo and Juliet (Romantico) and Michael Jackson but they were all great. There was entertainment everywhere the pool, beach, buffet, bars. Loved it. The grounds are well kept and beautiful. I loved t [... read more]he beach. It does have coral but i walked the length of the beach and the other 2 resorts nearby also have it. There are coral free parts so I didn't need special shoes and the water was clear with fishes everywhere. The rooms could use a few repairs and the water pressure was low between 5 and 7. But it was clean. Staff work very hard. If there is something you don't like. Let front desk know and they will fix it. Absolutely worth it.

Outstanding resort

This resort was so beautiful! Very clean and all the staff were amazing! The Lady manager was awesome and very friendly! Also very helpful and pleasant with the staff and the tourist there!!I'm going back and telling all my friends too!

A little better than average

On the positive side - Beautiful grounds, a great selection of food choices, amazing staff. On the negative side - we were originally in building 5, but after getting lost frequently, we were moved to building 1. Much better, as it is much closer to all of the action (a little noisy at night, but only until 11:00). Big big complaint MOSQUITOS. We used insect repellent, but I think they liked it. Loved all the staff at the resort.

Spent a week here and it was quite enjoyable. Weather was hot no rain beach was lovely. Only problem was mosquitos. Even the food was quite nice .Staff was very friendly and always helpful. Was worried about the hard mattress but slept soundly every nite. Ocean view was gorgeous in the morning .Go and enjoy.

Very nice resort

Rooms and grounds well maintained. Food above average for Cuba, if fact very good for anywhere. Only issue was coral going into the ocean. Resort staff very friendly and eager to help. Entertainment group is very good.
