Playa Vista Azul: Super resort

The resort was super. The Ala Carte restaurants they have are just 3 for the size of the hotel they should add another. Everything else was awesome. We had a great time and the staff were all fantastic.

Melia Las Antillas: Beautiful Pool Area

Melia Las Antillas, Veradero, Cuba: Beautiful beach - very clean pool and deck - hotel rooms were very clean although linens could use updating. Staff exceptionally helpful and polite. If you're not hung up on gourmet food this is a good place to vacation.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Don’t recommend it!!!

Just returned from a 7 day stay and would not return to this resort. Let’s start with the rant… If you are looking for creature comforts here (like comfortable beds and clean beach loungers) you won’t find them here. Have been to Cuba before and know that the food is not the greatest but this was below standard even for Cuba!!! The maid missed cleaning our room one day and clean room towels were not always forthcoming. The lighting in the hallways was sketchy at best in the evening. If yo [... read more]u are looking for smiling, happy staff you will not find it here. Rave… We have traveled to many countries and Cuba has, by far, the best beaches. We always managed to get a clean, dry new beach towel each day. Unlike some other countries you will not be harassed by anyone trying to sell you a time share or other crap you don’t need or want. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained.

Iberostar Origin Tainos: Great vacation

I stayed at Iberostar Tainos mid February with my two teenage daughters. The poolside bungalow was spacious enough for all of us to have our own bed. The rooms are a little dated looking but they are clean and we'll kept. I can't say enough good things about Yamilla, who kept our room clean and fresh while leaving flowers and notes for us on the beds. The pool area did get very loud later in the afternoon when they had pool side entertainment. So if you're in a poolside bungalow and are the type to enjoy a late afternoon nap you might find yourself out of luck with the volume of the music and the animation staff on the microphone. The buffet had plenty of selection at all times. Some of the vegetable and fruit options were a little repetitive after a few days but the resort did a good job of offering variations and alternatives. The wait staff in the restaurants are some of the best I've ever encountered in any Resort. Always friendly, smiling and we couldn't have asked for better service. Yes, the WiFi is at times spotty and at times non existent. But we worked around it. Overall a great week with Iberostar Tainos.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Beautiful resort!

We have visited Varadero four times now and must say that Ocean Varadero El Patriarca was the best! Staff were friendly, rooms were clean and the food was the best we've had in Cuba. I do not have a single complaint and was impressed that the fellow at the front desk ensured that the nine of us travelling together were all in the same bungalow rather than spread out. We will definitely be back!

Starfish Varadero: Excellent resort for the price

This hotel needs a little TLC as the exterior walkways require a bit of work. There is a need to upgrade certain rooms as the first room we were in was, although clean and functional, in dire need of a major refresh, and my wife and myself are not fussy about rooms, we go to resorts for the beach. Since we were going to be here for 2 weeks, for the first time, we requested a room change and the hotel complied and put us in a suite (just a larger upgraded room). A few rock when entering the water, but blame the waves, some days worse than other and from our walks, all hotels were the same. Food was great, the a la carte restaurant are on a first come first serve basis, which is interesting and we got to eat at all 4. We were pleased with all, ate very well, but the mexican one was slightly dissapointing, the only one I left still slightly hungry. Service is excellent but staff as a whole are not very friendly, with a few exceptions. The are polite and helpful but in many cases without much of a smile. The only minor hickups was beach towels, which seem to be impossible to refresh, we spent 7 days with the same towels. Now this is not a major problem but over a 2 weeks period it becomes a joke then a annoyance, nothing more but still this is the first resort where we have had this issue consistently. The other is ice at the beach bar, since it has to be brought in by cooler, you expect certain misses, but when you go to the main resort bar ( the lobby bar) and they have no ice, you start to ask questions. All in all, a great 3.5 star resort that I would recommend and return to.

Melia Las Antillas: Nice resort

Dated but clean hotel. Staff were amazing,special shout out to chino on the beach and Teresa by the pool 😎no signs of hurricane whatsoever. Make sure you bring a bubba less trips to the bar ha ha!! Entertainment was everynite and enjoyable!!

Barcelo Solymar: Great resort

The hotel is pretty good. They did have some damage from hurricane but not too bad. The rooms were clean. Food wise it was ok could be better but it’s cuba. I like this hotel because it’s close to downtown and the beach is excellent.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: charming old style resort.

rooms in real need of redo. paint, tiles fixtures and furniture are really tired. Food was best we ever had in 6 visits to Cuba. First nights room was disgusting. The practice of shoving late arrival guests in these obviously unacceptable rooms should be stopped. It starts the vacation off on a sour note. The upgraded room the next day was in great location and nice and clean.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: beautiful resort

The hotel was beautiful, and very clean. we were part of the diamond club which I highly recommend. Well worth it! i really enjoyed this resort because it was adult only so the beach and pools were more quiet and relaxing. The staff were all amazing! they made our stay so much more memorable. My only negative comment would be that there's no hot water. Their water's heated by solar panels so if its not sunny(which it wasn't when we went) there's no hot water. Punta Peninsula Varadero: Has potential

Grounds: large resort, lots of potential, close to beach ---- could be cleaner/ needs some renovations Food: lots of variety, and great coffee Staff: the best feature- good shows with very talented dancers/ singers/ comedy, very fun dance lessons by the pool, and helpful staff - dance lessons by the pool were very fun, and the instructor was very funny, and could teach any level. Melia Peninsula Varadero: Beautiful Resort

Rooms were clean and comfortable, Loved the pool area , lots of fun , beautiful beach love love love the Ocean.!! The staff were very friendly , would definitely recommend this resort , very family friendly

Melia Marina Varadero: Great resort!

