Hotel Playa Coco: Excellent resort

Overall the resort is clean & reasonable requirements for health, hygiene, safety & security are met. Lot of professional entertainment is available with activities throughout day & evening. Good quality & variety food. Drinks are really unlimited. All employees are courteous. Resort & beach is clean & continuously maintained.

Hotel Mojito: Exceeded expectations

Clean, friendly and lots of activities. Good food! Will go back next year. The outings were fun and the staff were helpful, the beach was beautiful. The evening shows were lots of fun and our room was really nuce

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Memories FLamenco

It was very nice, We felt welcomed as soon as we arrived. THe beach beautiful unforgettable, room was fine always well cleaned , food was okay but their own culinary food was good. I loved the entertainment ! Cubans are very sociable and funny too! I recommend it !

Melia Jardines del Rey: Amazing but a monster of a resort.

Clean, safe good food for Cuba. Ocean infront of resort was horrible. Rocks rocks and more rocks. I sat at resort next door. The safe was amazing but with the construction I found that every employee had a shtic. Hats made of leaves 3 peso pet my bird 1 peso draw a pic 5 peso. To much begging. The resort is stunning but to big. Don't know if this matters but Canjat was the airline, never ever again. Rude disgusting dangerously arrogant employees. Hotel Playa Coco: Lots to do

Rooms were clean. Good maid service. A-LA- Carte, excellent. Pools excellent. Buffet good. Lots to drink. Very helpful at front desk. Take bug spray. Good entertainment. Love the ice cream house. Everyone was very friendly.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Very Disappointing

We visited this resort with our expectations in check but we're still disappointed. The resort was clearly beautiful 20 years ago, but it looks like it has been left to rot. The beautiful fountains and waterfall were dry. The marshy areas were overgrown. Sime of the wooden plank walkways from the hotel to the beach were rotting, broken and uneven and dangerous to walk on. The fencing around the pool area near the cabanas were rotting. The pool floor was obviously crumbling and covered by an ill  [... read more]fitting pool liner. The resort was uncomfortably dark at night. The lights along the front of the buffet dining room were hanging by the electrical wires. There was virtually no fruit or vegetables, but the most uncomfortable part were the cockroaches that climbed the walls and in the vacant high chairs. The walls needed painting and repairs. The tablecloths were frequently dirty. We were informed by a staff member that the juices were made with regular tap water. During our stay our youngest son and his little friends all got tummy sick. The ac stopped working for half the resort while we were there. The beds in the rooms were dated and the springs in the mattresses poked through. The lighting was very dim and there was very little water pressure. The staff members were attentive if you tupped them first. Our first night my son dropped his ice cream and the cup smashed. The waiters didn't come to help pick up the glass. We picked up as much as we could and it stayed on the table. The beach was beautiful, but right in the center of the strip was a rotting pier. My sons found a huge metal spike in the sand while they were playing. Fortunately they weren't injured. This trip is not worth the money you will pay.

Hotel Vigia: Great value

Rooms and grounds were very well groomed however the facilityis in need of some updates. Waitstaff, bartenders, groundskeepers, cleaning staff, hospitality and fitness staff all very dedicated to top service. There are some obvious signs of organizational issues at management level, I.e. Running out of food , dishes, chairs etc. Food was okay, don't go to Cuba for gourmet dining. Beach was phenomenal! Resort layout is designed for maximum #of ocean view rooms, very nice feature. I definitely will consider this resort again for a budget, laid back vacation on the beach.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Awesome destination.

I really enjoyed our stay at Pestana. I enjoyed the food, the staff, and the beach was the best out of the resorts around us. We wore Keen sandals as there was some reef you had to walk over but not much. We had a couple of room issues but nothing trip altering. Skip the market. You can get all the same items at the cayo coco airport. We did get some chips there though. No diet coke (name brand). Pilar Beach is a must whether you do the excursion (Pilar Plus with the lunch and the speed boats wa [... read more]s a great deal) or take the bus that runs through out the day. Go early though. People really start to show up around lunch time so go early to get a spot. The trip to Moron was interesting although I would have liked to hear about the history behind some of the buildings. It was expensive though in comparison to Pilar Plus. I enjoyed the ala cartes. Some people complained. The food was different but awesome. I mean what do you want? If you want what you have at home then stay home. I really enjoyed the Italian al a carte. I hope I spell their names right-Yamilka, Juan, Manual, Getter, Lisbet do a great job. I had the fish and loved it but it was something I had never had or seen before. The deep fried battered fish on the beach was awesome. The hamburgs are not your regular burgers we have in Canada but edible. Our Transat rep was around al the time. The cappuccino's were an awesome way to start the morning. We didn't hang around the pool because well there was a beautiful beach to enjoy with a great amount of shade available. Catarmorans were included. What a beautiful ride. We strolled the beach in both directions. Once past the other resorts the beaches had sand bars and shallow areas. Pack some water and snacks but watch for the tide coming in. This was our first trip to an all inclusive and to the south but I was very happy with it. I would definitely recommend it.

Hotel Playa Coco: Great Spot but Major renovations needed

This is a jewel in Cuba, however the resort structure has been sadly ignored. The rooms are spacious, and the resort is well laid out, however while there there were power interuptions, plumbing problems and the buildings themselves have holes on the outside facade. Needs painting and fixing. We could see workers everywhere, but hopefully they are not just doing patch jobs. The beach is terrific with lots of lounge chairs and shade for all. They have a wonderful Japanese restaurant, however the Italian restaurant was horrible. All 3 of us ended up sick after eating there. The entertainment was the best I have seen in Cuba and all the staff friendly and helpful. I hope this resort is restored to its potential, then it would be gorgeous. Until then I will not be returning.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Fabulous resort!

The grounds were very beautiful. The flowers were amazing. You had your choice of an activity filled pool or a more quiet relaxing pool. The entertainment was the best of any resort that we've ever been to. The Michael Jackson night which we thought would be ho-hum and like most resorts turned out to be a "sell out" crowd and rightly so as it surpassed all expectations. The dancers were outstanding and the choreography was exceptional. Oh, and the ocean was beautiful to behold!

Hotel Playa Coco: Friendly Hotel!

This Hotel's grounds are clean and beautiful, the room is clean and simple but needs to have some updates in the bathroom. The food is ok, but the a la carts where fantastic. The staff is wonderful! I felt extremely safe there. The bar's there are all extremely accommodating, even when we have had enough. We where never bothered to go do excursions. Public washrooms are ok but could use some updating. For the money, you get what you pay for.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Up and coming resort

Our travel party have stayed at 2 other resorts on Cayo Coco/Guillermo and we were pleased with this new resort. This resort certainly has the potential to mature into a top quality resort. The grounds I am sure will be impressive and the beach is by far the best in the area.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Good value for the price

I purchased oceanview but was given regular room when I checked in. After complaining, they gave me an oceanview room with a beautiful view. During checkout, the guy behind the desk, accused me of using towel tickets. I insisted I did not even use one towel. But he was so adamant and also told me the room number which was wrong but would not believe me. Finally, he got the written towel ticket out to show me, right away I told him. the ticket had someone else's name. Take your own towels. Hotel Mojito: Amazing vacation

The people at this resort are so friendly. The shows were a lot of fun. The food was great. I know you don't hear that often in Cuba but the food was really good. The a la carte restaurants were great. We went to the Gormet and Italian. The drinks were fantastic. We brought our kids and they loved it. The pools are really nice and there is pool side service for drinks. The beach is unbelievable. Absolutely gorgeous. I think what sets this hotel above any others is their outstanding service

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Good resort for the $$$$$

Resort was very nice for the price. The pool and the beach were amazing, pool having a swim up bar. Only problem that should be fixed, but it happens at all resorts is people that get up at 6 in the morning to put there towels out on chairs. The seafood was good if you stood in line for it to be grilled, buffet was good, lunch grill good lots of fruits was nice. Short bus ride from airport was a bonus.

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Average three star in Cuba

Rooms were clean and grounds were neat. The food left a lot to be desired, but there were some things in the buffet that were reasonably good. The beach was awesome and the staff were friendly and helpful for the most part. The resort could definitely use more maintenance, but overall it was a great stay and I would go again if the price was right.

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: disappointing

we went to cuba choosing this resort based on reviews we arrived and were met by very unfriendly staff at the desk needless to say we had many problems too numerous to mention and it took 5 days to finally move resorts due to the local rep being a major issue we travel easy feeling as comfortable in a 2 star as we do in a 5 star and therefore the concerns we had played a major role in our vacation you need basics a toilet that works, towels, water we had none of these no matter how many times we [... read more] pleaded with the front desk nothing was done the beach is beautiful but didn't make up for the problems we had

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Amazing beach....

The Pestana has an amazing beach, no coral just soft sand and lots of tropical fish to see in the clear, aqua water. The staff are pleasant, courteous and rooms are clean with nice decor. The food is ok. The buffet was good with lots of variety, a la cartes were average. Did not like the Italian restaurant. The grounds are beautiful and clean.