Overall it was a positive experience. I feel their standard of what 'clean' is, is not what we are use to (especially the hotel rooms and washrooms). The toilets did not always flush (around the entire resort). The people and staff were kind and friendly. Although not directly on the beach, it was only a five minute walk. The food was decent and the entertainment was good.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Overall good resort

Grounds keepers were constantly working...trying to fix the damage which was minimal by the time we got there. There was no noise associated with this work. It had no impact on our vacation. Our room was outdated and worse was the obvious patch work to fix certain fixtures. For example, sink plug was broken, plaster wall had apparent water damage. Room was not cleaned well when we checked in, for example broken glass in sink drain, grime on bathroom wall tiles and counter. Now for the good part...most of the employees were courteous, some were fantastic; the food was better than I was expecting, a liter of bottled water was supplied daily free of charge, our housekeeper paid attention to details, the entertainment in the lobby was good, the beach chairs were free, they provided an extra single bed for us without being asked (a bonus for us three, travelled with two teenagers), Sunwing provided an information session on our first day and were always available for any questions and/or concerns. Overall we paid and got 3-star service. My girls and I would definitely consider going back to Cuba...the beach was fantastic!

Playa Vista Azul: AMAZING PLACE

We just came back from our first trip to varadero and I am inlove with Cuba. It was perfectly organized to get to the resort from the airport and back from when we were leaving! The food was sooo good especially the burgers by the pool & I can’t say enough about the entertainment group. Danny, Gustavo, Pedro, Douglas, Mirthaa, Aribyl, Noriel, Felix, Yoeli and Carlos are names I will never forget. Barcelo Solymar: Great people, great service!!

This was our third time at this resort, and we really like it. That being said, this was also the most we've spent to go to this location. If it wasn't for the outstanding service from the front desk and concierge (ask for ONAY) we would think twice about booking there again. We were travelling with our 3 month old son and everyone really helped us get as comfortable as possible. The location is amazing, great to be within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Amazing Resort

New Resort very clean and convienient, staff are amazing beautiful layout beach is lovely.from my past experience Vacation with my Wife in Cuba for the 7th time it is one of the nicest and cleanest Resort we visited, I recommended to a Couple of friends Who they never been in Cuba before we went three couples and they loved it.

Starfish Jibacoa: Relaxing vacation

It was our fourth stay at this hotel. We liked the beach, the villas, the magnolias. Staff was helpful and professional. Noticed several minor improvements. The food was simple and tasty. Perfect place for nature lovers. Proximity to Havana is a plus. Agent from TripCentral was very efficient and resourceful.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great Resort, Food not quite up to par

Hotel rooms were clean and adequate, but more of a 2-3 Star standard Nightly shows were awesome, better than other resorts I have been to. Beach was great and had an opportunity to snorkel for an hour for $20 which included boat ride to/from as well as the snorkeling equipment. When cleaning tables, unused cutlery is left for the next customers - At the buffet, serving spoons are often non-existent. Staff seem to be concentrating on keeping floors clean as opposed to making sure food area is presentable. The food itself seems to be of lower quality and often is not properly cooked. As much as I tried to not be negative about the food, I did struggle to enjoy the eating experience. The restaurants seemed to serve more acceptable food, but nothing close to gourmet. We did ask about food at the other resorts and food was always the only complaint. The resorts are all owned by the Cuban government so you may not find better eateries! Other than the food, I did enjoy my stay at this resort as it had everything else you need for a hot destination. If you want a cheaper Caribbean experience and are not fussy when it comes to food, Cuba is the place to go!

Hotel Bella Costa: amazing surroundings

We truly had a wonderful vacation in Cuba. I had read many negative reviews about this hotel and was very surprised when I entered the room and saw my surroundings. It was clean and nice. There is work that needs to be done such as plumbing and new windows. There were no mosquitoes, no fleas and I didn't see any cockroaches roaming about. The pool and beach area are beautiful. The food was exceptional. I truly enjoyed eating in the outdoor area by the pool and overlooking the beach. This eating  [... read more]area is one of a kind. I've gone to many other resorts but none had an area quite like this. The 5th floor of this resort has been somewhat renovated and it's very, very nice. The cost for an upgrade is extremely reasonable per person. We had a wonderful vacation. Thank you to all the staff. I would recommend this hotel to a friend.
